2 different COGS in CO-PA

Dear CO-PA gurus.
I have requirement to keep 2 different COGS in CO-PA.
For example, if sold qty is 10pcs and standard cost is $10
and managerial accounting purpose cost is $12,
I'd like to send both of $10x10pc=$100 and $12x10pc=$120.
So, in order to do it,
- In material master, put $12 into some field
- In CO-PA, create custom value field and put calculation method.
Is it possible?
Yoshi

Dear Yoshi San
Its possible. There are many options, I will describe only 3 here, because the last one is bit lengthy.
Store the 12 usd price in material master field.
1. Use a pricing routine in SD pricing procedure to read this 12 and update it in a statistical condition type. Map this cond type to a VF in copa
2. Use copa exit copa0002 to read it and update it in aVF
3. See if you can create a condition type in SD as a copy of VPRS. Change the condition category. It will be G in vprs. See if reading the price from Planned price field is allowed. If yes, create a cond type and add it in your pricing procedure.
This will be the simplest option

  • Seperate/Different COGS at the time of delivery from sales order

    Hi Friends,
I have a reqirement where i need to hit different COGS accounts at the time of goods issue for a sales order, based on distribution channel. All sales would have same order type and all the parameters (material, item catagories, customers etc etc) are same, except for the distribution channel.
For example  Sales Org/D.channel/Div   S001/01/01 should hit like
    CR: ABC Inventory
    DB: COGS 1
and for Sales Org/D.channel/Div   S001/02/01 should hit like
    CR: ABC inventory
    DB COGS 2.
    Limitations:
    1. I do not have choice of creating a seprate order types for these sales
    2.  Creating a new movement type is an option, but i would like this to make it as last option.
    Directions for soutions.
    1. Has any body implemented BADI for such case. If yes, request to share the BADI name.
    2. can we use Substitutions, Is subsitutuions possibile for replacing the GL Accounts at the time of posting?
Any directions would be of great help

    Dear,
You can put the substitution at the Document Line level, please write below logic:
    Prerequisite:
BKPF-BLART = "WA" & BSEG-HKONT = "you normal GL Account which will is picked normally"
    Substituin:
    BSEG-HKONT  User Exit
Now in this user exit as ABAPer to write code as per below logic
    1. Pick BSEG-VBEL2, pass the same in VBAK-VBELN and check VBAK-SPART if this is 01 then move COGS 1 to BSEG-HKONT where transaction is GBB,
similary write the sam elogic for Dist Channel 2
    Hope this helps

  • Different COGS GL Account for Sample Material delivery

    Dear All,
Sometime customer is selling their regular finished product as Free Sample, but User want different COGS GL Account whenever he posts PGI for Free Sample material. I checked Split valuation functionality as posted in the forum, but our case finished material managed in the batches and price indicator is S. Appreciate your advice to cater this requirement.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Santosh

    Hi,
    Option - 1.
Try testing with GBB - VAX and VAY general modification key.  You need to take care of Cost elements for the GL account assigned.  VAX not a cost element and VAY with cost element.
    Option - 2.
You may have a utility which can run as a background job, which transfers the Standard COGS to Sample COGS account for the specific delivery type (only for sample Delivery document type).
    Option - 3.
This is too lengthy for this requirement.  You might need to create a customer specific movement type.

  • One GL account and different COGS acct..

    Hi,
    I have this scenario where,
    Item : Lipstick
GL account : set by Item Group
We know that we can define 1 item with 1 item group.
    In this case,
when our client post a delivery,
they will send an amount of 10 lipsticks and amount of 2 for tester.
Thats mean two line with same item.
    **Accounting..
The 10 lipsticks will go to the default COGS,
and the 2 lipsticks, they want it to go to Another account called (tester account). In the same GL account, but different COGS account.
Any idea how to solve this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bruce.

    Hi Bruce
the only thing i can think of is that you have two item codes with two different item groups. Hence two different account determination. Then one line will be the normal item. the next line your sample line.
    Hope this helps

Some item i want it go to the default GL account but for the COGS acct i want it "TO GO DIFFERENT COGS ACCOUNT"
I created a new screen for this.. but i stuck there..
Is there any way i can do this?
    Thanks in advance..

Changed subject since "Any idea?" might not be too specific

    Hi Bruce
The best way to do this is not with development. You can set your gl by wh,item group or items. If the item belong to a specific group. Then make that item group with that certain gl acc determination and when posting documents sbo will do the rest. If it's specific items, then just do the gl acc determination on item level for those items. You can specify in detail for each item which sales, cogs, ect accounts to be used.SBO will do the rest again.

  • Different GOGS GL account for goods issue

    Hello SAP export,
The F&A department requests to generate different COGS GL account based on Customer Account Assignment Group when goods issue (or billing). Customer Account Assignment Group field name is KNVV-KTGRD. The solution is NOT possible at T-CODE OBYC (with GBB transaction (MM FI configuration for goods issue) because we are using the same materials. (All materials are with same valuation class in MATERIAL master).
I had posted this question in SD forums but the export suggests me to post in FI forum.
If you know any workable solution, please help.
    Great thanks in the advance!

  • BADI for movement type 601 and COGS GL account

    Hello SAP expert,
I am searching a solution from SAP enhancements.
The requirement is to provide different COGS GL account based on the Customer Account Assignment Group value(KNVV-KTGRD) when SAP performs goods issue. for example, movement type 601,
This means, when company ships goods to differnt customers, then SAP should generate different COGS GL account.
for example, when company ships goods to customer account assignment group '01' (Domestic customers), then SAP should generate COGS GL account 818100.
when company ships goods to customer account assignment group '02' (export customes), then SAP should generate COGS GL account 818200.
when company ships goods to customer account assignment group '03' (Testing - sample customers), then SAP should generate COGS GL account 818300.
    the logic is following:
KNVV-KTGRD COGS GL account at goods issue
    01 Domestic 818100
    02 Export 818200
    03 Testing - sample 818300
    04 Testing - VOM 818400
    05 Franchise 818500
Is there any similar BADI available to solve the above?
    Happy New Year!
    Regards,
    Sylvia Chen

    Hello,
First of all, Happy New Year!
    Thank you for the tip.
Enhancement LMR1M002 was already implemented in the current SAP environment.
The text is "Account grouping for GR/IR account maintenance".
Function "EXIT_SAPLKONT_011" is the component under Enhancement LMR1M002.
That is all I can see from SAP.
I am not an ABAP person.
Can you provide information for the next step?
    Thank you.

  • Different GL needs to pickup when we do PGI for specific Customers

    Hi Team,
our client is looking for scenario as below.
when we do the PGI system will pickup the GL's from the OBYC settings based on the condition.
    i.e  COGS 123 a/c DR
             inventory A/c
    for all scenarios.
now client is expecting when i creat SO for specific customer and if i do PGI system should pick  different COGS a/c not 123 considering above example.
please help me out is there any exit or badi or enhancement spot for this.
    Regards,
    Raman

    Hi Subho da
We cant change transaction type based on Customer
One option is to create a Z movement type and assign a new modifier in OMJJ instead of VAX
Usually, PGI is done from 601 movement type which triggers GBB VAX
Create a Copy of 601 and change VAX to ZVX and assign another GL in GBB ZVX in OBYC

  • COGS for occasional Sales orders (Delivery / AR Invoice)

Currently the account determination for ALL items is set by Item group / Item.
There is a requirement for less than 1% of all item Sales Orders / AR Invoices to be processed with a different COGS account to the automatic determination. (this circumstance is not necessary related to specific items, it could occur with any items).
The process will be to enter a SO, Delivery / AR invoice (all transactions could be entered by different people).
Any suggestions on how to process the requirements seemlessly, for the operator and affect the correct COGS account/s?

    hi,
In delivery document ,Click open form setting tick mark COGS accounts as visible & active both in table and row formats,It will shows Cogs accounts in rows,Enter/change manually COGS accounts.

Somebody please help me with this problem. I have a Delivery Document XYZ. How do I find different (COGS and Inventory Account) G/L Accounts corresponding to the Accounting document in SAP Delivery # XYZ? Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks and regards!

As per my understanding of your requirement is you want to see the accounting entries after PGI,if this is your issue,go to VL02N click on document flow, click on PGI document, top of the screen you can see display document click on it and the again top screen you can see  accounting documents once you click on it you can see the accounting entries for the transaction.

  • Calculating Profit of COGS - different ways of calculating

I found that in SAP B1 the profit calculation varies and it depends on where you look and the different settings allowed. For instance:
I am talking about the calculation method of COGS:
    1. In System Initialisation/Document Setting one can set the workings of Profit on say Last Calculated Price
    2. In individual (say Item Code ABC) Item Master Data one can set the calculation method on FIFO
    3. In another Item Master Data (say Item code FGH) can be set on Average Cost method
So now we have 3 ways of calculating COGS in the same system - so how can one achieve consitency?
My understanding is that setting 1 is not taken into account when the system charges COGS, so does anybody know what is the purpose of this setting?
    Thank you
    Robert
I am trying to debate this in order to confirm my understanding

    Robert--
The basic rule to understand in B1 is that specific settings take precedence over general settings.  The company-wide default settings that you find in the System Initialization screens set the general parameters for the system.  But they may be overridden on specific records - like the Item Master or BP Master.  On these, company policy may determine that certain items or business partners do not fit the general rules and should be treated differently in some regard.  So an authorized user may change the default settings for these records, either during the initial entry of the record or afterwards (if changes to the specific fields are permitted).  Similarly, users may change some settings on specific documents if they represent an exception situation that should not be forced to follow the usual rules.
The other consideration - which should make accountants happy - is that settings that affect journal postings generally cannot be changed once they have been used.  So for example, a customer's AR control account number cannot be changed once there are any transactions for that customer. An item's valuation method cannot be changed while there are quantities in the warehouse or open documents that may have caused journal postings.  These rules may not represent consistency, as you wish for, but they do enforce an integrity in the accounting process.
The place where these restrictions cause problems is if records are imported from a legacy system without regard to the system defaults.  Since these records are brought in and saved in a single process, they can have whatever settings are specified in the import process, which may or may not be the same as the system defualts you wanted.  Once these records are created and then used in transactions, it is very difficult to make them conform to what you wanted.  Changing the system defaults will never cause retroactive changes to existing records.
If you are having continuing problems with settings on new records, I would consider restricting authorization for adding or editing new records to those people who understand what the ramifications are.  Additional training for your personnel may also be helpful, now that you have a better understanding of how the system works.

  • PGI Date and COGS accounting date should be different

    Hi All,
I have a scenario where the client wants to post the COGS account when the material reach to the Customer and on the same date wants to Invoice the Customer, this is required for the Matching Concept of Accounting so that Recognition of Cost and Revenue should be on the same Date.
For example : Order (01-01-2012) --> Delivery (02-01-2012) - material send to Customer and it reach to the Customer on 10-01-2012 --> PGI (10-01-2012) --> Invoice (10-01-2012)
However in India we need to update the RG1 register at the time when we remove the material from our Factory, and to update it we need to do the PGI, and as soon as we do the PGI the COGS accounts will be Debited. Whereas the material will reach to the customer, say for example, after 10 days and then the invoice will be created, so the Posting of COGS account and Revenue account will be different.
For Example (In India) : Order (01-01-2012) --> Delivery (02-01-2012) --> PGI (02-01-2012)(NO Accounting to COGS) - material send to Customer and it reach to the Customer on 10-01-2012 --> COGS entry (10-01-2012) --> Invoice (10-01-2012)
    My Querry is:-
    1) Is it possible to achieve the above requirement that we do the PGI but do not make any accounting entry?
    2) If yes, then how can we recognise the COGS accounting on a later date, when the material reach to Customer?
    3) Is it possible through Standard SAP?
    4) If standard SAP procedure is not possible, kindly suggest the work-around and basic logic for the same.
For any further query feel free to ask.
    Thanks and regards,
    Amitesh Anand

    Hi Ram / Karthik,
I think VL01N screen Actual GI date can serve your purpose.
    Ram
If I change the Actual PGI Date to a future date and do the PGI, then the material document will be posted on the given future date, and so on Current Date (actual date when the material physically move out from the factory) we can not Update the RG1 Register. RG1 Register will be updated on the Posting Date of Material Document, so this will be an Excise Audit Issue.
Further, a report has to developed,
    > It should show the list of documents posted to the 'Deferred COGS GL and not reversed yet.
    > Based on the customer receipt, the reports should post an entry reversing 'Deferred COGS' GL to the regular 'COGS' GL
I am looking for the same work-around without defeating any Excise Legal norms. How do we reverse the "Deferred COGS G/L" and make the posting in actual COGS G/L, and what will be its implication on Inventory Ledger and Excise Audit?
    Thanks and regards,
    Amitesh Anand
