0CALWEEK to be displayed in date format with start of week date

Hello everyone,
I have a requirement wherein I want to display 0CALWEEK info object in the cube in date format with start of week date in the Bex query report. For example if 0CALWEEK is 23.2005 then in Bex report it should display as 06.06.2005. Anyone got any ideas if we can achieve this without adding any additional info object in cube itself ?
many thanks,
Neeraj

Hi Neeraj,
There are multiple ways to achieve this.
1. Virtual characteristics. This approach still requires having a placeholder of 0DATE type in the query, but you don't have to populate it in your load. This could slow down you query as well.
2. Depending of the frontend you using you can run Excel macro (BEx) or Table exit (Web).
Please let me now if you need more details.

Gersh

  • Changing date format for some of the date columns in a subject area

    Hi,
I have a requirement to change the date format for some of the date columns to dd-mon-yyy for only a particular subject area. Is there a feature available in the RPD which can help me do this?
In Answers - Column Properties for a Particular column of a report, we can save the style and formatting as system wide default for the particular column or the data type, but that applies across subject areas.
I tried with the config files too , but that too applies to all suject areas.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Gaurav

Why don't you create 2 logical column derived from same date physical col and then change the format for one logical column and use it in Subject Area ?

  • How to display the info visually with the help of data present in the DB

I need to reserve a resource for a particular period of time,When i finished in

I need to give a report for the particular day by displaying the timing details visually( ie by shading the cell) in the table formatt
for example if I enter the resource name as printer and mention the start time (6:00)and end time(7:00)
Based on the specified time(ie start time and end time) for the particular resource which are present in the Database, The displaying table's cell
(the table that contains time in x axis, resource name in y-axis & each cell represent 1/2 hour )should be shaded. (ie 6:00 to 6:30 & 6:30 to 7:00 cells are to be shaded)
    hope u understand my problem
Plz help me in this regards....
    Thank u in advance

    Hi,
to display the header first append the header as the first record and then append your data.
to remove comma seperator use the following code:
replace all occurences of ',' with space.
    then condense.
and last u can download data to presentation and application servers at the same time using 'gui_download'  and  datasets.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Working with SAP Data Format yyyy.mm.dd in data services

    Hi,
I had 2 questions about date formats coming from SAP to DS .
    1) I am trying to convert date fieild from SAP that is formated to yyyy.mm.dd to mm/dd/yyyy but I am not having any luck .. I am using the to_date function when I run this below I get null values in my template table . I think it has to do with me not stating my input date format but cannot seem to get the correct syntax's any ideas ?
    2) Does Data Services recognize dates which are formatted as  yyyy.mm.dd ?? When I put  I added a column to a template table and added the sys date command it returned the sys date as yyyy.mm.dd BUT when I try a fiscal_day function (which should brings back the number of days between the input (my SAP source date ) and the sys date which are formatted the same (yyyy.mm.dd) I get a format error  (input parameter 2009.03.10 is not valid) .  any ideas ?
    Thanks for your time,
    Brett

    Hello Brett
to_date convert STRING to date based on input format.
As i understand your source data not in string format. Is this correct?
Use combination to_char->to_date for your transformation

  • Date format with alter session -- very urgent !!!!

The default format of date is DD-MON-YY.
I like to change as DD/MM/YYYY. So I tried to do so by going
through my login in SQLPlus and wrote
    ALTER SESSION
    SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD/MM/YYYY'.
The format got changed and there after every query displayed
date in dd/mm/yyyy format. But once I exit sqlplus and reenter
in sqlplus, the format goes away and the default date format i.e
    dd-mon-yy comes in existence.
I want to know, how can i make my date format permanent and too
    for all users.

    hello Khan,
You can set this format in 2 ways, one is
local setting and the other one is on server setting.
    Edit your c:\windows\oracle.ini (local setting)
or your init.ora (oracle server setting)
    and add this script
    SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD/MM/YYYY'
note: if there's no nls_date_format in oracle.ini, the server
nls_date_format in init.ora will be the current setting
    on your PC
    Hope this will help

  • Date formatting with java and axis

    Hi,
My wsdl file has date field which uses xsd:dateTime data type. In my web service implementation java class I am passing value to this variable using Calendar.getInstance().
I am using Axis framework. When I check my soap output using TCP monitor I find that the date is of format eg: 2007-01-02T12:01:23.342Z.
The date output belongs to GMT and includes character Z. How do I get SOAP output in locale specific date time format. I used xsd:dateTime along with format parameter but no use.
    Regards,
    Shankar

The date is wrong because I ran the test using october
20th data and my data showed up.
The actual test is from 9/1 to 10/19.This still doesn't tell me what you tried, what you expected, or what you got. If you use the timestamps that you mentioned in your earlier post:
    from: Wed Sep 01 00:00:00 CDT 2004
    to: Wed Oct 20 00:00:00 CDT 2004
then you will get all timestamps from Sept 01 to Oct 19, inclusive. You won't get any on October 20 except for 00:00:00. Was that what you expected or was it not?
I'm still guessing here, but possibly the timestamps in your database aren't in the same timezone as CDT. If they are GMT timestamps then you'll be off by, what is it, three or five hours?

  • Display archived citadel data mixed with "live" Lookout machine data using Hypertrend object?

Maybe a new feature request item?
It would be really nice if you could use a Hypertrend object in Lookout to plot historical data from an archived Citadel database.  So this would be a feature where you could connect an additional (or many) additional databases as machine processes in (read only mode of course).  This would allow mixing display objects (trends) of running processes along with display objects (trends) of archived "processes" in the same Hypertrend display when using Hypertrend in the historical mode.
The Lookout Hypertrend object is awesome and it is about time you folks gave Lookout some attention again to exploit its power and coolness.
    Thanks and Happy New Year!!

The hypertrend use Citadel service to transfer the data between computer, while the live data is different, so your problem is probably in networking setting or firewall.
If you have firewall on either computer, follow these KBs.
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0D7B86F4B4D19A5E86256F9A006EECB1?OpenDocument
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/8AE45BBFA1D7025E862570F200642FD8?OpenDocument
Lookout client software doesn't install MAX.exe, but if you have MAX.exe on the client computer, you can use MAX to check the connection. In MAX, try to view the remote trace.
You can also use the NI Hypertrend ActiveX object to check the connection. Create a client process with just a NI Hypertrend ActiveX object. Move it to client computer. Edit its properties and add a trace, then try to view the remote trace. See the attached screenshot. If the Citadel communication has problem, you will not see the database or the trace.
The ActiveX object doesn't fix the problem, but can tell you whether the remote connection is good or not.

This behaviour is documented in the Oracle Database 10g Globalization Guide; it also includes the steps on how to revert back to the Oracle 9i locale definitions.
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10749/applocaledata.htm#sthref1769
Please note that 10g is using the correct convention, the Oracle9i locale definition files will be desupported in a future release.

Error is because of invalid date format.
You need to bring data in required format. As I remember you can configured it in one of the AD configuration lookup.

    Put this in the page header to show the date parameters chosen for the report. Make sure you change the select expert for the date field to = ?{date field}
    "All Posting Dates Between "+ ToText(Minimum({?date field}),"M/d/yyyy")" and "ToText(Maximum({?date field}),"M/d/yyyy")

  • Why does the Canadian regional date format default to the US date format?

I've discovered that on the iPad, iPhone and MacBook that choosing the Canadian Regional format results in the US date format of mm/dd/yyyy rather than the Canadian format of dd/mm/yyyy. I can use a custom format on the MacBook (but why do I need to??) but can't see how to change under settings on my iPad and iPhone.
    -Bob.

In iOS8 anyone can now select the "Canadian English" regional setting and you will get dates in correct ISO 8601 YYYY-MM-DD format.  To confirm this is what you should use, check your Ontario Drivers License, OHIP health card or the bottom date on any federal gc.ca  webpage.  Yosemite is also the same. Thanks Apple, for having listened to Canada!

  • Problem in Date Format when user chages the date format in preferences

I want to generalize my code so that user can change what ever Date format he wants, I will get the date from the page in the format yyyy-mm-dd, and if the Date Format is
set to MM/dd/yyyy in prefernces i need to use MM/dd/yyyy and if the Date Format is set to dd-Mon-yyyy in prefernces i need to use dd-MMM-yy, so my question is how to know what Date format is set in the preference so that i can have all the possible date format for inserting the date
    Thanks
    Babu

    Babu,
The date format in OAF Pages is controlled by profile ICX: Date format mask. This profile can be set at site as well as user level for the individual users to set the Date format.
But I would advice not to go for setting different profile values at user level, because i remember some old threads, where seeded Oracle pages fail, as code their is not generalised to handle date formats.
If your are planning to have this in ur custom page, go ahead, but do check the entire flow is working fine for different values of this profile at user level.

  • LabVIEW created .DAT file with saving only new data on existing files

I can successfully create and save a .DAT file using LabView and Diadem.   The save command I am using (in Labview) only overwrites existing files, I would like it to save only the new data from the last save.  Overall I would like to save the data every 1hr and since my test will last for many hours, the further along in the test the longer it would take to save the full file.  I know Diadem has the capability to save in such a manner, so I have thought about after I write to Diadem have a small Diadem application save periodically, but I haven't found a way to save the .DAT file, with out any signals coming into the save function.  I have attached the example .DAT file creater and saver I am using to figure it out.  thanks for your help!

    Howdy New Guy -
I am not sure if you are looking to append to a file, or if you would
like to overwrite a file.  In either case, you can take a look at
the "Append To File.vi" example for DIAdem.
Either way, you may be experiencing problems because you are only using
the "DIAdem Simple File Write.vi" (found on the DIAdem >> DAT
Files palette).  Instead, you can use the "DIAdem File Write.vi"
(located on teh DIAdem >> DAT Files >> DAT Files Advanced
palette).  This VI can be set to overwrite or append to file.
I hope this helps in your development!

  • Date picker with auto today's date

    Hey,
I'm sure this has been asked and answered, but I couldn't find it in the search. I have a date/time field which is excellent for using the date picker to insert any date. But more often than not the form will use the current days date. Is it possible to have the Date/Time Field default to the date of the day the form was opened and STILL have the option of overwriting it with the picker?
    Thanks.

Try placing the below line of code in either of the Initialize/ Form Ready/ Layout Ready events..
    $.rawValue = Num2Date(Date(),"MM/DD/YYYY");
    Language is FormCalc..

  • Ipad wireless data package with pre-existing Verizon data plan

    Hello,
I have a question about the wireless plan for the ipad. If I purchase an ipad with verizon wireless carrier does that mean I have to create a
new verizon wireless account specific for the new ipad? Or can I somehow merge it with my pre-existing verizon wireless plan?
I have a data package plan of 4G for my phone and I was wondering whether I could share that available data usage with ipad.
I appreciate all your comments, thank you.

No, you can't share the data plan with your phone. Yes, you can have your iPad on the same account. It will have its own data plan but appear on the same bill.
