Problems viewing videos online!

Hi Guys,
this is just a quick one - my whole system is great and I have no issues with any other aspect other than my machine ability to load and play videos on youtube or any other online broadcasting site!
The video simply won't load - I know that the problem is going to be a very simple fix (or at least I imagine it to be) but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I'm using all of the up to date flash players and still nothing - the really annoying thing is that some Youtube videos will load and I'll happily be able to watch them and then others just won't even budge from buffering - any out there have any ides? The videos on You tube work fine on my Mac Book Pro (Using the same internet connection)
Any ideas or suggestions wlecome,
All the best, Lillyman

Have you tried using different DNS servers.  Not sure it would affect anything but there's OpenDNS's servers (208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220) and google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4).
Also since this is flash, take look at the following and perhpas "play around" with the settings you find there:
Website Storage Settings panel
Also when things slow down look at your Activity Monitor (in Utilities) to see if anything obvious is hogging the machine.  USe the System Memory tab to see you memory behavior as well.
Using Activity Monitor to read System Memory and determine how much RAM is being used

  • Problem Watching Videos Online

About two or three days ago, I started having trouble viewing videos online from Youtube and others.  It seems not to matter which website I try, but the video will start and stop every 10 seconds or so, buffer some more, and then start playing again, stop again etc.  I tried using different browsers and it had no effect.  The browsers are not causing the problem.  It's obviously not the individual websites either.  So I suspect it's something in OS X, but I don't know what.  The first browser I had the problem in was Chrome, and I tried clearing the cache----no effect.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

Well I think I found the problem.  iIhave a wireless router, and I had lost the connection.  I just noticed my Menu bar wireless icon was almost greyed out completely.  Two or three days ago I had restarted the computer, and I believe that had something to do with it.  The videos seem to play just fine now.  I was still getting internet though, because it seems I was picking up the signal from one of my neighbor's routers in the same building I live in that's not password protected.  Just a much weaker signal, and that is what was causing the erratic video viewing.
Thanks for your time anyway if you read this.

That means you do not have the proper plugin installed. You need the Flash plugin.

Try posting in the QuickTime for Mac forum. You'll be more likely to get help there than you will here in the QuickTime for Windows forum.
    Good luck.
Forum Tip: It is generally considered inappropriate behavior to type all in uppercase letters in Internet discussions, as text that is typed all in uppercase is by convention considered to be shouting. Uppercase is also more difficult to read, so please use all uppercase sparingly and only when you really mean to shout, which we hope you won’t need to do here .

  • Any suggestions about my problems viewing videos?

I have had my computer for 4 years now and with Adobe Flash Player installed I have had no trouble viewing videos etc. However, recently I have been unable to view videos and it keeps telling me that I need to download Adobe Flash Player. Even though I thought this was already on my computer, I go ahead and download it. It tells me I have successfully downloaded it. But I still can't view videos. It KEEPS ON telling me I need to download Adobe Flash Player.  Anyone know what's going on???

  • Problem viewing videos on TV

I just purchased a new Ipod classic 6th gen. 80g and the required new AV composite cable from Apple and after making the proper connections and settings on my Ipod and TV I am still unable to view videos on my TV. (no signal at all coming through to TV) All I get is a message on the ipod screen saying "TV OUT ENABLED please connect video accessory". The cable is already connected. I have tried different TV's but get the same results. Can anyone help me with this problem.

    Hay,
Sorry got no great words of wisdom, but at least it seems APPLE maybe aware of the problem now if you have spoken to someone.
I guess we just vwait to see if they release a new update of the firm ware.
See below from previous discussion reason why. If I hear any thing will let you know. A
    (See below)
Why in the name of creation would Apple decide to cripple the iPod's video output with their newest firmware update? It is "unlocked" as of version 1.0.2, but that firmware is quite buggy. Finally, Apple "fixed" the video output "aspect ratio" correctly for widescreen displays in version 1.0.3, but for what trade off? So that 3rd party manufacturers (Griffin, Sonic Impact, Monster, iHome, Phillips, etc.) who don't have the correct 30-pin chip connector (identifier) won't be able to carry video from the iPod any longer.

  • Problem viewing video on CIVS-IPC-3520

We just purchase a few CIVS-IPC-3520, indoor HD cameras, and can not see the video on the web interface to adjust the cameras.
I first tried with a Windows 7, IE8 laptop, and it will not load the needed activeX files to view the camera.  I then tried a very old laptop with Windows XP and IE8 and it did work.  I have even upgraded the firmware to the latest (V1.4.1-97), which will not work with our current version of VSOM, 6.3.3, and it still does not allow us to view the video.
Does anyone know of any tricks to get these cameras to show video on the web interface to adjust the camers at installation?  I just dont think that I should have to use 10 year old tech to install something that is brand new.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Doug

Okay, so I had the same problem when we receivied the 3520's on campus in December.  I was able to download the program from the camera utility folder and install the program successfully when running it from the desktop.  I was then able to view video on a camera I was staging in my office.  Fast forward to Friday when I was actually installing the cameras and now I cannot view video again from the PCs that I was previously viewing video.  When bringing up the camera video feed, I get a message that says the Camera UI is not installed.  However, I can open the programs list and see that it is still installed.  Tried uninstalling it, rebooting and re-installing without success.  The install program starts gathering information and then it goes off into la la land.  Running this on Win 7 Enteprise Edition and IE 9 and IE 10.

  • Problem viewing video in Itunes

Since installing Snow Leopard I cannot view video on full screen in Itunes. When I chose the full screen option the Itunes window disappears but the video display is very small in the center of my screen,

As for playing windowed in a playlist:
I'm not sure, but that might just be what happens.
Just to check with both of you having this problem:
Are the videos HD? Do you have Closed Captioning turned on?
What is the resolution of the problem videos (or does it vary)?
Is this a problem with any other user accounts on the computer, or just yours?
Any other settings I should know about?
Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • Problem viewing videos in Safari

I used to use Chrome all the time but have read using Safari could increase my battery’s life before its next charge. When using chrome and viewing videos in YouTube and Facebook I had no problems but since I started using Safari it has been saying I am missing a plugin. I presume this is Flash player. I am reluctant to download Flash because of possible increased CPU usage and battery drain and all apple aps are designed to use HTML5, so I was wondering if there is another way of allowing videos to play within the webpage?
    Thanks
    Matt

You're correct to avoid Flash when practical.
Flash is being phased out by most sites that use it in favor of HTML5 page code. That is sites that rely heavily on video and not the millions of Flash based ads.
But if the page is coded to use Flash then without the plug-in you can't view it. Doesn't matter how much you don't want Flash to be installed. Many files will not be converted to HTML5 code.

  • Viewing Videos Online

I'm having problems watching videos, particularly television shows, online. The introductory commercial plays great. When the show starts, it will play a few seconds then pause, then play a few more seconds, then pause, and so on for the rest of the video. It's really annoying! Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?
    Thanks

The reason why hulu and nbc sometimes stutter when youtube doesn't, is that youtube is a progressive download site and hulu and nbc are streaming sites. In other words, when you watch the little red progress bar on a youtube window fill up, the video you are watching is being downloaded to your hard drive. On hulu and nbc, there is no buffer because the video isn't downloaded and cached locally. In order to stop the stuttering on hulu and nbc you should quit all other apps that are using your internet connection (IM clients, skype, mail, limewire, bittorrent, etc) on your comp. If the problem still happens, try rebooting your mac, turing off other computers on the network, and/or rebooting your router.

  • I cannot view videos online

I cannot view videos  on amazon.com in the customr review section. I have tried all the suggestions that apply to me on the web page http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/index.html  Any other suggetions? I have windows 7, and am using firefox as a browswer.

I can not find video on amazon.com in the customer review section. What I see for example is like this:

What is the link to your problem video? Is the problem only in amazon.com in the customer review section?

  • Problems viewing videos and trailers after the lastest Flash Player update

I have Windows 7 - 64 bit, I use Firefox 11 (latest version) and Chrome (latest version); however, since I have installed the latest Flash Player update, I cannot view any trailers or some videos.  Youtube works fine, but other sites dont (I just get a green screen).  Please can someone assist me?  I have tried the "Help" section for Flash Player and it hasn't been too helpful.
    Thanks in advance!
Ok, I found the problem, my hardware acceleration was set to enabled, once I disabled it, I had no problems viewing any of my sights that used Flash.

You might want to update your driver, particularly if you have an NVidia GPU.  Here's a post where we describe this process and ask for additional details so we can resolve this for others.

  • I just started having a problem viewing videos, namely youtube.  Any suggestions?  Thank You.  Scott

I just started having problems viewing youtube videos.  Other videos on other sites appear to be working.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank You.

A friend recommended this and surprisingly I could watch the videos so apparently my issue is a Flash problem.
    Try this test:
Try this, www.youtube.com/html5 and click 'Join the html5 trial' and see if you can watch videos then. If you can, it's a flash issue. If not, I have no idea.
If it's flash, I would upgrade FF to 5.0. I believe it uses built in flash, much like Chrome does.

  • Problem viewing videos I recorded with the phone

When trying to view videos I recorded with the phone, It gives me a message saying it is impossible to view this multimedia file format!
It has been recorded with the phone and it can't watch it on the phone!? It doesn't recognize its own recording format
    Help please

If the format is in 3GP you can view it with a player called VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/), or can try a video conversion program to convert it into a format your computer can read. Once such program can be found here http://www.avs4you.com/AVS-Video-Converter.aspx

  • Having problems viewing videos friends post on FB....won't even play the video

For some reason my iPad wont let me view videos that friends post on FB....I used to be able to....but it's a blank screen

Try a generic troubleshooting step. Close all of your apps in the recents tray and reboot your iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
