    Thanks a lot.
tons of LED lighting bro! hahaha
Lend me your modding skills! >_<

You could use MSI burnrecovery software to create a recovery media(USB or a few slices of disc) and reinstall your system. At that time, you can choose where to store recovery partition.

  • [MSI PRO MOD] At Doom's gate

Long ago i have this idea in my mind, but didn´t know how execute in a case mod. After several times thinking how to do it, i see the opportunity for this contest. I guess the image is obvious, but beyond that, i want to do a casemod based in doom universe, more exactly the "inferno" where the creatures live. For this reason i got material and images from doom I, II & III. I'm a big fan of the game and after know the news of new Doom something inside me revived, making me feel excited again. I hope you like it, the design has long time, and many modifications, so i could get, i hope, the best version of my casemod.
    My parts:
    - MSI z97 gaming 7
    - MSI GTX N460 cyclone
"At Doom's gate" is the first episode of Doom I, where all invasion begins. Is the first time we enter in the hangar and start shooting to demons coming from other dimension. Check to watch a casemod coming from the other dimension and possessed by demoniac flesh.

Time to paint, this time i do not use spray but paint brush, because i want some textures and details about terrain that spray paint can do.

  • [MSI PRO MOD] Nocturnal Hunter by RandomDesign

    Introduction
Hi everyone! My name is Stefan and I’m a 28-year-old student at Heidelberg University in Germany.  My subject is “Transcultural Studies” which focuses on the interactions between Asia and Europe in a global context.  In my leisure time, I’m interested in 3D modeling and like to realize my ideas as props. That is why I’ve tried already different materials for modeling. In case modding, I’m less experienced and the mod, I will create for this contest, is just the second case mod, I ever made.
    The concept
The focus of my scratch mod will be on the MSI X99S SLI krait edition motherboard. Inspired from the design of the krait on the package, I build a head of a krait. In order to fit all the hardware in and for aesthetic purposes, my design is a mixture between a stylized and a natural krait. Excepting the hardware, I will not use any pre-assembled, fabricated or machined parts. The aim is to build up everything from scratch and 100% handmade. I did a 3D-model of my final design. The model allowed me to fit the hardware and to simulate possible functions. Because I want to keep the mod as cost-efficient as possible without depreciating the design, I tried to use material available for everyone and which is easy to handle. Space is another limitation, since I’m working in a 5 m²-cellar most of the time. May I show in this way, that spatial restrictions can be overcome by creativity?
    The Hardware
At first, I want to give my special thanks to MSI for providing and organizing the hardware for this project. Thanks also to Kingston and Cooler Master. Without the help of these three companies it would have been not possible for me to build this mod.
Motherboard: MSI X99S SLI krait edition
        CPU: Intel i7 5820k
Cooling System: Cooler Master Nepton 240M
RAM: 4x4GB Kingston HyperX Predator 2133
        Graphics: MSI Radeon HD7790 2GB
        PSU: Cooler Master V850
        SSD: Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB
And here are some pictures of the hardware:

The next step was to add more details to the upper jaw. Because I was building a krait head, I surly needed some fangs. I cut styrofoam into a basic fang shape and covered it with Worbla´s Finest Art to achieve more stability. The fangs, however, got a little larger than I thought and it was no longer possible to close the case. To overcome this issue, I installed metal hinges in the front of the upper jaw, which allow to flip in the fangs. Magnets were adjusted to hold the fangs in place, either flipped in or out. Besides, I sprayed some expanding foam into the hole below the eyebrow to strengthen up this area and make it less fragile, as you can see in the picture.
As an eye catcher, I decided to install a designed acrylic glass in the upper jaw. I cut out the needed size with my jigsaw and made a template for the design. The top part of the acrylic shows the krait head logo, depicted on the motherboard package, as well as the MSI logo. I used different engraving bits to cut the design into the acrylic glass and cleaned the edges with an exacto knife. Then, I cut the motherboard name also into the acrylic with the exacto knife.
For illuminating the acrylic glass, I soldered the LEDs, resistors and wires together and placed them at the bottom and the top edges of the acrylic glass. In this way, the light beam will pass the glass and highlight the engravings. In addition, I put some LEDs below the motherboard to give it a little white shine on the edges.
Before I put everything together, I made a final fitting of the hardware and the sleeved cables.
    Next up: Final Pictures

  • MSI-PRO-E Motherboard and OCZ3G1600LV6GK

I have been doing some research and am deeply confused. I am going to be buying a MSI Pro-E motherboard and am planning on buying OCZ Gold Ram (3 x 2GB). I was looking at the timings and am getting confused. Some people are saying you have to mess with the BIOS to get the timing to 8-8-8-24, and others are saying that you don't have to do anything. So I am wondering if you actually have to do anything in order to obtain the timing of 8-8-8-24? Also Can the motherboard run RAM at 1600Mhz without overclocking or would I have to overclock the RAM in order to get that speed?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I forgot to mention that I am going to be using a I7 920 processor. Also I found a picture of the bios settings someone had and they were doing the second method you mentioned.  I don't think it has more than 1 XMP profile, and if it does I'm probably not going to change it because I will be using the second method. So just to double check to make sure I'm not messing this up, I want to set it to 2N not 1N right? (Just checking cause I read somewhere that you usually leave it on 1N.)
Typically you will want to use 1N but some RAM won't be able to do it properly...
Something else you may want to consider: If you use 1333 mode instead of 1600 you won't have to increase voltage and often can use much better RAM timings. I've some 7-7-7-20 Corsair RAM in here but when I found out that in 1333 mode it runs with 4-6-6-15 without the requirement to increase the voltage, I was very happy to leave it at that. There are also other timings which can nicely be set manually - my tRFC is 49 instead of 88 now!
Something which may speak against using XMS info: My corsair RAM is a triple kit, but somehow one module has one value set differently than the others in there...thus I'm using manual setup now (tRFC was set much too high anyway, it wasn't even using XMS info).

  • I7 920 on MSI Pro OC

Hey guys, I'm just going to post my OC and see if this is ok.  I haven't messed with any of my voltages.  I have my i7 920 on my MSI Pro with EIST off (so no turbo mode). Spread spectrum disable (that is what I read....I have no idea what it does) and overspeed proection disabled.  My Base Clock is 177mhz with a multiplier of 21. Now Windows is reporting 3.5GHz (a 20 multiplier) while CPU-Z reports a 21 multiplier for 3.72GHz.  I trust CPU-Z, but I don't know why Windows reports 3.5GHz.  Also, when I run a stress test (Prime95) for all 4 cores (or I guess "8" with hyperthreading) the multiplier drops down to 20 (according to CPUZ) which doesn't make sense to me because I though I disabled all features that slow it down.  It's not a big deal, but any ideas why?
Also, another weird problem.  Before I had bios version 7.0, I had EIST on (with turbo mode) and set the base clock to 183 to get 3.66GHz.  Ran great, stable as a rock, went up to like 3.8GHz or so when running single threaded apps.  But now with bios version 7.1, I can't get that exact same settings.  It crashes/locks up when I try to load any game or stress test.  I don't know why a BIOS update would prevent that.  That is why I am now using my new OC settings (described before).  I don't get it.....thanks!
    Windows XP
    MSI pro
    Core i7 920
    3x2Gigs DDR3 1333 Corsair RAM
    Sapphire ATI 4870x2
    950 watt PSU

EIST is a power saving feature, when 'Enabled', it steps down the CPU at idle or low requirement. Spread Spectrum 'Enabled' is for systems plagued with EMI problems. Here is a link to a good forum thread that talks a lot about the 21 multiplier. https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=124684.0
The bios version 7.1 should have given you QPI 'realtime' voltage in Cell Menu. That is a plus. As to why some parameters get changed with a new bios, I'm not sure any of us know that one. If you wanted to, a reflash back to the 7.0 version is always an option. Windows is showing correctly, as well as CPU-Z. The 920 can't stay at 21 multiplier at full load, as it is limited, locked by Intel.

  • How to adjust VCORE in MSI Pro-E X58?

Hey guys; I've built my first rig and I'm interested in overclocking the i7 I've bought. I've already read a lot on OC'ing and the potential hazards that come with it. In any case, I own the MSI Pro-E X58 and was looking to OC. I've steadily increased the BCLK using the default voltages, but when I hit 3.4 GHz (with a BCLK of 170), Windows crashed after about an hour of P95. I opened the cell menu in the BIOS looking to bump the voltage up a notch, but am a bit confused as to how to do this. Under the cell menu, I noticed the "CPU Vcore" at 1.328 V; I find this odd because I thought the default voltage setting for the Core i7 was 1.2? Also, I'm somewhat unsure as to what the "CPU Voltage" setting does; is this linked wit the "CPU Vcore" setting? My best guess so far is I can change the CPU Voltage to +/- from the CPU Vcore but I'm not entirely positive. Any help would be great.

    Quote

QPI is 1.20V default on the Pro-E. Your CPU Vcore of 1.328V's will need to be bumped a bit to remain stable. CPU V./Vcore, basically the same thing. Just bump up the CPU V. a step at a time until the system remains stable. Be sure Spread Spectrum in bios Cell Menu is disabled. Remember to keep an eye on the RAM speed as you increase bclk. That can be another source for instability.

  • MSI PRO e DEAD ?!?

    Hi,
Under is my post from tech powerup. So as last thing I post it on your forum.

    Hi,
I need some advice what to do ...
Today, I turned on my pc (see specs watched some news, facebook ,etc.)
I noticed that I have 1 left FAN for my PC from work (got from some new case, quiet with normal connecotr SYSFAN), so I wanted to install it because I needed more airflow .
So installed turned on , saw that POWERLED is not working. Checked and it was plugged. So I turned on AND no BEEP !
Tried agan NO BEEP (ofc normal booting sound of Corsair H50, etc) after 5 sec It rebooted and again no beep. It stays just like that (turned on).
    ANY ideas ???
OFC no post , blank screen
today: Tried both GPUs separatedly , still nothing
    Tried all RAMs seperately
    Removed all driver
    changed speaker
    Changed GPU to Nvidia 6200LE
    Checked CPU
    Checked CPU pins
    Cleared CMOS
    Took out battery for CMOS
AND STILL NOTHING = Rly angly ... = Blank screen
Yea , working all fans , all leds (phase of CPU) , just NO POST NO BEEP - Turn on , reboot after 5 sec and stays that way.
BTW I planned to put this board to server in next 3 days, it was on my schelude , now, I can just watch dead Board with working Leds and Fans ...
PS: It's really possible to destroy board by connecting SYSFAN bad way ?
EDIT: as I can see , under me is same problem with MSI PRO e ... NICE
    Thanks for your fast reply

Have you tried disconnecting the power cord, removing the battery and resetting the CMOS via the pins (should show how in your manual), reinsert battery, then check all power connections to mobo, ensure mobo attached firmly at all standoffs (to eliminate shorts), plug in and try to power up.

  • Msi pro-e mb possibly keeping psu fan on?

Hello all, fresh i7920 build with msi pro-e mb, corsair xms3 6gb, and a corsair tx750w psu.  The problem i'm having is when i power down the system for the night the psu fan will continue to run all night long even though the system if off(not in sleep or hibernate).  I am guessing its the psu or the mb or maybe even a bios setting i'm overlooking?  Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hmmm,  Another experiment to try.  Turn off the system and do what I said before with unplugging the PSU and draining the capacitors.  Now, unplug the SATA connector to your HDDs and the Power connectors to the HDDs.  You can leave the ODDs connected.  Re-plug in the PSU with no HDDs connected or powered.  Turn on the PSU and turn on the computer.  You should get a blinking cursor or some message.  Turn off the computer by the power switch.  Does the fan still run?
If the fan still runs, do you have access to another computer or another PSU?  You could try this PSU on another computer, yours or a friends to see if it does the same thing, or borrow another PSU and see it that fan runs on your PRO-E when the machine is off.
