100% Height Sidebar, with scrollable content.

Hello - I am having difficulting getting the desired effect on a website I am currently developing.  The code/site can be viewed here:
http://www.innosparkllc.com/client_websites/woodlands2/index.html
The point of concern relates to the sidebar.  As you'll see, via the link, I have an img (tree trunk) as the background.  The image is currently part of the HTML, not CSS.  The sign/logo, contact form, and tree are all 'fixed' position.  For many screen sizes, this works great, no concerns.  However, for smaller screen sizes, some of the contact form get's cut off.  For example, on my 13" MacBook, I am unable to use the form, because the 'submit' button is not visible.
What I want to do is this:
Tree trunk background always fills 100% of the browser height.  I want the content to scroll up and down, along with the tree, when the screen size is such that content would otherwise be cut short.
Hopefully I've explained thoroughly, and that the link provided further clarifies.  I've done many google searches, but am having problems coming up with a solution.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  • Content not lining up in the sidebar with the content located in the main area?

Hello, I’ve created a website using Dreamweaver CS4 and have come across an issue while using a template. The template I’m using is: 2 column fixed, right sidebar, header and footer. The problem seems to be in the sidebar where the content does not start at the top, it seems to be about 15px below the content in the main area. I can't find any CSS or any reason why it's starts where it does. It seems to look like even and as it should in Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari but not in IE9. The page is live at www.Lots2Homes.com and you'll see the content is lower in the right sidebar than in the main area to the left. The code for the home page and CSS is below. This has me going in circles, any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

For starters, consumer prices fell in October, meaning low wage workers and others struggling to make ends meet will find more affordability...

  • Problem with scrollable content in cs6

    hi out there
well since i while i'm using the cs6 to create folios. now i have a problem i didn't have in cs5.5. if i create a scrollable content ("durchlaufbarer rahmen" in german) in the folio overlays i can't navigate on the area where this element ist placed. if i place a full screen scrollable content on one page and open the folio on the ipad i'm stuck at this page...
...hope someone out there knows a way to fix this problem.
    thanks - alex

So there is a way to retain the PDF version of an article with this?
I've tried adding an MSO over a scrolling area of text (separate from the frame, but still on top of it), and I've also tried placing it within the scrolling frame.
    Neither of these worked.
Is there something I'm missing? What specifically allows this workaround to work? I'd love to include some full page scrolling content without making the viewer get stuck on one scrolling page in the middle of the document.

  • Problems with Scrollable Content : colored lines appear

    Hello,
We have a book with several Scrollable Content (around a total of 200).
The fact is that in many colored lines appear. These lines appear i disappear when changing article,
    anyone have any solution?
    THANKS

    Hi
I had the same problem. I had pasted the scrollable content directly into the container frame, but the pasted content was slightly 'taller' than the container window (the pasted object group was maybe 0.012 pixels larger than the container, so very slight) this caused it to display the coloured lines when I moved it up or down, although left and right movement worked fine. Resizing so the pasted content was smaller and exact pixels not 0.123 px (or the same size) as the container fixed it.

  • 100% height table with bg image

I need to have a table that is centred and fills 100% height only in the browser. In it will be a background image. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I need to do it as soon as possible as the client has just changed their mind after I completed the job.

Code below, taken from link below, if youre inclined to want to read about how to do it:

  • In the vertical page with scrollable content, i can´t swipe to next article. why?

in the vertical version of the page with one scrollable content frame, i can´t swipe to next article. the scrollable content frame has in both versions the exact size of the page. in the horizontal version this works perfectly. Used folio builder v22, pdf and smothscrolling off.
Message was edited by: lost in dps

Thanks for the answer. But i found out, that it was my fault. A status of an object was outside the scrolling content frame. But thank you for the possibilty to ask questions.

  • Dynamic height in a table with scrollable content

    Hello,
i have in a web dynpro a table. The table is scrollable. At present i have a fixed height. Is it possible that i have a dynamic height, so that the table for example has a height of 70 percents from the page.
I try that but it doesn't work. Have any one a solution or is it not the supported in web dynpro's?
    best regards
    Markus Jura

    Markus,
There is no way to define height of table in percents of parent container. You may only manipulate number of visible rows. For example, bind corresponding IWDTable property to context attribute of type int and change value of this attribute dynamically (in wdDoInit and/or action handlers code)

    any ideas?

Yes, I suggest you do a search of the forum, or just look to the right column on this page for "more like this".  You should be able to come up with postings by other people who have had the same problem, as well as some possible solutions.

  • Can an i-frame resize the page height and itself with new content?

I built a website in Adobe Muse and embedded a blog within an i-frame on the portfolio page of the site here...
    http://dannyhardakervideo.co.uk
This approach was taken because the client needed the ability to keep  adding videos to the portfolio section of the site themselves  indefinitely and
i was short on ideas to implement that functionality  with Muse. I've now exported the code as HTML to Dreamweaver to see what I can achieve there.
Using Dreamweaver, Is it possible for the page height and i-frame height to resize with new  content as more videos are added to it? Is there some script I can  add to the page?
    Is there a better solution?
    PLEASE HELP.

Ordinarily, Iframe re-size scripts will only work when the parent page (with iframe) and the external page (blog) both reside on the same domain.   However, someone came up with a cross domain solution which requires you to put jQuery scripts on both sites.  NOTE:  I've never tested this.
    https://github.com/davidjbradshaw/iframe-resizer
IMO, a cleaner solution is to use scripts to parse the blog's RSS feed into the main site.  You can use PHP code from FeedForAll or jQuery's jFeed plugin.

  • Create an image with 100% height?

    Hi,
I am working on a project and require an image to stretch to
the full height of the table cell.
The width will be fixed at 40 pixels, but I require the
height to always be 100% of the cell.
I have tried simply adding the height tag as 100%, but this
proves inconsistent in various browsers. Is there a way in which I
can achieve this, so it will work consistently on all browsers and
    platforms?
    Many thanks

Make it a background image and let it tile to fill the space.
    Or just use
    an HTML color background.

  • 100% Height with Parallax Scrolling?

I have an anchor point style parallax scrolling, I was wondering if I could have 100% height of my slideshow or image background when i maximize my screen, as you can see their is a white space below it that I do not like

    Hi,
As of now, Muse does not offer the option of 100% height objects. You can use the fullscreen slideshow widget if you want the image slideshow across your complete page.
Also, Please post this as a feature request at Ideas for features in Adobe Muse
    Hope this helps

  • CSS layout - how to get 100% height

I'm starting with a Dreamweaver template (2 column elastic,
left sidebar, header and footer). It's set up in CSS so that there
is a div container with a few other divs inside it. I want 100%
width and height. In the CSS for the container, I added width: 100%
and height: 100%. Width is now 100%, but height is not responding.
This is the only code I changed from the original template.
Any idea how to get my height to 100%?
    Thanks!

    Google "Faux columns".

  • How do I repeat image 100% height in a box within the template

I have built a new template that already has a background image behind the content area.  This background image is 100% width and height.  Now I have made the header area, the content area and the footer area.  What I am needing some help with is:  I want to have a box behind the content area that continues into the footer.  In that box I want a repeated background pattern that continues regardless of the amount of content in the content area.  I know how to do this using tables and code, but I can't seem to figure it out in MUSE.  I have added the box, added the repeated verticle image, but it won't expand downward 100% height.  It just stops at the height of the box that was built in MUSE and then the repeated background stops too...  Can someone explain to me how to do this properly?  It's all I have left and then this site template is complete.
    Tom

Can you elaborate please.  I have built a template (or master page) with this box in it and it starts just below the line of the header and extends to the bottom of the page. It has a repeated verticle image inside it.  What happens though is that I build a page and assign the master to it, add a content box into the page for text and images.  If the content extends downward past the original size of the master page box height, the box will not extend itself with the height needed for the content.  IE:  if the box is 600px high in the master and then the content is 1000 px high, the box will not expand to the 1000 px height and instead stop at the 600 px height.
Is there a tutorial with this in it somewhere?  I have build numerous MUSE sites both small and large and have yet to do this repeatable background pattern behind just the content area separate from the background image itself.
    Thanks for your help.
    Tom
