Pipeline URL
Hi All,
I want some clarifications regarding the Pipeline URL's that we specify in the SLD .
In our Landscape we have a XI 3.0 SP10 J2EE engine as well a Plain J2SE Adapter Engine Installed.
Then, Is that we will have two Integration Server's in the SLD or I am confused about this....
When I see the Pipeline URls of the Integration Server's:
http://sapxi30:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
http://sapxi30.nwk.amer.csc.com:8000/sap/xi/engine/?type=entry
What is the difference between these two URL's ?
Then one more question ....
What is the diff between giving ?type=entry and action=execute ?
I suppose that I am asking some Basic Questions but I want some clarifications or Suggested Documents to get cleared with this stuff.
Many thanks,
Romit.
Hi Romit,
1. The URL's you mention are both identical. The first one (http://sapxi30:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry) only consists of the hostname of the XI-server. This will only work when the client which makes connection resides in the same domain or when the hostname is mentioned in the hosts file.
The second one (http://sapxi30.nwk.amer.csc.com:8000/sap/xi/engine/?type=entry) is the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). In your cade nwk.amer.csc.com is the dns-name of the domain in which your XI host resides. This is the URL which should be used normally, even when the clients are in other domains, this one should work.
I hope I've made it a bit clearer. If not, you should as one of the network guys from your company, he can also explain this.
2. The difference between ?type=entry and action=execute ?
?type = entry is part of the URL the integration server pipeline, as you know.
action=execute is something different. This is an attribute which can be used in an JDBC-message.

Alwin

Do I need to enter Pipeline URL under Integration under Business System in SLD?
I don't have anything right now? Shouldn't this entry be automatic? Why I need to enter manually if I need to at all?
Please help!
Thanks
BobDo I need to enter Pipeline URL under Integration under Business System in SLD?
--> yes, we shd provide this in SLD.
I don't have anything right now?
--> http://<ur server>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
give your server at <ur server>
Shouldn't this entry be automatic?
-->it shd be entered in SLD once.
Why I need to enter manually if I need to at all?
--> if you configure it in SLD once then there is no need for you to do it again.
By giving this URL yoou are connecting your adapter engine to Integration engine. once your adapter picks the message, it will check the BS and based on the configuration of BS it will push the message.
some times we can configure our adapter engine as a stand alone system with out IE or with different IE's, that is the reason SAP allows us to configure it. -
Pipeline URL in SLD not shown in SAP PI
Hello PI-gurus,
I've got a problem with the SLD PipeLine URL data of a Business System and the SAP PI Integration Engine Configuration Data.
I've changed in SLD the name of the Pipeline URL in the Integration tab
of the Business System of SAP PI. Saved the entry and after restarted SLD and SAP PI Istill see in SAP PI the wrong (old) name.
When I perform in SAP PI (SXMB_ADM) the Global Configuration Data and
do a System Landscape - Load Configuration the wrong (old) entry is set in
SAP PI. When I look in SLD the name of the Pipeline URL is correct.
I've also refreshed all the caches in de exchangeProfile and also in the ID en IR.
Please advise.
Best regards,
Mike LaanenThe RFC between SAP PI and SLD is working correct, an other strange thing is that the sldcheck provides the same wrong (old) name in the section:
Calling function LCR_GET_BS_DETAILS
Retrieving data from the SLD server...
Function call terminated sucessfully
Details of own business system TXE100
caption = TXE100
product = SAP NETWEAVER
IS-URL = http<b>:/</b><host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry

Hello,
I need to change the pipeline url for my XI. I did changed it in SLD -> Business System and in SXMB_ADM -> Integration Engine Configuration. But when I check the configuration in SXMB_ADM (F7), it seems that everything is not correct:
Yellow triangle and this message: "Corresponding Integration Server: Current Configuration <> System Landscape"
What can I do to force the new pipeline url to be used ? Restart something, refresh something ? I did refresh everything I can, but it didn't fix the problem.
Please be specific in your directions, my XI administrative knowledge is limited.
Thanks
JeromeHello,
First thanks everyone for your help. Now Pipeline url are the same everywhere.
However, the server seems to still listen on the old url... Just to give you the context, the old and new url are almost the same, I just changed the port. Currently, old url still returns "Empty HTTP query received" and new one return "http error 404".
I did restart all instances in sapmcc to try to force the change, but it didn't help.
What should I try next ? Change another setting, refresh/restart something ?
Thanks again,

Adding pipeline url in SLD buisness system
Hi,
I am trying to add "pipeline URL" in an exisitng buisness system in a central SLD. The role of the buisness system is Integration Server. But i am not able to save the pipeline url , after clicking the save, the url value is again showing as blank.
i have checked the SXMB_ADM in integration server and the url value is showing as correctly and also successfully loaded the system configuration from SLD with correct Integration server url.
How can i make the pipeline url entry in SLD buisness system definition? The role of the buisness system is Integration Server.
Does that business system refer to the XI system? Ususally only XI business system is assigned as the role of Integration server. Make sure that if it is an R3 or ECC system, the role is Application Server.

No_messaging_url_found: Unable to find URL for Adapter Engine
Hi,
I am facing the same problem. I have configured a RFC-File scenario.
I get the error"no_messaging_url_found: Unable to find URL for Adapter Engine af.<SID>.<server>"
and <INTERNAL.AE_DETAILS_GET_ERROR>
I get the error "no_messaging_url_found: Unable to find URL for Adapter Engine" when I execute the Function Module SAI_AE_DETAILS_GET.
This error occured in the line 235( sap_xi_adapter_services = sld_accessor->associators( iref = sap_xi_adapter_framework assocclass = 'SAP_HostedXIAdapterServi) of the FM.
The value is not filled and i get the error mentioned.
I have gone through thread and verified all the points mentioned.
I have checked SXI_CAHCE,there are no locked users in RSUSR200,
SXI_CACHE, Goto->AdapterEngine Cache, I have an entry af.<sid>.<server>
In SLD,Technical Landscape,Exchange Infrastructure I have the entry <SID>.<Server> against the Adapter Engine
But as was mentioned in the thread the line 241 of the Fucntion Module has 'adapterType' and not 'Adaptertype' as in the exchange profile.I did not try changing 'a' to 'A'.
Could you please let me know how to solve the problem.
Thanks in advance.Hi Vani,
Check the pipeline URL in the SLD
Business System->URL
It should be
http://host:HTTPport/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
Just check this thread- may be useful-

Runtime error in transmitting message
In a scenario in XI using File sender to IDoc receiver Communication channel, I am getting an error in RWB Messg Monitoring (Details>Audit).
The file is picked up by the File adapter. But, moving ahead, we get this error.
"Transmitting the message to endpoint hhtp://blade3:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: java.net.MalformedURLException: unknown protocol: hhtp."
Could any body please tell how to fix it? Why is the error being generated?HI Niladri
) Check pipeline URL in the SLD in the business system of the Integration Server
For this go to SLD->Business System-><Integrtaion Server>->Pipline URL: It should be like this http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
Where host is the host name of the Integration Server and port is the HTTP(8xxx) port.
2) RWB error - have a look into this SAP Note -768456
3) Check the ICM port also. Go to SMICM->Services here you should have http port
Cheers..

http://<server>:50000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=execute

Once we logged into SLD and selected the business system for the integration server we change the pipeline URL to the following

Adapter Engine / Integration Server Problem
Hi,
I'm new to SAP and I have some questions regarding my new PI 7.0 SP10 setup.
Problem:
In Integration Directory, when I tried to define a communication channel, after specifying the "Adapter Type" (File in my case), I had to specify the "Adapter Engine" from a drop-down. But the dropdown list is empty!
What I've done & Observations:
1. I've recently imported the file "XI7_0_SAP_BASIS_7.00_06_00.tpz" (From the installation DVD). After importing, I've refreshed the SLD cache.
2. SLDCHECK reveals that the connection to SLD is successful.
3. RWB component monitoring shows:
Integration Server - No light (Node cannot be expanded)
Integration Engines - No light (Node cannot be expanded)
Non-Central Adapter Engines -
Adapter Engine ootspdbs02 (Red Light)
- Self Test Failed - Details: Client 010 is not available in this system.
- Cache Connectivity Test:
Attempt to fetch cache data from Integration Directory failed; cache could not be updated
[Fetch Data]: Unable to find an associated SLD element (source element: SAP_XIIntegrationServer, [CreationClassName, SAP_XIIntegrationServer, string, Name, is.01.ootspdbs02, string], target element type: SAP_BusinessSystem)
J2SE Adapter - No light (Node cannot be expanded)
Tools
- System Landscape Directory ootspdbs02 (Green Light)
- Integration Directory ootspdbs02 (Green Light)
- Integration Repository ootspdbs02 (Green Light)
- Runtime Workbench ootspdbs02 (Green Light)
4. In my SLD - I've defined a business system PI_BS_01
Role: Integration Server
Pipeline URL: http://OOTSPDBS02:8001/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
Group - No Group Assigned.
Client: 001 of PI1
Technical System: PI1 on ootspdbs02 - Release 700
Given the above observations, can anyone please point out to me where I went wrong?
Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

JishiHi Jishi
Not enough information in the trace.
Boost up ur trace level as Manish said, also check the entry for your pipeline url as well in your SLD for the business system you are using.
It should be something like this,
http://XIServer:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry

While processing a message : Error HTTP 404: not found
Hi gurus,
I'm stuck on a File-XI-IDoc scenario.
Here is the message i get in the Message Tool Display:
Erreur lors de la transmission du message au point d'accès http://rchase12:53000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry via la connexion File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System. Motif : com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Received HTTP response code 404 : Not Found
It's in French but it it's like my url is not good. I read about the port that must be 80xx in place of 53000 is it true?? I can't find any information about it, in another place than some forum topics.
Could anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.
ThomasHi,
Description: The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
Possible Tips:- for HTTP_RESP_STATUS_CODE_NOT_OK 404
u2022 404 is an HTTP response code that indicates that the resource in question couldn't be found. Usually this is due to an incorrect URL, so it is better to cross check all URLs. Check pipeline URL in the SLD in the business system of the Integration Server For this go to SLD->Business System-><yourIntegrtaion Server>->Pipeline URL: It should be like this http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry Where host is the host name of the Integration Server and port is the HTTP(8xxx) port. To verify this in Integration Server you can do like this. Go to SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Choose Edit from Menu -> Change Global Configuration Data to switch to change mode. Then select System Landscape - Load Configuration. (This is not required always)
u2022 Check that the port really is the ICM HTTP Port and not the J2EE port i.e SMICM then menu GOTO --> SERVICES and check the port number for HTTP. It should be HTTP port
u2022 If the error is Page cannot be displayed, cannot find server in https configurations Check and correct the SSL configuration for the ABAP and the J2EE side of the system
u2022 If the error is because of integration server when using Proxy communications then check these. i.e SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Corresponding Integration Server enrty should be dest://<Http Integration server-Destination> Where < Http Integration server -Destination > is the RFC destination (SM59) of type HTTP connection (type H) to the Integration Server. In this case, host name, port, and path prefix are saved in the RFC destination.

How to change the ROLE: Integration server in business system in SLD
Hi,
I am facing error in communication, becuase the integration server has been attached to in correct business system with incorrect client (001 instead of 700).
In SLD, business system, 'integration' tab there is button "Associate with XI'.
I have selected the role as integration server for the corrrect business system and aslo gave the correct pipeline url for integration server.
When I press the button "Associate with XI" and Save nothing happened.
How do i change my integration server.
Please help.
Regards,
RehanHi Gaurav,
I have checked the teachnical system and its of type WEB AS ABAP. and when i click on the business systems tab, there are two business systems. When i double click on the business systems
I realised that both the business systems has been defined with role: integration server.
IN one business system i can see that there is "associate with XI" button.
But when i want to chnage the business system with correct client 700 , i tried pressing the button after entering the correct pileline url.... nothing happens.....
Can you please let me know the procedure to chnage the technical system with respect to integration engine???
PLease help as our project is held up due to this.

Hi guys,
In my scenario XI to R3 via ABAP Proxy. In cache R/3 side shows me two red triangles: unable to refresh content and an error during last update. The error id BUSINESS_SYSTEM and the message is: NO INTEGRATION SERVER.
Yesterday admin team changes the physical machine! I already create a new technical system and a new business system and import the BS to ID with a same name! I need create all the objects again: receiver interface, determination, etc?
I also check the transactions SLDAPICUST, SICF, sm59, smicm, slscheck and sxmb_adm > Integration configuration.
The icf services are running, the RFC connections shows a http code 500 (it means that is ok) and in integration configuration I have defined my Business sys type "LOC" and in IS_URL, the URL of XI integration server.
I think everything is ok!
Guys any suggestions to check other points?
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo. In the SLD your XI business system should contain the pipeline URL http://<host>:<abap_port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry and this business system role should be <b>Integration Server</b>.

Received HTTP response code 500..
Hi All
Whenever i try a scenario with file adapter as the sender, i get the following error in the runtime workbench (message monitoring).
"Transmitting the message to endpoint http://USSAPVM7:8000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=execute using connection AFW failed, due to: Received HTTP response code 500.."
Can anyone let me know as to what could be the cause of the problem. Please remember the response code is 500 and not 503.
regards
SameerHi Sudhir/Siva
My pipeline url has the following entry,
http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=execute
so u recommend that i should change it to,
http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=entry
(or)
http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine/entry?type=entry
(or)
http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
which one of the above three should i change to. But whenever i try other scenarios such as idoc to file, it works fine. So by changing the pipeline url, will there be any problem while executing the the other scenarios.
cheers
