My mba won't restart. it freezes up. i would have to push the on/off button to shut it down and restart up. please help

Not good...SMC reset didn't work....Throughout the day yesterday I put the computer to sleep and woke it up normally. It seems to be a overnight problem.
Am I going to have to shut it down everynight?

I don't have Norton on my PC. I am of no further help

I sync my iphone ios 4 to another iphone ios5, sync was completed but after a few secs, the iphone with the IOS 5 firmware will auto restart and freezes at the home screen which I can't unlock. It will then freeze for a few secs before repeating the restart phase again and again and again.
To solve this issue, I have to hold the "home" + "off" button to restart the phone. Afterwhich, it will restart the phone. However, although my stuff are still on the phone, all my sms are gone.
Can someone please assist urgently.

No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.

None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great. -
I like to listen to lectures, etc. and find it very annoying to have to press the on/off button to restart it every 10 minutes. Couldn't find a way to extend playing time in settings. Any suggestions? This is my first iPod and I am ready to take it back if I am unable to extend the playing time. Frustrating!

I can imagine that is frustrating as heck. My daughter has one of these and I know for a fact hers does not turn off after 10 minutes because I have to turn it off for her every night after she has fallen asleep. Below is what Apple has to say about it from a troubleshooting standpoint.
"If music stops when the iPod nano screen turns off m Make sure the earphone port is free of debris. m Make sure the earphone or headphone connector is pushed in all the way. To see an illustration, go to support.apple.com/kb/ts3700."
Are you using aftermarket ear buds or speakers when you listen to these lectures??? If so maybe it has something to due with a compatibility issue. -
When I close the lid on my retina MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt and it goes to sleep, I cannot wake it without shutting it down and restarting it. Called Apple tech and they did not have a solution. Any ideas?

i just got an ihome system and had trouble with it connecting to my iPhone. I finally got it to work and now my itunes doesn't recognize my phone. My software is up to date on both my Mac and my iPhone and I have shut everything down and restarted. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?

Mac mini (intel) frequently shutting itself down and restarting.
My mac mini has started to immediately power down and restart on its own. I have been using different apps and even just while in the finder deleting old files and reorganizing. I tried a safe boot (holding down shift) and after that I had no audio!? after another restart (regular) it crashed again...I fear that i wont even be able to finish typing this... These crashes are really just the computer shutting down with no notice and resarting on its own... What else can I do here?

Thanks to your idea to look in the console I noticed that somethings in the console.log referenced VersionCue CS2 and I have had problems with this before so I have uninstalled VersionCue completely. Hopefully that helps but I really dont know anything at all about the console or how to interpret anything in it....the word "kernel" appears frequently in the system.log...
does this mean anything?

i can download for about 20 min then i try to go to another page by opening a new tab or using a bookmark Firefox totally freeze's up so i have to close down and go into the task mngr and shut down the process for firefox and restart because if i do not do that it will not open back up i am using vista home pro on a 64 bit system please help this very bothersome
This issue can be caused by an extension or plugin that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

It will work one time and the next nothing internet related will load. I have to actually shut the iPad down and then restart it. It works then but the next time I have the same problem. It sees my wifi connection. It like it won't use it. What's going on?
Your mistake was entering your WiFi address. Forget the network, then let the phone find it on its own. Your router should then assign an IP address. It's a good idea to reboot the router before doing this to assure that all services in it are working.

I tried to update my phone. The update didnt go all the way through, and ended up freezing the screen on my iphone with an itunes icon on it. I tried to reboot phone with no success...the icon stays on there with no other function of the phone available. Anybody know of a fix?
Put your iphone in dfu mode by doing this. Turn your iphone off. When its off, hold home and power button together for exactly 10 seconds, then release the power button and keep holding home button for another 10 seconds. Then open up itunes on your pc and plug your iphone to your pc. Itunes should recognize your iphone in recovery mode and it will tell you to restore it. Click restore, and your iphone will restore. Remember that, if you do this you will lose everything that was on your iphone. You can restore from backup later on. Hope I helped. MacBookPro 10.7.5 shuts itself down and restarts after around 5 minutes of non use.

In addition to the question above, I've never had a problem with previous versions of FF locking up, but now it locks up a lot. I believe this is a beta? I have FF 26 .exe still in a folder. Should I just go back to that version and will these problems clear up? thanks.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

I have had 6 replacement Iphone 4s and still my issue has not been resolved. What more must I do to have a telephone that can receive phone calls without me having to check it every 20 mins to make sure I have network service. Renewing the simcard has also not worked.
I was thinking that Kabel Deutschland might be the problem but my wife has a Iphone 3GS on the same network and she never has the no service problem. Also when I said I have had 6 replacements yes they all had at one time or another this issue with no service but they had other issues like not switching off or bright spots on the screen etc etc. Also the sim card has been replaced twice

Email has been running in background for a long time and I need to shut it down and restart empty.
With hundreds of thousands of emails and 30+ files the program is updating each and taking days. This eats a lot of resources.
Is it possible to close and delete the entire program and start fresh?Look at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-multiple-profiles and create a new profile; DON'T delete your old one yet. The new profile will be 'empty', so you will need to re-enter your email accounts.
