2 programs in one project

How do I go about making two program in one project.
i.e. I have the main program that can run on it's own as well as a
completely seperate program but still both under the same project.
I would like to have seperate program menu entries as well. Right now
it looks like the second program was incorporated into the main program
but since the main program never calls it, I can't run it.
I have Labview 8.0.1 Developers suite
Ron

Rhayes,
I'm not quite sure what your question is. I'm guessing that you want to build two different executables from the same project and specify different startup vis. All you're going to need to do is build two different executables under the build specifications and specify different startup vis. And they you can build two different Installers which should put two menu items in your start bar. Let us know how it goes?

  • How can I pass variables from one project to another using Javascript?

Hi all, I am trying to do this: let learners take one course and finish a quiz. Then based on their quiz scores, they will be sent to other differenct courses.
However, I wish keep track on their previous quiz scores as well as many other variables.
I found this nice widge of upload/download variables by CPguru (http://www.cpguru.com/2011/05/18/save-and-load-data-widget-for-adobe-captivate-4-and-adobe -captivate-5/). However, this widget works by storing variables from one project in local computer and then upload it to another project.
My targeted learners may not always use the same computer though, so using this widget seems not work.
All these courses resided in a local-made LMS which I don't have access to their code. Therefore, passing variables to PHP html files seems not work.
Based on my limited programing knowledge, I assume that using Javascript to pass variables may be the only possible way.
Can someone instruct me how to do this?
    Thank you very much.

If you create two MIDlet in a midlet suite, it will display as you mentioned means you can't change the display style.

  • Can I copy clips from one project to another?  The clips are still frames captured within a video event.

Can I copy clips from one project to another?  The clips are frames saved as stills from a video event.  I try the copy & paste but it does not seem to work.

The video was converted into MP4 and then I could get it into iMovie events.  I had right clicked and saved farmes as stills.  ABout 50 of them,  When I tried to copy and paste those stills into another project I couldn't. They came up blank.
I ended up going to a Genius appointment at my APPLE store this afternoon and was told that those "stills" aren't really anything. Not a .jpg or video, so the program doesn't recognize them.  So instead I'm using the Project with the 50 stills and copying other .jpgs and video into it.  (This is for a 1961 Class Reunion, so it's old stuff).  Seems to work so far.
So bottom line seems to be I can use these stills created from a video in the project in which they were created, but no where else.  Do you know a way around this?

  • Is it possible to have too many keyframes in one project in Premiere?

    Hi all,
I'm using Premiere 6 on a Windows 7 ULT machine.
Is it possible to have too many keyframes in one project in Premiere?
I'm getting app crashes when I try to re-open a certain project in Premiere 6 and it seems that if that file has over 93 keyframes, then it will not re-open.  But I can re-open that exact same project file with 93 keyframes in it, no problem.
But if I go any further and create any more keyframes than 93 in a new re-saved version of the exact same file, then that file will not re-open and I get an app crash... you can see screenshots of the two Windows app crash info panels below that I'm getting from three different bad Premiere project files that I've created so far.
I've tested and tested what is going on here and this seems to be what is causing the bad files.  I've re-created the scenario and re-created files with over 93 keyframes from the same base project file that will still open... as soon as I get more than 93 keyframes in this file, then that newly saved file will not re-open after I close and try to re-open it.
This is 75 keyframes in one still image clip, 14 keyframes in another still image clip and 2 keyframes each in two other still image clips in a single project file... that is the limit... if I create any more keyframes in the clip that has 75 keyframes, the new file will save and render, but it won't re-open once it has been closed.
The two slightly different app crash info panels show, in the first one below,
    "Fault Module Name: StackHash_e98d"
... and the second one shows,
    "Fault Module Name: PREMINFO.dll"
... both messages with a little more different info in each one.  I get either of the two error info panels when trying to re-open all three bad files that I've created with over 93 keyframes in them.  That is, two of the files alternate between giveing "StackHash_e98d" and "PREMINFO.dll" when trying to open them and one of them always shows the "Fault Module Name: PREMINFO.dll" error.
So even the error messages are inconsistent with two of the bad files.
I've searched the internet for this error in association with Premiere and I've also searched on this forum and found nothing.  Can anyone shed any light on this?
    Thanks,
    digi

    Bill,
Even though I figured out a work around, I was still interested to know if these file opening crashes are related to Virtual Memory.
So on the topic of Virtual Memory... a few months ago I was troubleshooting a different problem in Premeire and I found this information...
"To improve performance in Premiere Pro, adjust the size of the paging file to a maximum of twice the amount of installed RAM."
Previous to that time three months ago or so, I had my Virtual Memory settings at the default automatic setting, but I tried setting my VM to twice the amount of installed RAM, and I've had it set that way ever since, just to make sure I'm optimizing the VM performance for Premiere and other apps.
But that isn't making any difference in this case.  Today I also found information in a search that says to troubleshoot StackHash crashes, one should turn off "DEP" in the system settings for the application with the crash problem... according to the paragraph below, from the second post down by Chris on this tdistler.com page... http://tdistler.com/2009/04/10/stackhash-and-application-crashes-on-windows
Even though this was written in 2009 with Windows Vista in mind, many things for Vista work in Windows 7... it says,
"Here’s how 99 percent of Vista users can fix a StackHash failure. I’ll walk you through it step by step:
    Method A:
    1. Open your Start menu and click Control Panel
    2. Browse to “System Maintenance” then “System”
    3. In the left panel, select “Advanced System Settings” from the available links
    4. You should now see the System Properties Window, which will have three sections. The top section is labeled “Performance” and has a “Settings” button. Click this button.
    5. Select the “Data Execution Prevention” tab.
    6. Select the option which reads “Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select”
    7. Use the “Browse” button to locate the executable file for the application you were trying to start when you received the StackHash error, and click Open to add it to your exceptions list.
    8. Click Apply or OK to commit your changes."
But I tried this and none of the three problem files that I encountered would open... I still got the StackHash_e98d or PREMINFO.dll crash errors.
So anyway, I'm a ways past that in my project now, just continuing with more keyframes over the number of 78 in separate but identical still image clips... that allows me to successfully work with this project with as many keyframes as I need.
    Thanks again,
    digi

  • Copy tracks from one project to another

(Hopefully, I'm just missing something obvious. Programs like Final Cut Pro and PhotoShop make it very easy to have multiple projects open and copy and paste between them.)
I frequently copy tracks I like from one project to another. Although it's possible to do, it seems a given that Logic doesn't not like to have more than one project open at a time. This complicates it a bit, but I just copy the track I want, close the current project and open the new one.
I wish in the edit menu or in the track drop-down menu there was a straight forward "Copy Track" option. Since there isn't, I just select the whole track (which is essentially all the regions) and copy and then paste into new project. The problem is that it brings the content over fine, but not the track info (name, etc.)
Is there some better way to accomplish this? I don't want to export MIDI tracks as audio, so the Export option doesn't work.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Harmonica_Lessons wrote:
I looked at the video again and unless they did some editing in FCP (which would have to be the case), the following frame after selecting the regions shows both gone simultaneously.
It is quite possible of some FCP editing but as I said first you can do that very fast using two neighbor keys so it can look as one magic shot. The screen capture tools use low FPS settings for media capturing about 15 fps for example.
I tend to occasionally put a blank track between other tracks as a separator (been doing this since the Master Tracks Pro days).
I think you can try a little trick for doing that. You can create a "Dummy" empty region inside a folder track for example, and use the folder track(s) as separator(s). I have not tried that yet, cause I'm away of my Logic but it must work this way.

  • How can I export many short videos from one project?

We had an awards ceremony, and the entirety of the program was filmed and is now saved on my computer as one large, continuous file.  I would like to edit it down to only the acceptance speechers (there are about 10 or so) and export them to MPEGs to share online.  Is there a way I can do this from within one project or do I need to start over every time, editing each speech out individually and then exporting?
Let me know if my phrasing was unclear.  Thanks for helping!

I would offer the principles involved in the following blog post for handling the task that you describe.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/06/pe11-project-assets-organization-for.html
This involves trimming of the source (in Project Media area) in Preview Windows with the program's Set In Set Out points and the saving the trims as subclips in the Project Media and/or trims dragged to the Timeline.
If interested, please let me know if you need clarification on anything written.
We will be watching for your progress.
    Thank you.

  • One project published with two stage sizes and shapes?

I’ve got one project that must be deployed in two different size & shape layouts, online running in a 760 x 700 box (almost square) and also on a wide screen kiosk running 1120 x 700 (wide rectangular). Maintaining two separate layouts has been time consuming and thus costly.
The compromise solution is to design a 1120 x 700 layout with the core functional elements placed on the right side of the stage, branding, supporting data, and eye candy filling the left. The idea is to crop the stage in the online version showing only the right most 760 x 700 content (all the core elements) while showing the complete stage for the kiosk. Branding for the online version is provided by the html container.  I know how to use masks and edit the html to show only the left side of the stage but I’m not sure how to show only the right side of the stage since moving the mask does not change the (0,0) point of the stage.

As well as the reply from Anish about using your program on 2 computers, you need to ask in the program forum for how to best use the programs to do what you want

  • Embed one project into another (nesting)

One feature that I would love to have in a slide show software is the ability to embed one project into another. Is this a feature of Keynote?
Here is where it would be handy:
I was in a band an we needed to put all of the lyrics for our original songs up on the big screen when we were playing. Neither or "set list" nor order was finalized, but was going to be 10 songs out of a possible 15. We wouldn't know until only minutes before going on. Since I play bass and had to be on stage, I had to have it simple enough for a 12 year old kid to run the presentation.
I could figure no way that I could possibly cut and paste and remove all the slides into the correct order right before going on stage. I worried about this for 2 days and figured out what to do.
I used Adobe Indesign and set each song up as it's own file. Then using InDesign's build book feature, I linked all the files into a book file. 5 minutes before the show, I resorted the chapters in the book file, and exported to PDF. I ran the PDF in full screen mode and the 12 year old girl just sat there and hit the spacebar for our songs. It worked perfectly.
Is there a way that I can do separate projects in Keynote and assemble them quickly like I did with InDesign and Acrobat?
    Thanks,
    Kirk

OK, if you don't want them all in the same Keynote file so you can hyperlink around the file to the desired slide numbers, then try this.
Create your Keynote of a song. Name it easily so you can find it easily. At the end of each song keynote, put a "Return to Index" and hyperlink it to the Keynote with the program. On the program slide you can Name the songs, Song 1, Song 2, Song 3, and Song 4. Of course, you can enter the name of the song in the program slide. If you use the generic name the process of creating the hyperlink is an easy one (it's even easy if you enter the name of the song you want). If you keep all song Keynotes in the same folder with the index, it's a matter of selecting the file title as the Keynote slideshow to hyperlink to. So you can change the four songs in a program presentation in about 2 minutes max. so you get:
    File name: Agenda
    Modern Church of God
    Sunday, October 10, 2010
    Reverent I M. Religious, presiding
    10:30 am
    Call to order
Song 1 (hyperlink to "Rock of Ages")
    Processional
    Prayer
Song 2 (hyperlink to "Bringing in the Sheaves")
    Announcements
    Reading
Song 2 (hyperlink to "Ave Maria")
Sermon, "How do we maximize our resources."
Song 3 ((hyperlink to "Jesus Loves Me")
    Digressional
Song 4 (Oh, What I friend we have in Jesus)
At the end of the Rock of Ages lyrics Place
"Return to Program" and hyperlink to "Agenda"
For the next week, "Agenda 10/17" Change the hyperlinks for songs to the new selection of keynotes you have created earlier. It will take about a minute or two to make the changes. You do each one by clicking the Enable hyperlink selection box when one of the song references is selected. The pull the pull down menu to Keynote Slideshow. A box will open. Go to your folder with all song and agenda files. Select the song keynote you want to access with the click, when you select the song file and click "Open" your connection is made. You then project the agenda file on Sunday morning. When you reach song 1, you click on it and the song's keynote comes up. When the song is finished, click on Return to Program and your program Keynote is back up.
The only time consumer in this process is entering the song lyrics into their own keynote files. If you have somewhere to copy and paste the words, then it's easy. The mechanics of creating the weekly connection is very easy. Once you have your resources created, preparation time for a Sunday program will be only a long as it takes you to enter the planned agenda components.

  • Why won't Garage band let you open more than one project a time..

Why won't Garageband let you open more than one project a time???? If thats the way its is set up...that is really lame. Even the worst audio programs allow you to run a few projects at a time.
I recorded a gig the other night... then I dumped the whole set on to one track. When I wanted to copy and paste individual songs into their own project it made me close the current project. Is there a way around this???
    Joe

Heh, heh. Yes, this is true. Alas... BUT, if you want to compare one project with another, it can be done.
There is another advantage to making another copy of GarageBand. I created a copy and call it "GarageSymphony" that contains all my instrument specific icons for orchestral packs. This way I do not mess up the GarageBand application.
I would not be surprised to find multiple windows become available in GB4. I was more than pleased to find this change in iMovie 6.

  • How can I move an original Version from one Project to another Project?

How can I move an original Version from one Project to another Project?

    From the Aperture User Manual:
To move an image into a different project
Drag the image [from the Browser] into another project in the Library inspector.

  • Open just one project at a time

Is there any way to just load one project, instead what happens now, whcih is loading ALL my projects each time I open Final Cut pro X.
    Thanks
    PS
    Any news on an update?

    Hey D.,
You can organise your projects into folders in the Project library area ... but when you start FCP X it will still load those projects.
    http://help.apple.com/finalcutpro/mac/10.0/#ver79aa468d
If you truly want to prevent FCPX from loading those projects at all then you can to manage that yourself at the Finder level, again by simply organising those projects in folders. Look in your user's Movies folder (~/Movies) and you'll see a folder called "Final Cut Projects" ... if you simply create a new folder called "Final Cut Projects (Inactive)" then you can move projects that you don't want to be loaded in there. The same goes for your Events with the "Final Cut Events" folder.
Apple recommend this in their document here :
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4740
And as Innocentius notes, there's a super simple 3rd party app available from Assisted Editing called "Event Manager X" which puts a straightforward graphical interface on the process, its only 5 USD :

  • Aperture 3 project does not display any images in one Project

This is a strange situation.  The bullets below outline the situation:
The project does not display any images
When I place the pointer over the project it shows there are 500+ images
I have located the RAW images stored in my aperture library
I can pull up the images using a smart folder and searching for photos taken on the event day
This is happening only to one of my projects that I know of (weird!!)
I have tried to 're-add' the image by both importing and dragging and dropping into the project, neither works
    I tried the following basics:
    Fixed permissions
    Rebuilt the database
Tried to re-import the data, but when I have the 'don't import duplicates' these are not an option
Found the images in my Aperture library
I created another project and drug all of the images into that project
Any idea how I can fix this?
My fear is that if I delete the original project, the original master images will be deleted.

The most common cause of this is some sort of stuff in the search box at the top of the browser that you don't expect to be there. Just clear it and all your images should show up.
    RB
One note - if you drug your images from one project to another it moves them vs copies them unless you hold down the option key.

  • I'm using ver. 3.4.5. After having a problem importing  some photo's I now have all my library showing up in the one project. I'm worried about just deleting this project in total. Any help would be appreciated

After importing a small group of photo's I noticed that aperture didn't create a project for them as usual. The only place I could see them was in last imported. While last importwas open I selected the photo's and told aperture to creat a new project using the selected one's. I named the project with the date using all cap's so I would know which one it was.  What I have now is my whole library showing up in this one project.  If I import more pictures It does two things. A new project is created as it normally does. These new thumbnails also show up in the problem project. I tested to see what would happen if I deleted one old picture while the problem project was open. It went to the trash. It was also removed from its original project.  If I ignore this what seems to happen when importing at this time is that a new project is created that you can open, it acts normal. The file only contains the correct amount pictures.  If I then go to the problem project the thrumbnails show here also.
About 6 mos ago I switch to Aperture from iphoto. I never combined the two libraries.  I have around twelve thousand photo's. December 1st I backed up my imac with Time Machine. I don't want to back up again until I get this problem in check.
    Thanks for any help, Dale

    Hi Andy,
    I'm using Mac OSX 10.7.5
No the one with the caps seems to be working normally. This project with the caps now has four files. Originally I created it with about fifteen. I deleted eleven of them and edited the remaining four. The four files each have one version and its original. It wasn't until after I completed this work that I noticed the privious project when opened and scrolled had the entire library in it.
The test I did went like this. With the problem opened I deleted one file that I new existed prior to this problem.      I than opened that project that I new it was from to see if it got deleted and found it gone and moved to trash. I think that tells me that if I delete all the files in the problem project I'll be in trouble. I also have inported to projects each with one file that I edited. They are working fine. I took a look in the problem project and this last
two imports show the thumdnails in it.
Currently on my Hard Drive I have 275 GB free space.  My photo's take up 138 GB. As I said on Dec. 1st I backed up the system using time machine. So all of Dec. and part of Jan. inports won't be on it. I could work around the problem project and move those file to a safe place. I think it best not to back up the system with Time Machine until I'm confident the Aperture is runing properly. I'm happy that I control these system backups manually.
I'll need to find out how to copy the Aperture library to another place. I'm sure I can poke around and fined out the process.
Thanks Andy for the come back!

  • Copying a single file from one project to another????

    Hello,
New to Mac from a PC, tried search with no results. I have a single image I would like to display in 2 separate projects in Aperture. (As I will be writing to a disc and print later). How do I copy the image from Project A to Project B, making is available to both??? Thanks in advance!

There are two different ways to do this.
The first way is literally exactly what you are asking for but may not be what you really want. You can copy the image (and corresponding master) by holding down the option key while dragging the image from one project to the other - make sure the drop target is the actual little yellow project box and not something inside the project box. When you do this there will be two completely separate copies that have nothing to do with each other. If you make an adjustment to one the other will not change, if you delete one master the other will still be there.
The second way may be what you actually want - if you create any type of album within or even outside of a project you can drag any images from any project into it - no copies are made but the image will "show up" in that album no matter what project it happens to live in. This is usually a better way to group images together from multiple projects no matter what the purpose.

  • Can EJB and BC exist at the same time in one project?

having to use ADF's BC and EJB to access data in both way due to the special requirements, but I am always getting the deployment failure.
can Ejbs and BC components exist at the same time in one project?

    thanks for your reply.
I considered to separate the BC and EJB as the separate project. I just use the EJB component to implement the dynamic tree menu, whether a little make a mountain out of a molehill if you as a separate project.
