2 BW to one ECC6

Gurus,
Can we have 2 BW system connect to the same ECC6?
If yes, how can we ensure that the same data (full load + Delta) will be send into two different BW system?

This is the background of our environment. We have BW 3.5 (BW 1) connected to our ECC6 for 3 years. The BW 3.5 is up and running since then. Now, we are going to connect another BW (BW 2)system to this ECC6 and load the data onto it.
So what I need to do is:
1) Connect the BW 2 to ECC6.
2) Perform the INIT for all Data Source.
After the above, in RSA7, I should be able to see 2 Data Source (one for BW 1 and another for BW 2).
So if the delta have been loaded for BW 1, I still have delta sitting in RSA7 for BW 2. And therefore, I can still load the delta for BW 2 into BW 2, correct?

ECC6: Function ignores error message

I have the same program in two different systems: one 4.6c version, and the other one ECC6.
But the last one, ignores an error message.
The Standard program calls the function FKK_CALL_EVENT_1113:

This function calla a Custom Function (Event), with the same interface.
In this Custom Function we have put an error message.
Message e002(zin01).
In 4.6C version, the system shows an error message.
In ECC6 version, the system doesn't show the error message, quitsthe function, but it continues with the programm.
Could anyone help me to understand how I could solve it? Or why does it happen? Is there any difference between the two versions?

Dump clearly says that you are not captured exceptions
You need to capture the exception in your superiod program ie

How to replace a source system with another in BW

Hello experts,
I've read many topics dealing with my customer's need, but I still can't find the solution.
My landscape is the following one :
ECC6 with DEV, QUAL and PROD
BW with DEV and PROD
BW DEV source system is ECC6 DEV, I need to change it to ECC6 QUAL
A lot of work has already been done, and I'd like not to lose it changing the source system.
Datasources are the same in ECC6 DEV and QUAL.
This is not a system or a client copy, it is really a source system switch.
The new source system is already created (both DEV and QUAL ECC6 are available in "source systems" in RSA1), and I tried to use BDLS tcode
In the "old logical system name" I choose my current source system and in "new logical system name" I choose the one I now need to use.
System answer is : "The logical system name ECC6 QUAL already exists"
Obviously I did something wrong, but can't figure what.
Is there any action to perform before BDLS ?
Any help is appreciated, and points will be given.

"relevant object" means for you datasources, transfer rules and transformations ?
With the grouping option "Save for system copy" I can't take easily all datasources, and others objects
Will I have to pick all object one by one ?
What would be the adjustement in table RSLOGSYSMAP ? For the moment it's empty.

Master data governance - Replicate to the same system/client?

Hi Experts,
We're evaluating MDG for supplier in our ECC6 EHP5 system. All the documentation I can find talk only about replicating to connected systems using ALE or SOA, but we've only one ECC6 environment and we're running MDG on the same server. Can someone please kindly let me know whether we can replicate the suppliers to the same ECC6 system that MDG is running on? And if yes, how?

Hi Luis
There are prebuilt workflows for MDG Supplier. You can use them directly for storing data in your ECC system. After the approval process is completed, MDG for supplier stores data in BUT000, LFA1, LFB1 and LFM1 tables in your ECC system. You can use the prebuilt workflows and UI, to get your job done. Once the approval process is done, data is stored in your system, then you can replicate to other systems

Problem with Interactive Forms

Hi All!
I'm still having a problem when I insert any control which haves text, after I activate the form, the text disappears.
I have only installed Adobe Designer 6.0 (I didn't install Netweaver).
Does somebody know what can I do? Do I need any SP? Which?

I want to use ADS from both ABAP stacks. I have configured both and the ADS including interactive forms works from the SRM5 abap system, but has the problems described from the ECC6.0 system.
The abap software components from both systems differ. The working one has aba, basis, apl on level 8, the non woking on 12.
Now which of the abap components is involved and would the older level 8 componenet work with the newer ADS (is it downward compatible). Since I could upgrade the java ADS to the latest level , but do not want to upgrade the abap stack on the SRM5 system.
I am afraid of breaking a working SRM 5 system.

Problem with Interactive forms. Non interactive works fine

I have a strange problem with testing interactive forms . If i test the same test form (FP_TEST_02) without putting an x in the fillable field, i see the PDF fine.
But when I set the fillable filed to x I get a system error and the J2ee error log as follows :

SPLITTING MORE THAN ONE LINE ITEM IN ECC6.0

Hi everyone.
I am using New GL functionality in ECC6.0. I have a big question regarding multiple objects splitting. Ej: Purchase of a service.
If I set one cost centre in the expense line item, the profit centre and segment are determined automatically in the vendor line (in the vendor invoice).
Then I post the payment and, without introducing any cost object, the profit centre and segment are determined automatically in both balance line items. Everything is ok.
However if in the original vendor invoice I use 2 cost lines with different cost centres: New GL splits everything alright and I get the vendor lines splitted with the right profit centre. When I post the payment, with new GL I don't get any split or balance line are properly posted with a PC.
Resuming, splitting works properly in both vendor invoice and manual outgoing payment when originally there is only one cost line and one cost centre. However, when using 2 cost line with different cost centres, splitting is only working in the vendor invoice but I can't get it work in the manual outgoing payment.

There is a config setting called classify document type for document splitting, or something like that.
Here you have all of your doc types, and then you assign a business transactions
The point I am making is that you need to check there, and that the config for the business transactions are the same.
Can you confirm if the payment document actually posted. If it did then it passed the config rules you have set for doc splitting. Make sure you are looking at like for like and both documents are the general ledger view and not the entry view.

Report Export - Spreadsheet not working for one User: ECC6, SAPGUI710

Hi,
Our setup: SAP ECC6, Solaris10, Oracle 10g, SAPGUI Patch 9
Normal download like List ->export ->Local file is working
But when user click excel icon (list ->export->spreadsheet) it is not working and even it is not giving any error message.
Only one user ID we are getting problem, all other user ids are ok.
There is no issue with his work station or SAP GUI patch level as for other user id on his workstation export function is working fine. One more info with this problematic user id export function is not working in any workstation.
Any thing we need to do with user parameters/user settings or authorization????

It is not hte problem with workstation, as for other user ids on his workstation working fine. Also with his user id on other machines also not working.
Regarding trace in ST01, how to switch the trace for other users as there is no user selection option???
Is it ok if I procedd as below:
1. ST01 -> Edit menu ->Write to database
2. Selected all trace components
2. General Filters ->under "Trace for User Only" I give this problematic user id.
3. From menu "Goto" ->"Save Trace file in" I give this user id, client and time
But I am getting following message when I click "Analysis"
No records that correspond to these search criteria found

Does one Simplied Chinese character occupy 1 bype in SAPscript in Ecc6.0?

Recently,we upgraded our SAP system from R3 4.6C to ECC6.0. But one simplied chinese character occupy 1 byte when I printed a sapscript form.
It means that a field which length is 12 bytes can output 12 simplied chinese character, otherwise it could only output 6 simplied chinese character in R3 4.6C.
I don't know why? Cany anybody tell me?

If you are already proficient in java, start with the javadocs and exercises for j2me / midp available in plenty on the internet.

Multiline table binding only transfers one row after 4.6C to ECC6 upgrade

Good day everyone,
I have a workflow task binding that was working fine in our 4.6C system before our upgrade to ECC6. Now when I run the workflow, I can see that a table in the container is only transferring one line in the binding to the next task. I have verified that the first task successfully fills both lines of the table but the second line is lost when the container table is read from the next activity.
I have tried deleting and re-creating the bindings, thinking that perhaps something had changed in ECC6, but I still have the problem. Once again, the code worked exactly as it should in 4.6C.
Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

I do not attempt to pass the CURRENCYAMOUNT table back from the task that calls method POST. I put a breakpoint in the method POST code and there is where I see that the container only passes the last line of the table. Here's the code in SAP's standard POST method of BUS6035:
DATA: CURRENCYAMOUNT LIKE BAPIACCR09 OCCURS 0,
SWC_GET_TABLE CONTAINER 'CurrencyAmount' CURRENCYAMOUNT.
So my thought is that CURRENCYAMOUNT should have the two lines that are in the container. Also, note that this was working exactly as I think it should in 4.6C and the only change to the workflow was the upgrade to ECC6.

Calling a Report from one SAP system(4.7) to another SAP system(ECC6)

Hello Gurus,
Recently we have upgraded from 4.7 to ECC. While upgrading we were used one Z program to download the objects from 4.7 and used Z program to upload the objects into ECC.
Now we are planning to integrate Z program of 4.7 and Z program of ECC into one program in ECC. When we execute the program in ECC, system should call the program of 4.7 remotely and download the objects in ECC after providing the selections in selection screen and upload program take care as it is in ECC.
I am trying to use SUBMIT statement but I am not sure about the remote call. Could you please suggest on this.
If any one worked on this please suggest me.
In 4.7, the program is ZTOOL,

First of all, sorry for delayed reply, was quite busy this afternoon
But, let's see, only side you'll need to create RFC function module is target system (RFC) and at source system (ECC) you'll only need to call this function module defining your target system (see DESTINATION option for function module calls).
In this way you'd have following:
1 - program at ECC side that will call RFC function module (at 4.7 side)
2 - RFC function module at 4.7 side that will trigger (SUBMIT) target report, also in 4.7
3 - for last, your target report in 4.7
So, answering your question, it is possible to make your target report (3) to generate a file and download it at 4.7 side (application server or, locally, presentation server, whatever you pass as file path to RFC function module, and then and therefore to target program, as long as you have authorization to). In a simpler approach you'll call a program in a remote system (in your scenario that 4.7) making use of a RFC function module (also in 4.7) to allow you to. All started through a RFC call from a program in your source system (ECC).
Not sure my explanation was good enough, please let me know.

ECC6.0 WM creation of one TO per Storage Type

Hello,
I'm currently implementing WM at my customer using various Storage Types. During testing we created GR in IM for 2 materials (in one document), one of them is relevant to quality inspection but the other one is not.
TO creation has been done automatically (as expected) from interim storage type 902 GR area) to interim storage type 917 (quality area) for the first position. Also a position for the second line has been created from 902 to storage type 042 (main shelf).
Technically this is all OK. However I was expecting to have 2 TO's instead of 1 TO with 2 positions. How can I trigger the system to create a seperate TO per destination storage type?

Upgrade to which one: NW04s or ECC6?

We have a 4.6C system and we want to upgrade it.
We want to know what will be the advantage and disadvantage
if we upgrade it to NW04s or ECC6.0.

Hello Jennifer,
NW04s is a part of ECC600, basically the technology part of ECC600. ECC 60 has aplication components like SAP_APPL etc which NW04s doesn't have. Please remember NW04s is the technology part. It only has very limited application on it.
If you need to use the functionalities in SAP_APPL, SAP_HR, etc, you have to upgrade to ECC600.
