TOC built on import using XSLT

Hello,
I am working on a FM application which modifies the XML via preprocessing XSLT.
This includes building a full TOC on the front matter which contains hyperlinks to all the top level chapter titles via unique id's @idref on the TOC/TOC-entry-1/TOC-ref element.
However, when the front matter FM is generated, the structure view does not show the idref attribute and therefore an empty TOC.
Is there a way of refreshing the .FM file somehow to reflect the new structure and show the TOC entries ?
Thanks,
Andy

Van,
As I have inherited this FM appliction, I do not want to change too much. My task was to simply change the page sizes within a particular template which I have done. The only thing I had to alter was the leader dot length, otherwise I altered nothing else.
Everything is working OK apart from this top level TOC. It's part of a book where the XSL does modify the <TOC-ref> element to populate the idref attribute with the target id.
Meanwhile, I ran the XSLT on it through Oxygen as you suggested, and the idref is certainly being populated as follows :
<TOC-entry-1><TOC-ref idref = "D-GA-000047.1" format="TOC-1"/></TOC-entry-1>
The target id is external.
As mentioned the structure view does not show these attributes. Just TOC-ref followed by <WHITESPACE>.
Apparently, according to the customer, this TOC did work before. The original app was compiled using FM8, and I have generated the new templates in FM10. I subsequently upgraded the Read/Write rules and the EDD to reflect FM10 thinking this may be the answer but still not working.
OR, perhaps it's something to do with the XSLT parser version ? Does this need specifying or does FM use a standard version.
I had to specifically set it to Saxon6.5.5 within Oxygen to get it working.
Thanks,
Andy

  • ** How to use XSLT Stylesheet Ver 2.0 functions in XI 7.0?

    Hi friends,
          There are numerous built-in functions in SALT ver 2.0. Functions like upper-case, index-of, etc. They are very useful when use XSLT Mapping. But, unfortunately we are not able to use this functions in XSLT Mapping in XI. i.e XI throws an error like 'Transformation Configuration Error Occured'.
          Friends your experience, kindly share your idea how do we to do in XSLT? Is any other alternate way there ?
    Thanking you.
    Yours friendly,
    Jeg P.

    You could of course try to import your own Java XSLT 2.0 processor in a .jar file and in the same or another .jar, you could import the .xslt files.

    Henrique.

  • ERROR WHILE USING XSLT MAPPING IN INTERFACE MAPPING

    Hi,
      We are using an xslt mapping in our scenario but while i load the XSLT mapping in the interface mapping i get a message :
    Transformer configuration exception occurred when loading XSLT
    sorce interface :outbound and asyncronous.
    mapping : XSLT mapping (imported as a zip file)
    target interface: abstract,asyncronous.
    The xslt runs well in standalone and its well formed and there is no name space issue.
    please help if any one has faced such a situation while using XSLT mapping.
    regards,
    Anirban.

    Hi Anirban
    When you say it runs well <i>standalone</i> what exactly do you mean? Which XSLT processor are you using to run it? There are subtle difference between XSTL processors that can sometimes result in incompatibilities. For instance, I have seen XSLTs run correctly in XMLSpy but incorrectly (or at least slightly differently) in XI.

  • How to update XML file using XSLT

    Hi there,
    I have a "small" issue with exporting data to an XML file using XSLT.
    A two steps process is needed to import data from a non-hierarchical XML file into ABAP, change the data, and then update the XML file with new values. The problem is not trivial, since the format of the XML file is a complex one: there are many interdependent elements on the same level, pointing to each other by using id and ref attributes. Based on these values the data can be read and written into an internal table. I use XSLT and XPath for that. So the inbound process is done and seems to work correctly. I have to mention that the file contains much more data than I need. I am working only with a small part of it.
    Now the changed data must be exported back into the XML file, meaning that the content of certain elements must be updated. How can this be done with XSLT? I can pass only the internal table to the transformation, so how do I access the XML file in order to update it? I have tried to use the <B>xsl:document()</B> function to access the content of the file store locally on my PC, but it fails each time by throwing and URI exception. I have tried the absolute path without any addition and the path with the file:/// addition. Same result. Please advise.
    Many thanks,
    Ferenc
    P.S. Please provide me with links only if they are relevant for this very matter. I will not give points for irrelevant postings...

    Now the changed data must be exported back into the XML file, meaning that the content of certain elements must be updated. How can this be done with XSLT?
    XSLT approach:  check these online tutorial
    http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/08/02/xslt/index.html
    http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/06/07/transforming/index.html
    ABAP approach:
    for example you have the xml (original) in a string called say xml_out .
    data: l_xml  type ref to cl_xml_document ,
            node type ref to if_ixml_node  .
    create object l_xml.
    call method l_xml->parse_string
      exporting
        stream = xml_out.
    node = l_xml->find_node(
        name   = 'IDENTITY'
       ROOT   = ROOT
    l_xml->set_attribute(
        name    = 'Name'
        value   = 'Charles'
        node    = node
    (the above example reads the element IDENTITY and sets attribute name/value to the same)
    like wise you can add new elements starting from IDENTITY using various methods available in class CL_XML_DOCUMENT
    so how do I access the XML file in order to update it?
    you have already read this XML into a ABAP variable right?
    Sorry couldnt understand your whole process, why do you need to read local XML file?

  • XSLT Editor in Imported Archives (XSLT)

    Hi,
    The SAP Library Content found at this Link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/4c/b2ad3de2d76b3be10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    says:
    "Changes the selected XSLT program. In an Integration Builder editor you can either change lines or import another XSLT program."
    Does this mean, the default Integration Builder editor can be changed to an editor I prefer?
    My aim is to edit the XSLT-Mapping out of the ntegration Builder with the editor I like.
    In our  Integration Builder  the prefered editor is used when I press button "Open in Client Browser", but I whould like it in "Change Program".
    Many thanks for your ideas!
    Brigitte

    Hi,
    Unfortunatley this is not possible yet because editor choice not configurable or in other term since IR is using simple text editor (which can be simple multiline text box).
    But it is good suggestion and you can forward it to SAP XI design team.
    Regards,
    Gourav

  • Lookup in Xi using XSLT with Java enhancement "Error"

    Hi Experts,
    I need your advice urgently.
    I have done message mapping using XSLT mapping with Java enhancement.
    I included the code for SAP DB connection to read from the table.
    I imported both the sapdbc-7_6_00_30_5567 Driver.jar and my custom jar into imported archives.
    I used the java functions in my XSLT to get the lookup value.
    The code was working correctly in NWDS, but when i tried to execute the scenario, it gave me 'SYSTEM ERROR'
    Following is the error as seen in SXMB_MONI

    Hi,
    Thanks to all who replied.
    I solved the problem.
    I was calling the java method from XSLT without passing any arguement.
    I realised that the java methods called from XSLT should always have input parameter. So i changed the javamethod call from
    public static String getCurrentRecNo() to public static String getCurrentRecNo(Object test)
    and it worked.
    Can anybody explain me why java methods called from XSLT should always have an input arguement.
    Thanks
    Mona

  • Using xslt in pl/sql

  • Issue in using XSLT in XI

    I am trying to import an XSLT for use in XI.
    I followed the steps outlined in the XI manual to import the XSLT program:
    (1) created a zip file called transform.zip that contains the XSLT file transform.xslt
    (2) created an Imported Archives object called IA_Transform and imported the zip file (transform.zip)
    (3) saved IA_Transform and activated the change list
    (4) refreshed the object list
    The manual then says that I should be able to create an interface mapping and reference the Imported Archives object
    I create the interface object, select Type "XSL" for the mapping program, and click on the "Choose Archive Program" drop down, and receive a "No objects found!" message.  If I drag 'N drop the IA_Transform object to the name field on the Mapping Program field, I receive a dialog box stating that IA_Transform has no program.
    Is XSLT the proper extension? (I tried changing the suffix to xsl, but was unable to import it).
    Does the XSLT have to refer to a message object in order to work?
    Any insight into my problem would be appreciated!
    Also, it would be helpful if someone could point me to an example of using an XSLT within XI.

    Hi, Mike:
    Basically i have all the necessary steps done based on your description.
    (1) created a zip file called transform.zip that contains the XSLT file transform.xslt
    You should save file with name extention of ".xsl", e.g transform.xsl
    (2) created an Imported Archives object called IA_Transform and imported the zip file (transform.zip)
    (3) saved IA_Transform and activated the change list
    (4) refreshed the object list
    You are right with those steps
    I receive a dialog box stating that IA_Transform has no program.
    The import process is straight forward, you should not have this problem, make sure your zip file is correctly containing the .xsl file.
    Is XSLT the proper extension? (I tried changing the suffix to xsl, but was unable to import it).
    No, XSLT is not correct suffix, as I mentioned, it should be xsl
    Does the XSLT have to refer to a message object in order to work?
    XSLT mapping program basically based on messge copy, tranform structure of the input xml message to another stucture. For large size incoming message, it take a lot of memory. Hope this will give you some ideas.
    So I hope you re-do your process from beginning.
    When you make xsl file, open it with internet explorer, make sure it is valid xml file, then zip it, create archive in IR and import it, activate.
    Good luck !
    Liang

  • Simple XML to Text onversion using XSLT and Java?

    Hi all!
    I'm completly new to using XSLT and Java and are trying to convert a XML file into a ordinary Textfile that I am gonna import into another application.
    I started up writing a ordinary XML parser in Java which interpreted the XML file, but realized later on that it was possible to do with a ordinary XSLT.
    So far it is a 2-step process right now, I've tied my XSLT to the XML file and then just open the XML file up in a ordinary browser and then get the result.
    I found an example (http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/excerpt/java_xslt_ch5/index.html?page=3) where u hook up a XML file and a XSL file separately and the process it, and dump it to Stdout. But do I need to hook up a XSL file like this when the XML file is tied to a XSL file internally?

    Just to give you an example to show you how easy it is: http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread137587.html

    Hi Experts,
    In a Scenario where we are sending Purchase order (ORDERS05) to SAP SNC using XSLT Mapping,
    where in we need to count the no. of schedule lines against the Purchase Order line.
    As in Schedule line segment there is no such provision, so it needs to be handle in XSLT mapping to count the schedule lines.
    Can you all please guide me how to go about the same.

    Hi Satish,
    Thank you very much for the reply,
    as there is only Quantity and other information is maintained against schedule lines how we can count the schedule line repeatation against PO line ? Is that very simple as you suggested or some other consideration also needs to be taken.
    Please clarify the same and let me also know if there are some standard documents also for the same.

    Thanks for your information. I, however, already thought about using string stream instand of a XML file to pass in data. I am looking for a more intelligent method. It doesn't seem to have one so far.

    Hi There!
    The camera is a Panasonic Lumix. I don't have a USB card reader. I did try and different port although not a different cable.
    I did remember one additional thing. I plugged my camera in at work to a PC. It was after that, when I came home, that the iPhoto wasn't working when I connected my camera to our iMac/iPhoto at home. I think this may have caused the problem.

    I can not tell you precisely why you are getting the error as you thought posting the control file commands unimportant but I can provide two general observations.
    1. There is no excuse for being in version 10.2.0.1 so many years, and patches, after its release. You should be in 10.2.0.3 or 10.2.0.4 at the minimum.
    2. You should import this as SYSTEM. If you can not then ask a DBA to do so for you.
