<b>3. Why Idoc and Http adapters dont have sender agreement ?</b>
The straight answer is IDOC and HTTP adapter are in ABAP stack. And for adaptors which are in ABAP stack ..u need not create the communication channel..these are already linked to Integration Engine.
To understand this better go thorugh this Doc

<b>4. How to test Xi scenario?</b>
You can test the scenario in ID.. Goto Tools in the menu bar, you will find the option Test Scenario

    Hello Collegeus
Our company buy server IBM Xseries 3860 for to store databases (95%, qty=12 databases) of ERP and BI we have, to ensure the performance of the solution going to install oracle rac, but do not know if mandatory to have a CLUSTER to do this and do not find clear documentation on this topic.
This license is needed?, that another way I can do without affecting my performace?
our system is suse linux 11, and oracle 10.2.0.4
    can you help?

  • Transaction SWPC when scheduled in Background  is not working

    Hi All,
I have scheduled the program RSWP_CONTINUE_WORKFLOWS_GRID  behind the transaction : SWPC daily at 11 : 00 PM system time.
The creation date is selected as Creation date GE Sy-datum-1 dynamically and continue immediately option is also checked.
However the background job is not  picking the list and restarting the workitems that are reported in system crash.
When executed  the transaction in foreground , list is coming and I can able to restart the work items.
Is there any other setting which I am missing or Please let me know your inputs  to solve the issue.
    Many Thanks !

    Hi,
I have chcked the ST22, there is no short dump and move over the step where the processing is stopped is a backgroung step.
The same backgound step is execute fine for other workflow instances only few are getting strucked tp at this background  step.
    The Process :
when MIGO is perfomed,  the euipments will be created.
once equipement is created, the customer workflow gets triggred and euipment is updated.
Suppose when MIGO is done 500 equipements gets created  based on the quantity and 500 times the workflow gets triggered for the updation of the equipments.
sometimes, the backgroung job is working for around 495-497 , for remianing few euipments 2/3 , its getting struked up.
For few indtances all the 500 euipements gets updated with out any issues.
Only fews cases its getting down.
Is this something related to performace of the system or performance of the code which is wriiten for the backgroung job.
Please let me know your inputs.
    Many Thanks !

  • Photoshop CS6 Performance Settings Recommendations?

I use Photoshop CS6 for Image editing.
I just purchased a new Imac 27 inch late 2012 Model with an i7 3.4Ghz Processor plus the following:
    1TB Fusiion HDD
    24Gb of System Ram
    2GB Video Card.
This screenshot shows what I currenlty have as my setttings in the performance pane.
I'd like if possible to maximize the performace given my system spec.
Are these settings I have now optimum?
I have my scratch disc currently set to be my MacHDD
I do have a FW800 Aux1 which is not being used that has 900GB of free space.
    Should I use it also?
Any suggestions on performace would be appreciated

First, without describing the kind of Photoshop work you do, no one is going to be able to do more than guess wildly at how to set up your system.  There are some general guidelines, some of which C.P. has stated.  Do you edit huge documents?  Long editing sessions?  Bunches of documents at once?
Photoshop does not use multiple scratch disks simultaneously as far as I can tell.  It's more of a "this one ran out of space, let me fall back to the next entry in the list" kind of thing.  So there's no real performance advantage to specifying two drives as far as I can see - just convenience if you have limited space.
When pushing up against limits, it's good to allow the OS to have full access to the system HDD (e.g., for its own swapping) while Photoshop has concurrent access to its own, separate scratch drive. This way the I/O activity of both doesn't interfere and cause thrashing (lots of seeking, greatly reduced throughput).
What's a "Fusiion HDD"?  I ask because C.P.'s "don't use the system drive for scratch" advice, while right on point with a standard HDD, may not be as pertinent with a drive that has near-SSD performance via an SSD caching scheme.  Since SSDs have near-zero latency (no seeking), and usually quite a lot more throughput capacity than HDDs, it's less important to keep the OS and Photoshop from interferining with one another.
With 24GB of RAM you're probably not having to do a terribly large amount of scratch file writes/reads anyway.  Are you experiencing slowdowns?

  • Web Application Designer 7.0 Performance

    Hi All,
We are migrating WAD from 3.x to 7.0. When we execute in WAD 3.x, the performance is good but when we execute the same with WAD 7.0, the performance is not fair.
It takes huge time to execute. I have done all performace techniques at system leve like creating indexes, aggregates etc.
    Please suggest some pointers.

  • Cluster file systems performace issues

    hi all,
I've been running a 3 node 10gR2 RAC cluster on linux using OCFS2 filesystem for some time as a test environment which is due to go into production.
Recently I noticed some performance issues when reading from disk so I did some comparisons and the results don't seem to make any sense.
For the purposes of my tests I created a single node instance and created the following tablespaces:
    i) a local filesystem using ext3
ii) an ext3 filesystem on the SAN
iii) an OCFS2 filesystem on the SAN
iv) and a raw device on the SAN.
I created a similar table with the exact data in each tablespace containing 900,000 rows and created the same index one each table.
(i was trying to generate a i/o intensive select statement, but also one which is reallistic to our application)
I then ran the same query against each table (making sure to flush the buffer cache between each query execution).
I checked that the explain plan were the same for all queries (they were) and the physical reads (from an autotrace) were also comparable.
The results from the ext3 filesystems (both local and SAN) were approx 1 second, whilst the results from OCFS2 and the raw device were between 11 and 19 seconds.
I have tried this test every day for the past 5 days and the results are always in this ballpark.
we currently cannot put this environment into production as queries which read from disk are cripplingly slow....
I have tried comparing simple file copies from an OS level and the speed differences are not apparent - so the issue only manifests itself when the data is read via an oracle db.
judging from this, and many other forums, OCFS2 is in quite wide use so this cannot be an inherent problem with this type of filesystem.
Also, given the results from my raw device test I am not sure that moving to ASM would provide any benefits either...
if anyone has any advice, I'd be very grateful

    Hi,
spontaneously, my question would be: How did you eliminate the influence of the Linux File System Cache on ext3? OCFS2 is accessed with the o_direct flag - there will be no caching. The same holds true for RAW devices. This could have an influence on your test and I did not see a configuration step to avoid it.
What I saw, though, is "counter test": "I have tried comparing simple file copies from an OS level and the speed differences are not apparent - so the issue only manifests itself when the data is read via an oracle db." and I have no good answer to that one.
Maybe this paper has: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/linux/pdf/Linux-FS-Performance-Comparison.pdf - it's a bit older, but explains some of the interdependencies.
Last question: While you spent a lot of effort on proving that this one query is slower on OCFS2 or RAW than on ext3 for the initial read (that's why you flushed the buffer cache before each run), how realistic is this scenario when this system goes into production? I mean, how many times will this query be read completely from disk as opposed to use some block from the buffer? If you consider that, what impact does the "IO read time from disk" have on the overall performance of the system? If you do not isolate the test to just a read, how do writes compare?
    Just some questions. Thanks.

  • Database Performace Report

    Hi
We are having many Oracle 10.2.0.3 instances on Unix and Windows .
We donot have Enterprise Manager configured and we donot have licence for the diagnostic packs.
Requirement : My manager wants a Graphical Report for each database intance showing its performace details . He needs the reports monthly .*
I tried to convince him by generating AWR reports , however he said he is not satistisfied with it because its too technical . He needs something in a graphical format or a presentation format where a non technical person can easily understand some things like :
    1) When was peak load on the database
    2) Which Application was using most resources
    3) Which Table/Object was most queried
    4) Statistics in regards to Disk/Network/CPU
Actually the report should be similar or a kind of Oracle EM dbcontrol's Persormace Tab where we can see all the graphs at any point of time .
I have to create a dynamic report every month with the details mentioned above for any point of Time with in the last one month.
The resulting report can be in Excel or PPT
Any pointers or Templates to get the result is highly appreciated .
    Thanks

Ok, I have simulated your problem and I fixed it:
1- Download the      ojdbc14.jar file from this link: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/jdbc-10201-088211.html
2- In the run.sh file change the content like belows:
    #!/bin/ksh
    # Licensed to the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Version 3
    # ASH Viewer start up batch script
    # Required ENV vars:
    # JAVA_HOME - location of a JDK home dir
    export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0.x86_64
    export CLASSPATH=/home/oracle/ashv-3.4-bin/lib
    export JAVA_EXE=$JAVA_HOME/bin/java
    $JAVA_EXE -cp /home/oracle/ashv-3.4-bin/lib  -Xmx128m  -jar ASHV.jar
~                                                                       Don't forget to change to your JAVA_HOME, in my case my JAVA_HOME is /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0.x86_64
3- don't forget to run the following command in order to convert the file in Linux:
    dos2unix run.sh
4- Change the permission so the run.sh become executable
5- Make sure the Oracle system user has the privilege to execute and access the ashv-3.4-bin folder
    6- run ./run.sh
and you will get the graphs and the screens
    Hope it helps,

  • Upgrade critical system from 10.1.2.2.0 to 10.1.2.3

    Hello guys,
I have some problems regarding Portal performace, Oracle support advised me to upgrade our application server from 10.1.2.2.0 to 10.1.2.3 by applying a patchset.
    environment:
    Solaris SPARC 64
    Infra is installed
    installation type is BI
the system is very very very critical and cannot be down for more than 8 hours/ month (enough only for backup and patchset installation).
my question: is there any risk by installaing this patchset to our system (compatability issues maybe) ?
if you need any information please tell me
    Regards.

You need a redundant instance to give you the 'critical system availability' feature. This should not be merely test system which you can have to try and test applications without affecting the main instance. But because you need a moderately available system - if you do not wish to hit unavailability for more than 8 hrs.
Secondly, yes, you need a Test system which can be made by using a clone. Apply patch set 3 to upgrade your OAS to 10.1.2.3.
Patch Set 3 will somewhat help your system in many ways - specially in performance, and webcache error fixing, and some other problems. Oracle now tends to push you to first come to the latest software version for your product, and then the support helps more. But that's right, PSet 3 helps.
Patch Set 3 includes an implicit infra DB upgrade (as default DB version in rel 2 was 10.1.0.4 and PSet 3 needs at least 10.1.0.5+.
Patch Set 3 upgrades your software for infra, midtier and metadata repository, and then upgrade metadata repository. So about 4 major steps! I have also addressed it several times before in these forums. Search in this forum and in the portal forum for patch set 3 and you should get detailed help.
After PSet 3, you will need a few other short patches to install. But they should be smooth to implement. check metalink for it.
    thanks!

  • Mapping too many fields can cause load on the system?

    Hi Experts,
I have a question about a mapping .. I am mapping an IDOC to a web-service. The Web-service structure is having the exact same structure as the idoc, but all the fields are not necessary. But the Owner of the web-service is requesting me to map all fields even though it is not required. So my question is ,Will this unwanted field mappings can create an overload/burden on xi system ? I am getting the idoc from an R/3 system  and then I use a BPM to send it to web-service to send the invoice to ORACLE ERP and the response I am getting is used to update the status of IDOC in R/3. Your thoughts on this please..
    Thanks

    Hi,
normally a standard mapping (I guess graphical) which is 1:1 will definetely not cause any performace issues! Sometimes negative effects are experienced with very complex mappings and many transformations, calculations, value-based actions, etc. Even XSLTs and large mssages could be a problem, because each time the whole message is read. In such cases JAVA mappings may help.
But your case all should be fine ;o)

    Kai

  • High volume of batches with Split valuation - impact on system performance

    Hi!
I have a client that is intending to load a new material type from their legacy system which will be automatically batch managed with split valuation.  So, Valuation category will be 'x' and the valuation type will also be the batch number as automatically created on GR.
The concern of the client is the impact on system performance.  Having up to 80,000 batches per material master record (so, 80,000 valuation types will be mainatined with a unique price in the Accounting 1 tab of the MMR) and overall around 1 million batches a year.  I'm not aware of any system performance issues around this myself but there seems to be anecdotal evidence that SAP has advised against using this functionality with high volumes of batches.
Could you please let me know of any potential problems I might encounter, having 1 million batches with split valuation may cause?  Logically, this would increase to tens of millions of batches over time until archived off via SARA.
    Many thanks!
    Anthony

I currently have about 1.5 million batches with split valuation in my system (but it is not the X split), and we archive yearly.
having many batches for one material ( lets say 1000) causes dramatic performace issues during automatic batch determination.
it took about 5 minutes until a batch was returned into a delivery. if the user then wants a different batch and has to carry out batch determination again, then he just works for 10 to 15 minutes on one delivery.
This is mainly caused by the storage location segment of the batches. if one batch gets movedd within a plant thru 3 different locations, then the batch has 3 records in table MCHB. But SAP has a report to reorganize the MCHB table that have zero stock.
The X split has more effect, it is not only the batch table that makes issues in this case. With the x-split SAP adds an MBEW record (material master valuation view) for each new batch.
However, if the design is made to get a certain functionality (here valution at batch level),   then you have to get a proper hardware in place that can give you the performance that is needed.

  • System becoming un-responsive after upgrade to Maverick

After upgrading to Maverick I am experiencing massive performace problems to the point of the system not being usable.
    System: 2010 iMac
Upgraded Yesterday morning, Upgrade process went smooth, no issues at first. First symptoms of problems were hick-ups in video playback, jerks in window switching. From then on over several hours the system became slower and slower to the point of being unusable. Performed system reboot, which took 45min, followed by fast degradation and unusability.
Attempted revovery actions with help from Apple support (thanks, even though the problem remains so far):
Booted system via the network into recovery mode, performed disk check: SMART status OK,  verified and repaired disk no issues deteced, verified partition, no issues detected, data volume looks correct.
    Attempted normal boot-up, unsucceful
Performed powerdown, followed by opt+cntr+R+P boot, no success
Performed safe boot (shift), system came back up after 1.5 hours, extremely unresponsive, but at least it is up. I am scared to try to shut it down.
Diagnosis attempts: Other than time-outs, no unusual errors in console, file hirachy and files look Ok from terminal, access very slow. Can't see any obviously problematic processes in Activity Monitor, RAM usage about 2.5GBytes out of 12GBytes total, largest is kernel with 700MB, CPU not loaded, no high disk or network io. Evything looks to me like a pefectly normal system that runs at 1/100th or so speed.
Maverick managed to perform a time machine back-up over night and all earlier back-up are gone. So no chance to restore back to Mountain Lion that way.
Anybody with similar problems, any ideas for next steps?
    Thanks

  • HOW COULD CONNECT FROM SAP SYSTEM TO THIRD PARTY JAVA APPLICATION

    HI expects,
HOW COULD CONNECT FROM SAP SYSTEM TO THIRD PARTY JAVA or . DET APPLICATION.please provide me some scenarios and documents.please help me.

    Hi,
In the sender side i.e. in SAP system you can use IDoc/RFC/Proxy to push the data to XI.
IDoc supports only Async communication and in Sync case performace is good using Proxy.
In the receiver side you can use Java Proxy to connect to the Java application or you can even bulid a webservice over the Java/.Net application and use SOAP adapter to post data to it.
    Thanks

  • ASM vs ext3 File system(mount point)

Please suggest which one is better for small databases.
ASM or ext3 File system(mount point)?
    Any metalink note.

ASM better if you do not want to play with I/O tiuning, (if you tune ext3 file system it woud be the same from performace view),
but it more compilcated for admininstering database files in ASM then in ordinary file system.
Oracle is recomending to use ASM for database file system.
I woud think if you have some development database and nead a lot of cloning, moving of datafiles its better to use ordinary file system,
so you can use copy OS comands, not so complicated.
If you nead some striping, miroring, snapshoting from ext3 you can use LVM on unix/linux.
I am not sure but I think what striping or miroring is better on ASM then on LVM, becouse ASM is doing it better for databse I/O.

  • Performace testing a Method?

Hi like to find out the best way to test the performace of methods.
    When i use something like:
    long startTime = System.currentTimeMillis ();
    for(int i=0; i<1000; i++){
    callTestMethod();
    long endTime = System.currentTimeMillis ();
    System.out.println("Time Taken = "+(endTime - startTime));
i'll get 16 on the first time, then 0 forever. Even 1000 loops should take more time.
Using win XP, on a athlon 2100.
What am i doing wrong here?
    Thanks, Harley.

    Here are two obvious problems:
    1. On a HotSpot JVM, the method will be interpreted at first, and then will be compiled when the JVM determines that most program time is spent in that method. You should call the method enough times so that it is compiled, and then do your timing tests.
    2. It looks like you expect System.currentTimeMillis to have a resolution of 1 ms. It generally has a much lower resolution, around tens of milliseconds. Increase the number of iterations between calls to System.currentTimeMillis enough so that the time interval is at least several seconds.
