11g p2 / bug - select in navigator from database offline object editor

It is no more possible to use the context menu "Select in Navigator" from the database offline object editor (a package body in my case). I got a message "Command not handled".
This appear in all my packages and body.
After restarting JDev and test again I got this message "Error encountered:
The Offline Database file is missing. Please recreate Offline Database "1" with the correct settings.
This object in file ADMINPROCTABLE.type will be unavailable."
Is it a way to correct this ?

I completely reinstall JDev and set it to use subversion ... that resolve the problem and i'm no more in a position to reproduce it.

  • Selecting the data from database and sending to users  using javamail

    how to select the records from database table in oracle and send automatically to users using javamail. I am able to send the txt msg. but dont know how to send the selected table data to users automatically.
    can anyone suggest how to write the steps with database connection to send msgs containing data to different users
    Thank You

    using JDBC..you want to
    1. create the connect
    2. open the connection
    3. query the table for the data
    4. loop through the resultset to retrieve rows of data
    5. do something with the data
    6. email the result
    once you have the data, it is up to you to determine the format to send to the user using JavaMail. It is easiest to send plain text
    here's a site that give code example (for all steps above relating to JDBC):

  • Urgent......  how to select few fields, from database table, (dynamic ita.)

    Dear all experts,
    I am able to populate all fields data from database table, using dynamic table creation.
    eg,
    SELECT *    FROM (w_tabname)    INTO    TABLE <t_itab>.
    where w_tabname is the table name given by the user, and t_itab is field symbol.
    but some requirement is like that i need to pick up only few fields, <b>which user will give at the runtime.</b>
    <b>I can</b> take those fields from file into any internal table,
    but the problem is that instead of <b>select *</b>, i need to put selected the fields given by user.
    i have tried with field symbol, it is not working (as per my knowledge.)
    do i need to create any structures dynamically ?
    Can anybody please help in this regards ?
    Your help will be surely rewarded with points.
    Waiting for reply..
    Regards
    Vinay

    Hi Vinay ,
    Adding to the below code , you can use some more fields in the select stmt as below:-
    REPORT ychatest.
    PARAMETERS : p_field1 LIKE dd03l-fieldname,
                             P_field2 LIKE dd03l-fieldname,
                             p_table LIKE dd03l-tabname.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS : <fs> TYPE STANDARD TABLE.
    SELECT (p_field1) (p_field2) ( FROM (p_table) INTO TABLE <fs>.
    Now p_field1 & p_field2  belong to the same table since you have give the user to enter only one table name.
    This should work fine.
    please try & let me know .
    Thanks & Regards,
    Daniel

    JDev hang ...just seem to do nothing ... when multi selecting offline database objects, right clicking, selecting Refresh[instance], jdev display an advice that changes will be lost and after still blocked with no visible operation (1% usage of the processors) in the computer.

  • TP4 / offline database / select in navigator failed

    Select in navigator from pl/sql editor failed to find the edited object into the navigator (from where it was opened).

    I just opened a pl/sql from offline database navigator.
    Do some edits in the editor. Save many times. Compile many times.
    Suddenly (no idea why), the context menu Select in navigator don't find the object anymore.
    This is only for package body. I don't have this problem with package specification.
    Same package body may be accessed without any problem at same time through outgoing subversion pending changes.
    The error message is PackageName was not found in Navigator.
    The window title bar context is correct.
    I have more than one schema in my navigator.
    I have two application workspaces and both have same project names.
    I have subversion to manage both workspaces.
    Hope this help.

    I'm not able to open existing use diagram and couldn't save activity diagram after i created them. So UML is not functional in this preview release.
    Is this knowns bugs ?
    Is some workarounds knows ?
    I need these diagrams very soon and would know if i have to create them in a another tools or it is a way to use JDeveloper for them.
    Thank you

    JDEV 11G TP3 [BUG]: Diagramming / Use Case & Activity  / open save
    I already sent my project files to Shay. I may sent them to you too if needed.
    I suspect the problem may be due by the fact i'm using two workspaces simultanously, both managed with subversion. I already detected in the same configuration that "Select in Navigator" from pl/sql editor doesn't find an edited file (loaded from the offline database navigator) in the offline database navigator because it was searching the same project but in the wrong workspace.

  • Getting  10th oldest  from database

    Getting the oldest persons name from a database is easy.
    SELECT name
    FROM database
    WHERE dob = ( SELECT MIN(dob) FROM database ) ;
    but how would you get the 10th oldest or 100th oldest
    Regards

    Hi,
    Because of you can have more than one with the same age in database, you need to use dense_rank() function :
    SQL> select name,age, rank() over(order by age asc) from age;
    NAME              AGE RANK()OVER(ORDERBYAGEASC)
    TOTO               10                         1
    TRUC               10                         1
    TITI               20                         3
    TUTU               20                         3
    SQL> With previous code, if I search the second oldest, I found nothing... also the following query can help :
    SQL> select name,age, dense_rank() over(order by age asc) from age;
    NAME              AGE DENSE_RANK()OVER(ORDERBYAGEASC)
    TOTO               10                               1
    TRUC               10                               1
    TITI               20                               2
    TUTU               20                               2

  • How to view data in tables by selecting the synonym from the database objec

    I could not figure out how to view data in tables by selecting the synonym from the database objects navigation tree. I had to first choose the synonym, view the details of the synonym to determine the table name, and then select the table from the database objects tree. Is this the only way available?

    This functionality currently does not exist. I don't see it on the 1.1 statement of direction either, so perhaps someone from Oracle can give some insight as to when this could be expected.

  • Update Model from database does not update Nullable Property -- Possible bug?

    Hi,
    I don't know if this is the correct forum.
    When updating Model from database seems does not update the entity nullable property.
    and it will not update the Default Value from the Backend (MSSQL) also.
    I am using VS2008 SP1 3.5EF, XP64Bit Machine.
    Thanks
    vb.net GUI

    maybe related..
    today.. i changed the PK size.. from char(10) to char(36)
    got many problems.. easy to fix...
    but some query stop working:
    Table1Record.Table2Reference.Load(); //i'm trying to load table2 from table1..
    throw this error: A relationship multiplicity constraint violation occurred: An EntityReference expected at least one related object, but the query returned no related objects from the data store.
    i get this error only when PK is greater than char(10)...
    with SQL profiler.. i saw that PK was truncated to char(10) :
    exec sp_executesql N'SELECT [... some fields...]
    FROM  [dbo].[Table1] AS [Extent1]
    INNER JOIN [dbo].[Table2] AS [Extent2] ON [Extent1].[NoTable2] = [Extent2].[NoTable2]
    WHERE [Extent1].[NoTable1] = @EntityKeyValue1',N'@EntityKeyValue1 char(10)',@EntityKeyValue1='a2164b14-e'
    (NoTable1 is the PK changed from char(10) to char(36))
    i'm working with VS.NET 2008
    so, i looked at Model1.Edmx... in notepad
    CSDL was not changed when i did the "Update Model from Database" !!!
    here is SSDL part:
            <EntityType Name="Table1">
              <Key>
                <PropertyRef Name="NoTable1" />
              </Key>
              <Property Name="NoTable1" Type="char" Nullable="false" MaxLength="36" />
    here is CSDL part:
            <EntityType Name="Table1">
              <Key>
                <PropertyRef Name="NoTable1" />
              </Key>
              <Property Name="NoTable1" Type="String" Nullable="false" MaxLength="10" Unicode="false" FixedLength="true" />
    Cool.. i found the prob.... but why ? and how to correct this ? manually change Model1.Edmx in notepad ??
    why the maxlength property is readonly in Model Browser pane ??
    what about VS.NET 2010 ?! same prob ??
    is it a bug or by design ?
    I hope this can help someone.. I spent a few hours on this prob

  • After Migrating from 10g to 11g Geeting problems with Guided navigations.

    After Migrating from 10g to 11g Geeting problems with Guided navigations and section navigations not working.
    And we are getting the following error <<odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW)>> where we have used navigations.
    In 10G we have Guided navigation Reports to display the Reports links and intermediate reports for conditionally displaying the Dashboard section(Reports) but after migrating to 11g Guided navigation reports and conditional reports are not working..
    We know that in 11g section navigation replaced with conditions and Guided navigation replaced with action link.. but
    do we need to recreate those reports in actions and condition or is there any work around avoid reworking.

    Hi Both,
    Thanks for the reply ...
    For Guided navigation we are getting like below error:
    Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
    For Conditional dashboard section we are getting like below error:
    "saw.aViewsToRefresh = [];saw.aViewsToRefresh['d:dashboard~p:1egt6il5utl0uu8n~s:3jsmgfs3c1r4tn7c~n:condition'] = true;saw.aViewsToRefresh['d:dashboard~p:1egt6il5utl0uu8n~s:nos5q43jvjmi643b~n:condition'] = true;"

    It's a classpath problem. Either you mistyped the class name, or you don't have the class in your classpath. I think Oracle's drivers come in db12.zip or db12.jar or some such. Whatever that jar or zip file is, it has to be in your classpath, but it's not.
    Or it is in your classpath, but you're in an appserver context where the classloader that the container provides for your app uses something other than the classpath variable. For instance, in tomcat, the jar file would be uder webapps/yourApplication/WEB-INF/lib I think.
