Multiple JSP reports path

Currently, whenever I am calling a JSP report with Excel Tags, I have to store file in following location.
+$ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_BI_Forms/applications/reports/web/examples/Tools+
Calling method for jsp report which gives me output in Excel.
http://appserver:7778/reports/examples/Tools/myReport.jsp?connstr&server=rep_appserver_ias
I wanted to have multiple locations to store JSP files
for e.g.
Production Environment : /*production*/application/jsp
Testing Environment : /*testing*/application/jsp+
Development Environment : /*development*/application/jsp+

Hi,
You do not need to worry about connection pooling in Reports Server. Oracle 9iAS automatically takes care of connection pooling.
Please refer to the following document for more details (page 33).

  • How to to display the JSP report in Application Server ? URL for displaying

    Hi Experts,
    Last week, we tried to change the memory of Response Cache and buffer Cache to increase the speed of the Excel report. But it didn’t work out.
    And from the below link, I understood we can convert the oracle 9i report to excel by converting the Oracle 9i report to JSP report.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/demonstrations/index.html
    I’ve converted the Oracle 9i report to JSP report and finding the way to display the JSP report using Application Server. I am trying to find out the REPORT URL of simple JSP report and using Reports Servlet . Right now I am trying to display the JSP report in Application Server.
    Please suggest the URL for displaying the JSP report
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
    You can directly call you .jsp file, http://<host>:<domain>:<port>/<jsp report path>?userid=<if your report requires userid>/<pwd>

    Thanks for reply. I restarted reports server also. Is my way of writing EnvId in the link is correct?
    I have done the following:
    1. Inserted the following into the report server configuration file:
    <environment id="default">
    <envVariable name="REPORTS_PATH"
    value="/oraas/modlive10g:$ORACLE_HOME/reports/templates:$ORACLE_HOME/reports/printers:${REPORTS_PATH}:$ORACLE_HOME/reports/winfont"/>
    </environment>
    <environment id="testenv">
    <envVariable name="REPORTS_PATH"
    value="/modapp/modtest10g:$ORACLE_HOME/reports/templates:$ORACLE_HOME/reports/printers:${REPORTS_PATH}:$ORACLE_HOME/reports/winfont"/>
    </environment>
    2. commented REPORTS_PATH in reports.sh
    3.
    defaultEnvId="default" added to rwEng line in report server configuration file
    4. Restarted Report Server
    5. in browser appeneded EnvId=testenv to the application URL.

  • Where to add new jsp reports directory location in path

    hi all,
    where can i add a another location to the path of jsp reports.
    currently jsp reports i have to copy at one location only i.e.
    OH/j2ee/OC4J_BI_Forms/applications/reports/web/examples/Tools
    like REPORTS_PATH env variable in OH/bin/reports.sh, can i add one more location to it.
    regd

    REPORTS_PATH cannot be used for locating jsp reports (when you are running web layout). You have to keep jsp files under document root that is OH/j2ee/OC4J_BI_Forms/applications/reports/web directory. You can create sufbolders under this directory and keep jsp files.
    For example if you keep jsps in a folder named 'myjsps' under web folder, URL to access the jsp will be
    http://host:port/reports/myjsps/test.jsp? .....

  • How to create a JSP Report

    Hello, I am working with JDeveloper 10G. Now, I am trying to create a JSP Report (the typical Hello World) but I read that JDeveloper is integrated to Report Builder 10G.
    I downloaded JDeveloper 10g from oracle site and the only installation I made was unzipping a file.
    Should I install the entire developer suite in order to have a version integrated to Reports 10g?
    Or
    Can I create JSP pages and deploy them in the application server 10G as a report?
    I am new working with oracle reports, any information please.
    Thanks

    Oracle Reports is a tool that is aimed at building reports, it easily let you define multiple queries with relationships ; and then you can arrange the layour anyway you want.
    It provides outputs in HTML as well as PDF, XML and other formats.
    It also includes a reporting server.
    For more on Reports see:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/gettingstarted/index.html
    If all you want to do is build simple JSPs that are based on simple queries you can use JDeveloper using ADF BC for defininf views on queries and then use the JSPs to show the information.
    See for example this:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/collateral/papers/10g/reviewer/viewlets/reviewer_jsp_viewlet_swf.html

  • Web layout of jsp report

    Hi All:
    Please let me know how can i run web layout of jsp report and publish it as portlet?
    I have successfully deployed my jsp report(web layout),namely my_rpt.jsp, as a J2EE application and when i write URL direlctly in address bar of browser it runs successfully.
    I have also published (as portlet) successfully my_rpt.jsp, with "execute" type "servlet", and it runs paper layout of report.
    But i m unable to run the web layout of this report,with "execute" type "JSP"
    i have provided "Oracle Reports Web Gateway URL for JSP reports " = http://webserver.domain_name:port/
    Please help me out whats the problem and how can i run my jsp report with web layout?.One thing more its not the problem with only my_rpt.jsp
    but other reports also shows the same behaviour.
    Any suggestion/solution would be highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
    When you register a report with Portal, you can either register it to be run via servlet or as JSP. If you would like to run the same report via servlet as well as a JSP, you will have to register it twice with Portal.
    If you want to run the report as JSP, keep these steps in mind:
    1. While registering the report, select "Execute as JSP" in step 2 of the registration process.
    2. When you write the "Oracle Reports File Name", provide the virtual path to the JSP. As an example, suppose you have written the following as "Oracle Reports Web Gateway URL for JSP reports "
    http://webserver.domain_name:port/
    And suppose when you run the JSP report successfully outside of Portal, you use the following URL:
    http://webserver.domain_name:port/mycontext_root/my_rpt.jsp
    In this case, you will have to provide the following as the value for "Oracle Reports File Name"
    mycontext_root/my_rpt.jsp
    Notice that the file name is actually not just the file name, but it is qualified by the virtual path to the JSP report (where you have deployed the report).
    If you keep the above 2 steps in mind, you should be able to run the report as JSP from Portal.
    Navneet.

  • Saving JSP report output as a file on the application server

    I am trying to determine if it is possible to save a web based JSP report to the file system in the same way you can with a report generated via the rwservlet command. I am specifying DESTYPE=HTML and DESNAME=/home/mydirectory/abc.htm on the command line, but it seems to be ignored. The directory has 777 permissions on it.
    1. Is it possible to save the JSP output onto the file system just like paper based reports?
    2. Where, if any, is documentation addressing this issue? The reports deployment guide appendix lists all the URL parameters that are available to the various rw commands, but nowhere is discussed what params are relavent to JSP reports.
    3. If it is not possible to do this via the URL, does anyone know if I can somehow fetch out the inner HTML from the generated page at the bottom pf the JSP and then write it to the file system using JAVA? I know how to do it via JavaScript, but the reports are run on UNIX. Is there someway I can access the DOM inside the JSP?
    4. Why hasn't Oracle explained this better?
    Thanks,
    matt

    Thanks for getting back to me. But the documentation link below takes me to running rwservlet requests. This was not what I needed. The good news is my most excellent DBA, Manoj Gandhi, found an old TAR in Metalink that emphatically states that what I am trying to do is not possible. See Note:272401.1
    Well, sort of not possible...
    As it turns out it is possible, but you must schedule the report for immediate execution using the rwservlet's scheduling facility. Again, this came to me via my DBA. The TAR for this piece is Note:295420.1. Ignore the rwservlet urlparameter= part as best I can tell it's gibberish. Below is what I did. Substitute your info for the stuff in UPPER CASE and put it all on one contiguous line of course:
    http://SERVER:PORT/PATH/rwservlet
    ?server=REPORT_SERVER_NAME
    &destype=file
    &desname=A_PATH_AND_FILE_FILE_NAME_WITH_EXTENSION
    &jobtype=rwurl
    &schedule=
    &urlparameter=http://SERVER:PORT/PATH/JSP_NAME?userid=USERID&OTHER_PARAMETERS...
    I am not sure why cmdkey= fails when passed in the urlparameter= but I am working on a solution!

  • Hide UserID, Password, and Report Path when call Report from Report

    Hi,
    I have been able to call Report from Report using the hyperlink.
    I put these code in my Field on the Report caller.
    function F_3FormatTrigger return boolean is
      temp varchar2(2000);
    begin
      temp := 'http://<computer_name>:8889/reports/rwservlet?';
      temp := temp || 'server=repsrv' || '&' ||
                         'report=C:\MyReport\rep_detail.jsp' || '&' ||
                         'userid=scott/tiger@orcl' || '&' ||
                         'desformat=htmlcss' || '&' ||
                         'destype=cache' || '&' ||
                         'P_1=' || :ItemID || '&' ||
                         'P_2=' || :ItemName;
      SRW.Set_Hyperlink(temp);
      return (TRUE);
    end;The hyperlink showed, and I can see the rep_detail.jsp showed in the same browser after I clicked the hyperlink.
    The problem is, the hyperlink has to include the reports path and also userid and password.
    If I did not put the userid and password, it will showed in another browse that
    "The report has uncompiled PL/SQL"
    How can I hide those userid, password, and the reports path?
    BTW, Is there anyway to show the report callee in different page (precisely, open another IE) from the report caller?
    Any help would be grateful.
    Many thanks,
    Buntoro

    Hi,
    Thanks for the answers.
    Yet, I am still doubt about using cgicmd.dat.
    I have looked around in this forum saying that it is not secure to use cgicmd.dat. Because all report request does not use authentication (the client can directly open report without login).
    In Form, I can use the On-Logon to do the Oracle Form login (to do logon to the database), and then I use my own custom user login to restrict the menu for each user.
    I do this since I want to restrict the user,
    i.e user A can only view the sales form as well as sales report,
    user B can only view the purchasing form as well as purchasing report.
    Well, I am not so fond about the SSO itself.
    It comes to my mind, since I don't have to re-login (to the database) each time I call another form (login database is only once at the first Form, On-Logon). It also goes to when calling the report caller.
    What is RAD?
    How can we use it?
    Is OID = Oracle Internet Directory?
    If true, maybe, I won't use it since I don't understand about it also.
    Why we don't have to specify the userid and password when Form calls Report1 (using Run_Report_Object and Web.Show_Document())?
    But we have to specify the userid and password when Report1 calls Report2.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Buntoro

  • Summary fields in the JSP report

    I created a JSP report using Oracle 9i Reports Developer using report wizard. It has a %Total field on one of the columns.
    It is running good for the first time. But when I am closing and reopening the report the Summary column is showing a null value in the source column. And it would not run the report.

    Puvan,
    I figured out the problem myself. It is not a version issue.
    I was using a sum function on a decode expression in the sql command. The % total was applied on that sum expression. Every time I was reopening the report the sum expression was getting created in a new group.
    When I gave an alias for the sum(decode(xyz)) expression it is working fine now.
    I would still consider that as an issue with Reports Developer.

  • Calling a JSP Report From HTML parameter form

    Hi,
    I m trying to run a JSP Report from a HTML parameter Form. The JSP reports requires a parameter named userid in the URL with a valid value for database connection.
    eg. URL "http://win2kdb.oracle9iis.com:7778/repdemo/examples/Tools/fm_crdinf.jsp?userid=sysapps/system@trt1". We have created a variable on the server named "parmformjsp" with a value "sysapps/system@trt1". Now i use this variable in the URL as follows, eg. "http://win2kdb.oracle9iis.com:7778/repdemo/examples/Tools/fm_crdinf.jsp?parmformjsp".
    When i use this URL to call another JSP report from a JSP report it works fine, but the same does not work when calling a JSP report from a HTML form.
    the code for HTML parameter form calling a report is as follows,
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us">
    <meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0">
    <meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
    <title>Parameter Form</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>Parameter Form</p>
    <form name="form1" method="GET"
    action="http://win2kdb.oracle9iis.com:7778/repdemo/examples/Tools/fm_custrns.jsp?parmformjsp">
    <p>From Date<input type="text" name="p_fmdate" size="20"></p>
    <p>To Date<input type="text" name="p_todate" size="20"></p>
    <p> </p>
    <p><input type="submit" ><input type="reset" value="Reset" name="B2"></p>
    </form>
    <p> </p>
    </body>
    </html>
    If i create an input parameter named "userid" with a valid database connection value, remove the ?parmformjsp part from the action URL then it works fine. How can i call the JSP report using the parmformjsp variable name instead of using the "userid" clause in the URL.Can anyone suggest any workaround....
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Unmesh

    do it like this...
    DECLARE
    pl_id ParamList := Get_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
    BEGIN
    IF NOT Id_Null(pl_id) THEN
      Destroy_Parameter_List( pl_id );
    END IF;
    pl_id := Create_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
    Add_Parameter(pl_id, 'ROUTE_CARD_CONTROL', TEXT_PARAMETER, :ROUTE_CARD.ROUTE_CARD_CONTROL);
    Add_Parameter(pl_id, 'PARAMFORM', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'NO');
    Run_Product(REPORTS, 'D:\STL_FINAL\CHPREPORTS_FINAL\ROUTE_CARD.REP', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, pl_id, NULL);
    END; what exactly happens when you call the report. if its showing the blank page... may be you are not passing the right parameter name. cross-check that your parameter name in the report is 'ROUTE_CARD_CONTROL'.

  • Multiple JSP's accessing the same thread

    I have multiple users calling multiple JSP's. I also now want to add in a connection pool, which is implemented as a Runnable (It's a thread). However, how do I set it up so that all of the JSP's get a reference to the same connection pool?
    I have done this in a Servlet, where I could have the connection pool constructed in the init() function, and then the Servlet kept a static reference to the pool. Then for each request, I pass the reference to the pool into the service() function of my supporting classes.
    How can I do this in JSP?

    There are few things.......
    I do not know which application server you are using , but almost all competitive application server provide the concept of connection pooling. You do not have to implement connection pooling yourself. And to get a handle to the connection from the pool is through JNDI namespace(as you do for EJB.)
    Now if you still want to do that yourself then, i can propose one way.
    1) Put a instance of the Java class which holds the connection pooling in the application scope.
    ie useBean= Yourclass scope="application"
    2) Now all the JSP's will be able to get to the same object.
    So Look for documentation for putting objects in different scope ie session, application etc.

  • One parameter for multiple Crystal reports in Publication

    Does anyone know if it is possible to enter one identical parameter for multiple Crystal reports in publication when scheduling? BOE 3.1 SP3 Windows, Java.
    To elaborate I am creating publication with multiple reports, each report has one parameter and this parameter is identical in every report in publication. So instead of entering this parameter many times I would like to enter once.
    If yes point me in the right direction to get the how to or post the steps.

    Daniel,
    Thank you so much for your answer. It was very helpful. In the end, it didn't work but it helped me figure out what was happening. I use a different form for the reports and I had it coded in the form which report to use. I created a second form for the second crystal and then I used an if statement to choose the form and it worked like a charm.
    Thanks so much again!
