2 List of Values for 1 Text Item

Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.3.0 (Production)
Hi,
I have this text item on a block, 2 records groups, the user wants this functionality -
When in Enter Query display first record group and at any other time display the 2nd record group.
Can anyone please give me a clue how to accomplish this?
Thanks

You can also use one lov and do somesthing in the query like:
SELECT COL
  FROM TABLE
WHERE (CONDITION AND :SYSTEM.MODE='NORMAL')
    OR (OTHERCONDITION AND :SySTEM.MODE='ENTER-QUERY')

  • How to check old and new value for a text item attached to a lov?

    Hi,
    I am new to Forms.
    I need your help in following.
    I have a form which has a text item which is attached to a LOV. I want to track what changes are being done using that form. So i want to know what was old value and what is new value.
    I can get the new value as it is there in form field. how can i know what was the old value.
    Thanks
    Prashant Pathak

    This is wrong:
    name_in(':' ||l_audit_block.field_name)
    this is right and will get you the current value of the the item:
    name_in('l_audit_block.field_name');
    Assuming the name of you block is "l_audit_block" and the name of your item is "field_name".
    Please note name_in() returns your current value for an item. In your case this may or may not be the "old" value. I define "old" value as the value it was when it was queried. If that is what you are looking for you need to use the get_item_property() call that Steve described above.

  • Updating a value of a text item in a multi record block based on a change

    Hi,
    I need to change the value of a text item in a multi record block based on a change to another item's value in the same block.
    Suppose there's a text item in a multi record block called dt1 which is of type date, which is changed in a particular record. I want to change the values of the another item in the same multi record block, for all other records by running a loop through all the records in multi record block. I dont want to do it on the press of a button, it should do automatically on change. Help me resolve this issue.

  • How i can assign multiple values to tabuler text item (Help)

    HI
    IM PROGRAMMING ONE FORM AND I PUT THERE TABULER TEXT ITEM
    I WANT ASSIGN 63 VALUES TO THIS TEXT ITEM ONE BY ONE BY CODE I MEAN PUT FIRST VALUE IN THE FIRST TEXT ITEM ROW THEN SECOND TO THE SECOND TEXT ITEM AND LIKE THIS UNTIL I REACH TO THE LAST
    I MAKE LOV PUT I CAN ASSIGN ONE VALUE BY ONE VALUE EACH TIME DOUBLE CLICK ON THE TEXT ITEM ASSIGN ONE VALUE THEN DOUBLE CLICK ON THE SECOND ROW PUT MY BOSS WANT ASSIGN ALL VALUES 63 FROM ONE CLICK ON BUTTON

    Then you will have to create a when-validate-item trigger with a cursor based on your selection of your LOV . Loop through that cursor assigning the next in the next record by using the built-in function next_record. (put you selection for you value in a hidden item for example.
    something like this:
    Declare
    cursor c is
    select returnValueFromLOV
    from <yourtable>
    where yourdisplay value = :hidden_tem;
    begin
    for r in c loop
    next_record;
    item := r. returnValueFromLOV;
    end loop;
    exception
    when no_data_found
    your error handling;
    end;
    Hope it put you on the road to reach what you want

  • How do you write UNDO for a text item?? examples? or a REDO??

    How do you write UNDO for a text item?? examples? or a REDO??
    I created a pop-up menu with CUT, COPY, PASTE, UNDO, CLEAR for my text items.
    Using MAGIC menu type works great but there is no MAGIC for UNDO or REDO.....
    How do you write UNDO for a text item?? examples? or a REDO??
    I have Oracle Forms 6i...
    Lets say I highlight all the text in the text item, and start typing over it... then I realize OH NO it is the wrong text field...
    Now I want to UNDO the typing and get back to the previous text.
    I'd use the initial value that was populate right? How do I access that if that is correct?
    Thanks, Bill

    You can use;
    <ITEM> := Get_Item_Property(<ITEM>,DATABASE_VALUE);
    Or you will have to write a pre-text-item trigger;
    PRE-TEXT-ITEM:
    :CTRL.CURRENT_VAL := :<BLOCK>.<ITEM>
    MENU (PL/SQL):
    :<BLOCK>.<ITEM> := :CTRL.CURRENT_VAL;
    You may also want to set the item property back to ITEM_IS_VALID so that item validation does not fire again.

  • Modify List of Values for Task Numbers in standard webADI template

    We are using webADI to load costs to Projects.
    When User use the webADI template to load costs to the Projects, he has to enter the following data in the template -
    1. Project Number
    2. Task Number
    3. Expenditure Item Date
    4. Expenditure Organization
    5. Amount
    ..... and so on....
    User enter the Project Number first. Based on the selection of the Project Number, the corresponding Task Numbers are seen in the Task Number column.
    Our requirement is, Users should not be able to select the Task Numbers in webADI whose Transaction Dates (Transaction Start Dates and Transaction End Dates) are beyond vis-a-vis the current system date.
    In other words, can we modify the List of Values for Task Numbers in standard webADI template
    Can this acheived.

    Any help or advice?
    Thanks.

  • Spaces removed when inserting a value into a text item

    Dear members,
    (Forms 6i c/s)
    I have a databased function returning a string of characters (varchar2). This value can have spaces at its end.
    When I put this value into a text item in Forms, the spaces at the end are removed.
    How can I avoid that ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
    There is no elegant solution for this. Metalink has a discussion of the topic in note nr 247715.1

  • How to get the list of values for a dynamic parameter using Web Services SDK?

  • How to access each row value for a database item

    On my form I have a database datablock that represents a table in my database.
    5 rows are shown with a scroll bar that can be viewed to show the rest.
    The user is able to change some of the Database Item values represented in this datablock for any row shown in the datablock.
    I need to validate the correctness of the users change before allowing the database datablock to update the table in the database.
    But a database item in a datablock will represent a value for every row in the table. So how do I access each row value for a database item separately. What is the PL/SQL syntax?
    thanks,
    michelle

    In my situation it was better to use the loop instead
    of a when validate trigger because...Well it was clearly not better to use a loop that doesn't work. I don't understand what you're not clear on about the item and record validation triggers. If you have a specific validation rule for a single field (such as a date that cannot be in the future), that would go in a When-Validate-Item trigger on the date item. If the user enters a future date, your code would display an error message and raise a failure. Raising a failure prevents the item from being marked as valid. Invalid items prevent the record from being inserted/updated. Sometimes you have a validation rule that requires looking at more than one item at a time, such as two items that must either both be NULL or NOT NULL. In that case, you could not use a When-Validate-Item trigger because you can't clear or populate both at once. So then you would use a When-Validate-Record at the block level and if one field is NULL and the other isn't, you would display an error message and raise a failure. Forms is very civil in this respect; we don't throw exceptions around here, but then I digress.

  • Would like to use apex_item to popup a calculator for a text item field, is this possible in apex 4.2.2?

    would like to use apex_item to popup a calculator for a text item field, is this possible in apex 4.2.2?

    I imagine you could reverse engineer what APEX delivers when you declaratively choose text field with calculator.
    For example, the generated source includes an event:
    onclick="calculatorPopUp_p_t01();"
    These get added to the attributes of your apex_item.text() call.
    Alternatively you just paste the entire generated content, escaping the necessary data.

    I have a table xx_querywith fields
    text_item,query
    i have inserted into the xx_query table
    insert into xx_query(text_item,query)
    values(text_item1,'select sysdate from dual');
    insert into xx_query(text_item,query)
    values(text_item2,'select sysdate-1 from dual');
    I have created a record group dynamically and i am getting the query from the query column of the xx_query table into the record group(say test_rg)
    I have created a LOV test_lov and thr set_lov_property i have populated the test_rg query into the test_LOV
    is it possible for me to set the return item of the LOV dynamically so that i can get the LOV on the item which i want to ?

    Hi All
    thanks for your responses
    I have Created a control item and assigned the return value of the LOV to the control item
    and i have assigned the LOV to the text item that i want
    Currently when i navigate to the text item the LOV is visible
    but when i select a value from the LOV the value is not getting populated into the text item
    I have assigned the value of the control item to the text item
    but i am not sure in which trigger to write the code so as when i select the value from the LOV the value should be shown on the form populating in the text item

  • Values for htmldb_item.text  field do not display in CSV output

    HTML DB experts,
    I have a report query with the following 2 items in the SELECT statement:
    wwv_flow_item.display_and_save(2, DOC_CD, 10) DOC_CD,
    htmldb_item.text(3, DOC_DESC, 50, 255) DOC_DESC
    I have enabled the CSV output for this report. The problem is, when I generate a csv file, only the DOC_CD (wwv_flow_item.display_and_save) displays. The values for the DOC_DESC (htmldb_item.text) do not display. What do I need to do to get the DOC_DESC to display?
    Thanks for your help.

    Items rendered using htmldb_item generate HTML tags on the form, not plain text. You are right, the CSV export excludes them.
    Your best best is to create another report region on some other page with the same query except replace all the htmldb_item() calls with regular columns i.e. make it a read-only report and use the "export: CSV" template and put up a link to this page at the bottom of your editable report (instead of the builtin CSV link). This way when you click on this link, it will generate your report and immediately offer to export it to CSV
    Hope this helps.

  • Increase In GR value for the Line Item

    Dear Friends
    I have a Cost center PO with "text item"  ordered for Quantity 10000 PC for  an amount of 10000 USD. MIGO has been done 4/5 times where the quantity inwarded equalled the GR value.  in the month of Novembeer  the user carried out GR for a quantity of 290 PC but suddenly the GR value was higher i.e 434 USD. User cancelled the document using MBST and the Value which got cancelled is 290 usd only and not 434(which should have been).
    My query is why system behaved abnormally? There is no item change log in the PO as User has not changed the unit price for the PO. I have checked the PO history Table " EKBE" and i do not find any changes to the Value of PO during or before the period , no changes are displayed in the Table w.r.t value.
    Secondly why during cancellation system only considered the PO value not the GR value. Where should I look for  the reasons of this abnormality.
    Thanks

    this can happen if any freight or packaging condition value was present while GR but deleted or altered befire the cancellation of document.. pl check in MSEg for amount in LC and delivery costs.

  • Select list return value displayed in another item

    The subject pretty much defines it. I have 3 items on a page select list, displays as text (based on LOV), and a text box. My idea is to display a control number in the select list. When the user selects the number that they want I would like the return value to fill in the displayed as text item. Then user can then use the text box to update that information.
    My question is how do I get the return value to display on the users selection?
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Try to compute that item.
