Issue with GP getting into Erroneous State

Hi Experts
I have an issue with GP Process getting into Erroneous State. We have a series of steps in the Guided Procedure Process. The process instance passes a few of the initial steps in the procedure and getting struck at a particular step and leading the process to erroneous state.
I am just trying to find out what would be the possible reasons for a process to get into erroneous state.
Kindly get us all possible suggestions to find the root cause for this issue.

Thanks a ton for responding to my query.
It is a User Interface Callable Object. Can you please elaborate on this in detailed manner. I have assigned the right user account to manage the execution role. Below is what I have done.
In the GP Process, there are 4 default roles 1. Owner, 2. Default Processor, 3. Overseer 4. Administrator. All these were mapped with one ID from UME. What is the problem in this? Kindly let me know.

Issue with Select options in select statement - ABAP Question

I am facing an issue with select options. Select statement is returning sy-subrc as 4.
I wrote the program as below:
SELECT-OPTIONS:
s_kunnr FOR bsad-kunnr,
s_lifnr FOR bsak-lifnr,
s_gjahr FOR bsad-gjahr,
s_bukrs FOR bsad-bukrs,
s_saknr FOR bsad-saknr,
s_budat FOR bsak-budat.
In start of selection I have written the select statement as
SELECT * FROM bsak INTO TABLE lt_bsak
WHERE bukrs IN s_bukrs AND lifnr = s_lifnr AND gjahr IN s_gjahr AND budat IN s_budat AND saknr IN s_saknr.
In selection screen I have not entered any values and executed the program. I am not getting any result. When I debug that, sy-subrc is 4 at above select statement. But table has records.
If am removing the "lifnr = s_lifnr " condition in select then select is returning values.
I am not getting where I made the mistake. Please suggest.

The problem here with where condition select option lifnr = s_lifnr.
Use below select query.
SELECT * FROM bsak INTO TABLE lt_bsak
WHERE bukrs IN s_bukrs
    AND lifnr     IN s_lifnr

    AND budat IN s_budat
    AND saknr IN s_saknr.
s_lifnr is a select option and you are passing it as parameter lifnr = s_lifnr.
if you want to pass this s_lifnr as single vale then pass in below mentioned way.

I had two issues with this ITSM way of session handling.
First - if you are using an SP42 environment, check CL_BSP_RUNTIME=>ON_SESSION_CMD() to see if CANCEL is defined as an option. If not make sure that you use &sap-sessioncmd=CLOSE" instead of the &sap-sessioncmd=CANCEL" . If CANCEL is not defined , it will give you shortdumps...
Second - when I closed the window, the session was not terminated. I used onbeforeUnLoad="exitBSPApplication(); instead of onUnLoad="exitBSPApplication(); and it worked fine. Not sure if it has any other issues.
But now I am facing a new issue... all but one application is not ending... I have no clue on why this is happening.. I am still checking..

After some investigation, I found the behavior as explained below.
If the actual url has any fields passed as parameters, e.g.. /default.htm?var1=a&var2=2 ...
- if I use CANCEL as the option, a shortdump is created and the session is not closed. if I use CLOSE, Session is terminated and no shortdump happens.
If the actual url does not have any parameters, e.g.. /default.htm ...
- CANCEL does the work, but CLOSE does not exit the session.
In my applications I used request->get_form_fields to see if there are any parameters, and if there are, then I use CLOSE as the option and else, I use CANCEL. So now, the session
management works beautifully...
There is a good chance that I am doing something wrong here too.

Issue with ProRes importing into Premiere CC in Windows

Hey all,
I realize the futility of using ProRes in a Windows environment, so I figured I'd just get that out of the way right off the bat. This is how I received the footage from the client and it's too much to try and convert into another codec (though if I must, I will, I'd just like to avoid it). Even so, I didn't really have an issue with this until I tried to work in CC.
I started this project in Premiere CS5 and was having no issues. I received some AE files in CC and decided I'd bite the bullet and move to the latest and greatest rather than try and rebuild the projects in CS5. I download, install, update, open up Premiere to rebuild the short edit, and then find that when I import ProRes files, all I get is audio, no video. I can import other codecs just fine, it's just ProRes that's refusing.
I've made sure Quicktime and the Windows QT Decoder for ProRes are updated, as well as Premiere CC. I've currently got all my work files bundled up on a drive to take to my 9 to 5 and work on a Mac on my lunch break, but for obvious reasons, I'd like to be able to work at home.
This client doesn't provide enough work to warrant a new Mac purchase, and I'm just at wit's end. It worked fine in CS5, why not in CC?
Here's my specs:
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Premiere Pro CC 7.0.1
Quicktime (fully updated)
Quicktime ProRes Decoder for Windows (fully updated)
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Issue with request.get parameter

Hi all,
I am working on a developing a for the users to request access to portal. on submit of the form a mail is sent to user and a page for the successful submission is displayed.
When transported to Q system we started to get a null pointer exception on submitting the initial form. On investigating further I saw that the request.get parameter is not getting the values in the second page.Please let me know if there is any thing to be done at the portal level to solve this issue. As it is the same code and iview on both the systems.

It might be issue with Permissions, And also Everyone role with end user permission is assigned or not in QA.
Compare the permissions in dev and qa to resolve the issue.

Issue with Mini getting Self Assigned IP from recently purchased AEBS

I'm having a strange issue with the Airport Extreme Base Station I got got today. It can connect to the internet fine but it appears not to be assigning a network ID to my Mini. I can manually assign the proper IP Address & Subnet Mask settings but using "Using DCHP" yields an IP address of 169.254.x.x, a Subnet Mask of 255.255.0.0, and a nonfunctional internet connection. The situation occurs using both Ethernet & AirPort. My Vonage router seems to operate fine so I know the router is working otherwise.

This way, when the Mac is set to "Using DCHP", the IP address should be assigned to the Mac automatically.

But make sure you turn OFF the DHCP on the Vonage Router, there can only be one DHCP on a subnet.
Still trying to figure out how to do that on the Vonage router but I should point out when I powered down & completely removed the Vonage router and reset every other device on the network it made no impact.

Flashing question mark on powerbook G4 I screwed up! Tried to get into original state on Tiger 10.4.11 and wound up coming up with 9.2.2 for a short time and now just flashing question mark?

This was stupid of me. I have tried everything to get back to the basic OS. There is no worry about what is on the hard disk, because I wanted everything erased anyway. My original disk has 9.2.2 and 10.3 on it. I understand that the problem is that it was running on 10.4.11 great and then the system got confused when I installed the older system disk. i have tried everything what the support community suggested to me on-line and hopefully someone can help me to get the system reset.
I have been to the Apple Genius bar, however they told me that the system was to old and they lack the tools. this Powerbook does not have a firewire port and I guess this constitutes one of the problems. I applied the original to two other Mac Books - newer vintages - and it worked OK.

You will have to resintall your OS. You will need your Tiger installer DVD to reinstall Tiger. If you have not already erased the drive (still have the old Tiger system on it:)
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.
If you do not have your Tiger DVD then you will have to reinstall 10.3, but to do that you will have to erase the hard drive first.

Issue with batch load into bpel through MQ Urgent

Hi Guys,
I am stuck with an issue and need your help and suggestions.
I am working in a project where there is a synch bpel process in which there is a MQ adapter which picks up messages from a source queue which is populated by an external application. This bpel process calls another bpel process in which there is a sychronous call to an external webservice which updates the payload and bpel puts that payload in an output queue.
The input queue is continuously populated with a lost of messages like - 100k messages in 1 hr (in 2 or 3 intervals) and MQ picks up all the messages even if they are 100k in a second and gives it to bpel.
Everything runs fine until the external webservice which is called is up and running or it is completely down. But the issue is sometimes when the external webservice is up but is unresponsive for sometime(it does garbage collection or dump or something which we don't have control on) all the instances in bpel are in running and pending state until the response is given. And in this mean time MQ adapter still polls the source queue and gives it to bpel. so what is happening is the number of pending req's are getting increased by very percentage and soa is becoming unstable. Eventually when the external service is up all these instances are completed but will take long time to do it.
---> So the solutions which came to me was, block MQ adapter from sending messages to bpel when the external service is doing the garbage collection, but we dont seem to have any control of that sort on MQ adapter. if any please suggest.
There are 2 prop for MQ adapter -- inboundthreadcount and delaybetweenmessages which can be tried out but it will effect the overall throughput which is not desired.
---> Another was we tried to make the call to the external service asynch but we cannot do that as the external service is a synch process and we cannot call it ashyncronously.
---> The timeout value for the external webserive is 10sec but the issue here is when it is busy doin some other work, it is not taking the input from bpel and so not able to give timeout fault. And also the we are not getting a remote fault as the service is reachable and active.
---> There is one other property which is SyncMaxWaitTime in Oracle BPEL properties in enterprise console where we can set the max wait time for an instance to wait to get the reponse or it will time out at bpel level and that can be handled in bpel and continued with the flow. the default value is 45sec and by decreasing it we may achieve gud results but setting it at domain level will take effect to all the composites (and i dnt think client will be ok with it).
(If there is any property which we can set at composite level then Please suggest)

Issue with splitting string into multiple lines

Here as we can see last characters are getting deleted by program. For example in first line
determine 'r' is missing in extreme right.
In 3rd line c is missing in extreme left (word change is needed. Program
prints hange.
Also in 3rd line extreme right 't' is missing
Also in 4th line extreme right 'a' is missing
Also the last line is not being printed. In last line "CO2." " should appear.
There are two issues:
1. Why last word of each sentence is not being printed?
2. Why last sentence is not being printed?
I am struggling since last 2 days. Please help. I made all changes like replacing 72 by 71 etc.
By making such changes, I am able to print first line correctly. However under all cases
last character of 2nd line onward is not getting displayed.
Also last line is not getting displayed. I did every thing like using while instead of for loop etc.
Kindly help.

Issue with using GET n SET Parameter in module pool programming.

Filling an Initial Screen using SPA/GPA Parameters
To fill the input fields of a called transaction with data from the calling program, you can use the SPA/GPA technique. SPA/GPA parameters are values that the system stores in the global, user-specific SAP memory. SAP memory allows you to pass values between programs. A user can access the values stored in the SAP memory during one terminal session for all parallel sessions. Each SPA/GPA parameter is identified by a 20-character code. You can maintain them in the Repository Browser in the ABAP Workbench. The values in SPA/GPA parameters are user-specific.
ABAP programs can access the parameters using the SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETER statements.
To fill one, use:
SET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
This statement saves the contents of field <f> under the ID <pid> in the SAP memory. The code <pid> can be up to 20 characters long. If there was already a value stored under <pid>, this statement overwrites it. If the ID <pid> does not exist, double-click <pid> in the ABAP Editor to create a new parameter object.
To read an SPA/GPA parameter, use:
GET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
This statement fills the value stored under the ID <pid> into the variable <f>. If the system does not find a value for <pid> in the SAP memory, it sets SY-SUBRC to 4, otherwise to 0.
To fill the initial screen of a program using SPA/GPA parameters, you normally only need the SET PARAMETER statement.
The relevant fields must each be linked to an SPA/GPA parameter.
On a selection screen, you link fields to parameters using the MEMORY ID addition in the PARAMETERS or SELECT-OPTIONS statement. If you specify an SPA/GPA parameter ID when you declare a parameter or selection option, the corresponding input field is linked to that input field.
On a screen, you link fields to parameters in the Screen Painter. When you define the field attributes of an input field, you can enter the name of an SPA/GPA parameter in the Parameter ID field in the screen attributes. The SET parameter and GET parameter checkboxes allow you to specify whether the field should be filled from the corresponding SPA/GPA parameter in the PBO event, and whether the SPA/GPA parameter should be filled with the value from the screen in the PAI event.
When an input field is linked to an SPA/GPA parameter, it is initialized with the current value of the parameter each time the screen is displayed. This is the reason why fields on screens in the R/3 System often already contain values when you call them more than once.
When you call programs, you can use SPA/GPA parameters with no additional programming overhead if, for example, you need to fill obligatory fields on the initial screen of the called program. The system simply transfers the values from the parameters into the input fields of the called program.
However, you can control the contents of the parameters from your program by using the SET PARAMETER statement before the actual program call. This technique is particularly useful if you want to skip the initial screen of the called program and that screen contains obligatory fields.
If you want to set SPA/GPA parameters before a program call, you need to know which parameters are linked to which fields on the initial screen. A simple way of doing this is to start the program that you want to call, place the cursor on the input fields, and choose F1 followed by Technical info. The Parameter ID field contains the name of the corresponding SPA/GPA parameter. Alternatively, you can look at the screen definition in the Screen Painter.
The technical information for the first input field of the booking transaction TCG2 looks like this:

The basic list of the program shows fields from the database table SBOOK according to the user entries on the selection screen. These data are also stored in the HIDE areas of each line.
If the user selects a line of booking data by double-clicking, the system triggers the AT LINE-SELECTION event and takes the data stored in the HIDE area to fill them into the SPA/GPA parameters of the initial screen of the transaction. Then it calls the transaction. Since you do not suppress the initial screen using AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN, the initial screen may appear as follows:
If you would use the AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN option with the CALL TRANSACTION statement, the second screen would appear immediately, since all obligatory fields of the first screen are filled.

Is anyone else having issues with importing files into FCP X

Trying to import .mov files from older system into FCP X on a new iMac with Lion OSX. Anyone else having similar issues?

What kind of files are they?
You may open them in Quicktime Player, and do a "Get Info" on them, and post that information here.
It may be that they use some codec that FCP X can't handle.
If that is the case, use the excellent and free program MPEG Streamclip to save them to Quicktime format using the ProRes codec.

We have been using APEX 3 for some time and are now migrating to APEX 4. We have a request for a new application that will require uploading spreadsheets. From other developers, I know it can be done in a few ways. The only thing we have done before is limitied - storing them in BLOBs.
With the Websheets in APEX 4, users could load them directly into the database.
But the anti-virus issue has always been unclear. For the apps that we are allowing to upload to BLOBs, they are small user, internal apps so we hope that our enterprise desktop software will stop a bad file before it gets uploaded.
We have gotten some questions about allowing outside-our-network people to upload spreadsheets or maybe even the public. So far, our security people have just said no - but I wondered what everyone else is doing?
Are there any White Papers or articles on this? My general impression is that anti-virus software has to be installed at the server level to deal with this.
If anyone can provide some guidance, I would appreciate it as I have to figure out what to tell the development team requesting to do this.

Do you have to take excel format? CSV would be a lot safer.

HELP!!! the session hang with a merge into sql statement

This problem is due to merge into a bug caused it??
i have a product run on 10.2.0.4 . OS is aix 5.3 .
today i found the product running over 24,000 sec and the current sql have run 23,734.
Anomaly the sql Should be a quick end but run so long time.

Issue with std GET method GET_PROPERTY_AS_VALUE

Hi,
We have created a Z field using AET in WebUI which is already moved to Production system. This field has a Get and Set method customized to populate its value.
Now we have included similar field with a similar logic. The issue is that now the earlier field is not able to read certain attribute values using the standard method IF_BOL_BO_PROPERTY_ACCESS~GET_PROPERTY_AS_VALUE

We have not made any changes in the code, then why the system is unable to read the attribute value in our Test client.
Any hints?

Hi Pepe,
Cant answer your question without debugging but below are few things you can try out:
1. In case you are writing custom code, try to use other method like get_property_as_string or get_property and see if they return a value.
2. Check your design layer if both the fields are present there.
I don't see any other reason. If no luck with above two then please raise an OSS.

Issues with simulations inserted into Powerpoint projects

When I import PowerPoint slides into a Captivate project, all is fine. However when I try to insert screens from a simulation recording, the simulation screens that appear only display about 80% of the recorded screen capture. I am trying to determine if this is a screen resolution issue, but this only happens with the simulation files. I also have inserted a quiz in the project and it works fine. Any ideas?

What are the Project Resolution of Parent and the Simulation Project? Is it same? If it is not, please make sure that the following option is checked in Parent Project before copy/pasting slides from the Simulation Project to the Parent project.
Go to Edit>Preferences menu, Check 'Rescale imported/Pasted slides' check box in the Global: General Settings., and then try a Copy/Paste.
