Multiple OWSM Gateway's running against 1 Policy Server

Is it a supported configuration to have multiple OWSM Gateways running against one policy server?
Thanks,
Michael

It won't trash the applications (see http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/compatibility.html to get 100% proof). If you install a new version, this will be used by default (if you just use "java"). Of course you can still use other JREs / SDKs when you explicitely use the version ("c:\Programme\j2sdk1.4.2_04\bin\java").

  • How to restrict users working on Windows 7 clients from accessing Windows Explorer and other systems in the network through Group Policy with a domain controller running on Windows Server 2008 r2

    Dear All,
We are having an infrastructure setup of around 500 client computers managed through group policy.
Recently the domain controllers have been migrated from Windows Server 2003 to Server 2008 R2.
Since this account requires extremely strict environment, we need to figure the solution for restricting the users from access anything locally.
It would be great if you can assist me with the following query.
How to restrict users logged on Windows 7 clients from accessing Windows Explorer and browsing other systems in the network through Group Policy with a domain controller running on Windows Server 2008 r2 ?
Can we disable Network Tab on the left hand pane ?
explorer.exe is blocked already, but users are able to enter the Windows Explorer by clicking on the name which is visible on the Start Menu.

You cannot block explorer.exe when you do not replace the shell - the
desktop you see effectively IS explorer.exe...
Your requirement sounds like you need a custom shell:

  • How to not run a gateway instance if the target server is down

I have a DirectoryWatcher gateway instance that runs every 10
min looking to do a series of actions when a file is added to a
directory on another server. This other server is down periodically
and my gateway instance fails. Then when the server comes back up,
I have to restart the gateway because it has failed. How do I tell
the gateway instance to not run if the server it is looking at is
down or the directory in this case is unavailable?

listeners have a timeout period.  if the target computer is going through a reboot cycle, the downtime should be short enough that you can setup a timeout.  Set one that is long enough so that you do not trigger a failure event, and the timepsan allows for the target server to come back online before the timeout expiration.
Another way that is more robust is to create a seperate application, perhaps one built on Visual Studio or even a scripthost that does a simple ping of the destination server every 10 seconds or so.  When the server is not found, you can do a shutdown of your CF.    (you can shutdown any application from another application).   Once you can re-ping the server, relaunch your gateway listener.  If the listener cannot support what you want to do, just write another program that will perform your logic for you.

  • Configuring Forms Builder 10g to run (Ctrl-R) against application server

I would like to run forms from my working directory against our development application server and config, rather than having a local OC4J running. I have configured this by setting the application server URL runtime preference to "http://<server>.<domain>:80/forms/frmservlet?config=dev". This works fine.
However, when I run the Form, I get "FRM-40010: Cannot read form H:\Neil\TAF00180.fmx". This is because we open our FMBs from a locally mapped drive (i.e. I opened the FMB from H:\Neil\TAF00180.fmb). When run against the application server it seems Forms Builder trys to run an executable with the same path as the FMB - H:\Neil\TAF00180.fmx, but the application server has no knowledge of a mapped H-drive.
The only solution I can think of is to have an H-drive mapped on the application server to the same location as our locally mapped network drive.
This doesn't seem like the correct solution to me. How should we configure Oracle Forms 10g and the application server to allow us to run our own working versions against the applications server and config?

    Slava Natapov wrote:
I guess Neil concern is that OC4J and Forms Server are using own formsweb.cfg and .env files
    And settings can be different.
For example what if local formsweb.cfg configured to run Jinitiator, but server formsweb.cfg configured for JPI, or they configured with different lookandfeel parameter, or local and server default.env use different NLS_DATE_FORMAT?Hi Slava, Hi Neil
I think this is more related to "discipline" for the developers....
@ Neil : How many developers do you have in your team ?
Are developers allowed to "customize" their formsweb.cfg and .env files ?
or more customized basejinit.htm, registry.dat, additional jar files ... etc
or more using different oracle_home for their installation of Developer Suite.
@ Slava : Using local formsweb.cfg and .env files might not be a problem if every developer machine is installed the same way (i.e. the same oracle_home).
Also, I don't think that using workingDirectory to network shared connection for each developer is a solution
    [dev1]
    workingDirectory= H:/dev1
    [dev2]
    workingDirectory= H:/dev2
And at least this is requiring customized *.env files ! as the forms_path should be set for runtime in it for each developer.
The registry entry is only for the builder to find the path to mmb and pll files for example, and compile well, but the runtime is using *.env files.
And what about developing in windows and deploy it to linux ?
I recently managed a project with junior and undisciplined developers. The boss had the same concern about each network drive per developer.
My concern was how to eliminate all subjective considerations..
And my answer was "Subversion" no mess with local or network version with the "copy of the copy of the copy of the fmb files".
So all forms_path were set to C:\myApp\forms etc and each developer made a checkout and commit versions twice a day.
And the Application Server was also "checked out" to have the latest revision and then ran it into a pre-version for production.
If I had to make some important changes in the *.olb file or the *.pll files then I made a commit for all developers and then re-compile all *.fmb and re-commit and checkout again.
I really don't matter if the developer used jinitiator or jpi but the right working copy.
And standalone OC4J was enough to make basics tests for each developer.
More tests were made by project managers at the application server level and then adjustments (if required) where sent to developers.
    Hope this helps.

    Jean-Yves

  • Error When Sending Service Request Through OWSM Gateway

We are trying to test using OWSM Gateways and Server Agents to sign and then verify messages being passed to a web service on a server. We have been able to get this to work with a simple HelloWorld type service without any problems. We then followed the exact same steps to do this with an actual service and it is not working.
We run the test from the "Test Page" inside the ccore GUI. We first test the connection directly to the service and receive a message about it missing the WS Security header. This is somewhat expected. Then, we send through the gateway which is set up to sign the message and pass along the header and receive the same error message:
<env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><env:Header/><env:Body><env:Fault xmlns="http://schemas.oblix.com/ws/2003/08/Faults"><faultcode xmlns="">:GenericFault</faultcode><faultstring xmlns="">WS-Security process failure:FAULT CODE: InvalidSecurity FAULT MESSAGE: Missing WS Security header in the SOAP message</faultstring><faultactor xmlns=""></faultactor></env:Fault></env:Body></env:Envelope>
We have checked the OWSM logs and can see that both times the server agent receives the request. The gateway logs, however, do not show any requests or responses even though the message should have gone through it. We do see these messages in the logs when testing our HelloWorld service with the same sign/verify settings. A review of the gateway.log file shows the following message displayed each time we submit a test to the malfunctioning service:
    2007-10-18 10:30:22,263 INFO [AJPRequestHandler-HTTPThreadGroup-54] gateway.WSDLRegistry - Exception occured in updateWSDL
We have until tomorrow to get this issue resolved before development presses to move forward without OWSM security and we cannot have that. Your immediate assistance is required. Thank you.

Some additional research has been done here and it seems that web services created with SOAP 1.1 (such as the HelloWorld service) work just fine. The problem is with services created with SOAP 1.2. Are there separate configurations or changes that need to be made for SOAP 1.2 services?

  • OWSM gateway : Message not encrypted error

    Hi,
I have a BPEL process which invokes a web service via partner link. Both BPEL and service are secured with OWSM gateway. In the policy defined for BPEL I'm doing Sign Message And Encrypt using XPath expression( which is working). In the policy for webservice I'm doing a Decrypt and Verify Signature . But its not invoking the service and throws a Client:GenericFault saying Message is not encrypted.
In fact the logs from BPEL after encryption shows encrypted data. But logs in service does not contain the same data.
Am I doing something wrong? Should I copy something ? I'm using the same keystore for both the policies. The version is 10.1.3.1
    Please help me
    Thanks

  • Multiple Web Sites on OS X Mavericks Server

I want to run multiple test web sites off my home Mac OS X Mavericks Server 10.9 can someone point me to a good "How to" on the specific of how to use the Server application to create and operate multiple web sites of a single Mavericks Server?
    Example
    MyServer.inno.com          10.0.2.5
Basic web is up and running....
I want to host four other web sites off the same machine for testing purposes how do I do that?
    MyServer.inno.com          10.0.2.5
    MyServer.web1.com          10.0.2.5
    MyServer.web2.com          10.0.2.5
    MyServer.web3.com          10.0.2.5
    MyServer.web4.com          10.0.2.5
so if I go to the server and load
         MyServer.web1.com          10.0.2.5
it load a different web server.
My thought is to use virtual host how does Apple / Community recommend I set this up...
    T.

Please do not squat in the "home.com" domain.  If you're going to use a bogus domain, please use a bogus to-level domain such as server.home.jarvis — .jarvis is not currently a valid top-level domain, though that might change with the way ICANN has been bringing many new top-levels online, so a real registration is safer here.
    Peter Jarvis wrote:
    Assumptions:
         1. The Server is not intended to be publicly accessable from the Internet
How will it be accessed?  Entirely privately?  No external access?  OK.
         2. Private Network - 10.0.1.X
I'd probably pick something a little further into 10, such as 10.8 or 10.10, or 10.20.1.x — if you're ever using a VPN, it's best to use a weirder subnet, and I've worked with several folks that have 10.0.1.0/24 subnets.
         3. DHCP Reservation for the Mac Server - 10.0.1.2.
I usually prefer keep the server and the other fixed-address hosts outside the DHCP pool.
         4. Server Domain name MacServer.home.com
Are you the registrant for the home.com domain?  (I'd tend to doubt that, and would therefore suggest use of a real and registered domain or subdomain that you have permission to use or (less desirably) use a bogus top-level domain.)
         5. Example Web Site http:www.rouxacademy.com to also run off the same server...
Is that going to be public?
    Prequisites:
         1. Static Server IP Address / DHCP Reserved IP Address against MAC Address
         2. DNS Service Configured and Running
         3. Web Service Configured and Running
         4. Example Web Site http:www.rouxacademy.com
         5. You have a basic website (with mysql) files available
Directory roux_academy (Contains Basic Web SIte files etc)
    OK.
    Steps:
         1. Static Server IP Address / DHCP Reserved IP Address against MAC Address
The Airport Airport allows you to Reserve and IP address against a MAC (Media Access Control) physicall address of Server Ethernet Card. You can do this or have the Airport allocated DHCP address from 10.0.1.50 and above and statically allocate the server address of the machine.
I'd leave the server out of the address pool.  So long as the pool and all static IP hosts are in the same block (usually a 255.255.255.0 or /24 subnet) it'll all work, and you won't need to entangle the OS X Server with the DHCP server.
         2. DNS Service Configured and Running
Install Mavricks, install OS X Server application, launch server app...
Go to DNS tab, define a new host name MacServer.home.com and associate with 10.0.1.2 IP Addresss
    Start DNS Service...
Note: DO not publish DNS service via airport to Internet...
Other than not squatting in that domain, yes.  There's no reason to open TCP or UDP port 53 inbound.
         3. Web Service Configured and Running
    Go to Web Sites tab...
Click + and create new web site entry
    Domain Name:                http:www.rouxacademy.com
    IP Address:                     Any
    SSL:                               None
    Store Files in:                /Volumes/dev/Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/roux_academy
Who can access:          Anyone # I would restrict to a single user
    Additional Domains:     rouxacademy.com
no http: prefix there, but yes.
If you're not exposing the server to the 'net (as mentioned above) there's probably no need to restrict.  If you do need to restrict, you'll need to edit configuration files for Apache, or some other technique — maybe a VPN, if you're allowing (controlled, VPN-based) inbound access into your network.
    Start Web Service...
         4. Back to DNS
    Add host name....
    www.rouxacademy.com / 10.0.1.2
    # Do not create an MX record or publish DNS via airport...
AirPort does not know from MX records, and does not provide DNS services.  AirPort will know about your local DNS server, since you are apparently using the AirPort for DHCP.
You can also add the DNS translation during step 2; Apache and DNS are not tightly linked here.
    Launch Safari and type
www.rouxacademy.com          - should launch web site...
rouxacademy.com                   - should launch web site
Caveat: the Real rouxacademy.com will not be accesable from the server or local machines on 10.0.1.X network...
Ah, so there's a key detail — you're playing games and mimicking a real web site?  OK.
The rouxacademy.com web site will be accessible from the server, as that'll (also) have the DNS translation (and remember the basis for virtual hosting is the client — the server in this case — has a translation for the host — the rouxacademy.com or www.rouxacademy.com domain in this case — and passes that string over the HTTP or HTTPS connection to the web server.   If you really want to keep the server from accessing this web site, then you'll have to push the local translation of that domain into the hosts file, or to a separate DNS server.
I'd try to avoid this configuration though, particularly as your references to MX earlier implies that this domain might be more active than just the web services discussed here — trying to run split-horizon DNS means you'll get what's internal and external somewhat tangled, and you'll have to keep mail — for instance — aimed outside and web services aimed internally.  This is possible for many cases, but gets tricky.
Best to test the web site with a different domain name, and to use /-relative notation for accessing the files, or using the web content management system's configuration settings to control the "published" name of the site.

    Hello Chris
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. However I can not get it to work. It said utf8 and not utf-8 in the jboss-run.bat so I have tired both entries in the run.bat file (one at a time):
    run.bat
    set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms128m -Xmx512m -Dfile.encoding=utf-8
    set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms128m -Xmx512m -Dfile.encoding=utf8
I also changed the jboss-run.bat to -Dfile.encoding=utf-8 without any sucsess.
The regional settings on the win2003 server is set to Norwegian and I have a full server restart after each time I make a change in the *.bat file. Any tip on what I might be doing wrong would be appretiated.

  • How can I enable embedded pl/sql gateway to run on port 80

I have a new 11G install on OEL 4.0, database created. I would like to be

    chmod 6775 /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/bin/tnslsnr
Also put root in the dba group.
The permissions turn out like this:
    -rwsr-sr-x 1 root dba 830854 Jun 17 21:04 /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/bin/tnslsnr
I stopped the listener, bounced the database, and started the listener again.
But it still shows the process being owned by oracle:
    oracle 29682 1 0 21:08 ? 00:00:00 /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit
    Changing the port is easy:
    Connected to:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
    SYS>select dbms_xdb.gethttpport as "HTTP-Port" , dbms_xdb.getftpport as "FTP-Port" from dual;
    HTTP-Port FTP-Port
    8080 2100
At this point, I can access the apex home page with the following url:
    http://hostname:8080/apex/f?p=4550:10:1454849288245548
I can than change it to port 80:
    SYS>begin
    dbms_xdb.sethttpport('80');
    dbms_xdb.setftpport('2100');
    end;
    2 3 4 5
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SYS>SYS>select dbms_xdb.gethttpport as "HTTP-Port" , dbms_xdb.getftpport as "FTP-Port" from dual;
    HTTP-Port FTP-Port
    80 2100
When I try to access apex with the following url:
    http://rmdcopslnx1.us.oracle.com/apex/f?p=4550:10:1454849288245548
    I get the following:
    Failed to Connect

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.
    * Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.

    * Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings
    * can interfere with Web browsing.I can set the port. Just can't talk to it.
This is the entry from the listener log:
    <msg time='2008-07-03T15:40:09.741-06:00' org_id='oracle' comp_id='tnslsnr'
    type='UNKNOWN' level='16' host_id='hostname'

    TNS-00516: Permission denied
    Linux Error: 13: Permission denied
    </txt>
    </msg>
So this looks like an permissions problem. But where? I posted
this on the apex forum here:
Re: How can I enable embedded pl/sql gateway to run on port 80
    They suggested asking here.

No, that thread did not provide the information that I need. Some more data:

  • Multiple instances of ECM 11g on one server

I've read a few posts about installing multiple instances of ECM 11g on one server, but I have a few questions. My current set up is
    A single Windows 2008 Server R2 server
    8 gb RAM
    Weblogic 10.3.5
1 install of ECM 11g in the base_domain
    Database is Oracle 11.2
I want to add another instance of ECM to this server, but when I went to run the RCU, I was not allowed to use the same prefix for my tablespaces. Is this expected? I'm fine with using a different prefix, I just was surprised to see that I couldn't use the same prefix on this install since I was using a completely different database.
Assuming I use a different prefix... do I just add a new domain for this additional ECM instance? Is there anything else I need to know?
    Thank you

I went to run the RCU, I was not allowed to use the same prefix for my tablespaces. Is this expected?Yes. It will create tables with the same name visible for a different database user (thus, the prefix).
do I just add a new domain for this additional ECM instance? Is there anything else I need to know?Actually, I think you can even install more instances to the same domain (this is more a question to Weblogic Server admins - I think there's been some posts recently on this topic). What definitely must be unique, is the port number. If you are OK with using different port numbers for your instances, it should be relatively easy. If you need the same port (e.g. 80 because of proxy limits), there are some ways how to redirect - it that case, two domains might be required.

  • Can I have multiple/separated secure sites/wikis on one server?

I would like to host several secure wikis on my one iMac running OS X Server (10.8).  I've got the hostname for the primary domain and all of the virtual, primary domains good to go.  It's serving out a secure wiki on servername.domainname.com, which I am also able to access through https://www.domainname.com and/or https://www.otherdomainname.com.  If I replace "domainname" with any of my virtual domains it takes me to the default (hostname) primary domain's secure wiki.  But what I'd really like to be able to do is have multiple such wikis, separated by the different domain names.  Is this possible and how?
What I've tried, but does not achieve the desired effect is: creating a SSL enabled site.  Doing that actually makes it impossible to get into the default (hostname) primary domain's secure wiki.
I do have PHP and Python enabled, if that helps at all.
    Thanks in advance.

    Mark23,
Thanks for the help.  I see what you're saying.  As far as I can tell the address would actually have to be:
    https://www.domain2.com/wiki/projects/domain2/domain_2.html
That landing page could be treated as a Table of Contents for all pages attached to it.  You're right, it's not as elegant, but it is workable.  That is, until someone simply clicks on "All Wikis" and is taken to the "Table of Contents" (list of all wikis on SSL site) for domain.com.  Still, it's an option.
I'm going to reply to one of the other options you offered.
Actually, this wouldn't work as a redirect though because I'd lose the public website, wouldn't I?  The redirect would completely bypass the http: website.  Instead, I'd have to just link each of the secure wikis on the public website for each domain.  Then just tell people not to go into the wikis for the other domains.  Setting up groups and permissions could also take care of that, I guess.

  • Multiple Instances of OEDQ on a single server

    Hi,
I am running a Linux Machine (Linux 2.6.18-308.1.1.0.1.el5), on which I have the latest version of Oracle 11g release 2 installed.
I have an instance of oracle Enterprise Data Quality tool running on an apache-tomcat-7 server. Port 8080
Now I have a requirement of Installing another instance of OEDQ on the same server, but a different APACHE_HOME directory and a different Port Number (8081).
So the question is, Can we install multiple instances of OEDQ on a single server?
If so, what are the prerequisites to be maintained.
I did my bit of tries, but ended up having issues with some java errors.
I have posted the error message below.

Can someone please tell me what is going wrong here?

    Hi,
Multiple instances of EDQ on a single server is technically possible provided the installer takes care to avoid port conflicts. It is not the case that there is a single port used by an EDQ server, for example.
For various reasons, it is not officially supported; attempting to diagnose issues on custom installations on Tomcat is especially difficult and we do not provide documentation on this. In general, the requirement usually comes up for Dev/Test instances (as there is no performance advantage of using multiple instances on a single server), where we would recommend the use of virtualization where this is a requirement.

    Mike

  • Can you make Kerberos validate a ticket against the server?

I do not know if what I am describing is possible/feasible - so please forgive my ignorance.
I am trying to create a Kerberos single sign-on java desktop application (there is on webpage involved, and we does not try to log into other applications from there), using only the functionality built into Java (we are running Java 6.0), and on WIndows XP.
The point of what we are trying to do is to archive the ability to
    1) Authenticate the user of the program, both for history keeping, but also to keep people who have no business out of our application (we do not explicitly need authorization, as this is taken care of internally in the application)
    2) Avoid any kind of log-in screen (in other words single sign-on, with the sign-on to the Windows user account as the first and only sign on).
    in that prioritized order.
After having poking around for a while we finally got Kerberos in a semi working state - without any forms of external configuration files. However, the only way I have found to avoid having to deal with the CallbackHandler (which would mean we would need to have the user intervene - invalidating #2) has been to add the cachedTicket option.
However, when I do so, there does not seem to be made any kind of validation against the server (the realm and KDC information can be freely set to gibberish - and it works even if the account that I do it from has been invalidated). This seems almost (I said almost) seems as unsafe as the "System.getProperty( "user.name" );" we started looking at in the beginning.
If I have to go through the CallbackHandler then everything is OK (fails if the realm and KDC information is not correct - and likewise when my account has been deactivated, fails on any possible combination of bad password and/or username).
So my question is: Is there a way to login securely, without having to prompt the user for his windows account and password (perhaps a special configuration). If so, do I need to use a keytab (we would prefer not to, but if that is what it takes....), should I look into authorization as a workaround (if it indeed could as such), using a third party Kerberos system (such as the one from FemiLab), something entirely different - or is what I am describing impossible?
If needed I would be able to provide code snippets.
Thank you for your time :)

    Hi,
I've attached the llb file from the examples folder \LabVIEW\Examples\Comm
This is a LabVIEW 5.1.1 folder but it should open in Ver 6 OK. But there maybe some links to other example VI.
