Why do I have to click 'Open' to open an application or document, when previously in Tiger, all I had to do was click on the line or image in Flow?
I've only had OSX 10.8.2 this last month, but I've found that whenever I want to open a document, I have to click 'Open' in 'Perform tasks with the selected item' function (The gearwheel with dropdown arrow). When I had Tiger, all I had to do was click on the document and it would open. Am I missing something
that would make my experience with Mountain Lion simpler?
Hi sig, I was only referring to flow because that is just an alternative use to clicking on the line that the document shows on in either line view, but since asking the question, I have discovered that what I was missing was to double click on the line and the document opened.

You can not run executable files from the download dialog, this is a security measure.

Why can I not open a stated InDesign CS8.1 document when mine says it is InDesign CC version 9.1? I have creative cloud.
The version error messages are really screwed up and out of sync with the new naming (CC) system. CS8.1 would be CC2014 version 10.1

i have the exact problem, only have 6 computers with indesign CC version 10.1.0.70, but 2 computers, is version 9, i try actualization no CC, but no success. i can´t use open file, em others computers, because problem version, i liked if all indesign had the same version.

hi all. i just downloaded mountain lion and it seems to have added an old password for admin at the start up, the old password was removed so all i had to do was press enter and off i go, i cant remember it, what to do now??

You can reset a Password (lost/forgotten) set on your Mac using 'Reset Password Utility' available with OS X Utilities tool. With OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Utilities tool can be generally found on a local hidden Recovery HD Partition if your Mac has one.
To check If your Mac has got a local hidden Recovery HD Partition, start your Mac holding COMMAND + R buttons. If you hold the keys pressed enough and there is a local Recovery HD Partition on your Mac, you will be presented with OS X Utilities window.
Click the 'Tool' menu item and choose 'Reset password'. Terminal window appears. Type 'resetpassword' into it and press 'Enter'. Reset Password window appears with User Account Names available on your Start-up Volume. Select the User Account Name and rest is simple to follow.
One of the advantages of this method is that it does not require any Authorization method such as administrative authentication to reset a password.
NOTE: If your Mac does not have a local hidden Recovery Partition on its system disk, you can create one using Disk Assistant application available from Apple. Search for the Disk Assistant in the support area. -
I have four devices on one Apple ID, i have seperate emails and phone numbers for each device but when I tried to add one to my iPod, it said that the email was already in use. I have tried many things and the only guess I have is that either someone else has this email as their iMessage but is fake or it wasn't taken off my old iPod when I reset it. Any ideas on what to do?
Thanks but that doesn't give me the information I need. I am putting an email on my ipod for people to contact me for iMessage and FaceTime but when I put the email in, it gives me an error saying that the email cannot be veirified because it is already in use. My Apple ID can be varified, just not the email that they will contact me with.

Wondering how to create new folders for my Outlook 365 mail account. I know with pc all I had to do was to left mouse click.
Any suggestions?New folder where? If you added the account in Mail app it should of created the folders to store that email automatically.

I have Photo Stream enabled with Automatic downloads enabled. Yet when I try to join a Photo stream I get referred to The I Cloud start support page - this happens for both my Mac and my IPad. What can I do?

10.7.4 is the latest update of MacOS X Lion. Run Software Update in System Preferences.
Since you state to run 10.7.2, Software Update will have to use the combo updater to bring it up to 10.7.4. This will entail a large download that will take some time so have patience. I suggest the following steps:

Hello. I have tried to use my visa gift card to purchase something from apple. However, the security code is not present, which I am aware of. When I typed in the correct security code, I discovered that there was not enough money in the card to complete the purchase anyway. Now, whenever I attempt to update my applications on my iPhone 3Gs, I am directed to the billing information from the previous purchase that did not work. How do I cancel the purchase and continue to update my applications?
This happens for some apps. If you have a computer try to buy on it. Otherwise you will have to enter a credit card or some from of billing.

On other previous editions of Photoshop I could order the scanner to scan using "file", then "Import" on other versions, my scanner was listed. The scanner I have now is a wireless, does that make any difference. As I see it must be linked in some way. How do I do that? I am using PSE12.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

I can make the groups but the problem happens when i close firefox and open again.
Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox or use cleanup software that clears session data (sessionstore.js)
