2 BRI interfaces back to back

I have 2 bri interfaces, either in one router or in 2 different ones. the first has the following config:
interface BRI1/0
no ip address
isdn switch-type basic-net3
isdn protocol-emulate network
isdn layer1-emulate network
isdn static-tei 0
isdn skipsend-idverify
and on the b1/1:
interface BRI1/1
no ip address
isdn switch-type basic-net3
isdn static-tei 0
and the network side never comes up! I try the user side with the Telco and works fine. I tried all possible commands on both, like overlap-receiving, twait-disable, tei-negotiation, point-to-point-setup etc but still none b1/X ever lights up as green.
Also i tried straight cable and rollover cable, nothing.
Any idea how it can work? or if the PBX can not operate as USER, how can i make the router network?
Thanks, Chris

you will need to connect the BRI to a switch/pbx that provides network termination.
(what is the exact BRI module part number? ie: VIC-2BRI-NT/TE, VIC-2BRI-S/T-TE, VIC2-BRI-NT/TE)
(if your using the VIC-2BRI-S/T-TE, you'll need your PBX to provide network termination)
your commands for isdn protocol and isdn layer1 emulate are correct for emulating network side.
static TEI seems fine if in fact your TEI can be set staticallly. (not sure of your pbx configuration possiblities)
what type of pbx are you attempting to connect the BRI to?
what type of router model are you using?
also, run a 'debug isdn q921' and even a 'debug isdn q931' and provide the output. this should help us help you a bit more.

  • IDLE-TIMEOUT IN ISDN BRI INTERFACE

If bri isdn interface is backup by serial interface. Two commands are president for timeout bri interface
    one under backup serial interface
    1. backup delay 10 30
    The other under bri interface
    2. dialer idle-timeout 800
My query is when interface serial comes back what will be time bri interface to in the disconnect position 30 or 800.

    hi
AFAIK ideally the time would be 830 (30+800) coz the traffic will only get diverted back to serial interface after its observed stable for the configured time period which is 30 here.
Once it starts getting the traffic thru main serial interface the dialer interface will become idle..
so it will have to stay upto the timeout period (800 here)configured to get disconnected..

  • ISDN BRI INTERFACE

Isdn bri interface is used as backup by serial interface
    backup delay 10 60
under bri interface following command is also configured
    dialer idle-timeout 900
what will be idle timeout of bri interface if serial interface comes back and functional.

    Hello Jabbar,
this looks like a cisco BCRAN question, here it goes:
the backup delay 10 60 , means that it will take 10 seconds before the secondary link comes up, after the primary goes down, and it will take 60 seconds after the primary goes back up, before the secondary goes down.
    dialer idle-timeout 900:
this command indicates how long the call can stay idle before it is disconnected.
    from cisco:
"This command is used on lines for which there is no contention. When contention occurs, the dialer fast-idle command is activated. For example, when a busy line is requested to send another packet to a different destination than it is currently connected to, line contention occurs and the dialer fast-idle command is activated.
By default, this command applies to inbound and outbound calls. For example, if a receiving system needs to make outgoing calls, you might configure it with a short idle timeout.
Only packets that match the dialer group reset the idle timer."
So, I guess it would be 900s
    HTH,
please rate this post if it does,

  • Isdn bri interfaces

If I had 2 isdn routers on different sites and wanted them to connect, do I need to put both BRI interfaces on the same subnet or does it not matter with isdn ?

    Hi
AFAIK there are 2 ways one is considering the isdn connectvitiy as a seperate point to point link and assigining a seperate /30 block for that connectivity or else you can also use ip unnunmbered option and make use of your ethernet ip or the loopback ip.
But i would suggest to go with the first option coz of the simplicity involved, also the second option may create or result in some operational problems if you have some routing protocol in place between your locations.

  • How do I add a USB interface back to my network preferences

Help, I mistakenly deleted the usb interface from the list of available interfaces from my network preferences. How do I add it back?

    Hello,
I found a website that you can download mail for. I dont know if you can trust the website, but this is just to let you know that it is out there. http://en.softonic.com/s/mail:mac
Also, if you do not want to download that, you can alway have a safari tab open with you email. That also works.

  • All the tool bars, url box, everything is gone, only blue F-mozilla shows, deleted and reinstalled, even deleted mozilla from program files, reinstalled, still the same, how do I get the original interface back?

I downloaded a freeware prog., scanned it (nothing malicious) and installed, canceled the ask! tool bar add on, but it put it on anyhow. My mozilla had the minimize toolbars buttons, so I minimized every thing to get a full screen, but now I don't have buttons, I don't have anything accept the home page. I deleted mozilla, deleted the program file, reinstalled twice, but still the same messed up opening page with no url, no tool bars, no buttons, nothing... I left scanning the entire computer and am at school....
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Ask! tool bar was added on the browser (even thou I unchecked that option)

Hit the '''Alt''' key to show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark.

  • Router with BRI interface

i need your support to know model Router with BRI interface

The Cisco 876 (cheapest option) provides ADSL over ISDN

For integrated ISDN BRI, I suggest looking at the 1800 Series

  • Roll back to standard SAP, after generating a new version for an interface

    Hello all,
Somebody has modified one standard interface, and now a new version has been created with that  user name.  But, there is no difference between the old SAP version and the current active versioin (he/she has changed nothing).  If i go and see the version management it is appearing like this,
X     Active    ..............   with that user name............
below which i have the standard SAP version like this,
    .......................0.00.000. ......................  SAP
But, if i go and see the attributes for that interface,  its showing
    LAST CHANGED BY    ............................ SAP
how this can happen, when the active version is under a user name, but still the attributes is showing LAST CHANGED BY as SAP ????
    one more question,
Now i want to revert my interface back to Standard SAP version, although there are no changes between the old and the current version.  If i go and see the version management, it should show me only one version that too of standard SAP, like this,
    X      Active...........................   SAP.
THe reason is, some body in future on seeing this interface should not think that this standard interface got changed.
Is it possible now?  Please give me suggestions.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
This currently seems like a bug , we have encountered this too.
work around is you have to delete the rtf files from server Siebel\client\temp\XMLP directory and upload them again so that they are not cached any more.
same on dedicated client you may have to delete relavant files form siebel\client\temp\xmlp directory and upload again.
    Thanks,
    Vamsi

  • How the **** do I get my old 6.something MAIL app back

I just 'upgraded' from 6.something can't remember it was maybe 6.8, whatever came on my Mac Air 3 years ago.  I only upgrades because there is a piece of design software I want to use  that won't run on 6.  What ever happened to their vaunted backward compatability, how can folks be writing software that won't work on an operating system that is 3 years old?  I'm still using my G4 desktop with 4.11.  That probably goes back 8 years if I'm guessing right, and I understand it may be a bridge too far but working with software developers to orphan 3 year old machines is not the Mac I once knew.
    But I digress .
I had no idea this 'upgrade' was going to screw with Mail and my Address Book.  They have ruined the search function in Mail by bringing it under spotlight.
The new appearance is useless. It looks like Gmail which I hate.
All I want is a succinct list view of messages and a dedicated robust search function that easily sets criteria for which fields to look in.
The new version is hopeless. How do I go back. I didn't sign up for new Mail . I DONT WANT IT. I was so happy with my Mac experience, even though the air card on my Air won't connect I've been using it as a desktop machine.  And after seeing this new operating system, I don't even want a new Mac computer if I can't get the old MAIL back.
MAybe late to the party here and sorry to fill the question up with observations, but these suppport communities are equally useless to search, have a lousy interface, I can never figure out how to find my own threads nevermind ones where the issue might already have been discussed.  Now they have just made the MAIL application as bad as their support forum.
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Bee,
thanks for that.  I never have a clue when 'preferences' will be useful anymore.  I went to the spotlight preferences to try to fix the case sensitivity problem or figure out where you can now chose which field to restrict the search to in mail, and instead the only preferences they offer is how much gobbledy gook to search at once as if the default is likely to be every kind of file and its content in the computer.  That is the least likely search and their dogged adherence to the idea that this is what people want put me off spotlight from the moment they introduced it.
And, silly me, my intuition when I didn't like the View was to look under the View menu.  And then go to the help menu and put in "view" in the search which, for reasons only apple knows does not bring up matches for "viewing" which  would have lead me to the correct answer - not only available in the preferences route but also located under Window>Viewing.  I don't get it, I don't know whay they would restrict a search in the help field to exclude the same word with a different ending, but when I search in my address book they have started adding snippets so if I search for "Rose" I'll get the name "Ambrose" and they put Ambrose and anything else they find that is alphabetically in front of Rose first, pushing what I really want hopelessly down the list.  This is as bad as phone searches when I search for Rose and get a bunch of florists.  That's fine, but give me anything that begins with Rose first instead of hopelessly buried hundreds of results down because of "AAA florist" and the like.
Good search isn't about this unlimited access to your whole computer and treating everything the same. Rather its about restriction.  Searches with the most subtle and effective restrictions are where its at and apple seems to moving the wrong direction. This is why MAILs old search function worked so much better in my opinion, because all the stupid cellphone style searches for these that to search your mail (and the internet at the same time half the time) but offer no restrictions are a waste of my effort trying to use useless touch screens to put in search indecies.
In this vein, and most unfortunately, changing to classic view did not bring up the classic search restrictors.  I get the search restriction bar, but it only offers choices amongst my mail boxeswhich simply duplices the choices I can make in the vertical pane on the left.  This bar used to be where you would get your field restrictions, i.e. entire message, subject, from , to.
And then case sensitivity setting used to show up in a bar at the bottom.
None of that stuff shows up.  The so  called "help" delivered with these apps says you can click an arrow to get those choices, but it doesn't say where the arrow is. I ca't find it. Why do I have to click an arrow. What happened to the restrictor bar.
It is hard to calm down after I had a three month nightmare to get this 'upgrade' in the first place and the only thing it tells you about itself is you can used two fingers to scroll which is the least important feature Mac has ever developed for me. If, instead, a dialogue box pops up telling you how to revert if you don't like it, or if they think that telegraphs lack of belief in their new product, how about a dialogue box asking whether you are conservative user who doesn't like interface changes, etc. and then deliver settings accordingly instead of forcing you into their horrible google like regime and you having to pick your way through the minefields to get as much of your old useful interface back.
It is of course great that folks like you will take the time to reply and that is the least exasperating and most hopeful part of this, although I would think that this is a place where apple would value feedback and mine is emphatically, go backwards.  The old MAIL and most importantly the old MAIL search distinguished Mac for me.  It was the most useful, fastest, functional mail reader and they should leave it alone.
Yeah, I have a couple ideas like you ought to be able to set defaults for the inbox and the outbox so that it always searches the from field in the inbox and the to field in the outbox as the default and then you can change from there. but I never even bothered to voice that thought because, whenever they mess with something decent, they usually make it worse.  And having to click the field restriction was a small penalty to pay for their lack of foresight in that area.
I search those from and to fields, respectively to inbox and outbox, more than any other and then subject is my next most searched field.  Instead they deliver a search engine whose default is entire message and no way to restrict it. I've got 60,000 messages that I regularly search and they have just torpedoed a big advantage. But what's worse, they did it because they have created some kind of incompatability between 6 and 7 that caused me to have to 'upgrade' in the first place.
I think this attitude, that whatever apple comes up with will be the next great thing has overtaken their support of earlier apple platforms and backward compatability that assured you that when you decided to buy apple products you weren't going to be orphaned.  The mindset is more forcing you into their newer lines and designs.  We already pay a premium to buy mac products and I justfiy that because I'm going to get twice or three times the life out of the computer that I will out of an IBM.  But if they aren't supporting and encouraging software support to  continue for their line long enough for me to get those extra years and they keep diminishing my operating experience, then paying the premium doesn't make any sense.  I'm grossly disappointed because I've been Mac  since 1984 and they are trying their level best to alienate me -- and succeeding.
Calm folks like you are their best weapon to keep folks like me on this platform and I do appreciate your response, but it is hard to calm down.

  • How do I get my old Foxfire layout back, because I can not find any where to click that makes any sense. Really bad design, none functional with out some very indepth information to mmove me through it. Very bad design.

I have Vista for an OS, I was running Foxfire 3.4 when it started to freeze after opening the internet the first time and forced me to open the internet again to have function. The first one could not be interacted with at all, not even to close it.
I loaded Foxfire 4 and now can not even understand the layout. Nothing makes any sense at all. Where are all the normal features? Where do my open in new tab s go and how the hell do I get to them? I am too frustrated to even accept the new interface. I want the old interface back.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:
