19 song playlist, itunes only pulls 9 songs

I've created 7 different playlists in itunes, no songs are duplicates in any of the lists. Each list has about 19 songs (all lists under 80 MB). I've followed the simple burning instructions in itunes, but when I play the newly burned CD I find that itunes only pulls 9-10 songs from each playlist. I'm getting no errors whatsoever, and all songs must be authorized because every song plays correctly. And it's not just pulling the first 10 songs, it's pulling them randomly--numbers 3, 8, 10, etc...makes no sense. Each playlist is a mix of imported songs from personal CDs and purchased songs and I've never burned a CD in itunes, so burning more than 7x isn't the issue. Any advice? I've wasted all 7 CDs plus a few more trying to troubleshoot.

That's not a feature of iPhoto.
You will need to either edit the files to the length you prefer with an Mp3 editor
Or
Use a Slideshow app that allows for cross fading sound and/or multiple audio trackes.
Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:
iMovie, on every Mac sold.
Others, in order of price: PhotoPresenter  $29
PhotoToMovie  $49.95
PulpMotion  $129
FotoMagico $29 (Home version) ($149 Pro version, which includes PhotoPresenter)
Final Cut Pro X $299
It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs. However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Pro X is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

How come I can't add a song to my playlists in itunes match? Is it me or itunes match? It keeps on coming up with a message " iCloud playlists can only contain songs from your iCloud music library. If you continue, the playlist will be removed from iCloud and will only be available on this computer"?
You must surely be able to add and subtract songs on specific playlist?

I fixed this issue (with help from tech support) and it involved several things.
After adding a song to iTunes, right-click on the song in iTunes and select "Update iTunes Match."
OR go to the iTunes menu-->Store-->Update iTunes Match.
Maybe that's the reason, it just hadn't updated to the cloud.
OR maybe it's not a high-enough bitrate file.   This happens to me because most of my tunes are home-recorded.
Sometimes converting to .mp3 or Create AAC version might work. (You do this with a right-click in iTunes, and then you will want to remove the original file from iTunes.)
There is an iTunes Preferences setting, under General Preferences called Import Settings.  Try setting it to AAC Encoder and iTunes Plus.   That (I think) causes imports to be slightly better quality.
Good luck!  The tech support person at Apple is requesting that a knowlege-base article be written about this.

  • How To Tell What Directories iTunes is Pulling Songs From

I don't have all of my mp3s in the my iTunes folder, but rather, I have them spread out among several foulders on several hard drives. Is there a way to tell what directories iTunes is pulling mp3 songs from?

If you want to look at more that one song at a time, export the selected playlist (or your entire library, if you want) as a text file. The path is in the last column.
If you like, open the txt file in a spreadsheet application (say, OpenOffice Calc). The columns are delimited by tabs.

I'm sorry to see that no one has answered this. I'm hoping Apple with reply to my support request, as I'm having the same issue. I really don't want to continue with iCloud at this point.

  • ITunes only plays one song at a time ... help please

All of my songs are checked, but iTunes only plays one song at a time. I can't figure out why. Any suggestions? It just started doing this.

You don't mean you want it to play multiple tracks at the same time, do you? Like where you would hit play and ALL the songs would start playing at the same time?
Or do you mean iTunes will only play one song then stop rather than going on to the next one?

  • Itunes only plays one song at the time

My Itunes plays only one song at the time. If I try to play the next one by pressing the "forward" button Itunes stops playing.
    What now????
    Geertvun

    Are the songs 'checked'?
iTunes only plays the next checked song when pressing the forward button.
To check/uncheck all songs, command-click on one of the checkboxes preceding the name of the song.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why is itunes only importing a few songs out of many in itunes music folder and then creating a new folder named "music" contianing those few songs?

This problem has come up after installing a new hard disk to replace a failed one.  I restored the music just fine but iTunes only recognizes a few of the song tracks and then creates a new folder within iTunes called "music"  that contains those few songs.  Tried deleting the .itl and .xml files and reimporting via "Add Library Folder" option with similar results.

  • When importing tracks from a CD to iTunes, only 10 of the 13 songs are imported or shown on the list. How can I import the missing three?

When importing tracks from a CD to ITunes, only 10 of the 13 songs are imported. How can I display and import the missing three? Thanks.

It depends on eaxactly what is wrong with the old laptop. If you're lucky the drive can be extracted and connected to a new computer to extract the data. Otherwise see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

My Iphone 5 says it has 7552 songs on it, however my iTunes only has 4125 on it. How do i get my phone to stop saying i have that many songs?

It seems to happen with songs that were purchased before synchronizing the new iPhone
I will tell you how I fixed it.
Note: I have iTunes in spanish so I will try to translate and figure out the commands that appear on ITunes in english. I will put my translations into brackets. English is not my native language. I will do my best.
    The workaround is:
1.- Dragg no working songs from iTunes to a folder on the hard disk. (Only for backup purposes)
2.- Deleted those songs from iTunes library.
3.- On the left panel in ITunes click on "Purchased" under the STORE option. All your purchased songs will appear on the right panel
4.- At the bottom and right there is the option : "Download Previous Purchases". Click there.
5.- Click on the option "Are not in my Library" (top right)
6.- The songs you deleted from iTunes will appear.
7.- Downloaded them again. (You have the option to download at the bottom right)
8.- Syncronize your iPhone and that's all.

  • TS1424 itunes only downloaded part of a song I purchased. How do I correct that?

itunes only downloaded part of a song I purchased. How do I fix it or get a refund?

Other people have been having similar problems with songs for a few days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting it from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • ITunes only imports part of a song

I've tried uploading two cd's today and it begins to import all songs fine.
Then when approx. half the songs are imported, iTunes only imports a few seconds of each remaining song. I can end up with anything from1 second of a song to 2 minutes of a song that should be 4 minutes long.
I've run diagnostics and it passed all the tests, so I don't know what to do now?
ps I have the latest version of iTunes.

It is a bug. Some folks have found that putting the import settings on WAV corrects the problem. After you verify the WAV files are complete, you can convert to your preferred format.
If that does not help and you are tired of fussing with it, rip your CDs in another program, e.g. Windows Media Player, and add the resulting MP3s to your iTunes library.

  • ITunes only updates 5-30 songs at a time

I have a 60gb 5G iPod, with latest versions of updater and iTunes. Each time I connect the iPod, iTunes only syncs a few songs, before ceasing (there is no error message). I then have to instruct the iPod to update again, before the same thing happens.
Can anybody shed any light on my pain? Thanks.

sorry, i didn't mean it to sound that ominous.
it's just that i also associate the I/O errors with a
    flaky USB 2.0 connection.
hmmmm. even though you don't have a Toshiba, try
seeing if you can get a better connection if you
switch off the high-speed interfaces, using the
instructions from the following document. let's
not restore the ipod, we're just checking to
see if you can get a better connection going for a
song transfer with those interfaces disabled.
iPod not recognized correctly on Toshiba
    laptop
(i've seen this work a reasonable number of times
with Dell laptops, and at least once with a Vaio.)
Success!! Many thanks for your help.
I've now managed to sync the entire itunes library, plus my photos in one go. Seemed to take an awfully long time (several hours for around 25gb of music), but I'm not too concerned as I now have a fully functioning ipod!
    Cheers.

  • My audio stops outputting after a few songs in a playlist - itunes says its still playing, stopping and starting track recommences audio output.  Mac book Pro Lion 16gb ram

My audio stops outputting after a few songs in a playlist - itunes says its still playing, stopping and starting track recommences audio output.  Mac book Pro Lion 16gb ram.  Can be any song, any time, same song will play if I select it again.  Bit of a bummer itunes is the main thing I use (macbook pro jukebox).

Most likely culprit is your Lacie drives which are notorious for flaky power supplies which cause just the sort of erratic behaviour that you describe. Have had similar issues myself. Lacie has been good about replacing my power converter-- twice. If you have seven of them, good luck finding the bad one or more. Like I said, the behaviour is erratic. Sometimes it'll work sometimes not. I can't comment on Samsung drives because I've never used them and have never heard anything about them. Same with Softraid. Why not just use Disk Utility. Sounds like you're ready for an external hardware raid. This will be much faster, much more reliable, and may even be cheaper than seven firewire drives. Check out G Tech, and Maxx Digital for starters.
    Best of luck

  • HELP iTunes only shows 500 of my 2500 song collection

I have both a windows and just bought a g5. Burned all my music from my win and drag and droped the music files into itunes music file. Itunes only processed, shows 500 of my songs. I've tried to play the other songs that are not in the library, add them to the library, everything, and nothing is happening. Only processing the songs that are already in the library. I also made all files into read/only mode as well, didnt changed anything.
This is a huge issue with me, and may be a reason to rid myself of a all apple products.. so help is greatly appreciated.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.
