Is moving to Revel necessary

I use Photoshop Elements 8 on Windows XP. I don't have any photos in my library. I DO NOT have a iPhone, iPad, or any other gadgets. Do I have to transfer to Adobe Revel or can I just continue using Elements 8?

You can continue to use Photoshop Elements with your computer. If you do not sync to Photoshop.com from an older version of Elements, or load files there from your computer, then you can continue as usual. For users who want to try a new photo storage and sharing program, you an try Adobe Revel.
Users who have files currently in Photoshop.com are encouraged to backup their files before the sharing and storage part of photoshop.com closes. Adobe Photoshop Elements versions in the past had the ability to sync with Photoshop.com. Photoshop Elements 11 will have conectivity to Revel instead. Users of Photoshop.com also have the option also to migrate their jpg files to revel manually or automatically. I hope that helps to clarify the situation.

Not all my Jpeg files from elements moved to Revel, why?

I went in to check what files from elements were downloaded in the new Revel system and a significant number of my Jpeg pictures did not move over. Is there a reason? OMG I hope figuring out which ones weren't moved will be easy like "download whole elements library" or something to that effect.
I got an email that said my download was complete but on some page somewhere in the MANY places I have been to sort this out the "all files have been downloaded" was not yet highlighted so does that mean that things are not done yet?
OMG I am so frustrated. I am ready to store my pictures on Amazon Cloud. Seems like a more friendly system. I am not a tech savy person. I know enough to be frustrated.

QUESTIONS ABOUT FILES TRANSITIONING TO REVEL
Your album structure will be moved to Revel along with your JPEGs. There is not a concept of albums within albums in Revel, so the file structure will be flattened.
Will my web galleries be moved to Revel?
Your web galleries will become albums in Revel. Current album links will continue to work.
Will my group albums be moved to Revel?
Group albums will not be moved, but the JPEG photos in the albums will be moved to Revel.

Recently, my Elements 7 backup was moved to Revel, Is that free for PC users?

I read that Revel is free for iPod users. Is it also free for PC users? My backup for Elements 7 was recently moved there.

Revel is free for all available platforms (iMac,iPad,iPhone, iPod). On windows there is no desktop client but you can use https://www.adoberevel.com/ (Revel's web client). Detailed info is available on https://www.adoberevel.com/pricing

How do I remove Photo's from Revel

I should have had the choice to not have my photo's moved to Revel.

You should have been notified about the move by email. All users were given the option to have their photos moved or not moved
Emails were sent out to users explaining that Photoshop.com was about to be discontinued, and informing users that their files would be migrated to Revel unless they opted out. This was done as a courtesy so that users could have a means of saving all their photos (jpg) on the cloud for viewing and sharing without having to go to the effort of archiving and re-uploading. Additional emails went out closer to the time. The opt out period has ended and we are in the transition period actively migrating photos to Revel.

How to back up from Photoshop Elements 8 to Revel

My photos were backed up from PSE 8 to the Elements backup on photoshop.com. Now they have been automatically moved to Revel. How do I back up more photos from PSE 8 to Revel? When I try to do a backup from PSE 8 it connects to the old photoshop.com backup.

It sounds like you want to get more of your files onto Revel but are not sure how to since you can not save from Elements to Photoshop.com anymore and since Elements 8 does not communicate with Revel. What you can do now it upload your photos to Revel directly from your Mac or PC. If you have a Mac, you can download the Revel app and upload from your Mac. If you have a PC, you can upload via a web browser at adoberevel.com. If you upgrade to Elements 11, you will have the ability to upload to Revel from Elements if you choose (it is not quite the same as the sync, but allows upload to or download from Revel) See the link below for more details. Pictures have not all transferred to Revel although the message says the move is complete

I received a message saying that the move from Photoshop to Revel is complete. There are 173 of my most recent jpg pictures, dated from July, 2012 - March, 2013 that have not been moved. It looks like these pictures were not automatically backed up and synct the way they should have been by Photoshop. How can I get these pictures moved to Revel?

Export photos from Elements 11 to Adobe Revel
You can export photos to a library in Adobe Revel from Elements Organizer.
In Elements Organizer, select the photos you want to export. Select File > Export To Adobe Revel or click the Share tab and click Adobe Revel.
Select the library from the Export To drop-down list and click Export.
Note:All exported images are converted to .Jpeg file format.
Export to library
A message is displayed confirming the number of media exported successfully. Click OK.
You can Sign Out from the Import/Export workflow and sign in as a different user, if required. Click on triangle next to the Welcome, [Username] and click Sign Out.

PSE does not Synch Version Set to REVEL?

I have just installed PSE 12 and changed my Revel subscription to premium. Before committing my entire PSE library I created a small (102 pictures) album and made it a mobile album. In REVEL only 95 pictures show up. After comparing export files of both the PSE album and the REVEL album, I have found that the discrepancy involves version sets. Pictures whose name includes the fragment "-edited" were not moved to REVEL. When a matching picture without the "-edited" existed, it was moved to REVEL. For the cases without the matching unedited picture, no picture moved to REVEL.
Is this the way REVEL synch should be working?

Another update:
I've had some time now to observe and experiment more carefully. I've found that I get different results with version sets that I create new with PSE12 as compared to version sets that were brought forward from PSE9:
1. For every version set originally from PSE9 (usually xyz.jpg and xyz_edited.jpg) only the xyz.jpg syncs into Revel when I move it into a mobile album in PSE12. (This means that I had not tested enough when I said that only my oldest "edited" photos had not synced to Revel.)
2. For every version set that I create new with PSE12 (usually xyz.jpg and xyz_edited-1.jpg), both pictures move into Revel. (I think that I must have deleted the one that I said disappeared -- I wish I kept better notes!)
Since I would like initially to get every PSE file of a Revel-supported filetype into Revel, I am considering converting every pre-existing version set to individual files before I move the remainder of my library into mobile albums. Since I've fooled myself more that I care to admit, I'll test more before going further. My goals are to capture every photo from our 2 iPhones and 1 iPad in the same spot where all our prior photos exist AND to be able to browse them with any of our devices.

Pictures don't get moved to Revel so I'm not clear what you are saying. Have you upgraded from one version of PSE to another and now have an empty catalog? Do you not have a 'My Folders' section in your Organizer left-hand panel? Please take a screenshot of your Organizer window and post it here.

Reconnect in elements 9 before registering elments 11?

I tried to 'reconnect all files', but it appears that most of my library is now disconnected. Is this because these photos are now moved to Revel? If I register elements 11 without reconnecting them will the unconnected ones be displayed in elements 11? Will it be any advantage to reconnect all that I can? I'm holding off on registering until I have an answer.
When I open elements 9 I am told that Revel is now the home for my photos but there are only about 40 or so there out of my 30,000 plus or minus. Since there are limits on how many can be moved in a month (is that the same as 'uploading', or is moving a different process?) I'll be waiting a long time for everything to show up.
I marked my last reply from Scott as 'not helpful' because I asked for options and none were offered. It seems to be Revel or nothing. Is that true? I should have started making plans for this move long ago, but in my naiveté, I thought Revel was a new name for the same operation I was accostomed to, and that the same screens I had been working with would appear, and it would be seamless. Now it appears to be too late to consider anything other than Revel with all its shortcomings.

What exactly do you mean by “if you do not currently have these files in your computer”? Are you speaking of the Photoshop filing system? Or of some other place where that might reside? I’ve no idea where that might be. Tell me where to look.
Some people put their files in Photoshop.com and deleted them from their computer We recommend that hose people use our media downloader to copy the files back to their own computer to have a copy if they do not want to lose their non-jpg files or if they do not want the onlly copy to be on Revel. If you have the files saved on your computer and you were using Elements sync to keep a copy on Photoshop.com, then this may not be necessary for you.
When photos are downloaded to my computer they go into My Pictures sorted into folders by download date. So there is no way to label each folder with the contents, which might be a combination of ancestry photo scans and current events. Photoshop is able to pick out the ones I’ve identified should be in differently sorted categories and keywords. This feature will be missing in Revel, as I understand it.
The tags you entered in Elements do not currently show up in Revel.
The media downloader window that appears tells me that I don’t need to download. You say I do. Explain the ins and outs of this.

Yes, the massage said my files were successfully migrated except for certain file types, and to save those I should archive. In my earlier response I asked about archiving, but the issue here is that only about 40 photos were showing when that message came and I opened Revel to see. My collection is 99% .jpg. I am not a collector of videos, etc.
You had 296 files stored in Photoshop.com. 293 of them migrated to Revel. I assume the other 3 were of another file type. If you are expecting more files, it may be that you have a bunch of files in Elements that were not synced with Photoshop.com. Since we only migrated files from Photoshop.com, those files would still be on your computer, but not in Revel.
You mentioned moving the files manually. How is this done, and what are the advantages? The downsides?
If you have Elements 11, you can upload to Revel from there. If not, then you would need to know where the photos are stored on you hard drive and you could upload to Revel from there. This link shows how to upload:

I so much appreciate having a real person with whom to talk about my issues. I’ve mentioned this change to a couple of friends, and have found that very few of them collect photos in any organized fashion. This came as a shock to me. It’s like my mother’s system was – print them and toss them into a box with no sorting, no dating, no identification of the subjects. I resolved to do better, and this system is (was) perfect.
Many people do print and put photos in a box, and in the digital world today, many just store them on their hard drive with no organization. Having a backup copy of the photos on the cloud like Revel or on an external hard disk is a good way to ensure your memories are never lost.

Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter problem: no sound.

I couldn't find a more suited thread to discuss my issue so, this can be moved in deemed necessary. I recently purchased a DVI cable, seen below, but all I can get is the video to work. When I use the appropriate yellow cable for sound, the TV won't pick it up. It really seems like this is something that can't be fixed, but I figure it is worth asking about. Thanks.

The yellow cable is likely not an audio cable, but an S-Video cable, useful for some projectors that don't have a VGA or DVI port, or many TVs which only support S-Video. If you want audio separate from the computer, most speaker systems at least support RCA Red/White left/right channel sound into the 1/8th inch audio port found on most Macs. Some Macs and sound software as outlined here offer additional channels for sound:

How do I file a complaint with Verizon??

I have been a Verizon customer for many years, since 2009 I believe. I recently bought a house in March, and moved my service from my old address to my new address. Since our offer on our house got accepted and we initiated the process of moving our service, I have had nothing but problems. They cancelled our service a day earlier than requested at our old address. I was told by verizon on mulitple occasions that on the day that service was to be started at my new address that a verizon technician was just going to check a few things on the outside of the house, and that they would not need to come inside. I got a phone call right as I was getting ready to walk into settlement from the technician saying that I was misinformed and that he did infact need to come inside. When I finally made it to the house, he came inside, plugged in the router to a phone jack and then left. I was then charged a fee that I had been previously told would not be charged (although I did get it credited back to my account later). A few moths after moving into my new home, I get a phone call from a verizon representative saying that someone was trying to activate a new account at an address at which I had an existing account. They still had an active account in my name at my old address which was amazing since they had shut my service off a day earlier than planned. I could go on and on and on with the countless issues. The experience I had today just pushed me over the edge. A technician had to come out to my home in the beginning of August to move the service box from one wall to another. I was told when I made the service appointment that I was not going to be charged since it was being moved for a necessary reason, not just convenience. When the technician left, he told me there was a $91 dollar charge. I called and spoke with a supervisor as soon as he left, and was told that I should not be charged that fee becuase again, it was moved because of necessary construction, not just convenience. She told me that it should not appear on my bill, but if it did to call and it would be removed. I looked at my bill today, and low and behold there was that $91 dollar charge. I spoke with a representative that stated she could see in the call history that I was told that I would not be charged, and that a credit would be initiated, but that it would take 1 - 2 billing cycles for that credit to show up, meaning that i am expected to pay it for now. It was the mistake of Verizon for the charge to be put on the bill in the first place, and I am being told that I am expected to pay for their mistake now, and would get the money credited back later. I just moved into a new home so that we could move my disabled mother in law in with us to care for her. I dont have an extra $91 dollars laying around. I have had nothing but negative experiences with Verizon over the last 6 months. There is no consistency from one conversation to the next, and I am always told something different. 99% of the representatives that I have ever spoken too have shown no compassion or desire to have good customer service and this includes many supervisors. I am VERY STRONGLY considering cancelling my account with Verizon all together and am exploring other options for my internet and cable. Please can someone help me??

Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". Unable to log into Facebook for BlackBerry 10 since last year

Please help me understand why the facebook app for BlackBerry 10 doesn't allow me to login at all. See the attached screen shot which may not successfully load (error message reads as follows "sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later), I haven't had the chance to even submit my login credentials. This has happened every single time I click the app for several months now.
Bought my Z30 last year summer/ fall and love it except for the lack of app selections.
However no luck even after the two BlackBerry 10 OS updates to 10.2.1 and the last two Facebook for BlackBerry 10 updates to 10.4.0.12. Un-installing, re-installing, deleting from phone and also removing from My BlackBerry World account did not work.
I have no problems logging into the facebook app made for iPhone, iPad. I'm able to login into my Facebook on Mac computer. Windows computer and even on the BlackBerry browser.
I have already exhausted my options with hours on the phone with tech support at Phone company.
I am hoping I can get some help without having to wipe my phone completely or having to send it into the phone company.
In addition, they will give me a loaner which so far I'm told all their stores only have z10 and no Z30s to give me while my Z30 will be in for repairs.
Any useful advice would be appreciated. Please read the above in its entirety before responding so you will know what I have already done.

Photoshop.com is gone. If you had photos stored there, you should have received a series of emails about their being moved to Revel. You can't sign in because there's nothing to sign in to.

Error when running oracle seeded page in Jdeveloper 9i

All,
I have moved all the necessary files fro server to JDeveloper my classes as well as JDeveloper my projects
But when run a page in JDeveloper in the following path C:\JDEV\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\oracle\apps\oie\audit\webui\OIE_AUD_AUDIT_PAGE i am getting the below error But i can able to run helloworld page from toolbox.jws
"*oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Application: FND, Message Name: FND-INVALID APPLICATION. Tokens: APPL = oie; (Could not lookup message because there is no database connection)*"

They're not available because photoshop.com is dead and gone, and any photos there are moved to revel, which you can't access through PSE versions prior to PSE 11. You should have received a bunch of emails about this back when it was happening.

Bought elements 10 last month and can't use the edit feature.

So I got elements 10 with a Wacom Bamboo Capture around April 23rd last month. I created a new adobe id and signed in. It asked me to update my account and add my birthday, personal URL for photoshop, and agree to the terms. Everytime I've tried to do this during the past few weeks I always get an error/failure message. I acknowledge that photoshop is moving to revel and that's probably the reason why I can't complete my sign in. I've already asked adobe with a live chat and they suggested I come here to the forums. Is there any way to use the edit feature now? ele

Just don't use the welcome screen. If you use Windows, go into the program files or program files(x86) for 64-bit systems, find the actual .exe/application file for the editor, right click it and make a desktop shortcut and use that instead of the welcome screen to launch the editor. For macs, it's in applications>adobe photoshop elements 10>support files.
