Where to place custom packages?

Hi Forum:
I am implementing a custom java class in IDM 8 using NetBeans.
I would like the custom java class to import a 'jar' file.
Here are the steps I have taken:
1) I have placed the jar files in the folder: 'custom>WEB-INF>lib'
2) Added the jar files to 'Java Sources Classpath' and for good measure also to 'Web Sources Classpath'
However, when I attempt to build the project, I received the error: 'package foobar does not exist'
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks.

Hi:
I have solved this one.
The jars do indeed go to 'custom>WEB-INF>lib'.
Adding the jar file to the 'Java Sources Classpath' is in sufficient; you will also need to add the jar file to the build path;

  • Where to Place Custom Java Code

    We are planning on adding customized Java code to Identity Manager 8; XPRESS will be used to call the customized Java code.
    Questions:
    1) Where does this customised code reside in the Java Application Server (Glassfish)?
    2) Does the customized Java code have to be packaged in a JAR file?
    Many thanks for your help.

    You would deploy custom Java code along with the IDM war/ear file. Classes go in the WEB-INF/classes/ folder, JARs in WEB-INF/lib/ and that is application server independant.
    Class files or JARs? Do you have any build process for your IDM, like the custom build environment CBE, then the source files might end up as class files; if you are using a seperate build environment for those custom classes, then packaging them in a JAR would be the way to go.
    Generally speaking, using a JAR for your custom code is neater; whether a class in classes/com/foo/bar/Foo.class or in lib/myfoobars.jar takes precedence over the other is up to the class loader and depending on your application server and its settings, the behavior might vary - so be careful about mixing use of those locations.

  • Make a custom package-cd

    I run now arch-linux since the release of 0.5 and I am very happy with it!
    Now I'd like to install Arch on another computer. All my packages here are up to date and instead of installing Arch on the other computer and make pacman -Syu (and to wait several hours) I'd like to burn a cd wich contains all my updated packages from /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ and use that as an custom package repository.
    I tried to build a compressed package database out of this directory but I didn't work...
    Are there any suggestions how I could achieve that? The computer would also be in the same network if I could even install it over the network!

    take a look at how the base iso is set up (if you have one). make an arch/ directory with a pkg/ (or is it pkgs) directory within that then place all your packages in it, then gensync (see the pacman manpage on how to use gensync) and with that you can create your "current.db.tar.gz" . then create a setup/ directory like there is on the iso. in this directory there is a packages.txt (apparently there is some way of generating this) and the pacman source if i am not mistaken. once you have your arch/ directory set up like the iso create and iso of it. yiou do not need to make a isolinux directory. then make floppies of the floppy images available on the ftp server and then use those to start your install procedure then when you get to the part where it asks if you are installing via cdrom or ftp put your disc in and select cdrom install. from there it will be just like installing via cd.
    make sure that your current.db.tar.gz package and packages.txt all match or you will have to start all over generating a new iso, etc. i suggest that you use a cdrw just incase you have to go back and correct any content in packages.txt, current.db.tar.gz or your actual package directory.

  • I have a complaint about my mac book pro being slippery. Why do these expensive computers that we as consumers purchase if you set them on a couch slip off no matter where you place them on the couch?

         Hi, my Mac Book Pro 15 inch lap top if i set it on the couch no matter where I place it slips off and luckily so far I have caught it before it falls onto the floor and gets ruined, of which I am super afraid of, due to what I initially paid for it as the consumer. Also, the couch is not made of slippery material at all. Also, when using it on my lap while watching tv, and multi tasking while doing my college homework, it even slides off of my lap at times. Why is it called a lap top then when it's not working as one? Are we to wear rubber pants that grip your products? Also, Why do you place on your Apple website that in one area a satin cover is available in the teal color, and then in another area it's discontinued? I believe it would be simpler if Apple would just remove the product all together from the purchasing website once any product becomes discontinued. Also, I was sitting here at home waiting for a reply about the satin cover in teal no longer being available period or that it has shipped, but yet I ended up calling Apple altogether myself and finding this all out that the only available color is the black. It would've been nice to have recieved an e-mail or a phone call on why it wasn't going to be shipped, or shipping instead of having to do customer services job and doing the leg work myself. Also, why is it that no one also even tells a consumer about the classes that were offered to a new consumer for 14 days after purchase of paying the $99.00s to learn about their macs of any kind? If I had known about such a program, I surely would've signed right up for it. Now I am being told that I can only take one clas at a time or something?!? I seriously wish I was told about this as a consumer of the Mac Book Pro 15 inch, because I would've purchased that offer right away, and now I am stuck and can no longer do it. Also I have had my computer since October of last year. So, I am in college as becoming a graphic designer within a degree of an Associates of Science and am now still struggling to learn the computer, and the programs I pruchased as well at the time of purchase, along with an Epson printer, the magic mouse, and the one year warranty. As for this all, I do believe that Apple needs to make a better bottom to the Mac Book Pro's within a much better quality for the price we pay as consumers, and all other lap tops and/or Notebooks in making them slide proof. The tiny rubber spots on the bottom of the lap tops or any Apple computer similar to mine just needs a better quality improvement to us consumers I spent good money on this purchase, I think now I deserve a rubberised protective cover for free for the slipperyness, and also since I was never told about the program for the classes of which a consumer  was to pay $99.00s for, I think as a good paying quality consumer for Apple's products, I now deserve these classes for free as well.
    Sincerely,
    Kim

    Hi shldr2thewheel,
         it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
    Sincerely in need of help once again,
    Kim

  • Where are the persona packages stored on a Win7 PC with FF6/7b? Also, I can not find any actual info on what the process is to create a new persona theme, all of the info I can find is rather vague and never even tries to explain anything.

    I want to make a custom persona, but none of the info I find on the web actually states where or how persona packages are actually stored on a Vista/Win7 PC. I'm using FF 6 and 7beta. Where the heck are custom persona stored while they are disabled?

    See also:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Themes (Lightweight theme)
    A Persona consists of two images.<br />
    One large image (lightweighttheme-header, 3000x200) for the toolbars at the top and a smaller (lightweighttheme-footer, 300x100) for the footer that are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    The list of installed personas is stored in prefs.js in the Firefox Profile Folder in the lightweightThemes.usedThemes pref in JSON object format ({"id":"#","name":"xxx",...}).
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
    The first entry of that pref is the currently used persona.<br />
    Only the image files of the currently selected persona are stored in the Firefox profile folder.<br />
    All other personas are loaded from the server if you choose another persona.

  • Issues with Custom Package in Lightroom 3...please help

    I am having issues with the custom package in lightroom 3. I am selecting diferent cell sizes (with different aspect ratios) and placing multiple images in these cells.
    On screen everything looks good, but when it actually prints some of these cells are coming out stretched!! For example, the 6x4 cell comes out fine (same aspect ratio as the original capture), but i have 2 x 1.5 inch cell whose image comes out stretched??
    The first thing I thought of was the "zoom to fit" option, but this is not present in picture package.
    Then I thought it perhaps it was something to do with the my print settins, but cannot find anything there.

    I am having the same issue.  I used a Matt Kloskowski print grid and when I printed it, or printed to file, some of the images in the 15 that were created in the template were distorted.  Some the faces became wider and some narrower.  Not just zoomed to fit.  On screen it all looks correct.  Many others on the forum where the template was posted don't seem to have this issue.  I created a template myself just in case that was it but I got the same problem as walenahs.  I tried to figure out what he had done but I didn't get it.
    I have attached the two images.  You can see the distortion in the second image on the top row (too narrow), and on the second row, the second in and second down, black and white (too wide).
    Thanks

    GuofengDisclaimer: I am a newcomer to the world of BEA WLS,
    so try this at your own risk.
    For the 3rd party classes to be found, they have to be included somewhere
    in the CLASSPATH. The best place (IMO) for customisation of the CLASSPATH
    is in the extEnv.sh. You will not find it in a standard installation of
    WLS, but if you look in $WL_HOME/server/bin/startWLS.sh you will see this:
    PATH=".${PATHSEP}${WL_HOME}/server/bin${PATHSEP}${JAVA_HOME}/jre/bin${PATHSE
    P}${JAVA_HOME}/bin${PATHSEP}${PATH}"
    # Import extended environment
    if [ -f extEnv.sh ]; then
    . extEnv.sh
    fi
    Note the inclusion of "." at the start of PATH. This is magic that enables
    the ". extEnv.sh" command to locate the "extEnv.sh" script.
    In "extEnv.sh" you can use the EXT_PRE_CLASSPATH, EXT_POST_CLASSPATH,
    EXT_PRE_PATH, EXT_POST_PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH to add additional classes
    and directories to the server environment.
    For additional information, refer to the WebLogic Server Administration
    Guide (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/adminguide/startstop.html).
    Similar, if you look in $WL_HOME/server/bin/setWLSEnv.sh you will see this:
    PATH="${WL_HOME}/server/bin${PATHSEP}${JAVA_HOME}/jre/bin${PATHSEP}${JAVA_HO
    ME}/bin${PATHSEP}${PATH}"
    export PATH
    # Import extended environment
    if [ -f extEnv.sh ]; then
    . extEnv.sh
    fi
    Note the missing "." in the PATH. This effectively means that even if
    the "extEnv.sh" script exists in the current directory, then ". extEnv.sh"
    command will only look along the PATH for the "extEnv.sh" script! To me,
    that looks like an error (probably caused by a DOS-programmer used to
    the default behavior in DOS to always look in the current directory
    regardless of the setting PATH), so as part of my localised installation
    procedure, I replace the offending part of setWLSEnv.sh with:
    # Import extended environment
    if [ -f extEnv.sh ]; then
    . ./extEnv.sh
    fi
    which forces the "." command to read the "extEnv.sh" file in the current
    directory, regardless of the setting of the PATH variable. I have
    notified BEA of this, but their responses is that it is per design!

  • Where to place Servlets in Tomcat 4.0?

    I just recently installed Tomcat on Win2000 and came across a little problem.
    What is the directory in Tomcat 4.0 to place servlets in?
    They seem to work fine if they are in 'examples' or in a package within the 'examples'-folder but they do not seem to work from ROOT or WEB-INF.
    I tried creating a 'classes'-folder inside of 'WEB-INF'.
    I have been trying to invoke them e.g. like this:
    http://127.0.0.1:8080/servlet/test4.HelloWorldExample (where test4 is the package name)
    I have re-started Tomcat everytime after changing something.
    Where do you normally keep your servlets and how do you view them?
    I would greatly appreciate a couple of real life examples.
    Thanks in advance.

    Are you sure that Tomcat is running properly? First
    try http://localhost:8080
    That should give you a Tomcat default page; otherwise you might have to check your classpath.

  • Custom packager for streaming?

    We've been developing an implementation of Flash Access that included our own packager, based on the packager that comes with the reference implementation.  The customization allows for overriding the CEK, automcatically assigns a contentId and records the same in our database, and tailors a unique license request base URL for that content.
    We want to support streaming video, and so have been following the information found here: http://www.adobe.com/products/httpdynamicstreaming/.  It appears that packaging files for streaming requires a different packager, f4fpackager.exe.  I haven't seen if there's a way to build our own streaming packager.  Is there a way we can package video for streaming and get the customization we need?
    [edited]
    It looks like the f4fpackager can either fragment & encrypt, or just fragment.  Can we use the f4fpackager to fragment only, and then run our custom packager to encrypt?  If so, how is that done?

    Yeah, great, thanks Adobe... you've just lost years worth of community comments and resource there!
    Who thought that removing that forum could ever be a good idea?!
    It could have stayed as a static 'read only' forum with this being the new place to add comments and threads.
    Shocking really...
    Please Adobe re-instate it. You're normally amazing but this truly sucks and is very surprising.

  • Importing/using custom package

    Hello all,
    I've been having trouble find a solution (likely because I'm not sure how to properly word this question, so bear with me).
    FYI, I'm not really sure what I need to do here... this is a gap in my Java knowledge.
    I've written a custom class with a static method that I'd like to use in other programs. In trying to figure out how to do this, I've reviewed sections of the Sun tutorials including Packages. I've created a custom lib folder and I've added it to my system CLASSPATH. I'm using Eclipse and when I try to import my custom package, it recognizes the package subfolders I have nested in the lib folder, but I get errors stating the package cannot be resolved. What do I need to place in this custom folder? .class file? .jar file? I have tried both From what I can tell, Eclipse recognizes it as a valid location (path-wise), but something's not, hence the error.
    I've done some searching on the forums and web, but I haven't come up with anything... again, because I'm not really sure what exact keywords to search for.
    Can anyone give me some ideas, or point me to specific documentation/threads relating to this?
    Thanks!

    KajAh, that explains it. Okay, that worked; I added the custom code as an external jar in the build path and it works. Is this the recommended method, or is there a "preferred" way? Or does it matter at all?
    It's the way that Eclipse wants to see it.
    Every IDE is a variation on that theme.
    App servers all want to see CLASSPATH their way, too.
    The one thing they all have in common is that they ignore a system CLASSPATH environment variable. I don't have one, because it's pretty much useless.

  • How to write a procedure to run the call the custom package from backend

    Hi All
    Oracle 10g
    Oracle Apps R12
    I am working with oracle order management here we have a customize Package called (Pick Release).Due to some problem we have running this concurrent program by manually giving Route_id as parameter. The route_id is taken from the route Table. By using this query
    select distinct route_id from route@DB_LINK_APPS_TO_ROADSHOW
    where trunc(route_date) = trunc (sysdate+2).
    so daily we have nearly 42 routes and we are running this concurrent program manually nearly times.
    so now how to write a procedure for this
    Step 1 Getting the route from route table.( By cursor we can get the route_id Accordingly)
    Step 2 How to trigger the custom package from back end and execute accordingly to that output of the cursor(route_id)
    If the cursor get 40 routes is it then the concurrent program runs 40 times according to that route_id.
    can some could provide the steps to do this
    Thanks & Regards

    This is about 4 or 5 lines of PL/SQL and the name of the custom package is not provided.
    If you request someone in this forum to do your work for free -because obviously you didn't even try to write it, which must be considered abusing this forum- you must at least provide sufficient info so someone can do it.
    And no, I won't do it for you.

  • Creating an executable jar-file including a custom package

    I am trying to learn how to create executable jar-files. I have managed this with a single class. However having a class which is an extention of another class which in turn belongs to custom package, I can't make it work.Running the program normally is not a problem. I don't think the problem is the actual code, but I will include it here anyway. I create the jar-file using:
    jar -cmf Direkt2b.txt Direkt2b.jar *.class
    where Direkt2b.txt is just:
    Main-Class: Diriekt2b
    Only the main class-file is included this way. Copying the other file to the same directory before creation doesn't help either. There is no error messages, the jar-file just refuses to run no matter what.
    The main-class:
    import java.awt.*;
    import extra.*;
    class Direkt2b extends ExtendedFrame {
         Font f;
         Direkt2b() {
              f = new Font("SansSerif", Font.BOLD, 24);
              setBackground(Color.yellow);
              setSize(400,150);
         public void paint(Graphics g) {
              g.setFont(f);
              g.setColor(Color.blue);
              g.drawString("V?lkommen till Java Direkt", 45, 100);
         public static void main (String[] arg) {
              Direkt2b d2 = new Direkt2b();
              d2.setVisible(true);
    The help-class:
    package extra;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    public class ExtendedFrame extends Frame {
         private static boolean first = true;
         private boolean isFirst = first;
         public ExtendedFrame() {
              addWindowListener(theListener);
              first=false;
         WindowAdapter theListener = new WindowAdapter () {
              public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e) {
              dispose();
              if (isFirst)
                   System.exit(0);
    }

    My problem wasn't really getting more than one class in a jar-file,
    but rather that my jar-file with multiple classes wouldn't execute.
    Reading the original post I realized that maybe I was unclear about that.
    However I have solved the problem now so for anybody reading this
    thread in the future I will tell you how.
    The general setting is this: You have a bunch of self-made help-classes
    organized in some classdirectory somewhere in the filesystem. You use these
    in your programming from time to time. You have set a classpath-varible
    in your OS such that Java could find your help-classes.
    Now you want to create executable jar-files so that you could publish your work.
    My problem was that while I added all needed classes in a jar-file, the main-class
    couldn't find the others because they were referenced incorrectly. The solution I
    came up with may not be elegant, but it works. I copied the main-class and all directories
    (only one in my case) just as they appear in the classpath-directory, to the same temporary
    directory. Then I created the jar-file from there, using: jar -cmfv Direkt2b.txt Direkt2b.jar Direkt2b.class extra/*.class
    I suspected that incorrect referencing was the problem and I tried several variations on the theme above
    before giving up and writing the first post. Part the problem was that I didn't get any error messages,
    just an annoying error-sound double-clicking the jar-file. I learned later that you could run jar-files from
    the command -prompt using: java -jar myjarfile.jar. This way you get a more useful response.
    I guess there is a way to include the classpath instead somehow, but I will use my method for now.
    I hope this was helpful to somebody.
