2.2.1 problem with "request contained within expression 1"

If you create validations, processes with the above condition set and have possible request values which are subsets of each other then the smallest subset seems to match.
ie create a validation which has the following condition
request NOT conained with expression 1.
RELOGIN, SAVE
if you then submit the page with value of LOGIN the validation will not fire
if you change the RELOGIN value in the condition to say RELOGI (anything which LOGIN is not a subset of) the validation will now fire!

I am not disputing in anyway that the code is wrong, once it had been explained how the code was intended by the apex developers to work.
My original point was the intuitiveness of the condition label and the way the logic actually behaved (at this point there was little known about the logic). I had instinctively assumed that when verifying that the REQUEST value exists within expression 1 it would be doing a pl/sql type IN (A,B) comparison hence the confusion. (would be interesting to know if i was the only one under this impression)
I still believe that intuitively developers (us the wider community not the apex team)when refering to the REQUEST value in a condition would list the required values under the expectation of an exact match. Hence my later post stating that for the REQUEST value it would be more useful to have a comma delimited list. I was debating (probably badly) the expected behaviour of the condition and not the actual logic delivered.
After your latest post there is a good case for both..
This kind of matching against the REQUEST value is useful when you have buttons with similar values(something i hadn't thought of as i usually list all required values just to be safe)

Conditional Processing: Request is Contained within Expression 1

I believe I have found a bug with the Process Conditional Processing logic, where "Request is Contained within Expression 1" is used.
Here are three of the buttons that I have on my page:
GET_RES_CIVIC_ADDR - This button is displayed among the Region Items (Region 2)
CRE_RES_CIVIC_ADDR - This button is displayed among the Region Items (Region 2)
ADD - Automatically created as part of a Tabular Form (Region 3 - Updateable Report).
I have a process that is conditional on either GET_RES_CIVIC_ADDR or CRE_RES_CIVIC_ADDR being run (meaning the Process has its "Conditional Processing" "Condition Type" set to "Request Is Contained within Expression 1" and where "Expression 1" is set to "GET_RES_CIVIC_ADDR,CRE_RES_CIVIC_ADDR" (without the quotes).
The problem I have encountered is that this Conditional Process also gets run if I submit the ADD Button. The reason being is that the word "ADD" is contained within the Expression 1 string "GET_RES_CIVIC_ADDR,CRE_RES_CIVIC_ADDR".
Note that if I change the REQUEST value for these two Item Level Buttons to names that do not contain the word ADD, the problem is fixed.
Is this a known bug? Or do I have to edit the value of Expression 1, so that each Button Name/Request Value is enclosed in quotes or the like?

I was under the impression that the values in Expression 1 would be a list of comma delimited values (e.g. A,B,C and not ABC) and would be evaluated individually. However, you are correct. It is being evaluated as advertised.
A note for others that have this problem - the evaluation of :REQUEST is Case Sensitive, so if the Item Level Button had been named 'Get_Res_Civic_Addr' (using Camel Case) instead of 'GET_RES_CIVIC_ADDR', (Upper Case), there would not have been a match with the 'ADD' Request and therefore the After-Submit process would not have been run by the ADD button.
To prevent this in the future, we are going to standarise using the PL/SQL Expression Condition (checking :REQUEST) and also ensure that our Item Level Buttons "Request Value" is Camel Case (just an extra precaution).

In SAP when ever we create any object(tables or MCDs) :
there are two things CUSTOMER NAME SPACE(stored locally in that system only) and FORIEGN NAME SPACE(can be transported)
CUSTOMER NAME SPACE objects starts with 'Z' or 'Y'
FORIEGN NAME SPACE objects starts with any other digit other than 'Z' or 'Y'
So youhave created MCD name CIBERNW which starts with 'C' (its not customer name space with z or y)
so it will be stored in package(so that this package can be transported to any other system later)
So what ever you have done is correct.
You can create your own request also.
But confirm once that whether you are supposed to store your MCD this that package.

So this request is nothing but....
When ever we create tables or MCDs we try to save it..so if we are trying to create objects in Foreign name space(i.e without 'Z' or 'Y' inthe beginning) so it will ask to create this object in a package which requires request(transport request)
All objects are stored in package,( so this package contains many objects like MCD,SYNBOS etc what ever we store in it) so we can transport this package from one system to another system so to transport we need to generate a transport request for that package and them release that transport request.....
So once the package is released and we try to edit or create new objects in that package it will ask for some new request.....
Yes we can create our own request and later release it.
But in your case u can take up the default request and continue.
If this MCD is for only testing purpose(for our selfs)..means this MCD is just for our testing sake..its better to create it in Customer name space..starts with 'Z' or 'Y'.

Problems with OLE Container in QUERY

I have problem with OLE Container when I am trying to retrieve data from the database. Inserting is no problem and commit is done. I am doing it with
initialize_container('block.ole_object','C:\test.doc');
I have only one column of BLOB type and it is last in the block as it was suggested somewhere on the forum.
When I am trying to retrieve the already inserted data I get error with the following

The forms and the database are as follow:

This may be related to the 10g database, I'm not sure as there is no way for me to test it. I know that it works with a 9i database.
One thing to check is to make sure that you don't have the FORMS60_DISABLE_DESCRIBE set to 1 within the Oracle registry.
If this doesn't work, your only option might be to use a LONG RAW instead of a BLOB column type in the database.

 entity Beans to fulfill the request.
 Now if 2 or more clients hit the submit button together, the server is mixing
 the data from the requestsand i get corrupted output as a result.
 That if i submit values (a,b,c) from one client machine and values (x,y,z) from
 another machine, the server puts one of the transactions properly and in the other
 it picks up the data from the other request and takes something like (x,y,c) !!
 Is this a bug in Weblogic 6.1 or am doing something wrong ?? Anyone faced this
 problem ?

 It's highly unlikely that it's WebLogic. Somewhere along the line, you are
 calling or referring to the same instance of either a class of a variable.
 You should brush up on the meaning of static variables.
 Make sure that you are not using class-level variables in your servlet. WLS
 will create only one instance of a Servlet or JSP and invoke it from
 multiple threads (requests) unless it is declared as SingleThreadModel. (See
 the servlet spec).
 When you declare variables inside a method - they are defined on the stack -
 so they're safe from multiple threads since each thread has it's own stack.
 If you declare them in a class, they're on the heap, and are shared by
 multiple threads invoking that servlet-class instance.
 There is a workaround if you MUST use class-level variables (not a good idea
 in a servlet). You can declare your Servlet (or JSP) as SingleThreadModel.
 This is less desirable since it carries a performance hit. It's best to
 design around it - but you might try declaring this to see if it helps in
 the JSP...

 Of course, if the threading issues I've discussed above are occurring
 elsewhere in your code, you'll have to design-around it. Like I say, check
 for static class variables. It's unlikely that your other code is invoking
 the same instances of other classes from multiple threads (unless those

 the above).
 Make sure that you are not referencing static variables in your servlet or
 other bean classes (unless you intend to). Static variables are scoped at
 the class level and are therefore shared by all instances of that class (or

 instances of the same class will be using the same static variables.

Is it always the same entity that is reported as 'unknown' ? You mention that it works sometimes but is it the same deployment and the same code that works? The first thing I would verify is that the ear is being created as expected by netbeans. Check the persistence.xml file and verify that all of the classes are listed that will be used as entities.

I have problem with permissions. After login I see a white screen instead of request for permission. The desktop application does not have a problem with it. When I log for the first time to the desktop application and I will give the permissions applications, then in the mobile application everything works fine. But this is not a good solution. And so please help.

The labelField of IconItemRenderer only supports single line text. Try using the messageField instead:

Problem with same Container for 2 different outputs

I am using method set_table_for_first_display to display 2 different output with same container depending upon the selection of radio button. but the problem I am facing is when I click BACK button after dispaying second output and executing first output, it is showing prebious output only. is there any method to handle this problem?

Having problems with plugin-container.exe!

The Plugin-container.exe is causing firefox to crash after every page load. I have isolated it as the root cause because every time I terminate the process firefox starts working again.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Problems with resizable container

Hi,
I have a resizable JPanel with cubes inside it.
The problem is when I resize the JPanel the cubes inside it gets resized only after I move the borders of the JPanel ~14 pixels...
The problem is in the X axis...
The Y axis "jumps" every ~5 pixels...
I need content of the JPanel also to resize every 1 pixel (so it would be on the borders of the JPanel)...
Any Ideas?

I guess that the only solution is NOT to use gridLayoutWell that would explain the behaviour. It would have been nice if that information was included in the original question. Thats why I always ask for a SSCCE, since you never no what information is importan or not.
All components in a GridLayout have the same size. So if you have a Grid with 10 component that is 400 pixels wide each component will be 40 pixels wide. As suggested above the size of each component will only be adjusted when you incread the width by 10 or more (since you have 10 components in each row).
Doing it manually would also be a pain. If you increase the width by 1 pixel you would only be able to increase the size of one component. Then if you increase it by one pixel again you can only change one component, so do you change the first one again or the second. So now you need an algorithm to determine which component gets the extra space.
I need content of the JPanel also to resize every 1 pixel (so it would be on the borders of the JPanel)...Don't know exactly what your layout is like, but maybe you could center the panel in the frame. That way as you change the size the "border" will change on both sides and it may not look as bad.
You can try using a BoxLayout. Components will grow as the size is increased but I think you might have problems with the first components always growing first.

Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or reboot the iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If those don't help, post back with your specific issues.

I am having a problem with Adobe Presenter Video Express locking up my PC. It requires a complete reboot to kill the program. Anyone else?

Hm, that was my silver bullet. Other than doing an uninsall and then installing Presenter again, you may need to reach out to Adobe and see if they can identify what could be causing this.

Problem with OWB Paris (case expression)

I've got a little problem with defining an attribute property. I've defined a simple case statement: case when LKP_IN.TEST_TAB_ID is null then 'INS' else 'UPD' end. When I validate the expression I get the following error message:

To what database are you trying to deploy your mapping? It seems that db version is pre-9i?
If so, note that CASE statement is unavailable in PL/SQL until Oracle 9i its available only in SQL (in pre-9i Oracle had different code from SQL and PL/SQL interpretation, after 9i it share interpreter code). The compilation error may appear in ROW-based parts of package: OWB generates code that calls CASE statement directly in PL/SQL it cause error.
To avoid deployment error wrap this expression component by some operator (order, dedup, join, set). In this case OWB pack expression along with wrap operator in SQL statement and package will compile.
Where were discussion here (in forum) about using analytical function in mapping the same approach works for CASE / DECODE if deploying to pre-9i database.

Problem with my Final Cut express HD's livetype & soundtrack programs

Hi everyone, hope someone could help me
In 2006 i but my Final cut Express HD for my laptop Macbook. I have used a lot, it always worked.
I haven't used it this year and the only new thing a did to my laptop was installed the snowleopard software is now 10.6.8. But yesterday, i try to save a project in my LIVETYPE and SOUNDTRACK (programs that come with the Final Cut Express HD) it automatically close up deleting everything and appear a window saying: that quit unexpectedly and push reopen and repeat the error over and over again.
the program (Livetype and Soundtrack) opens and are install perfectcly but it doesn't let you save or export anything it automatically close it up.
Final cut is the only one that let you save projects.
I have install and uninstall it many time and it still doesn't work.
I will like to know what happens? and how can i fix it?!
