Slowdown which is dependant on which User is Logged In

When I log in as one user, the Macbook Pro is fine. If I log in as the second user, the spinning beach ball appears for ages.
The macbook cannot function when signed in as the second user.
Also, if I go to Activity Monitor, I cannot see Disk Usage, only Disk is visible.
I have managed to determine that there is at least 30 GB Free, so I don't think it's a Disk space issue.
Trying to Force Quit an application can take up to 30 minutes to accommplish.
I have already removed all the Login Items from the problematic user account.

  • How to audit which users have logged in to DB?

    Hello Gurus,
Is there any way to track the history of which users logged in to DB at what time etc?
Like if a DB has 4 users say user_1, user_2, user_3 and user_4. Is there way to get the details of when any of these have logged on to DB?
I suppose Oracle may be storing the history in some base tables.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to view which users have logged into Hyperion Planning

    Hi all,
I'm trying to determine the best way to view users that have logged into Hyperion Planning (who and when). Is there an option in Shared Services or can this be viewed through Planning by the administrator? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Planning has never been the best at providing that information, you can look at the statistics page in planning which is pretty poor in my opinion.
The other option is audting but once again it doesn't really audit users logging in and out.
    Cheers

  • How to get the dates a user has logged into the portal??

I need to know all the times and the dates a user has loggin to the portal? Do you know any way to do this? I was trying to use "successfullogoncount" from UME_STRING of the PCD database but it doesn't say anything about the dates. I also try to use "lastsuccessfulllogon" from the sama table but, as the name says, it just give me the last date of logon... Please help!!!

    Hi Pablo,
probably you could work with Portal activity reports.
This can generate reports on activity in the portal, either reports on how many users were logged on to the portal or reports on the most popular pages and iViews.
look out on this weblog at
https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/weblogs.sdn?blog=/pub/wlg/1242. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
From this you can know which user has logged on at which date and time.
If you are not looking for Portal activity reports try this:
You can  get this information in the Visual Administrator of the J2EE Engine.
Goto  Security Provider Service -> Runtime -> Login (Sessions).
This would return a table showing the users along with the logging in start date&time, (if logged out) log out date&time, user-Ids, etc.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Uma.

  • Which user/schema executed query in V$SQLAREA

I am looking on one row/query in view "V$SQLAREA" and want to which user/schema was used to log in to the database when that one query was executed. How i can get that schema name?
Should i look this column maybe:
    V$SQLAREA
PARSING_SCHEMA_NAME             VARCHAR2(30)      Schema name that was used to parse this child cursor( http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/dynviews_2129.htm )
I have Java software that uses different database schemas/users to make connections to my database. And i want to know for one query which schema/user was used to connect to database before running the query.
I think i need to join "V$SQLAREA" to view V$SESSION and there the column "USERNAME" tells me the connection user name for the executed query.
    V$SESSION
    USERNAME      VARCHAR2(30)      Oracle username
    ( http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/dynviews_2088.htm )Seems like i fail to join "V$SQLAREA" to view V$SESSION:
    select q.SQL_TEXT, q.sql_id, q.PARSING_SCHEMA_NAME, q.ADDRESS, q.last_active_time, s.USERNAME, s.SCHEMANAME from v$sqlarea q, v$session s
    where q.last_active_time > sysdate - 1
and q.sql_text like 'DELETE FROM casino.lgngameoperationlog WHERE sessionCode%'
    and s.sql_address=q.address
    order by last_active_time desc
    no rows found
    select q.SQL_TEXT, q.sql_id, q.PARSING_SCHEMA_NAME, q.ADDRESS, q.last_active_time from v$sqlarea q
    where q.last_active_time > sysdate - 1
and q.sql_text like 'DELETE FROM casino.lgngameoperationlog WHERE sessionCode%'
    order by last_active_time desc
    'DELETE FROM casino.lgngameoperationlog WHERE sessionCode = :1 and sessionType = :2';     51thfgbubkkg6;     JAVA;     0000000392523658;     28.10.2010 18:09:14;
    */

I have Java software that uses different database schemas/users to make connections to my database. And i want to know for one query which schema/user was used to connect to database before running the query. If the SQL-text sits inside your Java code, that is the text does not sit inside some stored pl/sql program unit, then you can use parsing_schema_id, yes.
If the SQL-text sits inside a stored procedure, then depending on how that procedure is defined (invoker rights or definer rights), you could use parsing_schema_id too (in the first case (invoker rights)).

  • How Know  which user use the maximum CPU time

    Hi Gurus,
I am looking now a days on our production server CPU utilization usage mostly 90-100%.
How I found which user usages maximum CPU utilization.
I know the which application takes the max Util but how User not identified. (ST06-Top CPU Users)
    Pls help.
    Thanks
    Tapo Vardhan singh

If your production system CPU usage is 100% then you are very likely to face performance problems or in fact you must be facing them now.
SAP recommended CPU usage is about 40% (ofcourse depends on many other factors) but 100% CPU utilization is not a convincing figure.
Get hold of your earlywatch reports and implement suggestions as soon as possible. Possibly you would want to hardware upgrade/move your production system after doing sizing exercise.
    Good luck.

  • Which user data or customization is associated with Sharepoint Server Publishing feature

    Hi
I want to deactivate/activate sharepoint server publishing feature but there's a warning message which says:
Any user data or customizations associated with this feature might be lost
How could I know specifically which user data will be lost after deactivating this feature?
Please note that this is "Sharepoint Server Publishing" and not "Sharepoint Server Publishing Infrastructure".  The feature I want to deactivate is a site level feature and not a site collection level feature.
    Any clues may be helpfull

If you deactivate the Publishing Infrastructure at the site collection then any items in your Pages lists may not survive.
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/87031/what-user-data-or-customizations-will-i-lose-if-i-deactivate-and-reactivate-a-si
Generally speaking you need to check dependencies of other Features to this Feature, but also to ensure that existing functionality do not depend on any artifacts this feature could deploy (Web parts, physical files, controls, etc.).
To check if other features depend on this one you could do this by looking up the GUID of the feature in a physical folder and everywhere it appears check the FeatureDependencies element.
To identify what this feature does you would look into the Feature.xml and Elements.xml to see what artifacts it deploys, e.g. stuff deployed via Modules must be removed manually, any custom controls, web-parts, which might depend on the actual assembly
deployed by the feature will also crash.
Also, to my knowledge the SSRS site collection feature is part of the actual Enterprise features which are usually pushed-down from Central Admin when using the "Activate/Deactivate Enterprise Features on existing sites" - any farm admin would be able to
    re-activate it again.

  • Is it possible to get the URL from which user came to Apex Application?

    Hi,
I have 1 web site which is created by Apex. And I have to create similar sites with slight differences. For example, even though the contents are almost same, each telephone # have to be modified.
So, if possible, I want to use only 1 web site and depending on the URL from which user came, change some information on the page. Is it possible?
And if it is possible, what if the user set Apex URL as favorite and visit it after some days?

    Thank you Scott,
    This is the one.
    But I have another issue.
If a user comes to our page from their link directly, I can identify where he come from. But if he added our site to Bookmark and comes to our site through the link, is it possible to identify his original route?
If it is impossible, I will create other Apex Application and put each URL to the link in order to catch where the user is from.

  • WF which user started Backgroud task

I'd like to know if there's a way of determinig which user initiated my WF BACKGROUND TASK.

    Hi Josie,
Depends where the background task in the workflow is.
If the background task  is the very first step in the workflow, you could say it is the workflow initiator (the user triggering the event).
If the background task follows a dialog/decision step, then it would be the agent who completed the step. You can bind the WiActual_Agent element from the task container to a WF container element.
If the background task follows a synchronous dialog step and if the "Advance with dialog" checkbox is selected on the Control tab of the corresponding workflow step, the background task is actually executed with dialog user's id and not WF-BATCH.

  • How to find out which user has the permission to execute startsap ?

    Hi All
How do I find out which user has the permission to execute the startsap and stopsap? Do I control the permission on those script using windows standard authorization? For example: only allow certain user have the read and write permission?
    Thank you.!
    Vincent Lo

Well to me this is really weird question..
<b>noone un-authorized should have access to OS on your system</b>
If this is valid you do not need to solve problems who can and who cannot start/stop SAP, because if you want to prevent some users from shutting down the SAP you have really hard job to do - there are many ways how to kill the SAP (for example killing relevant process from task manager, killing of database, messing with services etc.) - yes, this is harmful way of stopping SAP, but we are talking about attack, right? I would contact some Windows specialist to help you disable all the ways how to harm the running SAP. But still after that - there are many files that can be modified/deleted so SAP will crash after restart - you need to protect them too, etc.
In case you take the first assumption as granted (and you really limit access to this server) you do not need to worry who can stop or start SAP - at the other hand it may be handy to be able to start/stop SAP from other users - for this you can run the stop/start script "under different user".
But to answer the question - to me this is question just of access control (but really never tried that myself):
<a href="http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/c6413717-511e-42bd-bd81-82431afe4b2a1033.mspx">Permit or restrict access to a snap-in for a domain</a> (or see other related links down there on this page)

  • Restrict Which Users Can Enter Data In List Form in SharePoint Foundation 2013

Is there a way to restrict which users can enter data in particular fields in a list item entry form?
We are using a SharePoint Foundation 2013 list and calendar to manage vacation time. We need to restrict non-supervisor users users from entering a value in a certain field in the vacation request form.
Here is how the system works now:
    1. Employees complete the vacation request form (which creates a list item)
    2. An email is sent to their supervisor to either approve or decline the request
    3. Approved requests are automatically entered onto the vacation calendar
We have restricted the list so that only supervisors can edit items (the pending vacation requests). The problem is that all users can mark their own requests as approved when they fill out the request form in the first place. Is there a way to restrict
which users can enter data in particular fields on a list item entry form?

Thanks for the suggestion. We ended up 1) hiding the approval column and 2) creating a second list, workflow, etc. The user no longer sees the approval column when filling out the form. Requests are now submitted to list A. Workflow #1 copies the request
to List B, then deletes the item from List A. Once the request is added to List B, Workflow #2 emails the user that the request has been received and emails the supervisor that a request needs to be approved. Only supervisors have editing permissions on List
    B. Approved requests are automatically added to the vacation calendar (the calendar view of List B).
We found the following site to be helpful in learning how to hide the list column:
