How to use external microphone in combo jack?

Hello,
My notebook Pavillion 14-V042tx have this combo jack (input/output in one jack).
How can i use my external microphone with this combo jack?
When i inserting the microphone it won't recognize the device, but when the headphone / external speakers are inserted, it's doing fine.
Do i need cable audio splitter like this?
Or are there any settings to enable the external microphone?
Thx before.

exlinko,
If the hardware is working the 8.1 software should detect that the jack was inserted and allow you to listen to (audio -out) on one of the jacks and allow you to input (audio-in) on the other. Also the software should mute the internal mic and speakers. Good luck with M$ 8.1 software.

  • How to use external microphone? L420

    Hi,
I had a R61 before and it was easy to use an external mic in that as there were two ports, one for headphones and the other for mic. In the L420 however, it seems that there is only one port with a headset engraved on it. I suppose that means it's a combi port, both for headphones and mic. So i connected the mic,but all I could hear in my recording was whatever the "INBUILT LAPTOP" microphone could record, which was mainly noise. My connected microphone could not be recorded. Any help?
    Thanks.

    Hi arx
I also used to fight with L420 mic, but the external mic plugin never gave me a problem.
First I tried a normal mic (3.5 mm / mini stereo) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Audio-TRS-Mini-Plug.jpg) and did not work.
If I use my earphones with mic that has a 4 section plug the mic works without problem.
Maybe you need this kind of adapter.

  • How to use external Microphone in Logic pro 8?

I am trying to use a condenser mic with interface (blue iclcle USB) and all I am getting is the internal mic. Does anyone know how to change this?
    Thanks L

    Hi Leza2unes,
Have you selected the device (blue ice USB) from within Logic itself?
Here are a few ideas to get you going. This is assuming that you have installed any drivers needed for the USB device you are using.
Logic Preferences> Audio> devices tab then, "core audio" tab make sure "Core Audio" is selected in the check box and that you see the "Blue Ice" (or something that relates to the name of your device)in the drop down menu next to the word "device".
    Hope that helps,

  • How to use external Java API in Java Embedd inside BPEL

How to use external classes inside the BPEL in Java Embed Activity ? Any sample code availble ? Like i want to use log4j API inside BPEL.

No you dont have to change your startManagedServer.cmd/.sh everytime you need to have a Java Embedding activity. You only need it in case of using Log4J. As log4j requires a configuration xml viz log4j.debug.xml and log4j.dtd you need to let the soa managed server know about it. The best way to load this configuration files is using the JAVA_OPTIONS command during server startup.
    Hope the explanation helps.

  • How to use external jars in NW2004

    Hello Experts,
can i use the same approach mentioned in the below Weblog for using the external jars in NW2004.
    /people/bertram.ganz/blog/2008/11/24/how-to-use-external-jar-files-in-web-dynpro-development-components
and if not then what will be the best way to achieve it in  NW2004.
Please provide your inputs on above.
    Regards,
    Siddharth

    Hi Sidharth,
If you are using web dynpro DC perspective then you need to follow the following points to use the external jar files in it.
    1. Create a external library project.
    2. copy the external jars in the library folder os the projects.
3.) Select all the jars from the u201CLibrariesu201D folder, Right click and then select Development Component and click on Add to Public Part
4.Select the first Radio Button (Provides an API)and give some nameto it.
    5. Repeat the step no 3 but now select the second radio button other than as selected in step no 4.
    6. Now build your lirary DC.
    7. Now create a j2ee DC project.
    8. ) Expand the node DC Definition and Right Click on Used DC. Select Add Used DC.
    9. Select the External Library DC with build time dependency.
10.Right click on the J2EE DC and then select Development Component followed by Build
    11. Right click on the J2EE DC and then select Development Component followed by Deploy
now you can use both the libary DC and the j2ee DC in your web dynpro DC as used DC.
But if you have created a web dynpro project only(but not DC) than you can directly add the external jars in java build path
    hope this will help

  • How to use External Tables

Hi, I want to know how to use external tables? The procedure i follow for SQL*Loader in my shell script is:
    Call the sqlldr
    Check return code
If return code = 2. get count of records from bad file and exit.
If return code != 0 and != 2 then exit as fatal error
If return code = 0 then continue.
But i don't understand how to use external table as it is not invoked and does not have a return code.

    Hello,
What do you mean alogrithim, do you mean to invoke external table as you invoke sqlldr? You can generate external table script from sqlldr and use it to load data but you might have to modify the table name and datafile name . You can see if any bad file generated from sqlldr and if yes then you can generate external table (using sqlldr) or based on your bad file. May be if you can list what exactly you want in bullet points, then it will be easier to suggest you.

  • Using external microphones with zen ne

How do I plug in an external microphone into my zen neeon? I plan to use bi-naural microphones. Can I use a preamp and an adapter? Is this even possible with my model?
    Thanks
    Nora

I'm sorry, but that's not really my area of expertise. If you are planning to use this for simple voice-recording you could try the Griffin iMic device which helps provide both pre-amplification and impedance matching between a mini-plug mic and a USB port for sound input. I've used it recording music from a boom-box to a MacBook.
The tech specs state that the audio line-level in port is:
Input impedance greater than 20,000 ohms
Input level: Max 2 V rms (+8.2 dbµ)
I would look for a mic that meets those specifications. MacSpeech.com has several microphone/headset recommendations for use with their Dictate and iListen voice recognition software. I would think that their suggestions would be useful.

  • Voice recording using external microphone

    Hi,
I need to record my voice using an external microphone on my Pavilion 15-n097ea. There is only a combined headphone/mic jack and I have read that I need a 4 conductor connection. I can't seem to find any local shops that sell them and was advised to buy a USB sound card that has the pink and green ports, or a 3.5mm 4 pin to 2x3 headset splitter adapter - M/F. Any suggestions as to whether this will work, and if so can you recommend a headset that will give a good quality voice over, without costing the earth?
My control panel shows this in the sound section:
Mic in at front panel (black)
    Realtek High Definition Audio
    Not Plugged In
    Microphone
    Realtek High Definition Audio
    Default Device
    Stereo Mix
    Realtek High Definition Audio
    Ready
    Many thanks in advance!

There's plenty of software you can use to record your voice to mp3 then just put the mp3 into your fla.

  • External microphone in headphone jack on Hp envy 15-j160no ?

Hello! I just bought my Hp envy 15-j160no. I want to use my external microphone for better quality. I have plugged my microphone in to my headphone input(because I have remebered that on this computer the input is working for both headphones and microphone, right?)
But i can't get it to work, my computer only uses the microphone that is built in on the computer instead.
I use an Audyssey that was included when I bought my receiver(Onkyo nr262)
    Appreciate help!
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    Please read:
This integrated headphone / microphone port uses a 4 section plug (identified with 3 black / colored rings).
You can plug a standard headphone in, and it should work by itself.  A spliter cable may be required to support a stand alone microphone properly.
    Please try:
    Use a  headset or
Use a "Y"  adapter that can connect a separate microphone
    Hope this helps
    Regards.
