Out of Memory,CS5

I have been working on a complex project for months now. In one 'module' I have multiple animations, and I am using large sub animations that scale. Now in one module, I cannot even publish the file - I am getting 'out of memory' messages, even though I have 8MB RAM and 64bit Velocity PC, WIn7. I am pulling my hair out!! Can I allocate more memory to Flash?  If I look at the Task Manager. it does not show I am using the full memory.  What  else could it be, something corrupted? I have tried cutting it in half, but both individual halves still have the same issue. Other Flash files that are bigger in size will compile. ANyone gots any ideas?  Thanks!

It could actually be this problem:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/776817?tstart=0
I'm also getting this message when I try to convert a group of shapes and MovieClips to a new MovieClip (in some rare cases) although the file isn't even that big at all.
But I don't get the message when I try to export the Movie, it always happens when editing.
Maybe you get also bugs like: Randomly duplicating Movieclips, Empty Symbols when trying to rename them, and more.

  • Indesign cs5.5 out of memory error

    Hi,
I am having constant problems with out of memory errors in indesign cs5.5 (version 7.5.3).  I am on a mac. Everything is up to date, I have preflight off, my display performance is on typical view and have tried restarted my computer multiple times.  I do not have any other programs open and the document I have open is 3 pages (8.5x11) with little content and a couple links to small images.  I do not know what to do!  This is affecting my job and my performance!! Please help!!!  Thank you!

    close the application
Rename the preferences from the following location
    /Users/[User Name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version #
    /Users/[User Name]/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/Version [#]
then open a new document and then open the document you are facing an issue with it should clear the memory issue temporally
    Alternate :
copy and paste the content in a new document and check if the 1st option does not work
PS : changing the folder name would reset the preferences
refer to KB : InDesign preferences and support file locations

  • Out of memory error in Illustrator CS5

Giving me 'insufficient memory was available to complete the operation' when trying to place and image (jpg ~23mb) inside a .ai file which is just a few KB large.
Laptop has 6GB physical RAM and 1GB virtual RAM.
Any ideas how to get around it?

I'm coming late to this issue, but my impression is that this is only the tip of the iceberg.  I've been experiencing multiple errors with my three Adobe products since moving from Win 7 to Win 8 (I did this so I could report to my clients -- the report is "don't do it!").
All three products (CS5 for 32 bits, CS4 for whatever CS5 won't handle in a 32 bit system, and Acrobat XI) have worked in perfect harmony for a number of weeks.  When I moved to Win 8, I encountered a number of situations.
The first was the one in this thread.  I would work on an image in PS5 and run out of memory when I tried to save it as a JPEG.  My guess was that the problem was not really in the saving, but in Adobe's method of conversion at the time of saving.  If I saved with the standard baseline, there'd be no problem; but if I saved with an "optimized" baseline, the insufficient memory message would appear.  Apparently, Adobe was trying to do too many operations at one time for the computer to handle.
This is the result of poor programming.  Resource management is a priority when working with images, even moreso when we have moving images.  But I've seen no problem in my Premier4 application, so whoever coded that program knew what they were doing.  The first thing that needs to be done when working with intense memory-draining situations is to parse the operations to fit the amount of available working memory (RAM + fileswap - other resources in use).  In other words, fit the work assignments to the available working space.
Why did this become an issue after I migrated to Win 8?
My guess is that it was because I installed Win 8 over Win 7 and that Adobe neither checked for changes in memory allotment, nor did it make any allowances.  So the kind of distribution of workloads that allowed Adobe to be successful in Win 7 did not work in Win 8.
    Another failure of the company!
These issues raise their head on a regular basis -- I noticed the problem go all the way back to Win XP (and maybe even Win 98).  All Adobe products should be designed to confirm their working environment at each boot-up; and if there is a change, then there needs to be a reaching out to the company's servers and an update that tells the products how to accomodate to that change.
I said there were multiple problems.  The rest of these are all in the same category:  permissions.
When I try to use the print>Adobe PDF method of converting a page in IE10 to PDF, it stops with the message that it does not have permission to access the folder in which I am trying to place it (I use folders outside the Windows "Documents" structure).  These folders are sometimes in other partitions, sometimes in external drives.  It makes no difference:  I am not allowed to save there.
This is a problem perculiar to the circumstances.  For example, if I use the Adobe add-on to make the conversion, there is no problem -- I can save it anywhere.  Only if I use the print-through-Adobe-PDF option in IE.  It does not cause problems in Firefox.  It does not cause problems in MS Office 2010.  It does not cause problems in almost any other situation.  But it does in the Internet Explorer container.
I said "almost" anywhere else.  I do get the same issue when I try to save a modified JPEG in Photoshop5 to my other partitions:
And, again, I've read about this issue with earlier versions of Windows, so it doesn't seem to be a Win 8 issue, but rather an Adobe issue that arises when the product is carried through a migration to Win 8 from Win 7 (and perhaps from XP to Win 7 or Vista), instead of being installed in a fresh OS.
    Hope the data is useful.

  • Indesign cs5 'out of memory' error when using preflight

I have been regulary getting an 'out of memory' error when i choose to use my bespoke preflight profile.
I have 4gig of ram and run Indesign CS5 on OS 10.6.8.
Does anyone know a work around?
As soon as I select from the basic default profile, i get the beach ball from hell for 10mins, then it kindly lets me know that I am out of memory, sends a crash report to Adobe and then asks if I want to relauch. I'm stuck in a vicious circle. I must of sent my 4th crash report now and no feedback from anyone at Adobe.

I have replaced my preferences, but still the problem persists. I have tried switching my view from typical display to fast display before i selected a profile. I thought this may give me the extra memory I needed to avoid the enevitable crash. I learnt that 2 files were indeed rgb instead of cmyk before it crashed again. So I switched them to cmyk and tried again, selected my bespoke profile, but yet again it crashed. I think the problem lies with the file, not Indesign, as i have tried the same profile on a different file and the program doesn't crash and runs as it should. So if in future I need to use said crashing file again, firstly i will need to try Peter's isolate fix method. Otherwise i'll never be able to progress to successful a pdf.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 out of memory when trying to find and replace

Please help. I am running Dreamweaver CS5 on a windows 7 os. This has happened in previous versions as well. This is a new computer and a new install. There are no memory shortages on this machine.
I go to search for something, and select either folder or files in current site. It starts, then flashes the "out of memory" dialog box and stops the search. I have to force quit to leave the program.Over and over. Find and replace of a site or folder is a crucial function I use this program for!
    Thanks for any help
    S

How big are the combined files in your Local Site folder?
My guess is that you have something really colossal such as server log files or something else that are causing DW to choke and freeze during its Find / Replace scan.
If you can identify the really huge files/folders in your site folder, you could use 'cloaking' to exclude them from DW operations.

You also need to know that although 4 gigs of memory may seem like a lot to you, it's NOTHING in AE terms.  Turn off multiprocessing until you get more RAM.   16 gigs is good for starters, and more is better.

  • InDesign CS5.5 Out of memory error on a i7 2.8ghz imac with 12GB RAM

    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4605576#4605576
this is the post that has much of the same issue but my difference is that i am on Indesign 5.5.
To shed some more insight, I am trying to make a press quality PDF direct from Indesign.
I have 2 pages in my document, I was able to get one page PDFed buth the larger was not able to.

Why won't it PDF? What error is it showing? Do other presets work? What does your layout look like?
Have you tried removing elements one at a time and exporting it and seeing which element is causing the issue?
Have you got images on the page - perhaps resaving them to a different format and relinking them will help?
I sincerely doubt it's out of memory, seen as I work on a computer with 3gb RAM and a Intel Core 2 2.13ghz processor and I never get that issue.

  • Flash CS5.5 - Out of memory

    Hi,
I have a project here that, all of the sudden, I can't export the SWF. The first couple of times it gave me and "out of memory" error in the Java subsystem or something and to change the value of memory in the jvm.ini. I did but nothing changed.
When I do ctrl+enter to test the movie, I see the "exporting SWF movie" process dialog and after like 3 minutes Flash crashes. It doesn't give an error now. It just closes.
I notice that when I open the project, Flash is using  408Mb of RAM. When I export, it jump to 1.5Gb, stays there for a bit and then crashes.
A log is also generated. These are the first lines:
    # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
    # java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: requested 655360 bytes for GrET in C:\BUILD_AREA\jdk6_18\hotspot\src\share\vm\utilities\growableArray.cpp. Out of swap space?

What can I do to fix this issue?
If anyone from Adobe want, I can send the full log file.
Using Windows 7 Pro 64 Bits, 4 Gb of RAM.

Believe me; I’ve already lost all my work, when it was about finished, but due to another issue. I’m currently creating that same project from scratch but I’m having this new issue now.
The reason why the FLA is so big it’s because there’s a 90Mb wave file in it and I need to see it in the timeline for easy mouth synchronization.
I've already deleted all unused bitmaps, movie clips, etc.
I don’t really think the problem is there because, like I said at the beginning of this post, this is the second attempt at a project that has almost finished. It had more bitmaps, more movie clips, a bigger timeline and the same wave file back then and there was no memory errors and it exported just fine. (expect the last time when it crashed and somehow corrupted the fla file and I lost everything)
I’ll try later to compress the wave to mp3 and import that to the project to see if the changes anything but I doubt it. Plus it might create an offset in the timeline. Flash doesn’t like sound files in the timeline

  • Premiere Pro CS5 runs out of memory

I have the same problem with Premiere running out of memory loading a project with lots of images in it.  Running task manager, you can see it eat memory at 250MB per second until it pegs the meter after a short time and then things start failing.  The CS4 version does not have this problem and opens the project without error.

What are the pixel x pixel dimensions of those still images? If they are overly-large, there is a very heavy load, when working with that Project. For Scaling them to fit the Sequence Frame Size, with automation in PS, see this ARTICLE.
If one's computer is already on the borderline for resources, overly-large stills can shove it over the brink. There are few reasons to use overly-large images, as one can only ever see the pixels in the Sequence's Frame Size. The only reason for using images larger than that Frame Size are to Pan on Zoomed out images, with Effect>Motion>Position.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Why is there a message saying I'm out of RAM when I try to save a file to my computer, when I know I am not out of memory?

I am on a Macbook 13' on OS X 10.9.2 running Photoshop CS5.1. I know I am not out of memory because I have just been through it with an Apple advisor. I was trying to save a PDF as a JPEG on my desktop. Restarted, still saying the same thing.
    Any ideas?

What are the Performance Preferences (screenshot please)?
    What are the image dimensions?

  • Error due to out of memory condition

    Hi,
system: Windows XP, 2 GM RAM, Indesign CS3
I placed two files in Indesign: the first is .ai (1.1 MB, probably exported form a CAD program), the second is .psd (53 MB). When I try to print to .ps file, Indesign displays the message: "Export error: error due to out of memory condition". If I: 1. export to PDF, everything is OK, 2. rasterize .ai in Photoshop, then import the resulting .psd to Indesign, print to .ps file is OK.
Does somebody has an answer to my problem?

My gues is "mistakes" was referred to simply not outputting as intended by the designer.  I had output issues when going directly to PDF and had to also continue the old way of doing thinkgs by outputting to .ps then distill to PDF.  The "mistakes" that occured for me were nearly unnoticed.  The publication was a 128+4 product catalog that had a header at the top of each page.  I never had any problems outputting in the past.  At the time, I just had updated to CS3 (XP Pro SP3 Dual Core 4 gigs ram).  I was advised that outputting directly to PDF had been durastically improved.  I output my files without "mistakes" or errors, or so I thought.  After proofing, I didn't realize that all of the drop shadows for the header headline were not applied.  The problem though, wasn't that they were applied to all headers, just beginning at page 60 or so, halfway through.  After getting the finished publication back, I didn't notice it for a few months.  After noticing it, I investigated.  Several troubleshooting hours later (after forum posts and other expert help), I/we concluded that it was simply a program deficiency.  During my trouble shooting, I looked at several areas mainly focusing on the transparency settings.  I output the document several times.  I finally exported each page separately and found that that was the only way that I could output every page to include the dropshadow in each header page (past page 60 or so).
I have been past that issue for a while now.  Now I am on Win 7, Quad core, 6 gigs of ram, and don't have the outputting problem that I used to.  Now I occasionally get this "Error due to out of memory condition" which is BS because my hardware specs are beyond reasonable for what I typically create in my workflow.  Most of the time, my memory is only at about half of its capacity when I get this error.  Not when I have a PS open with a large multipage file that I am working on.  My out of memory error happens during file output or just when performing ordinary layout functions in InDesign.
When on my personal computer (Aluminum iMac 2.4 Core2 duo, 4 gigs of ram, 512 video, CS4 & CS5) I have neither of the above issues.

  • Out of memory, then xfl corrupted

I had a very simple flash project going in CS5, when suddenly an out of memory exception appeared. I save my .xfl project - and restarted flash. Only to find that I could not reload the project...
Anybody else experienced xfl problems? Is it too soon to start using it?
A zip of the (broken) project is here:

Seems I'm not the only with these problems:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/638346?tstart=30
long story short, it sounds like saving as cs4-fla is the way to go for now. Shame, I really like the xfl-format, especially because it plays much nicer with version control systems.
    Btw. I'm running CS5 on Windows 7.

  • Opening RoboHelp HTML ver. 9.0 Projects - Out of memory error

I have just updated to Technical Communication Suite 3 which includes RoboHelp HTML 9. I have installed all of the latest updates as of 6/20/2011. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit OS, 6GB RAM. Note that I still have RoboHelp HTML 7 installed on the machine.
I can use all of the Technical Communication Suite applications (e.g., FrameMaker 10, PhotoShop CS5, etc) except RoboHelp 9.0. When I attempt to open any project (including the sample projects listed on the Starter screen, I receive the error:
"Unable to open the file c:\users\myname\Document\My RoboHelp Projects\Adobe RoboHelp 9\myprojectfolder\myprojectname\$rhvariable$.htm. Out of memory starting the editor services."
Please let me know if anyone has encountered this error and has resolved it.

  • Adobe CS6.0 out of memory error on iMac (early 2009)

    Hi:
Adobe CS6.0 Photoshop is returning "Out of Memory (RAM)" errors and is unusable on a lab of iMacs.
The system exceeds Adobe minimum specs (1GB ram).
Our school has a lab of computers with both Adobe CS5.5 and Adobe CS6.0 Master Collection installed on a lab of iMacs (early 2009).
The computers all have 4GB of memory and come with an NVidia GeForce 9400M 256MB video card.
I notice that this video card shares ram with the main system.
CS5.5 runs perfectly well but CS6.0 is not co-operating.
We have updated Photoshop to version 13.04 and have run Apple's Software Update (latest version).
I have looked online and this is a known problem with computers that have Adobe CS5 & 6 installed with Mac OS10.7.x but only on certain video cards.
There are people out there with 32 GB ram having the same problem.
I'm guessing the answer may be to update the video card drivers somehow.
    Your input is greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    ODrew

    Hi ODrew,
I'm shocked you can operate OK with only 4GB of RAM, that certainly wasn't enough for my 2007 iMac to not continually slow down!?
    CS6 Sys requiremnts...
    Mac OS
Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
    Mac OS X v10.6.8, v10.7, or v10.8**
    4GB of RAM (8GB recommended)
4GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
Additional disk space required for preview files and other working files (10GB recommended)
    1280x900 display
7200 RPM hard drive (multiple fast disk drives, preferably RAID 0 configured, recommended)
    OpenGL 2.0–capable system
DVD-ROM drive compatible with dual-layer DVDs (SuperDrive for burning DVDs; Blu-ray burner for creating Blu-ray Disc media)
QuickTime 7.6.6 software required for QuickTime features
Optional: Adobe-certified GPU card for GPU-accelerated performance

  • Out of memory errors when reporting on checked out files

My Dreamweaver CC version is up to date. I haven't been able to complete a report to find checked out files. I can see it running at a speed of about 2 files per second. We have a few thousand files on the web server, but I didn't have a problem with CS5.5. I can't understand why it takes so long to simply search for .LCK files. I can search for them using Agent Ransack in a matter of seconds. I've seen some other out of memory issues posted here too, so hopefully Adobe can get this fixed and release the next update soon.
(I haven't seen any improvement in performance with the 64-bit re-engineering.)

    Hi AdobeJobie,
We would like to investigate your case. If you have a purchased version of DW, send me your Adobe ID, location, and contact details (email, phone number) over a private message. Click my picture and use the message option.
