Testing BPEL Processes with non-unique activity names

Hello,
I intend to use Oracles BPEL Test Framework for testing a set of BPEL workflows. I created a test suite for one process but during the deployment of the test suite i got the message:
[Error ORABPEL-20043]: Non-unique activity name.
In the workflow set are a lot of activties with equal names, at least 100, so renaming is not an option. Is there any possibilty to use the Test Framework nevertheless?
Thanks for your answers.

Here the answer from Oracle:
Even if there is little documentation surrounding the need to have unique activity names, this issue will be treated
as an enhancement from Development point of view.
Therefore, I was asked to create an Enhancement Request, so that this will be considered for
implementation in a future release.
It's not a bug, it's a feature...

    Thanks for your advise. I have visited your blog and tryed to undeploy my BPEL Process via <undeployBPELProcess> task. But I get: "failed to create task or type of type: undeployBPELProcess. Cause: The Name is undefined" error. So I guess I don't have a proper jar file.
    I am very short on experience with Oracle SOA Suite, so I got stuck with this issue.

  • PDF form with one submit button that prints form and sanves PDF with data with a unique file name

    We have a long medical form that patients can fill out at kiosks as they wait to see a doctor. We want one button so that the patient can print out the form with one click (and finish filling it out by hand if it's not finished already) and the same button click will save the form with a unique file name (using last name, first name, date, and/or email address so that the identity of the person who filled out the form will be readily apparent to anyone who wants to grab the user's responses later). Is Acrobat capable of doing something like this? LiveCycle Designer maybe? And if we continue with the PDF form and add a submit button, is there a way to program the button click to print and to save?
    Thank you in advance of any suggestions that might accomplish this task.

    I am not sure about the print, but it can probably be done -- possibly with a bit of JavaScript. As to the saving of the form, that is not reasonable at a kiosk. You would want the data submitted to a server (particularly with patient data), no e-mail or accessible drive. You can collect the data and put it in a database or import it to the form for printing yourself.

  • How to test BPEL Process that starts with a pick consuming a JMS message

    Hi,
    We are using App Server v 10.1.3.3.0 and attempting to test a BPEL process which starts with a pick operation which is awaiting a JMS message on a specific queue.
    We are using the Oracle JMS adapter to achieve this.
    Is there any way in which this particular configuration can be easily tested using the BPEL testing framework? I have problems when I write the first initiate XML statement in my test case (stack trace below)
    <2011-01-27 10:23:47,028> <ERROR> <ProvisioningInterface.collaxa.cube.bpeltest> test run failed!

  • Managing Internet clients with non unique names

    I've got a wee complication which revolves around the fact the majority clients I am looking to deploy to are workgroup clients which have non-unique netbios/short names.
    So when trying to manage said clients when looking at the Assets / Devices tab they for all intensive purposes appear identical - until I look at the properties of each item and look at the Resource Name - which will show the FQDN fo said machine.
    If I was able to select Resource name as a viewable field in the view this would fix my problem. Unfortunately all machines currently have the same Workgroup set so just displaying the "Domain" field will not suffice.
    Has anyone run into this issue and what can be done to work around it short of renaming all my intended clients? I've seen mention of creating your own Console custom nodes however this looks rather hairy.
    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Cheers.

    Also, I don't think that it will really help you, because the Devices
    node is build on the SMS_CombinedDeviceResources class and that WMI class simply doesn't contain the
    Resource Name property.
    In this case it would mean creating a whole new node in the console. Probably using a Query, or Report is the most simple and best workaround.

  • Can't invoke WS from BPEL process: Unable to locate activated endpoint

    I have a simple Calculator Web Service deployed on Glassfish, that I can access with any kind of SOAP client (e.g. soapUI). I have then created a BPEL process that invokes this external Web Service (which happens to run on the same Glassfish server, but that's largely irrelevant I suppose). Any help? I've seen someone post a similar problem on the forum at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5273187&messageID=10157363#10157363
    but I haven't seen any answers. Thanks!

    Check the ports of Web services and those of BPEL, as Hambo have different communication ports.
    Normally Webservices point to the port 8080 and BPEL to 18181 or 9084.
    Check and I accounts.
    Greetings.

  • Problem in invoking a BPEL process with complex input

    Hi,
    I have an asynchronous BPEL process which has a complex request schema. When I try to invoke the process through BPEL Console, it works properly. But when invoking it through Java API, it seems that the input soap message is not well received by the process. Here are relevant files:

    Please tell me if you know how to solve it. Thanks

    It sounds very much like a namespace issue.
    As it works from the BPELConsole, fill in the values in the BPELConsole initiate page and switch from the HTML to the XML view. Copy the XML to Notepad or another suitable editor; then insert it as fixed values into the Java/JSP code and try to call the server with the hardcoded payload instead of the one you are generating.
    You can also save the payload in the JSP (write it to a file or standard output) before the call; then open it in jDeveloper or Eclipse and validate it against the schema. That way you will find if the XML is invalid.
    Also, check the flow in the BPELConsole. As it fails on an XPath expression you must have a process. If you click on the receive activity you can see the received payload. Again, copy that to jDeveloper or Eclipse and validate it. Also compare it to the XML you get if you initiate the process manuallly. There must be some difference.
    If you still can't get it to work, post the XML from the initiate operation and from the JSP operation (as they are seen in the receive activity) and we can help you check them out!

  • BPEL process with one or more requests and one or more responses

    We need to create a process that will have one or more requests and one or more responses, and CheckoutFlow example is exactly what we need. Now we just have to find out how to invoke this process from the Axis client and how to invoke other operations like ‘continue’ and ‘submit’ from the same example.
    I understand that we have to set ws-addressing information into SOAP header, but I am not sure when and how to do that. Also I am not sure why we have to set correlation set when invoking ‘initatiate’, ‘continue’ and ‘submit’ as they are defined as two-way operations in CheckoutFlow.wsdl. I would expect to send correlation set only for ‘onResult’ operation.
    I have used wsdl2java to create stub classes and here is a test client code:
    public void testCheckoutFlow() throws Exception {
    com.erggroup.mass.wf.CheckoutFlowBindingStub stub = null;
    try {
         stub = (com.erggroup.mass.wf.CheckoutFlowBindingStub)
                                                           new com.erggroup.mass.wf.CheckoutFlow_ServiceLocator().getCheckoutFlowPort();
              catch (javax.xml.rpc.ServiceException jre) {
              // Time out after a minute
              stub.setTimeout(60000);
              com.erggroup.mass.wf.OrderType order = new com.erggroup.mass.wf.OrderType();
              order.setProduct("Axis product");
              com.erggroup.mass.wf.ProfileType profile = new com.erggroup.mass.wf.ProfileType();
              profile.setEmail("[email protected]");

  • How to make a simple BPEL-process with database access

    I hope somebody can help me.
    I want to make a BPEL process that get a message via MEDIATOR. That message has to update a database table.
    So far as I know : start in composite with mediator - bpel process and database adaptor.
    What have to be done in the bpel process ?
    I hope somebody can help me, Thnx, Carel

    In a nutshell -
    Create a Database Adapter in the composite.xml UI. Drag a wire from BPEL process to that db adapter you just created. Go to BPEL process (double click), use invoke activity after the initial receive activity, and drag a wire to make the connection to the partner link on the right hand side swim lane (which is your DB Adapter).
    On doing that, you will be seeing the input/output variables generated in the Invoke Activity (should be of type expected by DB adapter).
    Next - drop an assign activity between Receive and Invoke and make the transformations from the "message from the mediator" to this Input Variable (created as part of the invoke activity).
    You are good to go!

  • BPEL process with http-POST service doesn't work

    Hi OraclePM community,
    i tried to test a http-POST service. The message i wanted to send is very simple:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <GetFeature service="WFS">
    <Query typeName="states"/>
    </GetFeature>
    In the POST-service wsdl:types/xsd:schema i created this new element to ingest the request-xml:
    <xsd:element name="GetFeature">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="Query"/>
    </xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:attribute name="service" use="required" type="xsd:string"/>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    <xsd:element name="Query">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:attribute name="typeName" use="required" type="xsd:string"/>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    I made the same in the bpel-service wsdl for input-variable definition. When i deployed the bpel process and went to the automatically generated client then i had only two input-boxes. One box to type in the 'service' (which is signed as string) and another box to type in the 'Query' (which is signed as anyType). But thats a wrong interpretation of my wsdl. I should type in the 'typeName' which is also a string. Therefore i get an exception at the invoke: "Argument 'GetFeatureIn' is not compatible".
    O.K. i tried something different: In the client i din't choose the option 'html-form' but the option 'xml-source' and copied the request-xml in there. The result was another exception earlier (the first assign after the receive). The exception is: "error in evaluate <from>-expression in line "33". The result for the XPath-expression "/client:GetFeature" is empty"
    Can anybody help me?
    Kind regards
    Albrecht

    sure you send the right xml?
    what I would try is to copy the xml from the receive, paste and extend it, and see if this works . . these errors are mostly because of no namespace defined or such ..
    sure your element has the right namespace?

         targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/Attributetest"
         xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

                        <element name="input" type="string"/>
                   </sequence>
    <attribute name="service" use="required" type="string"/>
              </complexType>
         </element>
         <element name="AttributetestProcessResponse">
              <complexType>
                   <sequence>
                        <element name="result" type="string"/>
                   </sequence>
              </complexType>
         </element>
    </schema>
    it works design and runtime in 10.1.3.1
