Oracle.sysman.eml.app.ContextInitializer error after Patch 5948242
After installing patch 5948242 (ORACLE 10G 10.2.0.3 PLACE HOLDER BUG FOR PATCH 4 ON WINDOWS 32 BIT) on windows on 10.2.0.3 i get a error message about oracle.sysman.eml.app.ContextInitializer whenever i want to connect to the Enperprise Manager Database Control. It doesn't matter if i create a new database with dbca or upgrade an existing database. Has anyone managed to install this patch? What may i am doing wrong?

Check Know issue section of readme of patch, it will list all know issue and there fix/workaround.

since the file is missing, create $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/shrept.lst with a text editor and put the following lines into it.

network : naedpwd_encrypt
network : naumbsb_bld_singlebyte
network : ztapis
chmod 644 $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/shrept.lst
relink all
Still the error persists -

Error after patch EP6.0 SP3- EP6.0 SP4(patch4)- WAS6.40SP6
We have WAS 6.40 SP 6.0 and EP 6.0 SP3 on HP-Unix 11i 64-bit.
I have tried to patch the portal twice to SP4 and after patching I got
twice the same problem.
The patch application - the exact patch is EP 6.0 SP4 Patch4 is
successful. There are no errors in the installation logs, etc.
But when I try to login to the portal url I get this error message:

Could not find portal application com.sap.portal.ivs.api_iview.

The error part of the portal log file is attached. The WAS is running
perfectly, no other errors or issues. The heap memory is set as per the
OSS 723909. I wonder if I have to add the 32-bit compatible UNIX shared
memory parameter settings as per OSS 497427, but I do not think it is
related the issue.

Follow errors of other applications like
com.sap.portal.ivs.systemlandscapeservice, which are probably dependent
on the com.sap.portal.ivs.iviewservice.We needed exactly the SP Stack 3 specification - WAS 6.40 SP6 and EP 6.0 SP4, so I could not go to higher SP on both WAS and EP.
I resolved the issue by applying all EP6.0 SP4 patches sequentially. SAP claims that these patches are cumulative and you can directly install the latest available patch, but it did not work in our case.
I was suspicious at the beginning, because the files size of the first patch is much bigger that patch 4, but the installation did not complained:

next, I run Ovi suite update and instal the optional updates (descrived in the post)
I also check them SW in the phone for OTA update, there i find the first error, regarding nokia music player.

then, in Nokia store I try to instal "My Apps" from my history. here I receive errors with some of them and not with others...
i also could not instal app if i download them directly to the phone, like from betalabs.

ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error after patch 9.2.0.7 on Windows2K
I just install the patch 9.2.0.7 for client Oracle machine on windows 2000 server.
Since then I'm constantly getting "ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error" and I cannot connect via SQL plus.
Any help is appreciated, mjI'm trying to connect to databases that are running on a separate machines - aix5.2, and I can connect from every other machine in the office but not from this one.
There's no database on this machine - only Oracle client tools installed with 9.2.0.1 and then updated to 9.2.0.7. Before the update the sqlplus was working just fine. After the patch run, I'm not able to connect viw sqlplus.
There were no errors when running the patch.

Can you give some more info?
- Did you install a fresh run-time and dev add in or was it an "upgrade" installation?
- Are you running it in "debug" (F5) or have you deployed the project and are running it from the portal... or something else?
- By "newly created application" did you create a completly new project or cleared an old file?
- are you using a SAP Connector in this "hello World"?
- If yes - What connector version have you installed on your dev machine?
Please, in the mean time, also try to do a "repair" on both msi installations (run-time machine and Dev machine).

"Short read error" after patching solaris 10 x86?
We recently bought an Ultra 20 with Solaris 10. The first thing we did was attempt to patch it with smpatch. Specifically, we did the following steps:
> smpatch update
> shutdown -i s -g 0
> smpatch add -x idlist=/var/sadm/disallowed_patch_list
> reboot
When the machine rebooted we got a "short read error" message when trying to load in various drivers and wouldn't boot. We assumed that the disk had crashed and we reinstalled solaris from the DVDs. After the reinstallation, we went to patch the machine again, with the same steps, and exactly the same thing happened!
So is there something wrong with patching solaris 10 on x86? Has anybody else experienced this problem where the patching corrupts the disks (or the drivers)?

Do you get the error every time during boot? Sometimes it helps to
press <RETURN> at the boot prompt, and not let the system wait for
the five second timeout. -
JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 won't connect to Oracle BPEL 10.1.3.4 after patch

I've tried to install Oracle BPEL 10.1.3.4 four times now. Everytime I apply the 10.1.3.4 patch, JDeveloper won't connect to BPEL. I followed the installation documents step by step:
1.- Create SOA Schemas
2.- Install Oracle SOA Suite
3.- Upgrade BPEL and ESB Schemas
4.- Install 10.1.3.4 patch
5.- Configure PHP5
6.- Change data-source.xml
I always get the same problem in JDeveloper
XMLParseException:Whitespace required in the Identity Services. The configuration in JDeveloper is correct because it works on 10.1.3.1.

Change the factory class in data-sources.xml to oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource.

The patch sets the start attribute to false.
Everything restarts correctly but I can't connect from JDeveloper. There are no errors in the opmn log, or the applications.log.

We have applied hr support patches from 20 to 28 in our system . After this we are facing issue related to ehp4 appraisal application - the error we are getting in sicf while accessing the service -hap_start_page_powl_ui_ess
The following error text was processed in the system SRD : Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.
The error occurred on the application server xxx_SRD_xxx and in the work process 0 .
The termination type was: RABAX_STATE
When we have checked the same in portal facing the below issues -
There is no iView available for system "SAP_ERP_HumanResources": object "employee". For more information, contact your administrator.
I have checked all the threads related to this issue found some replies :
Checking in tcode -lpd_cust - did not solve our problem
Applying the note - 1386141 , not sure about this..
Can any one please share their experices on this could be a great help.

I am not sure how this hap_start_page_powl_ui_ess is accessed. Looks to me that the application is being called with out the Configuration HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC
Try to start this application using the url parameter &sap-wd-configId = HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC
or
open this application and application parameter WDCONFIGURATIONID = HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC
or
if you use portal iView then use this HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC in the iView property. -
Flash6.ocx error (after patch)
I have downloaded the uninstaller from adobe, uninstalled,
rebooted, and reinstalled using the current flash player download
from adobe. After I reinstalled, I applied the MS update
(WindowsXP-KB923789-x86-ENU).
I am getting the following error message.

Any ideas? I have installed all windows updates and IE7 with
no luck.Same here! I am getting really frustrated. The site I am
trying to access is for school, and if I can't use it I can't
graduate. Each time I try to access I get an error message about
Shockwave Flashobject Active X control Flash6.ocx and than the site
shuts down. I have downloaded the patch.I have
uninstalled/reinstalled every adobe product. I have run a repair. I
have purchased an outside product to fix registry errors. If I go
into manage addons I can disable flash6.ocx and that gets me into
the site, but it won't load properly-so its still useless. It won't
let me delete it. BTW, I am running XP home with IE. I have to use
IE (school requirement) but I have tried Firefox and it still won't
work. I would really appreciate any suggestions anyone has. I have
emailed Adobe, but haven't heard back yet. -

Just applied NW65 sp2 server patch and the Border Manager 3.8 field patch
3c and now the server constantly beeps with the error message:
NMAS LAUNCH FAILED - PROXY AUTHENTICATION SERVICES DOWN
I have seen this on other servers recently patched but it generally goes
away after a couple of minutes. In this particular case, doesn't matter
what we do - reboot server, unload and reload proxy we still get this error
message every 20 seconds or so. Very annoying. If we unload proxy, the
error goes away but then of course we don't have a proxy server. Surely
there must be some simple solution for this? Thank you.

App World errors after new update
After updating my App World to version 3.1.1.21 just a couple of days ago, I've seen that installed apps, apps I clearly can open and use, is being shown as Uninstalled in App World while others my BB's program adm. is showing me that I have installed twice. But when deleting 1 of them, both was deleted. This is not a big problem, but something like this on an expensive phone should be 100%.
Has anyone else noticed this?
What can be done to fix it?
Is there another update on the way shortly to take care of this?
I use a Bold 9900 with the norwegian carrier NetCom, and all languages possible is in Norwegian.sorry, i've no hints but a second problem with the new release (3.1.1.21).
After intstall/reboot the appworld didn't react and is completely frozen. I see the icon within the running apps, but it seems dead. I have reinstalled the appworld app, but the behavior is still the same. Would be happy about any hints. -

I applied Patch 11724930 - 11.2.0.1.5 Patch Set Update to an Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 database. Everything went all according to the installation instructions. My database started up ok, but now if I check the components they don't reflect the new version. Please help is this ok?

I've been having a lot of problems with the SiriusXM app on my iphone 3GS. It is constantly buffering and or stops and much of the time I get the error, "Data Connection Lost, please check your connection"
As you can imagine this is very frustrating. I have restarted the phone and I've also tried resetting the network settings. I tried running Pandora today and that seemed to work fine. Maybe it is the App itself? Is anyone else having similar issues?
