Word document goes blank mid-typing, why?

I am a teacher and a student was typing a research paper. All of a sudden the whole document went blank. I have tried to go to the saved file on the Flash drive and it reopens as a blank document. I have tried the Ctrl+z to go to the typed item,
nothing. I have tried the undo button, nothing. What can I do? Is there any hope for this lost document?

You may Restart Word to look for the recovered document, but first you have to quit all instances of Winword.exe and Word.
You should search temporary AutoRecover file that includes the latest changes in your document. This file is either created or updated at the end of each preset time period.
Note: The Save AutoRecover info every option is turned on by default and is preset to save an AutoRecover file in every 10 minutes.

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in 10.8 there is only one. If you're running a version older than 10.8, this comment isn't applicable.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder—not just its contents—to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window.
This action will delete any custom Mail stationery that you have created. If you want to preserve it, ask for instructions.
If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.

The quality of a conversion really depends on the quality of the original PDF file. Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community. Do you know what or how the PDF file was created?
You may have better luck by disabling OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. (Note, however, that is option isn't optimal if the PDF was created from a scanned document; you'd want OCR enabled to convert the image text in the PDF to editable text).

I uploaded a WORD document to a Document Library with this code:

The document gets uploaded into the correct folder in the Document Library, however when I open it from SharePoint it is just a blank document. And sometimes it is corrupted and cannot be opened.
If I upload a PDF using this code, the pdf cannot be opened. It says the file is corrupted.
Any ideas?

Acrobat 7 document goes blank after digital signature

Secretary creates document on network drive. When a manager digitally signs the document it goes blank. Acrobat Pro 7.1.4. After multiple tries the document will work. Can automatic saving be disabled during the signing procedure so that the document does not have to be recreated to be signed again.

Finally I found the solution.
The file size increase is a result of the embedded information used for long-term signature validation.
If you do not need this feature, you can turn it off:
Preferences > Security > Advanced Preferences > Creation tab
disable "Include Signature’s Revocation"

Application Bar's "Arrange Documents" goes blank when curser hovers over it

Whenever the cursor hovers over the "Arrange Documents", "Screen Mode", "Launch Bridge", "View Extras", "Hand Tool", "Zoom Tool" and "Rotate View Tool" the icons go blank.
When clicking on them (i.e. "Arrange Documents") only alphanumeric is displayed. When moving the cursor over the blank area where icons should be displayed, only the pop-up tool tips are displayed.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

There is a work-around...
The following is NIK's answer to my question:
"Thank you for your email. This is a known issue that will be resolved with a future update. Until then there is a work around where if you just close and reopen the selective tool, the issue will go away. You can reopen the selective tool by going under the File > Automate option inside of Photoshop."

Can you give us more information? Reader version? Type of Adobe docs (are they pdfs?)? Are you trying to print from Reader or while you are viewing the documents in your web browser (if so which web browser)? What OS? What printer and printer driver?

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
    1.    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    2.    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    3.    Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    4.    Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
    5.    Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

Converting Word to PDF blanks document and cannot do anything in word.

when i select convert to pdf in word it flashes a few times and then the document goes blank and word doesn't lock up but I can't do anythhing to the document but close it and doesn't ask to save or anything. It looks like when I select convert it creates a new blank document in place of original.
I can print to pdf fine but when I do that it does not retain bookmarks and can't figure out how to make it save them when using adobe printer driver

I have reinstalled the Adobe and did several repairs, then added adobe reader. when that did not work I reinstalled the Microsoft office 2013, still did not work. When I ran it in administrator it converted fine, so I though maybe permissions, check them and add the user onto the adobe folder, still did not work?????

New document in library using Word template - columns filled but Word doc is blank

I have a document library using a Word template. It works fine in testing: New Document opens the template, the form at the top of the document is filled by the user, the data populates the fields within the template, the user saves it in the document library.
But... I have a user with an issue: When she adds a New Document and fills out the form at the top of the Word template, the data doesn't populate the fields within the document itself. It saves into the library columns ok, but the fields within the Word
document remain blank.
She has Office 2010, XP and IE8. It's SharePoint 2010.
Any ideas how to resolve the issue would be appreciated!

Further information: I emailed the Word template to the user. She opened it and could only input information into the Information Panel at the top, not into the fields within the document.

I'm sorry I haven't replied sooner - I was away for a break. Anyway, I've done an Office repair but sadly the behaviour is the same as it was before I did that. However, I noticed that the behaviour is now different from when I first posted about the problem.
Then I got an error now there is no error and it proceeds as if the behaviour is what should be expected. So now when I click "Add Document" I just get the standard "Add a document" dialog box. Oh well, its not the end of the world.
Anyway, thanks for your help and suggestion. If I work out what is wrong I'll put a post on here.

How to open "word" document

I had some old Word documents on a Dell laptop that I wanted to view on my iMac. Using a USB drive, I successfully transferred the files from the Dell to the iMac. Some of the documents open up normally for viewing, etc. Others do not. A Pages box pops up and says the document can't be opened. These are all Word documents, so I'm puzzled why some will open and others won't. Is there a way to convert these "problem" documents to jpegs?

These are old Word documents 1999-2000 mostly. I only have Word on the laptop. It's old and I'm planning on "decommissioning" it, if you catch my drift. As I said, some of them open without any problem, while others do not. What's a fella to do? :-)

Excel for mac ver14.4.1 screen goes blank when i change to & from full screen view

when i'm working on an excel document, if i am in full screen and hit escape to go non full screen the document goes blank.
if i hit the full screen arrows again, i see my document momentarily and then the screen goes blank again.
i believe this issue began recently after the most recent version update. i must constantly save my documents in case i go in or
out of full screen view and my page goes blank so i don't lose my work. does anyone else have this issue and what can i do about
it? my macbook uses os x ver 10.7.5. not sure if this is an excel problem or an os x problem.

You select the printer properties and set the appropriate page size (I think there is a place to set it in PDF Maker too, but not sure). In the printer, this is equivalent to putting the proper paper in the printer.
