Linking logical database to TABLE in query

Can we link Logical Database to Table during query creation in tcode SQVI

go to sqvi and select "Table Join"in data source and enter title select radio button for "basis mode" and enter u reach a new screen in that new screen press "insert table" and give ur table name and again press "insert table" and give another table in thsi way we can joint table in ABAP query.

PCH.... I don't think so....

Problem with logical database DDF in ABAP query

Hi All,
I have created an ABAP query via the transaction SQ01 using the logical database DDF to retrieve customer master data from tables KNA1 & KNB1. The selection screen used is the screen 903 of the logical database DDF. But now the problem is that when I execute the query, I am getting a blank value in the tax code4(KNA1-STCD4) field though there is value in the KNA1 table for this particular field. This field was added to the table by means of a customizing include. Can anyone suggest a way to get around this problem so that I can view the content of the field STCD4 in the query.

I think it's not used by DDF.
so you must check it with:
check kna1-bran1 in s_bran1.

If you need to find the logical database for a table name, you can used SE36 - Logical Database Bulider.
Steps :-
Go to transaction SE36
Click Extras -> Table usage
Supply the Table name and hit enter.
A Display Logical Database will be shown on a pop-up windows.

Thank you for the prompt reply, what I would like the query to generate is the master data GL listing for GL account,GL description,Tax category, posting without tax allowed column where i use BRF as the data source for logical database to generate the quick viewver but the BRF data source do not have the GL description.

A logical database is a special ABAP/4 program which combines the contents of certain database tables. You can link a logical database to an ABAP/4 report program as an attribute. The logical database then supplies the report program with a set of hierarchically structured table lines which can be taken from different database tables.

Infoset query logical database and transparent table

Hi!
We have an infoset with the data source logical database=PNP.
We get some fields from the infotype 0768, P0768-PERNR, P0768-BEGDA, etc.
Now we need add another table to make a join within infotype 0768 and table T5F99SE.
For instance, in infotype 0768 I have one record with the fields PERNR and BEGDA and in the T5F99SE I have 3 records related to the unique record of infotype 0768, the fields of the table are PERNR, BEGDA, ACTDT and ADDAT .
The fields values in the example can be:
Infotype 0768: PERNR=00101800, BEGDA=20110401, DICOT=20, BACHE=1200
Table T5F99SE: record 1 PERNR=00101800, BEGDA=20110401, ACTDT=20110401, ADDAT=PB    E
                         record 2 PERNR=00101800, BEGDA=20110101, ACTDT=20110405, ADDAT=PC    E01
                         record 3 PERNR=00101800, BEGDA=20110401, ACTDT=20110409, ADDAT=PA    E
The result we want get with infoset query is
PERNR    BEGDA   DICOT BACHE   ADDAT
00101800 20110101 20        1200       PB    E

I would like to get the fields of the infotype and some fields of the table T5F99SE.
Is possible do this action with ABAP modifying an infoset that already exists adding the fields of the transparent table?

My guess is that it would not be possible to include a transparent table into the LDBs PNP and PNPCE. Would need input from a technical expert there.
However, instead of using the LDB, why don't you explore just using a direct table join? You may need to join PA0000, PA0001, PA0002 along with PA0768 and your other tables. An infoset can then be created on this table join.
To go to the mode where you can create the table join, in your infoset transactions, choose 'Table join' instead of 'LDB'.

How to link Infotype Table Data to Logical Database

We have historical data in one of our system brought by using diret insert queries on Infotype tables. Now, we are facing a problem that this data is not visible from PA20/PA30. Also, while using Logical Database in programs, we are not able to extract data from Infotypes using GET events.
Does anybody have any idea/solution to this kind of problem?

What made you to take decision to make direct table updates? I am not sure if this was the correct way. Anyway, whether all the module pool programs are in place foe these custom infotypes. You dont have to do anything else to have logical database program to fetch data for custom infotypes. Check if eveything in PM01 is configured correctly.

Go to SQ01 -- Enviornment --Query area - select Standard area or global as you require.
Then go to Enviornment - Infoset - search for the existing infoset if available as per your requirement or create an infoset here.
Write the name of Infoset and click on create . Fill all the required field like name , logical database - CIK, press enter it will populate the structure of logical database CIK, you may include /exclude here the nodes, or keep it as it is.
And press enter.
Now you have to create Field group and the fields inside the each group.
You may create thefield group by clicking the create icone in the right hand side of teh screen and may drag the then fields by double clicking inside the group.
Please mainatin sequence as per the characteristic of the table, like first select masterdata then transactuional!
Save it. It will ask you for package, but click on local object and save it.
Go back , it will prompt for generate infoset, say yes.
Now your new infoset is coming among other infosets. (it is advisable to search for the existing infoset if available to avoide inconsistency in infosets).
Now select your infoset and assign this to user groups by clicking the tab for this, you need to select user groups for this infoset here, who will be authorised to use this query.You need to take care about the user group, as this will allow you to see your infoset at the time of query generation / display.
Save it and go back and again go back.Cross check that you are in standard query area (as selected in first step)
Now give the query name and click on create. It will show you your infoset , select that.
It will propmt you the next screen for name , no.of columns required, output formats etc.
Fill as required and go to basic list now you will have screen as SQVI and have to select your selection field and output filed. After selecting the required fileds save it and execute this .

When you create a query , you have to select an infoset. Infoset can be considered as a source from which data is populated in the Query Fields.
Infosets are created from Transaction SQ02.
There can be four methods through which an Infoset can become a source of data:
1. Table join ( By joining two or more tables from Data dictionary)
example: Joining tables PA0001 and PA0006 on Pernr to get a one resultant dataset
2. Direct read of Basis Table ( Like PA0001 as a source for data in Infoset )
3. Logical Database ( A Pre-written Program by SAP that extract data from clusters, tables taking care of authorizations and validity periods)
Example : Logical database PNP, PNPCE (Concurrent Employement),PCH ( LDB for Personnel Development Data)
Custom Logical DBs can be created in T_Code SE-36.
4. Data Retrieval by a Program ( Custom code written by ABAP developers which will collect and process data) . This program has a corresponding Structure in data dictionary and the fields of this structure will be used in query)

Try the BRF logical database.
I found it by searching in which programs the tables were used.
It show program SAPDBBRF which is the program for logical database BRF.

ABAP query using logical database KDF is not populating custom fields

Hi Experts ,
I created two following queries
1.       VENDORCATKDF – uses KDF logical database
2.       VENDORCATLFA1 – uses table = LFA1
I’m pulling the same information in both queries:
·         Vendor Number
·         Country
·         Vendor Name
·         Vendor Category (custom fields added to LFA1)
The results for the query that uses the logical database KDF is incorrect. It doesn’t pull in the flag on the custom field LFA1-ZMRO.   Even though the logical database KDF is made up of the table LFA1 and has these fields.
Is there something that can be done – so that all of these “custom” category fields under LFA1 (such as LFA1-ZZMRO) – get pulled into queries – when we use the logical database KDF ?

I have got the error removed by ensuring that fields from one table are a part of one line ( taking help of ruler) only. But the underlying problem remains, the output is not ALV but List output.
I do not think having additional fields in the query is reason for this.
Is it bcoz iI am adjusting the output length of columns to ensure no hierarchical error ?
Can we not have a query using LDB which is shown as SAP List?

How to select a new table in logical database after creating the Infoset

I have created a abap query report ,i have used logical data base ADA in the infoset in SQ02.In the logical database i had selected only two tables then ANALV and ANLB.Now my client wants one more field to be added and thats is from table ANEK.Now i need to select this table in logical database ADA.
Please assist on how to select another table available in the Logicaldata base now which i didnt select when i created the query

I have now selected the additional field Posting date in Document ANEK -BUDAT .Earlier the report had the fields from ANLCV - Current acquisition value ,ordinary dep posted selected for the output.
When i run the query after adding this new field ANEK-BUDAT the below warning is generated by system :
The query specifications cannot be used to generate a list,
i.e. the query will probably not return the list you desire.
If you still want to execute the query, please use the
"Generate" function
-> 'Generate'
