2.38GB used but no music in ipod

So my itunes says i used 2.38Gb but i have no music in it because i took all of my music out of my itunes & now that my ipod is plugged in it says that i used that much space with no music in it. how can this be??

You could also use a software called WhatSize (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/21149). It will show you everything inside any folder in your computer or even network. It shows sizes, hidden folders and files.
It's been very useful for me.

Music from CDs that is on my iPod won't transfer to my iTunes library on a different computer I used to use but all music bought from iTunes will? How do I fix this?

In the past to get music from CDs onto my iTunes library and onto my iPod was all easy and fine, as you would know if you have done such a thing before. I used to use a different laptop for all my music stuff to the desktop I have to use now as the other one is broken. It is an authorised computer on my iTunes, so my issue has got nothing to do with that. When I got this desktop (it is quite an old one, if that makes any difference), i had to download iTunes and put all my music into my library to back it up.
However, all music that I had bought physically that is currently on my iPod (CDs) WON'T transfer into my new library on the desktop, but all music that I had bought digitally (iTunes) WILL transfer.
This has led to about 300 missing songs in my library and means I can't transfer all of my music onto a different device (as I am trying to transfer all my music onto an iPhone 3).
I have tried countless things. All of that "File > Devices > Transfer purchases" stuff WILL. NOT. WORK. I tried copying the music into a file on the desktop and then adding said file into the library, but it won't let me paste any music.
If someone were to help me in transferring the music I so dearly love then I would be eternally grateful.

1.1 GB of space for other use, but no music, no books nor Videos are sync.

My IPad4 says it has 1.1 GB of space for "other" use, but I don´t have anything on this Ipad, I even took away the music, books and Videos. How can I know what others really stands for? Is there a way of errasing this information?

Other is usually around 1 GB...
A ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup... But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup... Then a Restore as New is the way to go...

How to delete itunes songs but keep music on ipod when connected

This may sound like a strange request but can I delete all my music off itunes but keep the songs on my ipod shuffle when I connect it to itunes to load on new music?
I use sony sonicstage as my main music holding library as I have a sony large storage mp3 player but use my shuffle as a exercise music player.

No you can't. The shuffle doesn't have the same full manual management setting that other iPods have, you have to have the songs in iTunes or they'll be removed from the iPod.

Manual management selected, albums dragged on, but no music on ipod.

I have a new ipod, and have selected to manage music manually. I have selected the albums I want on it, and have dragged them to the device shown in itunes. When I click on "music" under the device name, all the songs appear, with checked boxes. Yet when I disconnect the ipod, no music is on it. I don't drag, but since I can't fit all my music on my Nano, I have it sync only checked songs. I'm not sure if you're doing one or the other, or some combination of both, but you might try hitting the Sync button that shows when you click on the iPod that appears in iTunes (in the list on the left, under music, movies, podcasts, etc.).

- Are you saying that they are not listed in your Purchased section?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- Are they listed in your Puchases history when you log into your account on your computer?
- Are they still available now for purchase? If not then you are out of luck
If they are still available and listed in your Puchase History then contact iTunes

If you have all of the songs and videos still in your library I would recommend doing the restore of the iPod.

No music on iPod but memory used

When I transfer music files from iTunes to my iPod they seem to go over, it takes times, the songs get ticked off and the memory is used but there is nothing in my iPod. When I select iPod in iTunes it sayd the songs are there but when I actually want to listen to them there is no music at all.

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. I still get the notification that my phone needs to be plugged in and connected to wifi in order to back up to the cloud :-(

HELP ! Ipod froze while syncing so I unplugged. Now not showing any music on Ipod or in Itunes but will show the songs in my ipod control

So basicly I was trying to figure out on how to get all my album art back on my 160gb Ipod Classic. It showed in itunes but not on my ipod. My cover flow was full of Question marks. Having 140gb of music ir was fustrating manually putting it back on to each album. This happened a few months ago. So the 5 or 6gb of new music i put on since this happened is on my Ipod and show in my coverflow on my Ipod.
It came to a point where i had to leave my computer and noticed that my ipod was still in a synchnnizing stage and seemed like it was frozen. Having to leave the computer I had to unplug the ipod. By doing so, when i turned it on it said that i had no songs on my Ipod. When plugged into my itunes it also says no songs but at the bottom of the itunes screen it shows there is 140gb of "other Information" with 1.5 gb remaining but not music. I can see all the songs in my Edrive>al's Ipod> Ipod Control> Music folder. I have had a few different computers since this new ipod has music from ages ago from an old 30gb classic and have transfered over the years on multiple computers (so restoring or syncing to this computer is out of the question). Thus all the ratings and playlist are very dear to me. Hundreds of hours invested in this ipod OVER 6 Years. It seems like there is some file missing or needed to link everything together.
I have spent endless hours trying many diffferent aproches. Like one forum said go into AL'S IPOD>IPOD CONTROL>ITUNES.. when in there they said to look for a file called ITunesDB and another called ITunesD8.old and switch them and rename ITunesD8.old_mlpmp but i only have the ituned DB not the ItunesDB.old

So i figure the problem started when i went into my control panel and chose show all hidden files so i can look at my files in the Ipod_control and was fooling around with the preference area by selecting the read only icon and disabling the hidden icon. I tried reversing this before ejecting my ipod but it was stuck in the Synchronizing do not disconnect mode and would not eject. Everytime i did try to eject it said in itunes with a yellow triangle saying " files or folders are in use in another area and cannot eject" even tho everyting has been closed......

Are you seeing your music listed in the iPod screen, or in Win explorer as in your earlier post?

A corrupted iPod database, will report zero music used, and have your music size reported as others, so you wont see the music in the iPod screen. Sorry, I thought there was some hope for you with iPodAccess, in recovery of the corrupted iPod database with your ratings.
You can try to borrow and use the Mac Disk Utility ->First Aid ->Repair.
Of course, if your iPod Hardisk is in a bad state, from the Disk Diagnostic report, then all my suggestion are futile.

If I understand correctly you want all 6 devices to have access to a single calendar that each device gets notifications for and can edit. You can do that with an private iCloud shared calendar. First sign into www.icloud.com and use these steps from the following article to share a calendar:
iCloud: Share a calendar with others
Share a calendar privately
Click the Share button to the right of the calendar name in the sidebar, then select Private Calendar.
Note: You can also share the same calendar publicly. For instructions, see the next task, “Share a calendar publicly.”
Type the invitee’s email address in the Add Person field and press Return.
Click the pop-up menu with the invitee’s name and choose access privileges (View & Edit or View Only).
For each person you want to share the calendar with, repeat steps 2 and 3.
When you’ve invited everyone and set their privileges, click OK.
Invitation emails are sent from your iCloud email address to the participants you specified.

2 iPods, 2 accounts but same music files, Can I point both users to the same music files, or do I have to have a seperate copy on each user account?
Me and the wife both have an iPod, and Ive read there easier to manage if you use 2 user accounts.
However, can I store all my music MP3s in one place on the HDD, and just point each user account's iTunes to the one place?
Or do you have to have the music in each users folder?
Sorry Im brand new to Mac and an (ex) PC user
