Stapling Setting Is Ignored

Hello Everyone,
I have tried to get stapling work in a j2ee app that we use with no avail. The environment is Linux (Oracle Unbreakable Linux - 5.3) with java 1.6.14. The printers are defined in CUPs and I've verified that I can staple with them via normal linux/non-java programs.
To isolate my application vs the local environment, I used an existing Print utility program written by David Flanagan from the Java Examples in a Nutshell book. I've placed a modified version of the code at [http://gist.github.com/504509|http://gist.github.com/504509] and when I execute the PrintServiceLookup to find all printers that support stapling, it shows the printers I expect. However, when I execute print on the DocJob so that it actually prints, the documents are not stapled. Also, the job submitted to CUPs does not indicate stapling, even though it's in the PrintRequestAttributeSet. Has anyone had this problem before? My input to the example program is
java Print –I testfile.txt –p 4_xerox7655 –staple –copies 1. I couldn't post the code here due to the character limit.
Regards,
James

Hi,
Have you tried it with the latest weekly build? You can find it at javaserverfaces.dev.java.net .
I think you are regarding to issue 8 which has been solved.

  • IMessage: "Start New Conversations From" setting is ignored

    In my iMessage settings, I have the option set to start new conversations from my email address instead of my phone number. I don't want anyone having my phone number, so this is a VITAL feature for me.
    The problem is that the setting is IGNORED! New conversations are in fact coming from my phone number. I have tried changing the setting back and forth, even wiped my phone and started from scratch, and still, new conversations come from my phone number instead of my email address.
    How can I get iMessage to acknowledge the setting and start new conversations from my email address?
    Thanks!

    This worked for me.  Turn off iMessage in Settings---> Messages. Then turn off iPhone. Restart iPhone then turn iMessage back on.   The phone number should reappear.

  • Volume setting sometimes ignored

    I've notices (macbook) that the volume setting in OS X is sometimes ignored by applications (like quicktime, idvd etc). It just goes on max. volume, although i told os x my volume has to be 50% for example.
    After clicking in the menu bar (where it still tells me 50%) the setting is pushed to the value i specified earlier after clicking on the volume bar.
    What is causing this?

    I have turned my thrive off several times and the sound never came on then this morning its on. Go figure.

    You are still using acpid.  That is triggering the suspend, not logind.
    Edit: Also use [ code ] [ /code ] tags (without the spaces) for things like your logs.  Hit the "quote" button if you are more of a visual learner.
    This is how you use code tags.

  • Setting defaultPanel Ignores panelHeight=false on load

    var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("Accordion1",{useFixedPanelHeights:false,defaultPanel:1});
    So when this page loads the default panel 1 is open correctly but does not have a fixed height. When I go ahead and click on another panel in the accordion, they all resize properly and the panel heights are not fixed.
    Now if I use something like Accordion1.openFirstPanel() the first resizes correctly. If I just use the script above and set the defaultPanel to 0 it does not work properly. I can get away with this on the opening panel using an onLoad but if I need to load a page in which it needs to default to the second panel I cannot get it to default with the correct size.
    http://faculty.medicine.iu.edu/modules/intro/I.html  Heading into this page I run the openFirstPanel which allows the first panel to resize correctly. It would not work if I used the script above set to 0
    http://faculty.medicine.iu.edu/modules/intro/II.html Clicking on this link should simply allow the 2nd panel to open and be auto sized. It doesnt. BUT, if you click on any other panel, the accordion acts fine. Why doesnt it like it on load? Is there a script I can run that woudl work like the openFirstPanel but open the second? I cant do the openNext because I don't know where they might be.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jon,
    Please update to Spry 1.6 as per the suggestion at the top of the discussions page.
    Announcement: New to Spry, or  the Spry forums?
    Hide Details
    Before you post a topic please verify that:
    You are using the latest Spry files
    The latest version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry 1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.
    Hopefully this will help.

  • FPS Setting Is Ignored in QT Export

    Greetings. When I export a project to QuickTime, the FPS of the output file is always 29.97, no matter what FPS I set.
    Have tested exports in H.264, MPEG-4 Video, and Sorensen Video 3. Have tried choosing a preset FPS (15) and entering a custom one. Result is always 29.97 FPS.
    Using iMovie 7.1.1 (529) and OS 10.5.1. Problem was the same before and after applying iLife Support 8.2 update.
    Is anyone else seeing this?

    Hi Robert
    Hmmm, I just tested by creating a Master Page with no CSS assigned. I then associated it with all my topics and the CSS was left alone.
    Your call on whether you wish to pursue or not. But it's pretty straightforward to associate a single Master Page with all your topics. You just select them all in the Topic List pod, right-click and look at properties, then from the General tab you choose the desired Master Page.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Tray Menue - Visibility Setting is ignored

    Hi @ all,
    i want to hide a tray menu. It contains a visibility property which can be set by a checkbox or bind to boolean context attribute (afaik it's not wdui_visibility..it's wdy_boolean). Unfortunately the menu appears in euch case of setting..even if visibility flag is manually unchecked in its properties.
    Its possible to hide the menuitems, but impossible to hide the root icon. ?!?!
    Any idea? Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
    If you want to make it visible or invisible
    1.Create an attribute of type WDY_BOOLEAN
    2.Bind it to the visibilty Property of the tray.
    3.Based on your condition make it invisible(ABAP_FALSE) or visible(ABAP_TRUE)

  • Profile Manager 3.1.2 home sync setting being ignored on client

    Hey,
    We currently have all of our Mac clients successfully home syncing with Server 2.2.2 and WGM but we would like to upgrade to the latest version and finally move over to Profile Manager.
    I am currently trying to test Server 3.1.2 on a closed network with a couple of test clients.
    Everything seems to be working as expected and all deployment settings are being correctly set on each client.
    However the one thing that refuses to work on the client is the Home Sync settings that have been deployed.
    I have Home Sync set to sync at logout and manually only.
    On the client i can clearly see that the variable "syncBackgroundSetAtLogout" is set to "sync" within the com.apple.homeSync.plist file. However when I logout on either client I get no sync happening at all.
    Manually syncing works fine but I need this logout sync setting to work as I do not wish to have to go to each client on our network and manually set the settings from the "mobile settings" pane in preferences.
    Has anyone else come across this with 3.1.2 and maybe overcome it?
    Thanks, Justin

    Figured it out. I think it's just my interpretation of the sync settings that was the problem. For some reason you have to manage settings that you don't want managed and specify not to manage them. (?!)

  • Firewall setting being ignored?

    I've searched for this and not found anything about it, and hope this isn't a misunderstanding of how the firewall settings work, but I've been having an issue with the firewall since I installed Leopard. This was a fresh install, not an upgrade.
    Basically, I have the firewall turned on, with the option to "Set access for specific services and applications" allowing apps such as iPhoto, Adium etc to allow incoming connections.
    But despite that, when I start these applications, I always get a prompt saying "Do you want the application .... to accept incoming network connections?"
    I had this from time to time with Tiger when an application was updated, and usually removing and re-adding it to the list sorted that. But I've tried that here, doesn't work.
    Does anyone know why this is happening? It's irritating, but not the end of the world.

    Hi,
    I too have been experiencing this, and I've come across a few threads here on it.
    For me it only happens with non-Apple applications. see this post - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5956798&#5956798 and this - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5829874&#5829874

  • Cannot set locale (ignored from /etc/locale.conf)

    I just installed Arch on my new machine and I wrote:
    ==> /etc/locale.conf
    LANG=es_CL.utf-8
    # LANG=es_CL.UTF-8 (I've tried with both).
    after uncommenting it on /etc/locale.gen and running # locale-gen
    (I basically followed every step in the wiki).
    No matter what I do when I start any terminal, I found the locale commands output:
    $ ~ locale
    LANG=
    LC_CTYPE="POSIX
    LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
    LC_TIME="POSIX"
    LC_COLLATE="POSIX"
    LC_MONETARY="POSIX"
    LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"
    LC_PAPER="POSIX"
    LC_NAME="POSIX"
    LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
    LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
    LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
    LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
    LC_ALL=
    I found that if I open a tty, the /etc/profile.d/locale.sh is ran so, the locales are correct and locale shows the correct output.
    The weirdest thing is that my old machine doesn't load locale.sh, and still the locale it's right.
    I've search a lot through the wiki and bbs and even when there are couple of articles, none of them help me to solve this issue :(.
    I'm running my session through systemd --user (in case it means anything).
    EDIT: Add more info.
    EDIT2: Fix typo

    Could you check whether es_CL.UTF-8 is actually listed as an available locale?
    localectl list-locales
    And if so, whether it's correctly set
    localectl status
    $ localectl list-locales
    en_US.utf8
    es_CL.utf8
    $ localectl status
    System Locale: LANG=es_CL.UTF-8
    LC_COLLATE=C
    LC_MESSAGES=C
    VC Keymap: la-latin1
    X11 Layout: n/a
    $ locale
    LANG=
    LC_CTYPE="POSIX"
    LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
    LC_TIME="POSIX"
    LC_COLLATE="POSIX"
    LC_MONETARY="POSIX"
    LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"

    LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
    LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
    LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
    LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
    LC_ALL=
    $
    Ô_o
    I have removed an empty ~/.zprofile just in case but the issue persist. Running an empty zsh shell (with zsh -f) doesn't work either.

  • File Receiver Adapter - writes empty message although ignore flag is set

    Hi,
    i have an file FTP receiver channel configured with content conversion. I also have set the "Empty-Message-Handling" flag to "Ignore", so empty messages with 0 kb are not written to the FTP server.
    My problem is now: empty file are written to FTP server although this flag is set to "Ignore".
    For example: A message with the following content arrives at my receiver adapter:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MT_ArticleMaster xmlns:ns0="http://ihle.com/tyredating/core"></ns0:MT_ArticleMaster>
    The resulting file has 0kb.
    Does anyone have an idea why empty message are not getting ignored by this setting? Although the flag is set?
    Thanks in advance,
    MS

    ideally the file adapter will expect a message with no content in it. so i suggest you use a simple java mapping to check if there is any content between the tags, if there is no content then write out an empty string to the outputstream else pass the same inputstream out

  • Pie chart legend showing digit "1" when we set "ignore blank cells"property

    All,
    We have pie chart in Xcelsius 2008 that shows the data with legend value and we have also set the ignore blank cells property to ignore the blank value from column. but once we set this property, it displays the digit "1" in the legend when there is no data.
    we are expecting that nothing should be displayed in pie chart legend when there is no data for the pie chart.
    Thanks,
    Sourabh

    hi Sourabh,
    I could replicate your scenario.
    Workaround is to create a duplicate of this chart. Go to properties of this new chart.
    Go to Appearance ->
    Uncheck
    - Legend
    - Mouse-over values
    - Data Labels
    for this chart.
    Write a logic in excel using 'IF' to verify if your data is empty.
    Use 'Dynamic Visibility' feature to display this chart only when your data is empty.
    Display your original chart if your data is not empty.
    Regards,
    Vamsee

  • WorkManager and ignore-stuck-thread setting

    In WL 10.3, using an application scoped work manager with the following .war deployment descriptors:
    web.xml:
    <resource-ref>
    <res-ref-name>wm/WorkManagerABC</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>commonj.work.WorkManager</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    <res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope>
    </resource-ref>
    weblogic.xml:
    <work-manager>
    <name>WorkManagerABC</name>
    <fair-share-request-class>
    <name>abcClass</name>
    <fair-share>1000</fair-share>
    </fair-share-request-class>
    <ignore-stuck-threads>true</ignore-stuck-threads>
    <min-threads-constraint>
    <name>MinThreadsCountTen</name>
    <count>10</count>
    </min-threads-constraint>
    <max-threads-constraint>
    <name>MaxThreadsCountTwenty</name>
    <count>20</count>
    </max-threads-constraint>
    </work-manager>
    <wl-dispatch-policy>WorkManagerABC</wl-dispatch-policy>
    ( This particular app is meant to be a socket listener using javax.nio ). This results in WL seeing "stuck threads" after the default 600 seconds. In our clusters, our clusters are configured that 3 stuck threads cause a server restart by nm.
    So I created the same objects at the domain level ( workmanager, min/max/fair-share ), with the workmanager set to ignore stuck threads.
    web.xml
    <resource-ref>
    <res-ref-name>WorkManagerABC</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>commonj.work.WorkManager</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    <res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope>
    </resource-ref>
    weblogic.xml
    <weblogic-version>10.3</weblogic-version>
    <!-- no work manager defined -->
    <wl-dispatch-policy>WorkManagerEni</wl-dispatch-policy>
    The app deploys and simple web pages are processed within the WorkManagerABC wm. Although WL still marks 4 threads as hoggers, none of them are stuck. So no restart, and the server Health stays OK.
    So a workManager at the server level obeys the "Ignore Stuck Threads" while an application scoped workmanager does not.

    I wasn't too disappointed that the application-scoped workmanager didn't obey the stuck threads; I'd rather have the work manager configurable at the server console level without having to involve customized deployment plans to override hard-coded thread restraint levels in the app's deployment descriptors.
    I think having it defined within the server console will make it simpler to manage the different performances in production versus qa, etc., than having it defined within the app and then adjusting it in each environment.

  • Adobe Reader ignores mouse scroll speed setting

    Whenever I load a .PDF file, the mouse scroll wheel setting is ignored and the document scrols 1 line at a time. This is very annoying when trying to read a document, especially is it is a long one.
    Is there a way to set the scroll speed in the Reader so that it matches the Windows scroll speed setting?

    tasty_minerals wrote:
    Can anybody tell me how to set a mouse scroll speed in "chromium" for example? I found an application called "imwheel", and edited ~/.imwheelrc adding
    "^chromium$”
    None, Up, Button4, 5
    None, Down, Button5, 5
    but still get an error:
    INFO: imwheel started (pid=897)
    expected 3 args, got 1, in config.
    “^chromium$”
    How to make it properly, anyone?
    fixed it, just needed to remove "$" sign in “^chromium$” > “^chromium”.
    One thing is if imwheel working, you cant increase fonts in chromium with "ctrl + wheel" unfortunately.
