1000 px div changes size as I add content elsewhere on the page

Hi IE Folk,
I have a 1000 px wide div and as I add content elsewhere on the page it changes in size a little (say about 5%).
Is this correct / expected  / normal behavior ? 
Should a 1000 px div always occupy EXACTLY 1000 pixcels on screen ?
I also notice that with Zoom set to 100% on both IE and on Chrome that the image is smaller on the screen in Chrome ?  Why is that and shouldn't they be the same ?

    Add an image to any page in the section, then drag it where you want it to appear on each page.
    Reduce the opacity using the slider in the Style pane of the Format inspector to change the object’s transparency.
    Choose Arrange > Section Masters > Move Object to Section Master (from the Arrange menu at the top of your computer screen).

    Option 1. Terminal.app If you are comfortable using Terminal.app, you can add a different keyboard shortcut this with one simple line. First, quit all your apps except Finder and Terminal. Then paste this command (as one line) into Terminal.app (and press Return):

    Aside: After you enter the 'defaults write' command, you will not see any confirmation that it was entered correctly. Terminal.app is a little terse sometimes. If you want to verify it from the command-line, enter this:
    defaults read -globalDomain NSUserKeyEquivalents
    and look for "Save As..." = "@$s"; in the output.
    Option 2. System Preferences.app If you would rather not use Terminal, it's still very easy to add the keyboard shortcut.
    Launch the System Preferences.app, then open the "Keyboard" preference pane.
    At the top you will see "Keyboard" and "Keyboard Shortcuts" – click "Keyboard Shortcuts" (labeled '1' below). Then in the list on the left side, click "Application Shortcuts" (labeled '2' below). Then click the "+" button (labeled '3' below):
    Once you press that "+" button, a small window will appear asking you to enter the title of the menu item and the keyboard shortcut that you want to use.
    Enter "Save As..." in the "Menu Title:" field, and then press the keyboard shortcut that you want to use. In the example below I pressed Command + Shift + S:
    Note: It used to be true that you had to enter an actual ellipsis (which you can get by pressing Option+ ; on a US-English keyboard). However, when I tested this in Mac OS X 10.8.2, it worked with three consecutive periods.
    Bonus Tip: Hide the "Duplicate" menu item.
    In my original article I suggested that you also enter a keyboard shortcut for "Duplicate" and while youcan do that if you wish, you do not need to do that.
    However, if you would like to hide the Duplicate menu item, you can do that. There are two steps: first, remap "Save As..." to Command + Shift + S (as shown above). Then the 'trick' is to remap "Duplicate" to Command + Shift + Option + S.
    What you will have done is swap the keyboard shortcuts for "Duplicate" and "Save As..." which means that OS X will make "Duplicate" the optional command. If you open the "File" menu and hold down "Option" the "Save As..." command will change to "Duplicate"

    Important Addendum: "Keep changes in original document"
    As we reported in August 2012, the "Save As..." command in early versions of 10.8 had an unexpected and likely unwanted side effect in Mountain Lion: it would save the changes in the new document (created by "Save As...") but would also save the changes to the original document.
    However, Apple realized that users might not want that behavior, so in Mac OS X 10.8.2 they added an option "Keep changes in original document" which you can see here:
    Option A: If you want to save the changes you've made in the document and then save the document with a different name, then make sure that the box is checked.
    Option B: If you want your original document to stay as it was when you last saved it and create a new document based on the modified content of that document, then make sure that box is not checked.
    If you do not see the 'Keep changes in original document' box, then the application is probablygoing to give you the "Option B" behavior, but if you are not sure, I would suggest choosing Cancel in the "Save" dialog, then copy and paste the contents of the document into a new file, and save the new file. I know that's several extra-and-less-convenient steps, but if you are worried about preserving the original document, better safe than sorry.
    You could also save the file, duplicate it in Finder, and rename the new instance. Open old file and revert to previous save using 'Versions'.
    Frankly,I wish that Apple had just left the "Save As..." command alone, but for some reason they didn't ask my opinion. That said, I'm glad that they brought it back in Mountain Lion. I would have paid $20 for that feature alone.

  • "OracleBI Spreadsheet Add-In" – bug on the page items

    I detected that "OracleBI Spreadsheet Add-In" has a bug on the page items. It occurs when I have more than one page item. What happens is that all the page items (except the first), don’t permit to select other values. This is, I can click in the ComboBox, I can see the values that the ComboBox contains and I can select a value of the ComboBox. When I select other value, the add-in executes the query (it refreshes the sheet), but the value of the combo is not modified, and the values of the facts aren’t also modified. (The query that is done is the same)
    But if I change the layout, and put the page item in the first position, the value of the ComboBox is modified and a new query is executed.
    I am using only ROLAP cubes.
    The version of the database is 10.1.0.4.0.
    I did an upgrade from 10.1.0.2.0 to 10.1.0.4.0.
    The version of "OracleBI Spreadsheet Add-In” is:
    Release 1 version 10.1.2.0.0 - (build 10.1.2.0.36)
    When is done a new version of "OracleBI Spreadsheet Add-In”, without this bug?

    The metadata is ok according to “Oracle Enterprise Manager Website”.
    The version of Excel that I use is:
    Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (11.5612.5606).
    But is very stranger that the first page item works perfectly and the others have a bad behaviour, isn’t it?

  • How do I add content types in the Applications section under Preferences

    I have several applications I use regularly on multiple macs. For specific file types, Firefox 4 will only give me the option to save the file. It does not allow me to select an app to use, and, the file type is not listed in the Content Type list on the Applications tab in Preferences.
    In particular, I have XLS associated with Excel, but XLSX is not listed, so all I can ever do is save it, then open it.
    Another case, on one mac, PDF is associated with Preview, but it is not listed on the other, so again, all I can do is save it. It doesn't allow me the option to change actions.
    There must be a place to change the default behavior for unknown file types, isn't there?

    Hi! I'm doing a cv template for my company so that Human Resourses can send to candidates. I made the form and I have  a page for the "professional experience" area. This page is enough for a recent graduated student but not for a senior candidate (that has more experience). Can I insert a "ADD" button on this page where it creates a reset copy of the "professional experience" page where the candidate could add more professional experience? Thanks

    Yes, by using JavaScript to create a new page by spawning a template page. The downside is that is will only work with Reader 11 (and Acrobat) and not previous versions of Reader. It also won't work if you need to Reader-enable the document so that pre-11 versions of Reader can save the filled-in form. If these limitations are not a problem and you need more help, post again.

    i'm trying to create a button that will replace the current
    swf with another and i want the size to change between the various
    sizes of each page. i'm currently using the following code in the

You can't change size dynamically as it is defined by the
object embed tags.
You could use WMODE transparency which could help you fake it
tho not always best
solution to go with WMODE. It's a very buggy parameter.
WMODE will remove the background color so the flash movie
appear over the html and you
can see the HTML content trough the movie.
You could define some solid shape for the background on
bottom layer to make it look
like SWF background, than change it with the other loaded
movie making it appear as it
changed size while the over all flash size stats the same. As
said above - faking it.

  • Expected behaviour?: input controls change size with iterator in findMode

    Hi all
    I'm trying to work out if the following is expected behaviour with the JDev 11g ADF Faces RC input components or a bug, before lodging a support request.
    I've noticed that fields resize themselves based on the parent bound iterator being in find mode (as separate to the default execute (show) mode). This causes all sorts of havoc with page layout when switching between the 2 modes.
    To demonstrate the code I have a simple inputText control with a hardcoded column size, and a Find commandButton:

    I've recorded this following ScreenToaster session to show you the behaviour under Firefox. It's a standard search form dragged straight from the data control window. I haven't modified the columns attr at all, each component column is bound #{bindings.<fieldname>.hints.displayWidth}.
    Note when the Find button is pressed the fields change size to set defined width, then after the Execute button is pressed they go back to their dynamic sizes (presumably coming from the binding):

  • Is it possible to add a JSFF to a page programmatically without Task Flows?

    My use case is this: My application does not use task flows. If a value returned from the database is 0, I am creating a UIComponent and adding it to a PanelGroup on a page. If the value returned is 1, I need a way to programatically add a JSFF to the page. So, that means I cannot define the JSFF on the page with a <jsp:include... />.
    The closest solution I have found so far is to use af:declarativeComponent, but when attempting to create this component via the ADF Faces API, I find that there is a method for getViewId, but not for setViewId, meaning I cannot add the JSFF to the declarativeComponent and in turn add the DC to the PanelGroup.

    I stand corrected on utilizing a Task Flow. After some learning on my end, Task Flows and Regions appear to be a solution for my requirement.
    I created a dynamic task flow (jsff), dropped it on the jspx page to create a region and it executed successfully.
    Now that I know drag and drop works for this task flow, I am attempting to add the region to the page at runtime. Here is the code I am using:

    UPDATE: Copy/paste error. EL needed to be #{bindings.dynamicRegion1.regionModel}, not #{bindings.taskflowdefinition1.regionModel} (copied from example). Now I have encountered an additional error, which I believe may reveal I have reached a dead end:

    Here i explain you clearly,
    Business Scenario:
    Using an aplication we will create word documents-To do this we need to fill all the document properties and click on OK button-After this,Application automatically launches a Word Document with the File name given by itself as per the Configuration and
    it will be available for the Editing-After user add content,he has to check in the document in the application in order to replicate the changes made by user to the document-This is the Business process
    Here my Document actually resides in the Users Folder-"C:\Users\narayanasamy_r\Documentum\Checkout\" before checkin event happened,once i add content,save,close the document,i will navigate to the document in the application  and Do check-in
    operation.
    Interesting point is that,after i do check-in operation my actual document which was resided in "C:\Users\narayanasamy_r\Documentum\Checkout\" will not be available anymore
    So My logic Should be,
    1.identify that particular Document from the Folder and add content,save and close(Note:i dont want to open the document from "word.application" control here, as the application itself opens up the Document)

    what you are doing incorrectly is
    trying to get the handle to the OAPageButtonBarBean.
    This is a named child of the parent bean(OAPageLayoutBean), and what you are trying to do is find it as a indexed child, this should give you a nullpointer excp in this line oapbb.addIndexedChild(cancelButton);
    since the handle should be null.
    to get the handle to OAPageButtonBarBean, use some like this
    pageContext.getPageLayoutBean().getPageButtons();
    and then add buttons to it.

    I have to display a water image, when the user trying to see print preview.
    I.e. on certain condition i need to print the water mark on the page .

    In the page, background picture i have added the image. But some how itu2019s coming for me in the foreground only. Where it was supposed to come as background picture.
    I have read some where only the grayscale type image only can come as background picuture.
    I have trying to upload grayscale type image, but its not allowing from se78.

    Yes you can add back ground picture based on a condition,
    Or you can dynamically decide which water mark shall appear based on a condition.
    You need to implement respective logic.
    In the INITIALIZATION of global data assign the image name that should prior appear.
    Later, in the CODE of a page, reassign the image name with respect to a condition. But make sure the assigning is done well before a new page is triggered else, that page would continue with the image you mentioned in the INITIALIZATION.
    Suppose the design such that, the page shall contain 10 items, with a image that varies with following page with same number of items.
    In the page, start a counter and track for the number records once the counter is 10, assign the image name.
    As soon as 10 records are printed, a page break is triggered and also a new image assigned to that page.

    Hello All,
    Please can someone recommend a solution for me. I would like
    users of a hobby-website (that I have yet to build) to be able to
    add content directly onto the website.
    Ideally there will be a little box for users to leave a
    description, make a rating, or write a review, and have this
    publish automatically to the website.
    Ideally users would have to be registered to do this.
    I am not a database expert and will create the website in
    html using dreamweaver cs3.
    Is there a solution that will give me this functionality?

    How did you create that content type? By default all the post gets saved in message content type and display in subject view. Have you tried to open each view ? if not then do so.
