XML Content is loading in URL - why?

The content of XML file i am calling is loading into the URL
when i getURL and i wish to trim it or simply get rid of the
content and keep the url

Bhaskar,
Go to Content Admin -> Portal Content Transition -> Transition Worklist coordination -> Select the content what you are displaying in the Content Area i.e Iviews or pages.
Here in the portal content create WorkList by righr clciking on some folder.
here add the portal content to this worklist.
After that generate the Transition Data. A button for this will be in the top left.
Then relaese for transition.
Here then Search worklist and define the source and target languages.
Then load the worklist for transiton .
Then transulate the worklist
Then mark the workklist as transulated
Then the final step is Publish Transition.
Thanks

  • Print Specific Frames and Dynamic XML content

    Hello, I am trying to print specific frames of my Flash movie
    with the dynamic text loaded from an XML file. The code below only
    prints the current frame I am on and does not print the XML text.
    The dataOK that is commented out is a function I have before that
    loads the XML content. The XML content is loaded to dynamic text
    boxes. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    I am still having difficulty loading the XML data and the
    frameNum parameter does not seem to work. Argghhhh....
    function printTut(myevent:MouseEvent):void{
    var myPrintJob:PrintJob = new PrintJob();
    var mySprite:Sprite = new Sprite();
    var printArea:Rectangle = null;
    var options:PrintJobOptions = null;
    var frameNum:int = 2;
    mySprite.addChild(stage);
    mySprite.rotation=90;
    mySprite.scaleY=.80;
    mySprite.scaleX=.80;
    myPrintJob.start();
    myPrintJob.addPage(mySprite,printArea,options,frameNum);
    myPrintJob.send();
    print_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,printTut);

  • Dynamic XML content displayed in HTML using url variable

    Hi guys,
    The following is code i am having issues with:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var xml_connect_00 = "new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet(";
    var xml_connect_01 = "assets/xml/toolkit.xml\",
    \"toolkit/section/";
    var xml_connect_02 =
    "/product\",{sortOnLoad:\"product_name\",sortOrderOnLoad:\"ascending\"";
    var xml_connect_03 = ")";
    // Create variable to see if there is a ? in the url
    var url_input = document.URL.indexOf('?');
    // Create variable from ? in the url to the end of the string
    var xml_category = document.URL.substring(url_input+1,
    document.URL.length);
    var dsSoftware =
    document.write(xml_connect_00,xml_connect_01,xml_category,xml_connect_02,xml_connect_03);
    --->
    </script>
    dsSoftware is my XML Data set connection string, and by using
    document.write, the correct string i want is displayed (in my
    html), but - as you can probably guess by now(!) - i want it to
    display in the actual Javascript code so i can connect to the xml
    file and display the contents depending on the url variable sent.
    Is this possible, and if so, am i going about it the right
    way? I am not the most proficient at JavaScript, so may have some
    ugly code (and not even 100% that this can even be done)!!
    Just to give you an outline as to why i am doing this - my
    XML file has different categories within it for different products.
    I send the category name via a url variable to another page
    (containing the above code) that will display the appropriate
    category information depending on what url variable is sent.
    Cheers in advance for any help.

    Me again!
    Sorry to keep updating, but i have now surpassed my last
    question and got the alert to work correctly. The question i have
    now regards the following code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var params = Spry.Utils.getLocationParamsAsObject();
    var dsSoftware = new
    Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("assets/xml/toolkit.xml", "toolkit/section");
    //If the URL parameter 'software' has a value, set the XPath
    that includes a filter and then load the data.
    if (params.software){
    dsSoftware.setXPath("toolkit/section[name =
    '"+params.software+"']/product");
    dsSoftware.loadData();
    //alert(params.software);
    //-->
    </script>
    Everything seems to work without error, but i cannot load my
    xml file. The problem, i think, is that my xml heirachy is as
    follows:
    "toolkit/section/section_name/product"
    section_name is unique for each section, and that is what i
    am trying to pass through the url variable, so i can display all
    the products from that section.
    Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong?
    Cheers in advance - again!!

  • Import/Load XML from Web Service or URL?

    Hi,
    Like many, I'm new to LCD 8.2.  I have a form with subforms and repeating rows currently bound via a schema, but that can change if need be.  I'm able to import/export file-based XML and that process works well.
    However I'd rather not subject my end-users to browsing for an XML file, and loading it, and I'd like to provide something more elegant. In short, I'd like to import XML from either a web service (returning a single value being the XML document) or by loading the XML directly from a URL by a single button click.
    Is this possible?
    Much appreciated,
    Dave

  • Why is XML content disappearing when converting to button?

    I've never had this issue before but when I try to convert a group of objects containing XML or just the text box containing XML content into a button the XML content vanishes from the Structure panel. Usually when clicking "convert to button" everything stays normal and the XML doesn't vanish and stays linked etc. Is this a glitch or is there some odd setting that's causing this?

    I work strictly with arial and times new roman.
    I think all of the problems were with times new roman. I didn't see much of a pattern and what I did see was sporadic. There were problems in regular paragraphs and tables as well.
    As suggested I installed all updates to Frame and after focusing on incorporating my reviewers' PDF comments I just PDF the manual again and found no problems! Yay!
    I agree about the inefficiency of searching forums; it's easier to start a new thread.
    I had no idea about Google's advanced search page . . . nice to know.

  • Could not load file/URL (file not found) error for JNLP file

    I am completely baffled in trying to figure out why I am getting the following error for some JNLP files but not others:
    Error: could not load file/URL specified: C:\Users\tom\AppData\Local\Temp\javaws2
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\tom\AppData\Local\Temp\javaws2 (The system cannot find the file specified)

    at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)I have Googled around this forum and elsewhere, and have seen reports that this error is IE-specific, and seems to have something to do with no-cache headers being sent, or with the client browser's cache being full or turned off (which is not my case). I saw the information in the JavaWS FAQ, which recommended turning off security constraints for the JNLP's URI. I tried that, and it didn't help. One of the very baffling things is that I have created several variations of the JNLP file, with varying combinations of jars and property resources, and some combinations always work while other combinations never work. Here's an example:
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="$$codebase">
       <information>
          <title>demo app</title>
          <description>illustrates weird bug</description>
       </information>
       <resources>
          <j2se version="1.5+"/>
          <jar href="randomFile.jar"/>
          <property name="xxx" value="xxxx"/>
          <property name="swing.metalTheme" value="steel"/>
       </resources>
    </jnlp>The above file always fails with the error shown at the top of this message. However, if I remove either of the two properties, it works fine. And I have created other variations with lots of properties, some of which work. All of these variations are in the same directory in the war file, served by the exact same servlet (a slightly modified version of the jnlp.sample.servlet.JnlpDownloadServlet provided with JDK 1.6.0_3). Assuming that a no-cache header is the problem, what on earth could be causing some JNLP files to always be served with a no-cache header, while others are never served with a no-cache header?
    On a related note, any recommended debugging techniques for seeing what headers are being transmitted? I tried adding a simple check for a "debug=true" parameter in the servlet that causes it to set the content type to "text/plain" instead of JNLP, and that allows me to see (rather than execute) the JNLP XML that's being returned, but it doesn't show me the HTTP headers that are being sent back. If any caching headers are being set, I think it must be being set by the servlet container itself, as it's nothing being set in the servlet code that I can see. So I don't see any way on the server side Java code to output or log the actual HTTP response (or is there?). Any tips in that regard much appreciated.

    Hi Luca-Sanna,
    Thanks for the response. Re browsers, yes, it fails in IE but it succeeds in Firefox. The info on the JavaWS FAQ and other places all seem to indicate that it's an IE issue concerning handling of the cache-control headers.
    I should check in my webserver forum (Sun WebServer 7) to see about logging options. Sniffing on the client side is not possible, as my app is required to use HTTPS exclusively, and unfortunately that also precludes a telnet GET request.

  • FireFox images not loading in local folders (firebug error-Failed to load given URL)

    I am having difficulty when developing websites in local folders (Windows7 computer). The webpages I make are showing images in IE9 & Chrome but not FireFox (nor Safari nor Opera).
    In FireFox I get Firebug "Failed to load given URL" prompt.
    I am using html5 & external linked css stylesheet & the html/html5 & css code validates.
    I have tried using rel path ie images/image.gif & absolute path references ie C:/RPD_Programming/RPD WEB/amwcsnew/index.html
    and have tried using % to eliminate whitespace in references but I cannot get FireFox to display images!!
    This has been a problem for me for around 2 weeks now & is very frustrating. Some website code/templates I have downloaded from the internet display the websites properly (ie load images fine) when I open them locally in FireFox. Why does my code not allow the images to load in FireFox (paths/permissions/other issue??). How can I fix this?
    Here is example css & html5 not displaying images from local directory in FireFox (fine in IE9 & Chrome):

    Is there a FireFox guide/manual in pdf format available anywhere? I have not found one yet & a FireFox reference might be useful!

    You need to use file:// as the protocol instead of C:/. The latter may never work (C:\ might).
    Where is the main HTML located ?
    Easiest if to store the images in a sub folder of the location because you can't go back via ../ beyond that root location for security reasons.

                    i++;
    and it remove all my previously loaded pictures,but it throw me an error :
    RangeError: Error #2006: The supplied index is out of bounds.
    at flash.display: DisplayObjectContainer/removeChildAt()
    it seems error come from the removeChildAt, but i can't figure out what's wrong
    i've tried to replace removeChildAt(n); by removeChild(n); and the loop crash Flash software....
    any suggestion ?

  • Hiding XML content in Flash

    Ok so I have created this button that expands within a movie clip called "movie1_mc". At frame 12 the button stops expanding and an external XML file loads in 7 subnavigation buttons within a single mc called "button". After the user rolls Off the subnavigation btns the "movie1_mc" button collapses but the laoded xml content is still there. I need to get rid of the XMl content after frame 13 how can I accomplish this?
    Below is my coe that loads the XML content:
    stop();
    function loadXML(loadedX) {
        if (loadedX) {
            xmlNode = this.firstChild;
            image = [];
            total = xmlNode.childNodes.length;
        for (i=0; i<total; i++) {
            image[i] = xmlNode.childNodes[i].childNodes[0].firstChild.nodeValue;
            load_pic();
        } else {
            content = "file not loaded!";
    xmlData = new XML();
    xmlData.ignoreWhite = true;
    xmlData.onLoad = loadXML;
    xmlData.load("images.xml");
    function load_pic(){
        k = Math.floor(Math.random()*total);
        picture_1.holder.loadMovie(image[k], 1);
    //Store Button Position
    var yPosition:Number = 210;
    var xPosition:Number = 110;
    //Declare New XML Object
    var myXML:XML = new XML();
    //Set Flash to ignore the XML file's white space
    myXML.ignoreWhite = true;
    //Declare new Array to store the links from the XML file
    var links:Array = new Array();
    //Declare new Array to store the names from the XML file
    var names:Array = new Array();
    //Set XML onLoad function
    myXML.onLoad = function(){
        //Set varible to store the XML childNodes

        //Set a varible named currentBtn equal to the instance name of the current button the mouse clicked on
        var currentBtn:String = this._name;
        //Set a varible named currentIndex equal to the varible currentBtn and the characters between 3rd letter and 5th of that string.
        //This will return a number between 0 and the total number of buttons
        var currentIndex:String = currentBtn.substring(3,5);
        //Get the URL from the links Array
        //Use the currentIndex varible as the index number
        getURL(links[currentIndex]);
    Any help with this is greatly appreciated
    Cheers-

    Hi
    Thanks al for ur replies.
    Actually my requirement is to send email with some xml data in the body (like failed records to show dat dese are all the records without necessary information).
    @Eric,
    Using ora:getContentAsString(XMLElement) i only received a blank email without any content. I even tried to write the xml content in a file and used ora:doc() . Even then the body of the email is blank. Dunno wat i am missing here.
    @pavan4s
    I am literally new to bpel. Can u please elaborate or send some links to use xsl in email body?

  • Mapping of unkown XML Content

    First of all sorry for my bad English.
    I have a mapping problem. I call a Biz Talk Web Service and the problem is that the response type is not well-defined. The relevant part of the WSDL is:
                   <xsd:complexType name="SqlXml" mixed="true">
                        <xsd:sequence>
                             <xsd:any/>
                        </xsd:sequence>
                   </xsd:complexType>
                   <xsd:simpleType name="SqlResultCode">
    I have response messages like that:
      <ns0:P_VISH_MASTERResult>
        <ns1:SqlXml>
          <Value1>1</Value1>
          <Value2>1</Value2>
        </ns1:SqlXml>
        <ns1:SqlResultCode xsi:type="sqltypes:SqlResultCode">0</ns1:SqlResultCode>
      </ns0:P_VISH_MASTERResult>
    My target xsd  for the mapping of these response message is:
         <xsd:complexType name="DT_SAP_BTGINFO">
              <xsd:sequence>
                   <xsd:element name="SqlResultCode" type="xsd:int"/>
                   <xsd:element name="SqlXml" type="xsd:string" minOccurs="0"/>
                   </xsd:element>
              </xsd:sequence>
         </xsd:complexType>
    So I simply map SqlResultCode to SqlResultCode and SqlXml to sqlXml. When I test this mapping with simple Strings all works fine. When I load the example from above the mapping for SqlXml doesn't work. After Loading the example I get sub nodes Value1 and Value2 and there are naturally no mappings for these nodes.
    The question is: How can I map the unknown XML Content of the node SqlXml? Thanks for help!

    > Hi Gil,
    >
    > If the SqlXml always contains the two value nodes,
    > you need to modify your structure to have those two
    > nodes instead of just "Any". ....
    >
    > Hope this helps.
    >
    > Hart
    This was my first Idea because I know all possible fieldnames (value1, value2 …). I have to post a little bit more of my WSDL to explain my problem with this solution.
              <xsd:schema targetNamespace="http://LK-ZEHFGENIF1/VISH/VISH_WS" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="qualified">
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"/>
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types"/>
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types/SqlMessage"/>
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types/SqlResultStream"/>
                   <xsd:element name="P_VISH_MASTERResponse">
                        <xsd:complexType>
                             <xsd:sequence>
                                  <xsd:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="P_VISH_MASTERResult" type="sqlresultstream:SqlResultStream"/>
                             </xsd:sequence>
                        </xsd:complexType>
                   </xsd:element>
              </xsd:schema>
              <xsd:schema targetNamespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types/SqlResultStream" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="qualified">
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"/>
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types"/>
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types/SqlMessage"/>
                   <xsd:complexType name="SqlResultStream">
                        <xsd:choice minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded">
                             <xsd:element name="SqlRowSet" type="sqltypes:SqlRowSet"/>
                             <xsd:element name="SqlXml" type="sqltypes:SqlXml"/>
                             <xsd:element name="SqlMessage" type="sqlmessage:SqlMessage"/>
                             <xsd:element name="SqlResultCode" type="sqltypes:SqlResultCode"/>
                        </xsd:choice>
                   </xsd:complexType>
              </xsd:schema>
              <xsd:schema targetNamespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="qualified">
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"/>
                   <xsd:complexType name="SqlXml" mixed="true">
                        <xsd:sequence>
                             <xsd:any/>
                        </xsd:sequence>
                   </xsd:complexType>
              </xsd:schema>
    So I modify the SqlXml definition in that way:
              <xsd:schema targetNamespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="qualified">
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"/>
                   <xsd:complexType name="SqlXml" mixed="true">
                        <xsd:sequence>
                                <xsd:element name="Value1" type="xsd:string"/>
                             <xsd:element name="Value2" type="xsd:string"/>
                        </xsd:sequence>
                   </xsd:complexType>
              </xsd:schema>
    After importing this modified WSDL I use the message type P_VISH_MASTERResponse for mapping. When I generate a test message with the mapping tool all works fine. Here is an example for such a generated test message:
    <ns0:P_VISH_MASTERResponse xmlns:ns0="http://LK-ZEHFGENIF1/VISH/VISH_WS">
      <ns0:P_VISH_MASTERResult xmlns:ns1="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types/SqlResultStream">
        <ns1:SqlXml xmlns:ns2="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types">
          <ns2:Value1/>
          <ns2:Value2/>
        </ns1:SqlXml>
        <ns1:SqlResultCode />
      </ns0:P_VISH_MASTERResult>
    </ns0:P_VISH_MASTERResponse>
    But the response of the web service looks like that:
    <tns:P_VISH_MASTERResponse xmlns:tns="http://LK-ZEHFGENIF1/VISH/VISH_WS" xmlns:sqlresultstream="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types/SqlResultStream" xmlns:sqlmessage="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types/SqlMessage" xmlns:sqltypes="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/2001/12/SOAP/types" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
      <tns:P_VISH_MASTERResult xsi:type="sqlresultstream:SqlResultStream">
        <sqlresultstream:SqlXml xsi:type="sqltypes:SqlXml">
          <Value1>bla blabla</Value1>
          <Value2>bla blabla</Value2>
        </sqlresultstream:SqlXml>
        <sqlresultstream:SqlResultCode xsi:type="sqltypes:SqlResultCode">0</sqlresultstream:SqlResultCode>  </tns:P_VISH_MASTERResult>
    </tns:P_VISH_MASTERResponse>
    The difference is the namespace specification of Value 1 and Value 2. The response message of the web service hasn't this specification. That's the reason why the mapping of Value1 and Value2 won't work.

  • XML file not loading...HELP!

    Hello,
    I'm working on a Magento template that includes a flashfile that loads a XML file.
    I'm getting the following error:
    XML FAILED TO LOAD! (undefinedtfile_main.xml)
    Fout bij openen van URL 'file:////Volumes/Macintosh%20HD/Users/ralreclame/Desktop/undefinedtf ile_main.xml'
    flash folder looks like this:
    I also tried placing the xml-file outside the xml_folder. Did not work either.
    code in the first frame looks like this:
    Stage.align = "MC";
    Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
    _root.gall = url="tfile";
    _root.cacheKiller = "true";
    _root.road = _root.xmlUrl;
    _root.r_p = _root.imagesFolder;
    import gs.dataTransfer.XMLParser;
    function onFinish(success_boolean, results_obj, xml) {
        //This fhunction gets called as soon as the XML loads and gets parsed.
        if (success_boolean) {
            trace(1);
            play();
    stop();
    var parsed_obj = {};
    //We'll use this to hold the parsed xml object (once the XML loads and gets parsed successfully).
    var unCash = new Date().getTime();
    if (_root.cacheKiller == "true") {
        fileToLoad = _root.road+url+"_main.xml?cacheKiller="+unCash;
        fileToLoad = _root.road+url+"_main.xml";
    } else {
        fileToLoad = _root.road+url+"_main.xml";
    XMLParser.load(fileToLoad, onFinish, parsed_obj);
    Hopefully anyone can help me out here!
    grtz Roel

    Thanx for the reply!  my flash folder looks like this:
    and i inserted the value this way >>
    Stage.align = "MC";
    Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
    _root.gall = url="tfile";
    _root.cacheKiller = "true";
    _root.road = _root.xmlUrl;
    _root.r_p = _root.imagesFolder;
    _root.xmlUrl; = "xml_folder/"            <<
    import gs.dataTransfer.XMLParser;
    function onFinish(success_boolean, results_obj, xml) {
        //This fhunction gets called as soon as the XML loads and gets parsed.
        if (success_boolean) {
            trace(1);
            play();
    stop();
    var parsed_obj = {};
    //We'll use this to hold the parsed xml object (once the XML loads and gets parsed successfully).
    var unCash = new Date().getTime();
    if (_root.cacheKiller == "true") {
        fileToLoad = _root.road+url+"_main.xml?cacheKiller="+unCash;
        fileToLoad = _root.road+url+"_main.xml";
    } else {
        fileToLoad = _root.road+url+"_main.xml";
    XMLParser.load(fileToLoad, onFinish, parsed_obj);
    The movie now shows in the preview so no more load error. One step further.
    But the links from the XML file are stil not working. When i preview the movie in flash i get "undefined" 5 times (i got 5 links in the xml file) It looks like this>>>
    any idea where that comes from??
    Thanks Again.

  • Performance question on small XML content but with large volume

    Hi all,
    I am new to Berkeley XML DB.
    I have the following simple XML content:
    <s:scxml xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/2005/07/scxml">
    <s:state id="a"/>
    <s:state id="b"/>
    <s:state id="c"/>
    </s:scxml>
    about 1.5K bytes each but the total number of such content is large (5 million+ records).
    This is a typical query:
    query 'count(collection("test.dbxml")/s:scxml/s:state[@id="a"]/following-sibling::s:state[@id="e"])'
    where the id attribute is used heavily.
    I've tested with about 10000 records with the following indexes:
    Index: edge-attribute-equality-string for node {}:id
    Index: unique-node-metadata-equality-string for node {http://www.sleepycat.com/2002/dbxml}:name
    Index: edge-element-presence-none for node {}:scxml
    Index: edge-element-presence-none for node {}:state
    but the query took just under one minute to complete. Is this the expected performance? It seems slow. Is there anyway to speed it up?
    In addition, the total size of the XML content is about 12M but ~100M of data is generated with the log.xxxxxxxxxx files. Is this expected?
    Thanks.

    Hi Ron,
    Yes, I've noticed the URI issue after sending the post and changed them to:
    dbxml> listindex
    Default Index: none
    Index: edge-attribute-equality-string for node {http://www.w3.org/2005/07/scxml}

    Index: unique-node-metadata-equality-string for node {http://www.sleepycat.com/2

    ml
    Index: edge-element-presence-none for node {http://www.w3.org/2005/07/scxml}:sta

    I added more records (total ~30000) but the query still took ~1 minute and 20 seconds to run. Here is the query plan:

    The indexes are used in this case and the execution time was reduced to about 40 seconds. I set the namespace with setNamespace when the session is created. Is this the reason why the indexes without URI are used?
    Any other performance improvement hints?

  • Efficient way for Continous Creation of XML Content?

    Hi
    I have a requirement of creating xml content from the data extraced from a udp packet.
    As the packet arrives, i have to generate appropriate xml content from them and keep in the same single xml file.
    Problem:
    Since the xml file is not a flat file, i can't just append the new contents at the end. So if i have to write into xml file, Each and Every time i have to parse the content as a packet arrives and insert the new content under appropriate parent. I think this is not the most efficient way.
    Every time parsing the file may affect cpu time and as the file grows in size, the memory will also be a constraint.
    Other options i could think of
    * Hold the XML Document Object in memory until a certain event like timeout for receiving packet and write into the xml file at oneshot.
    * Serialize the objects containing the extracted packet content to a temp file and after some event, parse and create the xml file at oneshot
    Which is the efficient way or is there any design pattern to handle this situation? I am worried about the memory footprint and performance on peak loads
    I am planning to use JDOM / SAX Builder for xml creation.
    Thank you...

    Lot's of "maybe" and "I think" and "I'm worried about" in that question, and no "I have found" or "it is the case that". In short, you're worrying too much about problems you don't even know you have. XML is a verbose format anyway, efficiency isn't paramount when dealing with it. Even modestly powered machines can deal with quite a lot of disk I/O these days without noticeable impact. The most efficient thing you can do here is write something that works, and see if you can live with the performance

  • How to create new XML file using retreived XML content by using SAX API?

    hi all,
    * How to create new XML file using retreived XML content by using SAX ?

    Sax.endValidation();
    Sax.endDocument();
    Sax.endElement("", "basic-metadata", "basic-metadata");* In CreateXMLFile.java
    class, I have retreived the xml content in the meta_data object, after that i have converted into character array and this will be sends to SAX
    * In this case , the XML file created successfully but the retreived XML content added as an text in between basic-metadata Element, that is, retreived XML content
    is not an XML type text, it just an Normal text Why that ?
    * Please help me what is the problem in my code?
    Cheers,
    JavaImran

    Sax.startDocument();
    Sax.startValidation();
    Sax.startElement("", "pdf", "pdf", new AttributesImpl());
    Sax.startElement("", "basic-metadata", "basic-metadata", new AttributesImpl());

    Sax.characters(xmp_arr, 0, xmp_arr.length);
    </code><code>Sax.endElement("", "basic-metadata", "basic-metadata");</code>
    <code class="jive-code jive-java">Sax.endElement("", "pdf", "pdf");
    Sax.endValidation();
    Sax.endDocument();
    * I HAVE CHANGED MY AS PER YOUR SUGGESTION, NOW SAME RESULT HAS COMING.
    * I AM NOT ABLE TO GET THE EXACT OUTPUT.,WHY THAT ?
    Thanks,

  • Pass parameter through standard page "import xml content and actions"

    Dear Portal experts,
    As you know, a standard portal page is configured to allow the import of XML file. It is located in the portal in the path system admin -> transport -> xml content and actions -> import
    I configured a quick link u201Cimportu201D to the page so now the link http://myserver:port/irj/portal/import allows me to access directly to this screen.
    What I would like to do now is to pass the parameter related to u201Cfile nameu201D through this screen meaning that I would like that http://myserver:port/irj/portal/ import/filename=C:\test.xml  fills automatically the fields u201CXML fileu201D with  C:\test.xml
    Please do you know how to achieve this ?
    Thank you very much and regards

    hi,
    @Maksim :
    When user launch an URL like http://myserver:port/irj/portal/ import/*filename=C:\test.xml, he is requested to provide username and password; as this link is a shortcut for the upload xml page, there is a check of authorization and only portal admin that have authorization and permission on this page/iview will be able to upload xml file through the URL. Hope this clarify.
    @Kumar :
    thank you for your answer. What a pity to not be able to pass parameter through standard portal page/iview particularly knowing that we can pass paramater through many kinds of iviews (transactional iview, url iview, VC iview...). I explored some option on file com.sap.portal.ivs.init.par but this was unsuccessful. However, thanks to this [link bellow|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/ComponenttouploadXMLfilewithPCD+objects], I was able to upload through URL the XML file.
    The problem is that I can upload only XML file that are stored in the server not in the local user computer. My requirement is to be able to upload local XML file stored on user's computer.
    If someone could provide and idea/solution, I would be very grateful.
    Cheers
