Problem while importing data schema not found
Hi,
I'm facing problem while importing data through system to a schema and impdp gives me error that schema XYZ was not found but when I query dba_users schema exist there what could be the reason of this.

Based on my research, the issue might be related to one of the following factors:
Memory pressure. Check there is a memory challenge when the issue occurs. In addition, if the package runs in 32-bit runtime on the specific server, use the 64-bit runtime instead.
A known issue with SQL Native Client. As a workaround, use .NET data provider instead of SNAC.

Import javax.mail not found problem
I have downloaded the most recent mail.jar and activation.jar files and have created a library w/in JDev called javamail and have added these jars to that library. I have also included this library in my ViewController Project. The problem I am having is that the following imports statements are not found by JDev:

When I open up the mail.jar I can find all of these classes, so why are these imports not being recongnized?
I have also tried import javax.mail.*; to include everthing and this does not work either.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this issue?Try to add the J2EE library - which is predefined in JDeveloper- to your project's libraries.

i don't exactly know why this is a problem, but if your not on latest (881 p10) then upgrade and try again.
Or as a workaround,
try saveing from CR to SAP with the CR add-on. That usualy works better then the import.

Logon Error while importing data
Hello,
I have "Countries" flat table in my repository containing 2 fields Name & ISO Code.
I wanted to import data i.e. Name & ISO Code in this flat table via Import Manager.
I have excel file containing Name & ISO Code data.
While importing data, I am getting an error:- "Logon Error: External table is not in the expected format."
Would anybody know about this issue?

If xlsx then change it to xls and check if problem is solved .
If not try with disable macros.

After I got this error I upgraded the Kernel from patch level 159 to 179,
After that I restarted the update again but the system is still running on u201CIMPORT_PROPERu201D and dose not given any update,

We are applying in support packages in SAP R/3 4.6C HR Development
(TFI) environment. We planned with installing all the SP stacks
starting from 1 to 9.
-Updated kernel, tp , r3trans and SPAM level to latest level.
We received the following error in Import_Proper step of Support
package upgrade. Though the step has been repeated after making sure
that we have all the required files at OS level, we go this error
repeatedly.

While playing around I have deleted the transport from the tp buffer
and added manually, before doing so I made a backup of tp buffer at OS
level and I got following error though I reverted back to backed-up
copy.
- Error in phase: IMPORT_PROPER
- Reason for error: TP_BUFFER_INCONSISTENCY
- Return code: 0008
- Error message: Wrong sequence of Packages in the tp buffer (e.g.
SAPKB46C52 )
I then tried to disassemble the package separately and reran the
import queue. Now I have RC 8 on that support package.
When I did R3trans -l on the datafile it completed successfully.
D:\>R3trans -l \usr\sap\trans\data\RB46C52.SAP
This is R3trans version 6.05 (release 46D - 27.10.08 - 16:32:00).
R3trans finished (0000).
I verified the size of file "CSR0120031469_0023301.PAT" and it is the
same as mentioned in SSP.

While importing data from database, I want to trunc few column values so that I can put complex join, but I am not getting any link to do so.
Can anyone suggest me that if on database, if two tables are linked by outer join, than how can I restore the same join state in Physical layer while maintaining star schema.

This query is a select type physical table in a physical layer of the RPD
select distinct project_no,project_name from cw_vertical_d where project_no = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."Project_Number")
NQ_SESSION."Project_Number" is a session non system variable.I am trying to set this variable through a dashboard prompt ( as a request variable ).
So when a user selects any value in the dashboard prompt then this session non system variable "Project_Number" should be set and then BI Server should fire a query with this value to pick the data from database.
But this report is failing with "*[nQSError: 23006] The session variable, NQ_SESSION."Project_Number", has no value definition*" error.
Don't know what is causing this?

This is a Maintenance View, not a Database View
SO can't fetch data using select statement.
You can use the Table <b>T685</b> directly to fetch the condition Types data straight away instead of the view. write the same select for this table and use.

So i resave the csv in xls and then chose the utf-8 thingy and then just changed the extension back to csv.
i was always wondering why i had an xls file in my source code, which was just left there from the previous reencoding, i guess

FK DELETE RULE problem when importing 8i SCHEMA on 10g

I´m having the following problem:
When importing a SCHEMA dump from an 8i database to a 10g one, some foreign key´s delete rule are changed from 'no action' to 'set null' automatically, even though the whole SCHEMA was imported.
Has anyone ever had the same problem?

BrunoI did some more research and I think I was completely misunderstanding Oracle's implementation of delete rules. Now I believe that Oracle implements the "RESTRICT" option in SQL Developer Data Modeler as "No Action", which is the default option, hence why no DDL option is generated. However, it would still be nice if Data Modeler could detect this fact when comparing two models. What I mean it, if comparing an Oracle DB to a model, treat Restrict and No Action as the same, and thus don't attempt to re-generate the DDL for this "difference". For now, I'll just change the action on my models to No Action, and this should resolve the issue.

File data source not found with guest login???
Hello everybody,
i'm working with BIP 10.1.3.2.1 on Win2003/Tomcat.
Everytime if i call a report with a file data source directly via url or in the gui via guest login i get the following error message: "File data source not found: <file data source name>".
If i use a login in the gui which have the explizit permision to use this data source then there is no problem. Well at this point u might say then use this account, but - if i call a similar report with a database data source directly via url or guest login in the gui everything works fine. So, where is the point? Any ideas?

I'm running into exactly the same issue. The problem seems to occur only when the report being accessed by guest is a file data source. The only other option I could think of is setting up SSO for BIP and the application issuing the URL to the report.
Could'nt find anything else in the documentation or known issues list that might fix this without having to setup Single Sign On. Any further luck with your investigation? I'd appreciate any feedback.

Check the file name for capitalization or other typing errors.
Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.
Do you have any idea how to get rid of this annoying pop-up? I searched for that file name on Google, but nothing came up.
This only started happening after the Scareware program, Open Cloud Security, infected my computer a few days ago. My wife got into my registry to remove Open Cloud, but now I am left with this annoying Firefox problem. I have to close the annoying window TWICE to get back to Drudge.
This happens 6 times per hour.

Problem while reading data from Serial Port

I am facing some problem while reading data from Serial Port.
As per the requirement I am writing the data on Serial Port and waiting for response of that data.
Notification for data availabilty is checked with method public void serialEvent(SerialPortEvent event) of javax.comm.SerialPortEventListener.
When we are writing data on the port one thread i.e. "main" thread is generated and when data availability event occures another thread "Win32SerialPort Notification thread" is generated. This creates problem for me as we can't control thread processing.
So can anybody pls explain me how to overcome this problem?

I am simoultaneouly wrting data on port & reading data from port.
First I write data on port using outputStream.write() method. Now when target side sends me response back for the request on serial port DATA_AVAILABLE of SerialPortEventListner event occured,we are reading data from serial port.Now till the time we didn't get the response from target next command can't be written on the serial port. When we are writing data on port main thread is executed.Now my problem starts when DATA_AVAILABLE event occured.At this point another thread is created.Due to this my program writes data of next command without reading response of previous command.To solve this prob. I have used wait() & notify() methods as follows.But again due to this my pc hangs after execution of 2 commands. (PC hang in while loop in a code provided below.)
From SOPs I could figure it out that after 2 commands we are not able to write data on serial port so DATA_AVAILABLE event doesn't occure n pro. goes in wait state.
Can anybody help me to solve this issue.
