Lack of BT products since 20th Jan 2014 first day ...

I ordered BT infinity2 (because I was told I could get infinity 2 speed) the first issue I found out that I can only get infinity 1.
Along with the infinity I ordered the Phone line and TV on the 20th of Jan 2014, it is now the 31 Mar 2014 they have just got the pone line sorted, and when my wife said fine now fix the broadband and TV after he wascshown the issue my wife was told we need an engineer for the broadban and an other engineer for the TV. I was informed by BT engineering that they do not have enineers that can do all 3 products is this not a waste of resources and manpower.?
besides all that I have been informed you cant cancel your BT contract untill the engineering team cant fix it, well I think 20th Jan until now is long enough and they still wont let me cancel. Myself and my wife have lost money by taking time off waitingvfor BT and some of them only to find that they havent been booked only a line test,I ask for an engineer for a Saturday and get told they dont work Saturdays,  that is funny how an enginer was at my house lsst weekend trying to fix the issue but only making it worse.
Now I have now raised it with ombudsmen and an email to a UK team member to pass to Managment.
If no reply tomorrow then it will be a letter to the CEO Gavin Paterson to be signed for on delivery

    if you want help then in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).
    are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
    Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

  • PS CC (since JAN 2014 update) Layer-mask editing causes hangs/crashes

    ONLY since JAN 2014 update, PS CC has been hanging/crashing when I paint/edit a layer mask. All may be well at first (or not), but suddenly the display of the mask (or mask overlay on the layer itself, as shown when hitting backslash key) is not shown in full but renders in s-l-o-w-l-y in rectilinear pieces <snapshot below was taken before video card upgraded but is still typical of what I mean>. When I view Windows' Task Manager for PS, I see my CPUs are each working at their upper limits (up to 80+-90+%), varying only by a few points, over a VERY long time... which could be MANY minutes. OR the System has decided PS is Not Responding.
    In any case, whenever this happens, it means in all practicality PS CC is not working, so I either kill it or it's crashed.
    Now, here's the thing: that VERY file, can immediately be opened in PS CS6 (which I have fortunately kept installed on my computer), and the mask will be as I thought it should be, and I can edit it as I always could, just fine! So it's obviously a PS CC thing, and I do NOT recall this happening prior to the JAN update. It is still a problem after the two subsequent updates.
    I have not been able to determine the specific instances when this happens, as it seems to happen whenever I am editing a mask, no matter what size/softness/color brush, what magnification, what view mode, many or few layers, big or small file, etc.
    I did upgrade my NVIDIA card (from GeForce GTX 260 [with current driver] to GTX660), just in case it was a factor (maybe kept it from crashing as fast? hard to tell... but it's still an unworkable problem). You can see from my Sys Info shown here from the PS CC Help menu  that it should be more than sufficient for any PS CC task, and it's running the latest driver:

    I work on digital-photography files, and use a layer mask in almost every file, so this relatively-recent bug is a big PITA, having to switch back and forth between CS6 and CC!
    Until there's a fix... is there a way to roll-back my PS CC version to BEFORE the JAN 15, 2014 update?

    I am not qualified to comment on technical issues; I'm just a user whose son in IT is my 'technical support department.' (But he's not much of a PS user.)
    I'm pretty sure, however, that all my Prefs were set to the same things BEFORE the Jan 16, 2014 PS CC update as after (unless the update itself changed something I was unaware of... the settings APPEARED to be the same but I can't easily locate my notes of what my Prefs were from long ago).
    And they were the same as the PS CS6 I have had installed on this same system for a very long time, with older video card with older driver, with newer driver; newer video card with newest driver, etc. Yet after that CC update, CC has not (until this workaround) worked re 'the masking bug' for me, yet CS6 has always worked just the same.
    So I conclude that the only variable (other than the video card upgrade I did in an attempt to solve this and of course those Windows auto-updates) in this scenario IS something to do with PS *CC*, and after Jan 16, 2014.
    As for restarting the machine vs. restarting PS, well, PS is the major player of my system, so when I shut that (and LR) down, I might as well 'clean things up' by Restarting. BTW, I am in the habit of closing and reopening PS (CC or CS6) whenever I finish with a file and load another, in order to get back some of that memory which PS never seems to want to let go. (This is not new to the latest versions, I think. My son says it's a 'memory hog'? ;-) ) I track its memory use in Windows' Task Manager and find that seems to let it 'refresh' itself. (See, I told you I'm not a technical person. ;-) ) But I do not think this has anything to do with the bug. Just a quirk of PS. Like when a tool goes all wonky (for example, its little icon becomes just a 'plus' sign even though the tool is still performing correctly, it's telling me, I think, that it would like to be restarted. And that makes it feel all better... I mean, tool icon reappears.)
    Anyway... it's up to Adobe to figure out IF and what may be wrong with PS CC -- it still doesn't work for me as I had it configured at first, and I think it should, right? -- and to fix that... PLEASE. SOON.

  • Phone outage since 20th December.

    I've had an unusable phone line since 20th December extremely loud crackling, unable to make or receive calls, sometimes no dial tone at all. This fault is intermittently affecting my broadband which, being FTTC, indicates a fault my side of the cabinet.  I ran the line test which decided that the fault was in the network and an engineer was booked. 
    I had a call after a day or so to tell me that, what with the holiday period and bad weather, they wouldn;t be avle to get to me until the 31st. OK I was happy with that as I was not working during that period. 
    31st December and the engineer duly arrived. Ran line tests from the master socket and said the fault was 130m away. He went for a walk and when he came back he said he couldn't find a cabinet at that distance. He went out again for a while and eventually told me he'd found an upstream cabinet with some rather corroded connections which he cleaned. We checked the line and it seemed to work. So far, so good. He left.
    I was away from home for New Year but discovered that same afternoon that I could not connect to my home broadband and that I could not call my house; the call being diverted straight to BT Answer.
    On 1st Jan, I had a follow up call from Connor who told me he had discovered the same thing and that he'd report it as not fixed. It ought to be looked at within 3 days.
    Today I chased up the fault and had a very frustrating conversation with a support technician who told me that the fault had magically moved into my premises, and read a long spiel on how much it might cost me if the fault is mine. OK this is rather threatening but I'm secure in the knowledge that the only two items connected to the master socket is my cordless phone base station and the BT-supplied Infinity VDSL modem.
    The engineer instructed me to unscrew the front plate and connect my phone directly to the engineer's socket; the fault still existed. Still the engineer insisted his “diagnostic software” was able to detect that the fault was inside my premises and therefore he coudl only offer me an appointment of the 14th January. That's 45 days from the first report!
    All I want is to get the OpenReach engineer to have another go at finding the fault he detected 130m from my house, perhaps coming armed with the local cabinet location.
    How can I get the engineer to return? I work at home and, while I have 3G backup for my internet connection, it is extremely disrupting to have to keep switching over when the network dies, in addition to the obvious difficulty in having no phone connection.

  • How do I get rid of the trial question on my Premier elements - which I purchased in Jan 2014

    The answer would be expected to be....
    When you are given the Trial Message, click on the tab that says License The Product (or something like that) and then follow the instructions which will include inserting your purchased serial number.

    Since applying the Jan 2014 driver updates one of our images downloads and fails to boot.
    File \Windows\System32\winload.exe
    Stauts 0xc000000f
    The image size is 86 Gig.
    Does anyone know if there is a image size limit.
    Switching back to the previous driver set and there are no problems, but we need to support new hardware so need the Jan 2014 drivers.

    I haven't seen any since December 20th. It is going to depend on your applications, and they usually close off the developer area around the holidays. If you want to check, go to the App Store link and click on Updates to see if there are any there. You can do that manually. There is no specific schedule as to when app updates come out.

  • Broadband activation passed (20 Jan 2014 ) still n...

    I decided to move from O2 to BT  on the 13/01/2014 and ordered both a bt line and broadband.I was given an activation date of 20/01/2014. Come the 20th both the phone line and broadband are not activated, I wait for bt to contact me as instructed via the BT website. I waited a few days and still nothing so I called in, I was then advised that there was a "Technical issue" and that my order would need to be cancelled and re-ordered and that my new activation would be on 24/01/2014. I waited patiently and come the 24th my phone line got activated however broadband didn't.
    At this point I was really getting annoyed and phoned up only to be told "Technical difficulty" and being promised by each different "advisor" I spoke to each day that my activation would be the following day. I was promised 26th,27th,28th and eventually on probably my 10th call in I get told my issue is being escualated to the Broadband order management team. I then get a call from them saying that will have to cancel and re order my broadband once again and that my broadband will be activaed on 31/01/2014 as they were going to tell the supplier to exipdite my order. Come the 31st still no activation, I call up one of the drones again and get told I promise you it will be working by 01/02/2014. The 1st comes and still no activation, I call up once more to then get informed that there is a "Routing Issue" and my new activation is the 06/02/2014 but he is expidting it so that i get activated on 04/02/2014 he also told me that he was handing my details to the "back office team" who will call me each day to inform me what was happening. No call nothing from them what so ever.
    So here I am on the 06/02/2014 a day after when my 4th or 5th? activation date was set and I still have no broadband.
    I can honestly say throughout my entire life that I have never dealt with such a useless customer service team.Its funny how when you call up to order you speak to a well informed person (UK based call centre) and that the minute the money is taken you get thrown to the wolves (No I am not racist). I have probably listened to at least 4-5 hours of Bach/Mozart whilst being on hold and can whistle the whole tune from memory.
    Loads of scripted answers are constantly used  and I get the impression that the so called "advisors" told to just make up any reasons they can on the spot to get a person off the phone to help boost their daily call count.
    Can any mods please help? I moved to BT as I was tempted by BT sport but if this is not recified in the next few days I will be cancelling, as you can see I have been more than patient.

    Got a call from one of the admins on this forum on monday 10/02/2014 and was informed that I was connected to the wrong exchange and that work was being done on it and that he would call me today 12/02/2014 with an update. I have received no call today. Could someone from the admin team on here please contact me tommorow as it appears you are the only people on BT capable of giving me an actual update on my order as opposed to one of the indian scripts.
    I have now been a complete month without internet and I am fed up of being passed around all the indian call centres. Who begin each sentence with "I will resolve your issue today for you sir". 
    If I do not receive a call tommorow I will be leaving, I have given you a month and you still haven't connected me and I have been lied to on nearly every phone call.

  • Premiere Pro random crashing since update to 2014.2

    Been working on the SAME big project over 18 months, in Pr Pro CC, 2014, working on the SAME PC:
    Win 7 SP1 pro 64bit, i7-3770K, 32GB fast memory (25.7 available for Pr), Intel HD 4000 graphics on Asus motherboard with 30" NEC Multisync screen at 2560 x 1600 (same as for years)
    42GB free on my SSD drive C: and 54GB free on my SSD drive S: for preview files, 24GB free on my SSD drive T: for caching files.  Project files etc stored on a normal hard drive F: (for Files!) 1.25TB free.
    NOW last update to 2014.2 and I get constant RANDOM crashes (Windows encountered a fault and had to close this program) despite updating graphics driver and trying different settings in preferences, use mercury etc.  No particular action causes it  - sometimes I am just watching it play a sequence and it just stops. Though of course it may be rendering the last edit at the time.
    Sometimes it runs for all of 15 mins and I think the problem has sorted then it goes again and I have to restart the project, find where I was and re-do my last edits.  If I remember to press Ctrl-S very frequently (every few seconds) it seems to run for a while then I forget for 5 mins and it crashes.
    Grrrr what did you do to the latest version, Adobe??  I need to get this project finally finished in a hurry.... I wish I had not updated the program!  Of course I cannot go back as it says the saved copy is now incompatible with earlier Pr Pro versions.
    I then tried running a previous version at the same time, as simonray suggested in his post - it worked!  So I am able to continue as normal provided I do this stupid bodge fix.
    So it really is down to Adobe as it is the same project, same PC, just different version update.  You did something to a great, stable, program that made it unstable, Adobe...
    To ANSWER RAMEEZ from previous thread:
    A variety of issues can cause PPRO to crash:
    a problem with the Preferences, or some other pref-related file in the Profile-<USERNAME> bin. >>  DIDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING since 1½ years running previous PrPro versions on SAME PROJECT on SAME PC
    the graphics driver  Checked for latest version - didn't stop the crashing
    third-party plug-ins - don't have any
    a problem with the cache files. I am using the same 2 x SSD I have been using for years for autosave and caching. 54GB free space / 24GB free space (current cache in place)
    a problem with the project file (if you're loading a project...)  Doesn't apply
    the Preferences files be set to read-only  How would that happen? Never happened before on any other update and I can change it.
    the user not having administrator rights  Only one user on PC since installation, full rights
    a conflict/incompatibility with some OS setting  Haven't changed anything
    a problem on the licensing/authentication side.  I'm signed up to full Adobe CC. Everything else works, Ps, Lr, Id ...
    A log file might help identify the cause of the crash. Please right-click 'My Computer', select "Manage," look under 'Event Viewer->Windows Logs->Application' to see if there's an event there from Premiere Pro. If so, copy the contents of that log and paste them here.

    Problem Solved! (with a small catch)
    While searching crashing issues I came across this thread,"Premiere Pro random crashing since update to 2014.2"
    Marc_Lec  Answered (and I paraphrase here)"...I had the same problem and this is what I did. In 'Preferences Memory'  I increased the memory reserved for other application to at least half the installed and changed the optimize render from 'performance' to 'memory."
    Thank You Marc_Lec for what has been a game changer for me since my last computer and the beginning of PremiereCC problems.
    I changed my Memory reserved for Other Applications from the default 7gigs to 1/2 of my approx.31 available Gigs = 16Gigs. Viola!
    No more crashing what-so-ever!
    I still have to purchase an older  GTX 980 graphics card to take advantage of Adobe's approved code to utilize X=Cuda Cores and GPU, but I think I'll hang onto my new TitanX, in hopes that Adobe will write code and approve it someday in the near future.
    Now why doesn't Adobe say this officially about Memory Settings? (I don't know maybe they do and I missed I somewhere)
    Mine and probably many peoples computers problems here on this board may be attributed to a simple Memory adjustment, because the computer needs more than 7Gigs to run itself, not to mention Premiere.

    I've a sync group stuck in "processing" state since 5 Sep 2014, have tried to restart the client PC, restarted the sync service and also tried to regenerate the sync agent key, but still in vain. Would anyone please help me to figure it out what's
    the problem? As I have many sync groups running without any problem for more than a year and encountered this problem recently (in this 3 months).

    I've checked the local agent has been offline at 2014/09/05 18:00:00 UTC+8, as the shop close every night and they will shut down the computer, but they've turned on the computer in next day morning, and they keep turning that off at night, turn
    back on at next morning.
    I've checked the agent was online during that "stuck" period when the computer was turned on, as I could click the "PING SYNC SERVICE" and it reported it could reach the sync server, and I could also view from the portal that the agent
    was online, just the sync group stuck in the "processing" status.

    As the client need the sync to be fixed ASAP, cannot wait for the answer / help, I've removed the sync agent, compare the data (what data need to download from Azure to client, what data need to upload from client to Azure) and recreate back the sync group.
