Hi I need show /input date format dd-mm-yyyy in paramters field type date when Crystal prompt parameter to user. I used Crystal 11 Can help-me ? thanks

Put this in the page header to show the date parameters chosen for the report. Make sure you change the select expert for the date field to = ?{date field}
"All Posting Dates Between "+ ToText(Minimum({?date field}),"M/d/yyyy")" and "ToText(Maximum({?date field}),"M/d/yyyy")

    Hello,
    You can still accept the date as it is, but you can convert the date in the report level with the folowing formulas when you pass the date to data base.
    DayFormula: ToText(Day(Date(yyyy-mm-dd)),0) output you get day eg:  DD
    MonthFormula: ToText(Month(Date(yyyy-mm-dd)),0)  output you get eg: MM
    Year Formula: ToText(Year(Date(yyyy-mm-dd)),0) output you get eg: YYYY
    DashFormula: "-"
    Now combine all
    CompleteDateFrmula= DateValue(& & & & {Year Formula})
    You can pass this

  • Problem of Date format in Parameter dialog box

    This problem happen In Crystal XI but not in version 8.5. When a parameter dialog box showing up it provides a calander for users to select a date. When the user select a date from the calander the prompt alway return a date in the format of (yyyy-mm-dd) regardless of whatever we set in the Windows's "Regional Settings". In our region we set date as dd-mm-yyyy.
    When we edit the date in the parameter field box to dd-mm-yyyy and click OK the prompt complains and says "the date should be in the format of "yyyy-mm-dd"". Why?. Could Business Objects or anyone let me know is there a way to edit option. In our regional our clients are used to with the date format of dd-mm-yyyy.

    With an IT professional or a computer expert it does not seem to be a matter as they understand this is just another way to write date but many of our clients already used to with the dd-mm-yyyy and they are not American. If you say this was by design howcome in CR 8.5 the date in this dialog box follows the format in the regional settings. In CR 8.5 when you change date format in regional setting it reflect immediately in the parameter box. Asume what you say is true I would like to ask Business Objects that this is a backward development or just a way to purse every one in this world to follow the American style.
    Come back to the parameter box. Our clients have used our software that uses CR 8.5 for many years. Not all but many of them just type in the date directly to the box. If this can't be fixed how will our support staff tell our customers? I would like to hear something from Business Objects.

  • Translate date format for parameter or suppress format hint at all?

    I have a report with a parameter of type date. When running the report, a parameter prompt is displayed (in German):
    Startdatum
    Geben Sie das Datum im Format "dd.mm.yyyy" ein.
    Because "dd.mm.yyyy" is not German, is it possible to either translate it into "tt.mm.jjjj" or to suppress the format hint at all?

    You did not say what version of Crystal you are using. I never had this happen in v10 or earlier, nor in 2008.
    I have heard that XI handles dates oddly. If you do us XI of what ever version, do a search on the forum. There have been several posts regarding the date format.

    Its been a while since my last post the question.
    I have one question.
    I have this PO_ID field. Example of the data:
    1. 72998
    2. FF15376
    3. 71794R
    4. WSSC 092008/0004
    5. WC/ 092008/0290
    6. MP20080911-1187
    There are a lot of style or non fix data format inside PO_ID field.
    My question is how can I choose only PO_ID type no.1 (72998) only show in the webi?
    Filtering is one way but what about formula or variable or any other method?

    Of course there is more than one way to skin a cat.  Here are a couple of ways:
    =if(substr[Po_ID];1;1) inlist ("0";"1";"2";"3";"4";"5";"6";"7";"8";"9");"Number";"Not a number")
    =if(substr[PO_ID];1;1)>="0" and substr([Po_ID];1;1)<="9";"Number";"Not a number")
    Personally I have more confidence in the first example, but the second example may work reliably.  It's just that I've used the first method more often...

  • Invalid date format for 'Created' field in the getVersions web service Response.

    I am trying to get all versions for selected document by calling getVersions method Versions.asmxweb service, but getting ‘Created’ date attribute value is in the format "29-05-2012 12:01"
    but I am expecting either one of the following date formats.
     1.      yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss  or  yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ssz
     2.      MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm a   (a means AM/PM)
     3.      MM/dd/yyyy
     4.      yyyyMMdd HH:mm:ss
    where do I need to change?
    what are all the formate will be support by SharePoint?

    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to change date format for ‘Created’ field in the getVersions web service.
    Per my knowledge, you can get the date format for ‘Created’ field as “MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm a”.

    You can set default value to custom field thru Lookup table. Assign lookup table to custom field and set default value to some lookup value (Note: check the “Choose a value to use as a default when adding new item” checkbox).

  • Date format(for number fields)

    Hi there.
    I'm creating some sql queries wich will be executed by some users throught the Oracle client PL/SQL, and I need to format some fields in date format.
    Those fields are NUMBER(8) and they are in that format: "YYYYMMDD"
    The format I want to put that information is: "DD.MM.YYYY".
    What's the easiest way to do that?
    The version that I'm using is Oracle 9.2.0.4.0.

    Hi,
    Use TO_CHAR to convert the number to a string,
    use TO_DATE to convert the string to a date, then
    use TO_CHAR to format the date.
    TO_CHAR ( TO_DATE ( TO_CHAR ( numeric_column
                                , 'fm00000000'
                      , 'YYYYMMDD'
            , 'DD.MM.YYYY'
            )This shows why storing dates in some other kind of column is a bad idea.

  • Changing date format for some of the date columns in a subject area

    I have a requirement to change the date format for some of the date columns to dd-mon-yyy for only a particular subject area. Is there a feature available in the RPD which can help me do this?
    In Answers - Column Properties for a Particular column of a report, we can save the style and formatting as system wide default for the particular column or the data type, but that applies across subject areas.
    I tried with the config files too , but that too applies to all suject areas.

    Why don't you create 2 logical column derived from same date physical col and then change the format for one logical column and use it in Subject Area ?

  • 0CALWEEK to be displayed in date format with start of week date

    Hello everyone,
    I have a requirement wherein I want to display 0CALWEEK info object in the cube in date format with start of week date in the Bex query report. For example if 0CALWEEK is 23.2005 then in Bex report it should display as 06.06.2005. Anyone got any ideas if we can achieve this without adding any additional info object in cube itself ?

    Hi Neeraj,
    There are multiple ways to achieve this.
    1. Virtual characteristics. This approach still requires having a placeholder of 0DATE type in the query, but you don't have to populate it in your load. This could slow down you query as well.
    2. Depending of the frontend you using you can run Excel macro (BEx) or Table exit (Web).

  • Getting Error with date parameter field -"Invalid DATE"

    I created a report with 9.2 version. And  i created 2 date parameter fields in it. And within crystal reports it works fine.
    But If, I call from the VS2005 crystalreport.net(report document) SDK , i am getting error as Invalid Date" enter a Date Value". Actually it is a dtp control. how can i modify it.

  • Date format for parameter data entry

    I've just started working on MS SQL Server 2008 for the first time and am using Crystal XI11.5.  I have a date parameter used to pick data.  It works fine but the users are used to entering dates in mm/dd/yyyy format but this parameter forces users to enter using yyyy-mm-dd.
    Normally I am not too concerned as there is the calendar but I have a couple of keyboard users who would like to just enter in the date format they are used to.   I can't find any spot in Crystal to change the data entry format for the dates.
    I do understand that SQL Server does store dates in yyyy-mm-dd format so is this why I only have this option?  Any way to change it?  I do have dates in the report presenting in d-MMM-yyyy format without problem, it's just the date entry prompt.

    The later versions of CR will not allow you to directly edit the SQL statement. You actually have to add a Command and remove the tables from the data source. You can, if you wish, copy the SQL from the "Show SQL Query" and paste it into the Command.
    The reason I tried to delete my previous comment is because it dawned on me (after I made the comment)  that the date picker control itself, won't accept any format other than YYYY-MM-DD.  So, while you can write the SQL to accept a variety of date formats, you won't be able use any of them while using that control.
    The CR date picker control can be found (and therefore replaced by someone w/ more guts than me) in the following locations...

    hello
    I want to copy one table data into another table having long data type but it gives
    me error like
    SQL> insert into temp select * from temp1;
    insert into temp select * from temp1
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00997: illegal use of LONG datatype
    both of the tables have long type field but it gives error in log type data transfer
    can somebody help me

    LONG datatypes cannot be used for Insert with selects or CTAS.
    If the maximum length of the long datatype column is less than or equal to 4000 then you can use
    SQL> insert into temp select col1, col2, dbms_metadata_util.long2varchar(4000,'TABLE_NAME','COLUMN_NAME',rowid) Column_alias from temp1;
    If the maximum length of the long column is greater than 4000 then you can use
    SQL> insert into temp select col1, dbms_metadata_util.long2clob(40000,TABLE_NAME','COLUMN_NAME',rowid) Column_alias from temp1;

  • EasyDMS - search by date range for characteristics of type date

    Hi Folks,
    I have a characteristic of type date in the additional data of a DMS document. If I enter the date (for example validity date) as 08/31/2009 and search using cv04n and give a date range for the characteristic (i.e. 01/01/2009 - 12/31/2009), the search result will bring up the document.
    However, I cannot do this from the EasyDMS find function. I need to specify an exact date. This is not very helpful for user who need to find documents with a validity date between 01/01/2009 - 12/31/2009 for example. Is there a way users can search for date range in EasyDMS find function?

    To search a date range with EasyDMS Client you have to set the registry key
    \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\EasyDms\Generel\DateSearchPick to Value 0
    Then you can use the input field like in SAP-Gui. (01.01.2009-31.01.2009)
    If you set the value to 1 or the key is not defined you can only search for one specified date.
    If you don't find this key on your PC create it as dword.
    Maybe you must restart you PC for takeing effect.

  • OA FRAMEWORK DATE FORMAT IS CONFLICTING WITH PERSONAL DATE FORMAT IN APPRAI

    We are using Self service appraisals forms and added a field using oa framework personalizations. The field is available in the View Object and is mapped to an Attribute (DFF) field. The created item is of style Message Input Text with datatype DATE. This generates a small calendar icon right beside the field. On clicking the icon a calendar window pops up and a date can be selected. The date is inserted in the field in the format 23-Sep-2008. My personal preferences (equal to site preference) state that the date format should be DD-MON-YYYY. When I press continue in the appraisal form the date in the field is automatically changed in 2008/09/23. This obviously causes a validation error (screen popup). When I change my personal preference date format to YYYY/MM/DD everything works fine. However, we do not want to use date format YYYY/MM/DD. What setting determines the date format used for validating by OA Framework pages?

    Thank you for your answer. First of all I am a functional consultant using basic personalization functionality to modify the layout of the standard forms and to enable the display of some of the descriptive flexfield attributes (you are correct) we activated on the competence elements entity. I encounter a problem with the dateformat and the fact that it is changing.. Can you be more precise in telling me where to look for format changes? Note that I do not have access to tools like JDeveloper and decided is that we cannot customize/add/substitute VOs.
    CompetenciesCO and AssessmentsAM are the Controller and Application module involved using VO CompetenceElementsVO. (I try to insert a date value in Attribute2).
