Streamed Speex audio in SWF

Hi,
Adobe's "SWF File Format Specification v10" says that Speex encoded data can be used for streaming sound (a little clarification of the "streaming sound" definition here: "The SWF file format supports a streaming sound mode where sound data is played and downloaded in tight synchronization with the timeline. In this mode, sound packets are stored with each frame." - this has nothing to do with any FMS streaming, no ActionScript needed - just plain SWF).
This should be accomplished by using a single SoundStreamHead2 tag with StreamSoundCompression set to 11 (which means "Speex", as stated in the abovementioned Specification) and then N pairs of ShowFrame and SoundStreamBlock tags. However, this does not work - Flash Player plays no sound when playing the SWF generated by me this way. Please note, that I am capable of generating such SWFs containing streamed MP3 or PCM data, which then play perfectly. Just not Speex...
I strictly conform to the Specification:
"Starting with SWF 10, a SWF file can store audio samples that have been compressed using
the free, open source Speex voice codec (see speex.org). Speex audio is stored as format 11 in a
DefineSound tag. While Speex supports a range of sample rates, Speex audio encoded in SWF
is always encoded at 16 kHz; the SoundRate field of the DefineSound tag is disregarded. The
SoundType and SoundSize fields are also ingored in the case of Speex. Speex in SWF is always
mono and always decodes to 16-bit audio samples internally.
Speex 1.2 beta 3 is compiled into the Flash Player as of version 10 (10.0.12)."
I tried the streaming sound approach as well as the event sound - both do not work.
Moreover, I was not able to find (anywhere on the Internet) any sample SWF with streaming sound (nor event sound) encoded in Speex. Do they even exist? Anyway, Flash CS5.5 is not capable of generating them...
I would just like to know whether Speex support for SWF streaming sound can be found anywhere else than in the Specification. (I know that FLV can contain Speex and that Flash Player can stream Speex from a microphone and that FMS can stream Speex to its clients, but this is not what I am asking for)
Kind regards,
JK

  • How can I stream the audio only to my Apple TV while watching the video on my iPad?

    Hi everybody!
My question might sound a little confusing to some of you, but anyway: When I watch a video on my iPad (youtube app, facebook, etc.) I would like to watch the video on my iPad and stream the audio to my atv, which is connected to my hifi. Currently, every time I hit the airplay button both video AND audio will be streamed.
Many people complain about only streaming audio, but that's precisely what I am looking for! I don't want to turn on my TV for every silly 0:30 min youtube video. I would love to find something like this:
    Cheers for any help!

you can't rely on airplay mirror some apps support the old in app airtune audio only option if the video app in question does you can do it from the apps settings somehow
if not then you need a airport express which does pretty much what airplay mirror on the Apple TV does but it's a audio only

  • I have an Apple TV and an Airport Express, can I use these to stream all audio from either my iPhone or my MacBook Pro, including Pandora?

I have purchased an Apple TV and an Airport Express as a gift for a loved one and was under the impression that these two would not only allow for movies, videos etc would be streamed to the TV from my MacBook Pro, but also set up Airport Express with speakers and stream music from my laptop or iPhone.  Is there a way for all music, including Pandora, to be streamed through the Airport Express?  I can only figure out how it works with iTunes, not Pandora.
    Thanks for the help!!!

You might want to take a look at Airfoil for Mac to be able to stream any audio source on your Mac.

  • ITunes 11 no longer allowing to stream video audio to an Airport?

I just istalled iTunes 11 and discovered that when watching videos, I am no longer able to stream the audio to an AirportExpress connected to a DAC.  Very annoyingly, the new iTunes 11 user interface killed the AirportExpress entries from the output menu when wathing videos (it only lets you stream to an Apple TV), but when listening to music, all AirportExpress options are still available.  Why can't I select where I want to stream my video to and - separately - where I want to stream the audio to?  This is very disappointing, Apple: you've eliminated a key feature of a well-functioning Apple ecosystem at home.

I am so beyond fed up with this and with Apple.  THANK GOD I just switched to a Galaxy S3.  The whole reason I did it is because iOS 6 crossed the line, especially with the removal of the native Google apps, only to replace Maps with the biggest joke of a maps app I have ever seen in my life.  Within 5 minutes of turning on my new Android phone, literally every single feature, down to the most minor detail, was better than iPhone.  Every iPhone user that has checked out my new phone says the same thing.  I cannot find ONE thing that is better on the iPhone.  Not ONE thing.
Before activating my new awesome phone, I wanted to sync my busted old piece of junk iPhone with Google contacts so I can seamlessly transfer them to the new phone, and lo & behold, I encounter even more of Apple's BS with regard to Google.
Apple, I can promise you this... by taking this stance against Google & making things SO much harder for your users, you are driving them away from Apple in DROVES, and straight into Googles open arms.  Prepare to circle the drain.  Switching to Android is the best decision I've made all year.  I LOVE MY NEW PHONE!

  • AirPort Express as a Wireless Adapter For Xbox 360 and to stream PC audio?

Ok, so I am wondering if I can do this config with an AirPort express. I want to connect the AirPort to my existing WiFi, and be able to plug in an Ethernet cable connected to an Xbox 360 to get Xbox Live, as well as stream audio from my PC. Is this possible to do at once? Also, is it possible to stream PC audio, not just iTunes music? Thanks for your time.

    Hello podalex,
Just an FYI for you with regard to the Airport Express:
It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibility.)
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".
There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx
In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!
As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.
Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/w7itpro/ . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assitance and support.

  • Can I record a live streaming concert (audio

Is there a way to record a live streaming concert (audio & video) with Quicktime on my iMac?

Sure.  The built-in iSight camera of all Intel iMacs supports both video and audio.  The following link shows how to use Quicktime to record video and audio with your iSight:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4024
If you wish to append that video with examples on the computer, SnapZ Pro is a great tool for screen capture:

Note, SnapZ Pro is probably the easiest to record an existing webinar.  Note, when recording any webinar, you should be licensed to record the said video, or allowed to by the professor/school offering it for the use of your own instruction.

  • I want to stream all audio to my stereo via AirPort. Right now audio only streams with iTunes, not when I'm online (YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify). What must I do? Thanks! 2011 macbook pro 10.6.8

I want to stream all audio to my stereo via AirPort. Right now audio only streams with iTunes, not when I'm online (YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify). What must I do? Thanks! 2011 macbook pro 10.6.8

Thanks, Bob. I've seen this suggested before. However, I'm at a friend's place (cat-sitting). He owns an older MacBook (almost positive) and he streams audio without Airfoil. All he uses is AirPort Express. He told me to simply click alt-option and the volume icon and a menu drops down, and I select "AirPort Express". But it never appears. All the menu offers is this:
    "AirPort Express" isn't an option.
Why is that? Is there something fundamental I'm not doing?

  • Recording Streaming Video-Audio

A class I'm taking does not offer a permanent written syllabus or treatise to retain for reference, only a streaming video-audio. Is there any way to record or capture the show on either my iMac 20" Intel or MacBookPro Intel? This is strictly for my own use and reference.
I presume this would somehow go into iMovie HD, which of course I have on these machines as part of OS X 10.4.9.
Thanks for the help and suggestions.

How do you access the stream? I.e. what format is it in, and what applications can you use to watch it. Some players allow you to save (or export) the stream. Some streams are setup so that these options become disabled in the player.
Unless you want to edit the video after you captured it, iMovie will not be part of the solution.

  • How streaming an audio or video files from google drive using google api objective-c client?

I have implemented streaming an audio or video files by mpmovieplayer from Dropbox. For this purpose I am using Dropbox sdk. Audio or video files are playing with no problem from dropbox in my app.
But, I can not implement the same functionality from Google drive. I am using alternateLink, webcontentLink,EmbedLink,Exportlink that we get from google drive. But mpmovieplayer does not play audio or video. So how can get any link from google drive,by which i can streaming an audio or video file from google drive. I have listed all google drive files in a table view. I am using google api objective-c client. So please help me. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
I'm giving a try at your application and so far, it is great!
I understand that you're working on a way to help moving back files to google drive. Actually, I can copy / paste, but it always renames the files, so I end up with both a "copy of" and my original file.
could you save and overwite the original file when it already exists ? (perhaps an option in the settings) ?
    Thanks!

  • Using iTunes/Airplay for streaming live audio/video on local network?

I'm wondering if I can use iTunes to stream live audio and/or video to other computers, Airport Express, or Apple TVs on a local wifi network. I'm willing to jailbreak or hack anything if necessary.
So this is what I am hoping to do:
    Camera-->Streaming Computer-->Airplay-->Local Wi-fi network-->Devices recieving audio/video

This device should be doing UPnP by default so you will not need most of the info on this page.
What the Link does have is the default access info and pictures.
In the Wan page turn Off the DOS or SPI firewall. (it will have one or the other)
Check in the Box to Disable.
    Save Settings.
If this device is behind a Cable modem then also Allow it to Respond to Internet Pings on the same page.
(this a Check the Box to Do)
Save settings (Again if you did them above)

  • Can an iPod Touch Stream Live Audio via Wifi through airplay?

I would like to stream the audio from a PA system running in one building to another building on the same site. The distance is too far for a wireless speaker system, as well as for a strictly Airport based network. What I am wondering is if it would be possible to use an Ipod Touch to input audio from the PA and use airplay to output the audio via an Airport Express in the other building?

What I am wondering is if it would be possible to use an Ipod Touch to input audio from the PA and use airplay to output the audio via an Airport Express in the other building?
Sorry, but no. The basic issue would be how to get the PA audio "into" the iPod Touch.

  • Streaming live audio via wifi to home audio system

I would like to attach a device to my stereo that would act as a wifi audio receiver and play whatever audio my macbook is currently playing.
Does such a thing exist?  Basically it should act like a wireless version of an audio cable that I would plug into my mac's audio out and into my stereo.
I can't tell if the airport express will do this.
I own a Roku and I know I can get it set up to play certain kinds of media files over the network, but I want the freedom to be able to play live streams over the internet from any number of sources.
I would accept being able to live stream from itunes, but only if it's a true live stream and not just letting me select itunes files.  (I want it to know where I am in a long podcast, for example.)
    Thanks!

Just for completeness, airfoil + airport express indeed does exactly what I wanted:
    - I purchased an airport express, a mini stereo->phono Y splitter cable, and the airfoil application from Rogue Amoeba.
    - I configured my airport to join my existing network and plugged its audio out jack into my stereo receiver using the Y splitter cable.  At this point I could play itunes to my stereo by selecting the airport as the "speaker" using the little menu in the lower right corner of the itunes window.  (itunes found the airport express automatically)
    - I launched Airfoil and told it to stream "system audio" (as opposed to the other choice of streaming from a single application), which required a brief install and reboot of some system level software, to my airport express, which it had located automatically.
Now I can stream any audio from my mac to my stereo, not just itunes!  Rock!
The only sadness?  If the Time Capsule supported an audio out jack I would not have needed to buy the Airport Express.
In the long run maybe it would have been smarter to buy an Apple TV.
