Status inside the adobe form in HCM Forms and Process

Hi,
We have developed a custom HCM Process with 2 level approval. Is there a way to get the status of the previous step onto the form. I mean the 2nd approver should be able to see whether the form is approved or rejected by 1st approver.
We are trying to add this in new comments so that it will reflect in previous comments when the form is sent to 2nd approver. But unable to find the correct place to add the logic.
If anyone worked on this solution, please suggest.

Hi Swamy,
You can get this from the table T5ASRSTEPS and field is PROC_STATUS. This table T5ASRSTEPS is linked to T5ASRPROCESSES and you need to use the PROCESS REFERENCE NUMBER for this.
You can bind this information to a FIELD in the ADOBE FORM and based on the FORM SCENARIO STAGE you can make this field visible / hidden.

The forms design tool for developing the form layout could not be started; either it is not installed or there are errors in the installation.
Procedure
Make sure that you have the forms design tool installed on your desktop (the tool is part of the SAPGUI installation).

How to write a application using WDJ with the adobe form ?

Hi, experts,
I don't know how to write a application using !!webdynpro for java!! with the adobe form so that I can fill data to the adobe form and get data from the adobe form.
Note: I have configed the ADS(adobe document services),and I can create a application with a interactiveform in webdynpro for abap and run it successfully, so that I can fill data to the adobe form and get data from the adobe form.
Do you give me some hint?

The Adobe Forms was created with Disable Fields!

Hi All,
I am new in Adode Interactive Forms ABAP. I am trying to implement a simple scenario using Web Services published by RFC on ABAP side and simple form with one field MATNR to bring a Description MARKT, and button to call the Web Services. I configured ADS on Server, installed Adobe LifeCycle 8 and SAP GUI 7.1. I created the Adobe Form and it was actived.
My issue is, when a run the program to generate a PDF, using the FMu2019s 'FP_JOB_OPEN'
, 'FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME', CALL FUNCTION i_funcname, the Adobe Forms was created with disables fields. I canu2019t fill it and canu2019t press the button to call WS on ECC.
Could you help me?

When you say the example ran successfully is it without any error messages..?
Did you check in spool "SP01" if there something sitting out there.
To my understanding PDF rendring is dependent in 2 aspects.
1) the output device type you select (this should be a PDF enabled printer)
2) Programatically if you say it should go to a printer or spool.
Just try with FP_TEST_00 either in sfp or SE38 and try both print preview and print.
in print priview it should display the PDF on the screen.
In print it should display as success message and in spool it should have the corresponding PDF. if both are working fine then the ADS and output device config are correct and it all depends on how do you handle the PDF output.
Just try the above approach and post the results,

How to bring status icons in the Adobe Form.

Hi Experts,
I am new to Adobe forms and I need to bring a icon indicating the satus ( For example green icon shoud be displayed if the values exceed our expection ) . Currently if I try to bring an icon in the form it is just displaying the text value corresponding to the icon even though the icon is of data type ICONTEXT (For Example:Instead of displaying a icon in green it just displaying the corresponding text values like '@@4' ) . When we try to display the same icon in the table view it is displayed in a form of image.
Kindly let me know how to bring status icon in the adobe forms.

Hi,
The ADS will not understand this as an icon and create it on the PDF. If you want to insert an icon in the
PDF you should insert it as an image in the Designer.

Error :-The requested resource does not exist while opening the adobe form

hello Experts,
We are in Portal implementation face with ECC6 EHP4 and Portal EHP1
We have developed adobe form using HCM forms and processes and done the required configuration in SPRO
When we are trying to open the form from ESS we are getting below error
404 not found
The requested resource does not exist.
Please look into this issue and let us know any thing we are missing

Access the adobe form data in the workflow container for further processin

HI,
I am using HCM processes and Forms. I need to access the form data in the workflow container once the workflow kicks off.
I need to access these data as would need it for further processing in the workflow.
I know that TS17900110 allows to import form conatiner to
-> WF Container in the field name and value pair. But I need to access a lot more fields than what is in the task. Is there a standard task which allow to retrieve all the fields in the form in one task or do I need to develope a custom class to do that. If so could you please provide some clue as in how to code this specific requirement as i am somewhat new to OO ABAP.

hi,
in the livecycle designer under libary tab u have webdynpro tab--->choose submit to sap button and place it in the adobe form ur designing. u can use this button to trigger the code that u have written in webdynpro java.
for eg if u have
a value node details
and under that two value attr fname,lname
import the model (Insertdata---it has two import param fname and lname)u need for updating the data to r3 system.
in the ctrller have a method submit.Here write the code to insert fname and lname into the db.

I am working on HCM forms and processes( not QISRs ). I want to populate a drop down list based on the selection of another dropdown list, how can we acheive this in Adobe forms. Should I go about configuring some back end generic service? if so how will the backend service get triggered based on my selection.. Any idea on this is highly appreciated

To archive above functionality we can use below simple method, if u r expectig same functionality through operations and custom event give me some time i need to recall some functioality(At present i am unable to acces MY SAP)
Let my BADI name is   Z_Positions .
Letu2019s define two attributes in my BADI like E_DATE and DD1.
For to understand better create one methods as same as input and out parameters of Get_Help_Values method.
So my methods is F4_Vac_Pos
Method:- F4_Vac_Pos
            Read the entered value of the Effective date (by reading service datasets with passing key as filename =E_Date)
Once if we able to read the Effective date, cheek is initialize are not(value is there or not).
     If it is not initialize go ahead else return.
     If it is not initialize fill all vacant positions in DD1 based on by passing key as readied
                   Effective date.
Call this methods in get_help_values method.
From Configuration side:-
Created Effective_date and F4_DD1attributes.
Add your custom generic service to form (let assume service no is 200 ).
Go to the assignment of custom generic service; map the F4_DD1 form attributes to the BADI attribute DD1 and cheek default value and value help.
The same way map form Effective_date attribute to BADI E_date (donu2019t select value help option)
Now adobe java script:-
Write the below piece of code on click method of button

Data Flow:-
Once the date is selected, click on the Button. As we know already for every round trip get_help_values method will call. Now it will call.
As already effective date value is mapped to one of the custom badi attribute, so we are able to read this value through service data set.
While filling DD1 values we are filtering data based on effective date. Now at badi level we are filtered vacant position based on effective date.
As this one is mapped to F4_DD1 form attribute, once round trip is completed u will see filtered vacant position based on effective date.

HCM Forms and processes - Effort estimation of the requirements !

Hi Experts on HCM F&P,
I have following queries on HCM forms and processes.
1.
I understand that HCM F&P is both functional and technical ( majority of the work being technical here). But where do we draw a line as to what part of work is a functional activity and what is technical activity. For technical I do understand the form desig, workflow development is all technical. But however i am not able to understand what is the part of work on HCM F&P is to be classified as functional.
2.
When we get new customer projects how do we go ahead estimating the timelines for Functional consultant and Technical consultant. Fairly clear for technical that the timelines for designing the form with all needed logic in custom generic service and for the workflow development. But unable to really understand that activity that needs to be classified as purely functional activity and the timelines needed for this role.
I am very much interested to understand estimation on the functional side. Estimatation if there are standard processes to be enabled and implemented. And also if there are customer specific new processes needed. Estimation for the Blueprinting and Realizaiton needs to be understood for this.
I am looking at the parameters that needs to be considered here for estimating.
It would be greatfull if someone can give hints on this.
Note:Points would be given considering each as a separate question.

In HCM Process and Forms,
1. First you need to clear with the process that you are going to carry out.
2. Understand the process and indentify the infotypes, fields that need to be updated.
3. Also the infotype operation deletion, modification, Insertion, etc.
Above steps are get invoved with functional consultant
4. Create a process, add a fields.
5. create generic service if necessary.
6. Create a adobe form.
Above three steps are get invoved with functional consultant.
7. Workflow process to be defined from functional(first level approver, second level approver)
8. With the help workflow consultant, technical consultant will attahc the workflow to the process.
Blue print, Estimate depends on the Process(Simple updation or it get involved with more processes).

How to use the separate symbol in the text field in the adobe form.

Hi,experts,
I dont know how to use the separate symbol to make a paragraph separate into several lines correctly in the text field in the adobe form.
Action:
1. config the ADS successfully.
2. create the adobe form with a mult-line textfield(binding the 'remark' context in the interface of the form) using sfp.
3. create a WDA for invoke the form and transfer the 'remark' context data.
I use the following codes to display the paragraph in the PDF document:
CONCATENATE
'1、aaaaaaaaaaa；'
'2、bbbbbbbbb '
'3、ccccccccccc'
'4、ddddddddd'
INTO remark .
lo_nd_z_hr_php_payslip->set_attribute(
EXPORTING
name = `REMARK`
value = remark ).
But I found all the content aren't paragraph separate correctly in the text field in the adobe form when I run the WDA.
Could you please give me some hints to make the paragraph separate correctly in PDF document? Thanks a lot in advance!

If it is just a one word value then you could use this in the exist event;
this.rawValue
= util.printx(">?<*",this.rawValue);
This changes the first character (represented by the ?) to uppercase (represented by the >) and all trailing characters (represented by the *) to lowercase (represented by the <).
If you wanted something more general ... if they could also enter a middle name then you could call a function like;
function toTitleCase(textValue)
return textValue.toLowerCase().replace(/\b[a-z]/g, function replacer(match) { return match.toUpperCase(); });
This uses a regex to change all lowercase letters following a word boundary to uppercase.

Calling the Adobe form in a workflow step for Approval

Hi All,
We are creating a PCR scenario using Adobe forms for "Employee seperation". This form will require 7 subsequent approvals from various agents which is to be handled using a workflow.
I had gone through the ISR cookbook and managed to create a scenario. I have also assigned it to a PDF form and a dummy workflow. Now from my PCR iview i am able to submit the form for my scenario which also triggers the dummy workflow(through the BUS7051-CREATED event).
Right now this dummy workflow just sends a mail(by sendmail step) to the first approver. Now i want this workflow to send a workitem to the first approver for approval of this form which will have to appear in his UWL. When the approver double clicks on the workitem in UWL he should be able to view the form along with Approve/Reject/Cancel buttons. I am not aware how to do this. My questions are,
Is this handled by a decision step or an activity?
If it is an activity step which Task/Business object method is used to handle this?
If it is a decision step how do we make the Adobe form also to be displayed along with approve/Reject buttons?
We are using ECC5.0 and EP6.0.

The UWL issue has been resolved now and i am receiving the workitems in my UWL. But i am getting the following error when i am trying to execute the workitem from my UWL.
Service cannot be reached
What has happened?

Place the Adobe Form as PDF file in a URL

Hi Experts,
I have created an Adobe form and got the PDF data in the form of XSTRING now I need to place this as PDF file in the URL which I have generated programmatically. Not sure on how to do it. Any function modules or classes to place this as PDF file at a URL will be really helpful for me.
Tried with HTTP* function modules and seems they are not working.

My requirement is not exactly the string with XML data, but the string with PDF data.
I will try to explain my requirement here in detail.
I have the adobe form triggering from the webdynpro. This form has different objects like, text fields, dropdowns, check boxes, radio buttons...etc and one SUBMIT button for which webservice is attached in the properties.
User will fill all the fields and clicks on SUBMIT. When he clicks on the SUBMIT, the webservice should attach the filled PDF document at partner level.
For this purpose, i need the string with PDF data and not the XML.
WIth this PDF string again i should be able to re generate the PDF document which was filled by the user.
If string with PDF data is not possible, Please suggest me the possible way of achieving this?
