Losing precision coming from Oracle to Java

30.20969963 is becoming 30.
The field is an Oracle Number datatype and I am using a Number in Java. Obviously that isn't right - what data type in Java will preserve all of the decimal places the database has?

I am not sure how concurrent program works, but may be one of the way might work out, let me know if Java Concurrent Program works a bit different way
- [if async] Through concurrent program, you can insert message token to db or aq, and BPEL can be instantiated from there
or
- If it supports pure java call, then you can look at multiple documents (e.g. http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/pdf/orabpel-Tutorial7-InvokingBPELProcesses.pdf) to invoke your process
- You can also use oracle db utility to invoke soap operation and get the result back

Using mysql-connector-java-5.0.5 from oracle's java procedure.

I need to write the java procedure in Oracle, which will get connection to mySQL server and put some data into it. I am using official mysql-connector-java-5.0.5 driver for this job. Java class for this job work well outside the Oracle. The problem is:
When I try to import jar file of mysql connectior it fail son resolving inside the Oracle db. How can I get access to mysql from Oracle?

I've never tried to add a DB connection under this IDE installation earlier.
Just yeasterday I've created a project with some DB related (mySQL and Hibernate) libraries, although it compiled fine.

Return array of varchar from oracle to java

Hi,
I am trying to return an array of varchar from database to java. However, when I print the values in java, it prints hexadecimal values like this.

I am using oracle 9.2.0.5.0 and jdk 1.4
This happens only when the NLS character set of the database is WE8MSWIN1252 (default character set).
It works fine on databases with UTF8 and US7ASCII character sets.
Any leads to the reason behind this behaviour is greatly aprpeciated.

Actually, check nls_charset12.zip. It looks like 9.2.0.5 driver contains only the *.zip version. Make sure that the file exists in the directory pointed by the CLASSPATH. Use full path, do not use %ORACLE_HOME%.
I have reproduced your problem without nls_charset12.zip and I could not reproduce it with the file in the class path. Double-check how classpath is set in your environment. Maybe it is overriden by some configuration or batch file.

Invalid username and password message is coming from oracle forms 11g

Genrally we unlock and reset the password for locked oracle account and then we make password as expiered so that user will get prompt password change while logging into application.But recently we have made our password policy as case senstive.Now user is getting password exipred message and application is prompting to change password window, but even if user is giving correct password invalid username password message is coming (ORA-01017).To overcome this I have tried same case password but no success. I am able to change the password from sql plus
Please let me any changes need to carried out on application server side.

Passing Opaque Objects from Oracle to Java

I am trying to write a stored procedure that needs to be called from different triggers. Each triggers needs to pass a different set of data to the stored procedure. Now the problem is that i need to pack the different set of data into one opaque object type that i can pass onto java. Is there any way of doing this. I am using Oracle 9i running on Linux 2.4.9. I tried using the Object datatype in Oracle 9i. But am not able to pass a object datatype to java directly.

Didn't know that. Guess the way this API handles the struct is it puts it on the heap, since this idea (with passing a 32-bit var back and forth with a memory location) worked.
My next problem - I can't figure out a way to destroy a jstring: whenever I do an env->GetStringUTF((char*)charBuff), it seems to simply copy the bytes from the buffer
into the same String object up the length of the buff (so I get the extra bytes from the previous String if it was longer at the end).
Here's how it works: I have a loop in C code that parses tags inside a file, then depending on what tag it is, I create a new jobject and call a Java method to do stuff
to that object. As one of the parameters in the constructor I pass in a String that I create (as you can see above) from a character array, however I am getting
massive artifacts when I print out that String inside the Java method.
Thoughts? :(

Save Attachment from exchange server 2010 from oracle using java mail API

I want to read email from microsoft exchangeserver 2010 and save attachement into a folder.I created an Java program to import attachments from a exchange server mailbox using "POP3S".It works fine when run as a java application.But when i put this inside Oracle11g R2 using load java and while executing from a procedure it gives an error at parsing message into Multipart

How to invoke A CORBA-Java Client Application, from Oracle???

Hi,
I have a CORBA-Java Client Application, which takes the input parameters from a Oracle table and calls the CORBA Server, passes these parameters to the C++ Server Application and gets the results back thorugh CORBA.
My problem is, this java application needs to be invoked, when ever there is a new record in the Oracle table.
I am not sure if i can use Java Stored Procedures in Oracle in this case, because my app is in Sun JVM and i am using BEA WebLogic Enterprise 5.1 for the CORBA.
Is there any other way by which i can invoke this app, when a new record is updated in the Oracle table?
Currently, i have just put a TIMER in my java App, to check the oracle table in every few seconds, to see if there is a new reocrd. If it finds a new record it invokes the corresponding class(corba class), or else just keep sending a messsage that no new record is available.
The problems i am facing in this method are as follows;
1. Unnecessarily, the application has to keep on running if there is no request coming frequently.
2. When there is a new record found, the Corba Class is called and the whole process (till it gets the result back from the server) takes about 20 - 30 secs. But within this period, if there is another record coming into Oracle table, my timer class doesnt invoke another corba class....(though i am using multithreading by using the RemidTask method in the timer.schedule.
(timer.schedule(new RemindTask(),10,5*1000);)
3. Also, if during the first call, there is some error, then the whole process exits, instead of another process running parallely (when a second new record is found).
So how does this timer class act like a multithreading process?
Well, i hope i am not confusing....Please let me know if anyone wants bit more elaboration on this.
It would be really helpful if someone can suggest some answer to my problem.

Of course, i feel there should be a difference in running the timer continuosly and staying in queue. However i am totally unaware, how can i make my java app to wait in the queue and waits for a new record?
Can you please elaborate your answer a bit more, because i dont know about the AQ, that you have mentioned.

Error: ORA-03113 while executing complex java code from Oracle PL/SQL

I am trying to execute a complex java code from Oracle PL/SQL. The classes were resolved successfully. But in the middle of execution, I am getting the following error:
ERROR:
ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE

Is there a way to debug the Java classes loaded into oracle? Or is there any utility to find out why the connection was lost?

You could use simply System.out.println(..) at your Java code and see the output at the .trc files generated for your Oracle session.

PD: ora-0600 generally are associated with RDBMS bugs, but these bugs can be bypassed by replacing the code which throws the exception by other with a workaround.

Dropping java object from Oracle 8i

We areaable to load java methods and publish them to SQL in Oracle 8i using Jdev Deploy wizard, but we can not drop them thru
Open View As->Database Browser of the connection object, they drop menu is greyed out/disable. What kind privilege we need to drop java object from Oracle 8i? Or there is something wrong with the database setup.

Java method call from Oracle?

is it possible to calll on a running java Class's method from Oracle Stored procedure or something?
here is the real problem...
let's take a example of a simple ChatServer...
let 's say we have two or more chatserver running on the same machine and users are connected to both server. Now one user from one machine send some message to another user whois on machine two. let's for a moment assume that all message have to go through the oracle database. We know at the databse level who is connect on what server. So server1 inserts the message into the databse and trigger should send message to server1 some kind of method, which then looks up the user's thread and send the message to the user.

Oracle does support Java stored procs. You could have an Oracle java proc put a message on a network connection to do this. Honestly, however, it sounds to me like you need to revisit your design. A database really isn't the place to do this. If you need to keep the two servers in synch, consider a messaging solution like JMS

Retrieval of xmltype data from oracle 10g to java

Right now we are facing an issue on xmltype retrieval from oracle 10g to java.
I used xmltype column.getClobval() to get the xml content, but unable to do the parse to get the xml data.
So i tried getStringval(), getting the xml content as string format and here in this case also, i didn't get document object.
