JSP generates error - thread.java:481 - Source code viewing is disabled

I run IBM WebSphere 3.5.3 on a WinNT platform. When I try to run my JSP testpage (which is a normal HTML page with jsp extension) I get the error message:
thread.java:481 - Source code viewing is disabled.
What is this? What can I do to get it running?
I have made the webapplication and application server and it seems to run fine.

I thought I had done it correctly, but I must have missed out on something. I tried my jsp code in the "examples" folder and it worked there. I am now using the "examples" folder instead. Thanks for your reply :)

Error during analysis of source code

Hi,
I am trying to add a field to the search criteria and i have followed the steps as given in the cook book. I am stuck at a point where on trying to add the custom field to the existing code i get an error message - "Error during analysis of Source code". This pop up comes at the end of the wizard.
I also tried to create a new context node but at the end of the wizard i get the pop up and the same message inside.
I searched in SDN and found out that this error could occur if the context node class is not active. In my case, all the three classes : Controller , context and context node class are active.
Could some one throw some light as to why this error message occurs?

How to get / view Java Sound source code

Hi All,
I'm curious to view the Java Sound source code, is that possible? Let me know what I have done so far,
1. In eclipse I have mapped the src.zip from the JDK directory, now I am able to view most of the source code.
2. When I try to view AudioSystem.getProviders method it returns value from JDK13Services.getProviders
But I dont have source code for JDK13Services class, indeed i don't have com.sun.media package source code, in the src.zip
Do anyone know how to get com.sun.media package source code?

I was wondering, what is Java SE written in? Can't be Java right? Since thats like the chicken and the egg. Can't write in Java unless you have a platform to interpret Java code into byte code, but if the platform is written in Java... what is interpreting the platform? So you write the 0.0.1 compiler and runtime in something else.
Using that you create and compile a Java version that you call 0.0.2.
You now have a compiler written in Java that can compile Java.
The runtime is a bit more complex as it needs some platform specific bootstrapping code, but most of that can be written in Java as well.
And that's no theory, it's what actually happens (and not just with Java).
Not everything is Java, but a good chunk certainly is (or can be).

Why are the Java Library source code classes not indented properly?

I have always admired the design of a lot of classes and frameworks in the JDK. I read the source code a lot to see how the developers coded a particular class, how they designed it and how they write the javadocs.

How to execute Custom java data source LOV view object from a common mthd?

Hi,
My application contains Custom java data source implemented LOVs. I want to have a util method which gets the view accessor name, find the view accessor and execute it. But i couldn't find any API to get the view accessors by passing the name.
Can anyone help me iin how best view accessors can be accessed in common but no by creating ViewRowImpl class (By every developer) and by accessing the RowSet getters?

My application is not data base driven. Data transaction happens using tuxedo server.

There is no Oracle View Like DBA/ALL/USER_SOURCE to view source of constraints and Indexes. You can view information of these objects from DBA/ALL/USER_CONSTRAINTS, DBA/ALL/USER_INDEXES.
In addition, you can use dbms_metadata.get_dependent_ddl for this purpose:

I want to generate the code of a java class programatically based on this template:

Error thread java : problem with the function "resume 0x***" (forum sun)

One problem with the function of jdb occured when I tried to use it to
pilot the processor with differents threads. In fact, I use a simple example with 2 threads.
I stop the two threads with two breakpoint, and I want to resume one or the other (with the function "resume 0x****"), the one wich I resumed stop again on the breackpoint and I decide again to resume one or the other. All of that to obtain a tree of execution.

I have read the FAQ of the JMF.
The problem was the jar files of the JMF were not in the JRE\BIN\EXT

jasper allows csv as data source.. jasper has JRCsvDataSource class and methods for handling it.

There are a number of examples in the plugins directory. If you are on 5.9, look at the ones that have no .cs files.
The connection is created for you automatically in NPBasePage. I gave you an example of using it in your other post.
I can't give you a complete example because the forum does not allow script tags to be posted.
If you use the API objects you should be able to get most of the data you need. If you want to do a direct query of the db you can use ADO or the the DataFunctions, which are simply a wrapper of ADO. Following is an example of using the DataFunctions:

How to read the Java source code (in Netbeans)

I use OS X10.5.5, NetBeans 6.1 and JSE 6 on a 64 bit mac.
When I downloaded NB6.1 it had JSE 5 as it's default (and only) java platform. I ran Software Update to get Java 6 from Apple, used the Java Prefrences utitlity to set JSE6 as default. In NB I added the JDK6 platform, registered the JDK6 javadocs and noticed that I also have the option of registering the Java source code.
I have three questions:
1) How do I make JDK6 the default in NetBeans. The JDK5 keeps being default after I did the steps above and I don't see anywhere to change that.
2) How do I read the Java 6 source code? I can see sun provides [source code| http://download.java.net/jdk6/] for their supported platforms. I dont see Apple doing the same for its JDK port. What would I need to do to get to read the java SE6 sources? or is it actually hiding somewhere in the /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home hierarchy?
3) Where does the JVM look for the binary code to run when I make a call to, say java.util.ArrayList or any other library. In my naivety I would have assumed it would be a .class file somewhere in the java Home folder, but I don't see anything like it.

To register a new Java platform:
Choose Tools > Java Platforms from the main window.
Click New Platform and select the directory that contains the Java platform. Java platform directories are marked with a
in the file chooser.
Use the Sources and Javadoc tabs to attach Javadoc documentation and source code for debugging to the platform.
Click Close.
To set the default Java platform for a standard project:
Right-click the project's root node in the Projects window and choose Properties.
In the Project Properties dialog box, select the Libraries node in the left pane.
Choose the desired Java platform in the Java Platform combo box.
Switching the target JDK for a standard project does the following:
Offers the new target JDK's classes for code completion.
If available, displays the target JDK's source code and Javadoc documentation.
Uses the target JDK's executables (javac and java) to compile and execute your application.
Compiles your source code against the target JDK's libraries.
If you want to register additional Java platforms with the IDE, you can do so by clicking the Manage Platforms button.
Then click the Add Platform button and navigate to the desired platform.
To set the target Java platform for a free-form project:
In your Ant script, set the target JDK as desired in the javac, java, and javadoc tasks.
Right-click the project's root node in the Projects window and choose Properties.
In the Sources panel, set the level of JDK you want your application to be run on in the Source/Binary Format combo box.
When you access Javadoc or source code for JDK classes, the IDE searches the Java platforms registered in the
Java Platform Manager for a platform with a matching version number. If no matching platform is found, the IDE's default platform is used instead.
