2 Way Conversation, random 3rd person?

Currently have been in a few calls with my friend. It would be me and them and no one else. They would leave the room and it'd be completely dead quite. Apon sitting here alone for a good 30mins now, I can hear clicking and typing through a different microphone. The clicks and keys sound different from what my friend uses. Is it possible someone is listening in on our calls and video calls? This seems to have happened in the past with another friend of mine. He lives in the middle of no where and down a long long dirt road, yet we both kept hearing cars go screaming past. No TVs/Music or anything was on for both of us and we both kept quite and heard a random light cough and I said "Is someone else in this call?" Then quickly heard a loud shuffle and click and the sound was gone. Again..is it possible someone is listening in on my calls? I have Spyware, Malware, and a Anti-Virus and nothing has been found.

I don't know what is going on, but I've had a similar issue. I don't know if they were listening or not though, it just sounded like we were picking up snippets of someone else's conversation. (Besides, I would think a decent spy would remember to turn off their mic! XP )

Unfortunately, most of my advice is in the "hindsight is 20-20" category.
First off, I would never have purchased the peripheral accessories until the 14 day return period had expired. Second, you learned the hard way what the "14 days" really means.
Too bad you didn't do any homework, reading this and other forums and tech sites. Even word of mouth from others. That, more than anything could have steered you towards different phone choices from the get-go and I will leave that there with no further comment other than to say most of the issues you described have been discussed in this forum, ad nauseam.
Once you got into the refurbished phone exchanges, that is where things really went haywire. What someone tells you over the phone is a sketchy proposition, and when it comes down to it, it's your word against theirs.
I think Verizon tried to make it right, though. Remember, they don't make the phones. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
You stated yourself you were a satisfied Verizon customer before this. Had the first two phones performed as they should, you would still be a satisfied Verizon customer.
Doubt any of that will make you any happier, but after you went through the effort of writing such a long post, I thought I'd try.

It seems that I'm not allowed to link my iPad mini and my work iMac using two different accounts, so I'm wondering how to make my single personal account work for both, while keeping personal vs work files reasonably separated.

Is it possible for you to upgrade your account to iCloud Drive? That would mean, all Macs upgraded to Yosemite, and all mobile devices to iOS8?

In iCloud Drive you could create two separate custom folders, one for work documents and one for private documents and organize your documents there. Don't use the app specific folders (Keynote, Pages, Numbers, ...) , because you can only create one level of folders inside these folders.

Hi Venugopal,
If you add approvers using beekeeper for that resource AND that you use Outlook, you can see who is 'in charge' of that resource, ie the person that will hand over the keys to that room when you need them. That person is the only one who may be able to tell you who has booked the resource, you can then go and 'negociate' ;o)
In Zimbra (1.5.1.5) you can't see the contacts..

I'm saying that you give Google the .Mac URL to get to your sitemap but use the registered domain name for normal access.
You are promoting your site with www.RedCottageInc.com but, because it is masked, Google needs your web.mac address to access the verification file and the sitemap so that it can spider your site.
You normally upload your sitemap as "sitemap.xml". You can test its accessibility by entering
http://web.mac.com/username/WebSiteName/Sitemap.xml in your browser.
Google needs this URL to get to the sitemap - visitors will use www.RedCottageInc.com.
Google wants to get to the verification file and the sitemap but your website visitors don't.
I guess all this is confusing if you haven't done it before and I don't know that I am explaining it very well. The best way to get it is to go through all the steps of creating the verification file and sitemap, uploading them to your site folder and adding and verifying in your Google control panel.

When we put it into our computer is asks us to switch the Apple ID, but we don't want to mess anything up for his work.

iPads are meant to be single user devices, with single ID's. The only way I can think of is if you burned cd's of your music, then ripped them on the work computer that he syncs with and get them on the device from there (I'm guessing this will work, I don't purchase music do I don't know if the DRM travels when you burn cd's or not).
You can't run 2 different apple ID's on the same iPad.

Yes, you can. I did it awhile ago by recording a voice memo and synching that memo to my computer. I then pulled up the memo in GarageBand, and used the ringtone template there to create the ringtone and share it back to iTunes, and re-synch to the iPhone. Once it's back on the iPhone, go to settings to assign it as a ringtone for a person, or as an alarm, alert, or whatever. Anyway, that's how I did it. There may be an app out there by now that would make the process simpler. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know a way to use Automator to convert CMYK color mode images to RGB without having to have Photoshop or such installed? All Automator add ons I have seen thus far involve either Adobe products or other 3rd party image programs.

Yes, my associate who owns the website has neither PS, or GC. So if we can set up a way to automate this via email that would be great. I think I am actually about half way there, and I hope you will be kind enough to help me get the rest of the way.

This works up until I call my Automator workflow. In my workflow I currently have the scale item and the convert to jpeg item.
Question 1: How do we tell Automator what files to use as an input? Do I have to add a Get Selected or Get Specified Finder Items? Can I use the 'filename' variable from the above script?

I want to save a Messages conversation with someone, and start a new conversation with the same person. When I select the person from my Contacts to start the new conversation, I am returned to the old conversation. How can I start a completely new conversation while saving the old one?

You cannot. That is what the threading is intended to do.

Spa2102 only one way conversation

Hi hope some one can point me in the right direction.
I have unlocked a spa2102 originally from sunrocket and set it up to use varphonex.
I have followed the guides from varphonex to set up the device.
I have a static internet address of 67.63.***.***
and run dhcp on internal of 192.168.0.2 etc
the adapter conects to varphonex and is registered have 3 lights on on / internet and phone 1 (phone 2 switched off) turn phone on and receive a dial tone, say ring a 2nd phone (mobile) the mobile will ring but the voip phone is quiet. when the 2nd phone (mobile) is answered that phone can hear the voip phone but I can not hear the person from the mobile. also the mobile you can hear yourself as a echo if that helps anyone.
The adaptor is connected directly to the internet, and 5 port hub, dect 6 phone in spa2102 and laptop plugged into 5 port hub
I can surf the internet through the adaptor using the laptop.
also if any one could give me any of the default settings of the spa2102 may help.

Are you using a router in front of the SPA2102 or it is just the SPA2102 connected to the modem.
With the device you can also set a stun server which is a work around for one way audio problems as well. you can try stun.voipuser.org or any other stun server online.

Unfortunately conference calls are not an application that Facetime supports. In my opinion, it would probably not work very well with personal Lan networks because it would require too much bandwidth, since streaming video does require quite a bit of it. So for now, it has to be one on one.
