2003 upgrade

Hi, I was just wondering if it was possible to still get the windows 2003 upgrade for the iPaq h5450 as some of the farm software we have isnt compatible with the new windows version but covers 2003 to wm 6 and so i wondered if it was possible to still get the upgrade for our old 2002 ipaq

Hi and welcome to the HP Support Community.
The iPaq forums can be found through this thread.  If the update you are looking for is even available, that's the place where users who know, can be found.
Good luck.

  • Export to Excel alignment off after Windows 2003 upgrade

    Hi All,
I have an application that uses Crystal Reports 10(sp6) and VB6 that has worked fine for a few years and now that I have upgraded the server to Windows 2003 the alignment of the excel output is off.  All pages (45 of them) get printed on their own row in the output xls file.  The report gets filled in during the execution of the VB6 executable and then gets exported to PDF and then to excel.  PDF is fine but the excel output is unacceptable.  I've been playing with the different exportoptions and cannot seem to get the alignment I need.  Basically we need the rows and columns to align.
In further testing I have exported the report with data (our original rpt file is just a shell that we fill in with data) to a crystal reports file.  I then have taken this report through the Crystal Reports 10 IDE and was able to export it and the output looks exactly like I need it to.  So I'm sure there is settings to accomplish the output.
    This is the original code:
    With My_Crystal_Report
        .ExportOptions.Reset
        .ExportOptions.FormatType = crEFTExcelDataOnly
        .ExportOptions.ExcelMaintainColumnAlignment = False
        .ExportOptions.ExcelUseFormatInDataOnly = True
        .ExportOptions.ExcelConstantColumnWidth = CDbl(800)
        .ExportOptions.DestinationType = crEDTDiskFile
        .ExportOptions.DiskFileName = filePath & ".xls"
        .Export (False)
    End With
Here are the settings when I run the report through the Crystal Reports 10 IDE:
    - Custom: Data is exported according to selected options
    - Constant column width (in points): 36.0
    - Export object formatting
    - Maintain relative object position
    - Maintain column alignment
One thing I was wondering is that there are different versions of Visual Studio including VS2008 and I was wondering if the Crystal Reports that gets installed with them could be interfering.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Is there a setting that I'm missing in the code, registry, etc.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jim

    Hi,
The only other difference I found as far as I could see was the following two files:
    CRXF_XLS.dll
    CRXF_XLS_RES_EN.dll
Once loaded into the bin directory they are no longer a difference but output is still the same.
There are other differences as far as Only In CRW32.EXE (only Crystal Reports differences by description)
    CRXF_HTML.DLL  10.0.5.75
    CRXF_HTML_RES_EN.DLL  10.0.5.75
    CRXF_RTF.DLL  10.0.5.604
    CRXF_RTF_RES_EN.DLL  10.0.5.604
    CRXF_WORDW.DLL  10.0.5.604
    CRXF_WORDW_RES_EN.DLL  10.0.5.604
    U2FCR.DLL  10.0.0.552
    U2FTEXT.DLL  10.0.5.604
    X3FCREN.DLL  10.0.0.552
    X3FTXEN.DLL  10.0.5.603
Do you think that a possible way to fix this would be to I uninstall Crystal Reports and reinstall without the sp6 and then find out which sp was installed on current windows 2000 server and install that and see what I receive for output?
I have been spending way to much time on this and really need to bring the customer in so that they know we have this level of an issue.  Do you also think maybe we should open a ticket? I don't know if this is feasible as you mentioned there is no support for Crystal Reports 10.
    Thanks,
    Jim

  • Window 2003 upgrade to window 2008 R2 for Moss 2007

I am currently running Moss 2007 on window 2003 32 bit. I need to move it to 2008 r2 64bit.
    currently 1sql, 1webapp
i plan to add  64bit webapp(running window 2008 r2 64bit) to the farm, then remove the 32 bit webapp. here are my question
is that an ok approach since msdn recommend remove sql server first?
patch? does it have to be the same level? do i install 64 bit patches on win08 R2 or 32 bit? I am assuming 64 since i am running 64 bit window?
what about custom web part, fab40? do i need to redeploy?
Anyone have step by step instruction?

Refer to the following MSDN article
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd637753%28v=office.12%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
Also refer to the following article on best approaches to upgrade.
    http://www.go4sharepoint.com/Forum/best-approach-upgrade-moss-2007-windows-22904.aspx
And yes, you need to migrate your custom web part and fab40 template manually by redeploying.

  • Windows 2003 Upgrade

    Hi Team,
Can we upgrade from windows 2003 to 2012 ?
We have 300, 2003 Servers we need to upgrade to 2008 or 2012. Now question is what are the steps I have to think before start to execute the process . i have to send a document to my manager about my plan. Currently I don't have any information about the
client infrastructure. Kindly provide few details what are the steps I have to take care.

You may have trouble going from 2003 to 2013, it's not directly supported, others have asked:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/7749e559-94c7-44aa-b1f8-ef9abda5f747/inplace-upgrade-from-windows-2003-r2-to-2012
Beyond that, there's a good chance that many of those 2003 boxes will be x86 and cannot be directly upgraded to a x64 operating system such as 2008R2 or above.
I wouldn't recommend considering going to an older operating system than that.  I'd suggest that you have a large task in front of you provisioning new servers with 2012 or 2012 R2 installed from scratch and migrating services to them.

  • Server 2003 and Exchange 2003 upgrade.

Spin upa new VM as a domain controller and Global Catalog Server. Transfer the FSMO roles to it and let it sit overnight. Do NOT demote the Server 2003 domain controller or you will break Exchange 2003. Exchange 2003, when installed on a domain controller, doesn't properly configure itself to find domain controllers on the network. Instead, it goes into it's SBS configuration where it will only look at the current host for domain services.Next, determine which version of Exchange you want to go to. If migrating to an on-premises Exchange keep in mind that Exchange 2003 works with Outlook 2010 and earlier and that Outlook 2003 and earlier don't work with Exchange 2013. This means you need to upgrade to Exchange 2010 and enable non-secure Outlook connections on it, then upgrade Office to 2007 or later, and then upgrade to Exchange 2013.I...

I'll ask why Server 2012 and not r2 & why exchange 2010 and not 2013?  I'll assume budget.
The only difference I think I'd have with Gary is that I'd leave the demotion and removal of the old DC until the end.
New DC, transfer the fsmo roles.  Make sure that replication is working properly.
    New Exchange box.
Look up the requirements for removing the last exchange 2003 server, there are specific steps for this. Then demote and remove the old DC.Start by checking the Domain and Forest Function Levels :)

  • PowerMac G5 (2003) - upgrade

    Hello,
    Ihave a PowerMac G5 (2003)
      Machine Name:          Power Mac G5
      Machine Model:          PowerMac7,2
      CPU Type:          PowerPC 970  (2.2)
      Number Of CPUs:          2
      CPU Speed:          2 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU):          512 KB
      Memory:          2 GB
      Bus Speed:          1 GHz
      Boot ROM Version:          5.1.4f0
      Serial Number:          XB******NVS
The running software is MAC OS X 10.4.11 TIGER. I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade to a newer version. Almost every important software I am trying to install says that it is not compatible with my system. I can't use iTunes, I can't install App Store, I can't find a compatible photoshop, garageband, etc. Right now this machine is pretty unusable. I like the way it runs though, this is why I want to give her another chance,
    Thanks!
    <Edited By Host>

You can still get updated apps that were designed to work on your model PowerMac G5.
You can upgrade the OS X version to OS X Leopard 10.5.8
Apple now has a supply of these now. They are calling them retail replacement disc,
If you call Apple at 1-800-MY APPLE, and for for retail software sales, ask them if the have OS X 10.5 Leopard replacement discs for your Mac. You'll need your Macs serial number. These disc will cost less than $20 U.S..
As far as older software, instead of relying on the Mac App Store which, basically, has software only for Intel model Macs, now, look to online places like Amazon.com.
You can find newer versions of iLife that will still run on your PowerMac G5.
iLife '09 and iWork '09 are the last versions that work on PowerPC CPU Macs.
Find older, PowerPC compatible versions of Final Cut Pro/Express and Logic Pro/Express.
You will need to look for older Adobe versions on sites like Amazon.com, too!
The last version of the Adobe Creative of apps that will still run on PowerPC Macs is CS4.
For other software, if you actually go to the software developer's site, many still have older versions that you maybe able to still purchase and download or, if free, still have a section of their site where you can download the latest, compatible version. You do not need the Mac App Store.
    Good Luck!

  • Windows 2003 Upgrade to Windows 2008 on MSCS

    Hi ,
We were running our NW 7.0 ABAP+JAVA system on Windows 2003 and SQL 2005 .  Somehow in some misscommunication the Network administrator has formated the system without taking the OS level image backup . This is our production system .
We did not take the system export before that .
    Here is the situtaion :
He has detach the database and SAN . Install Windows 2008 and SQL 2008 . after this we have attached the database and SAN both ,
Now do we need to delte all the old SAP installation files from the SAN or we can just install the Central Service Instance and we will be good ? Do we need to do the rest of the instllation like Database Instance installation ,First MSCS Node ,Additional MSCS node etc...
What is the best way to install the SAP system on it with all the data  . We have the data files and system files available with us .
Appriciate your quick help on this .
    Thanks ,

    Hi orkun,
That is what i was thinking but SAP is not recommending this and asking me to Go back to Windows 2003 and SQL 2005 and install SAP their from Scratch .
They are not suggesting to install SAP on windows 2008 and restore the database .

  • Cannot upgrade a Server 2000 VM to Server 2003

    Hello!
I have a Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 Hyper-V server, and I have a VM of an ancient Windows 2000 Advanced Server. I need to test an in-place upgrade of that VM to Server 2003 Enterprise for a legacy app.
When I attempt the in-place upgrade, it reboots normally once about half way through the upgrade and goes back into the setup, then gets to the final stages, reboots, and then I get a BSOD with 0x0000007B error, inaccessible boot device.
Has anyone here successfully done an in-place upgrade inside of a VM going from 2000 to 2003?
A fresh installation of 2003 into a VM works fine.
I cannot wrap my head around why a perfectly running 2000 VM would suddenly not be able to find the boot device when upgraded to 2003. If a fresh install of 2003 recognizes the VM and boots properly, why wouldn't it do the same in an upgrade in a VM?
I am trying other methods and have been Googling it for hours.
    Thank you!
    Gregg Hill

OK, I swear I don't drink booze or do drugs, but I think I may need to start! I am going to go straight to crack.
I just followed the same steps I have done five times before (definition of insanity?!), and this time, the 2000 to 2003 upgrade worked.
    - Started with a fully-patched 2000 Advanced Server VM.
    - Removed the Integration Services and rebooted.
    - Started the 2003 upgrade from within the VM.
    - Got the same black screen that I was getting before with "A disk read error occurred, "Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart" on the screen after
    the first reboot
    - Set the VM to boot from the CD first, then when it said "Hit any key to boot from CD," I hit a key. At that point it asked if I wanted
to continue the upgrade. Making that choice lets it continue.
    - Prior to this installation, the VM would reboot half way through the installation steps, then start back up and finish the installation.
After the final reboot, it would BSOD with the 7B error. This time, it did NOT reboot at the half way mark.
    - This time, for reasons unknown, the same exact steps successfully installed the upgrade.
I am going to back up this VM and try it again. Yes, I am a glutton for punishment, but I need to know WHY it worked this time.
    Strange stuff!

  • IPCCX 5.0(2)SR1 Windows OS Upgrade

    Hi,
Just looking for clarification on Windows OS 2003 upgrade for IPCCX 5.0(2) installation. There are no O/S upgrades within the IPCCX download section.
I can only find Windows 2003 O/S upgrades within the Call Manager 4.3 O/S downloads.
I trust that I can use the 2003.1.5 O/S upgrade from the Call Manager 4.3 section and upgrade my IPCCX 2003.1.3 OS.
    thanks
    Ian.

    Hi
Hopefully you were looking at this:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
You have mentioned a few things:
    1) UCM Version - this just restricts which version of UCCX you may move to (i.e. 7.0, 8.0 etc). The first UCCX version that supports 6.1(2) on that document is 5.0(2), and the latest is 7.0(1)Sr5.. so you can run any of those versions without upgrading CCM if you so wish.
    2) OS Version - this is unrelated to the UCM version; there is an OS releases column on the table for each UCCX version. For 5.0(2)SR1, you can go up to 2003.1.5sr5. What you do with the OS doesn't have any relation to the UCM version, as UCM will not be aware of this.
    3) Platform type - this mainly comes into play with initial builds; the build DVDs will only support the servers on the list. For upgrades compatibility tends to be looser, but you would want to always be running a platform that is listed as compatible.
    What platform do you have?

  • Disable Exchange 2003 Mailboxes With AD Accounts En Masse

    Hello All,
We are currently running Exchange 2003 - upgrading to 2010.  We have over 300 accounts that are innactive and looking to disable the AD accounts as well the associated mailboxes.  Does anyone have any advice on how to do disable both without using
third party software?  I was going to use dsquery/dsmod to disable the AD accounts, but I didn't see much concerning the mailboxes.  Is there anything inherent to MS that can disable the innactive AD accounts and the mailboxes at the same time?
Unfotunately I'm new to Exchange and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
According to your situation, it will be easier to export emails to PST file for archiving propose:

  • SAP App server on windows uses paging not RAM... need help

    Experts,
We have installed a separate SAP application server on windows 2003 service pack 2. Our server has 25 GB Ram and 2 processors each with 4 cores. We have set the extended memory of SAP to 5 GB. Now, the problem is that: when we start the SAP instance on this machine then it is taking memory from Paging not From RAM. We have paging set to 20 GB and if we examine the server then our RAM is free and paging is in used by SAP instance. Our SAP version is ERP 6.0 and NW 7.01
Please guide and help me so that SAP instance on our windows machine utilize RAM not paging.
    Thanks,,
    Yasir

I highly suggest upgrading to Windows 2008 (R2).
Windows 2003 has known issues with huge amounts of shared memory which can't be fixed in that old OS. You may decrease this effect with
Note 1009297 - Windows Server 2003 Family: High Paging Rates
The effect is also indirectly described in
Note 1316558 - System hang situations on Windows Server 2003
Upgrade to Windows 2008 (R2), Windows 2003 is almost 10 years old. It's like you would use Windows 98 on a todays PC.

  • Cannot authenticate without one of two AD controllers

Hello, we are finally migrating our AD environment. Till migration we had one AD 2003 SP2 AD controller (physical). We have decided to add second controller(VM) based on Windows 2008 R2. Firstly, new AD controller was fully patched with MS update before
    joining AD domain.
    Specs of AD controllers:
1x physical 2003 SP2 (GC, all FSMO roles), dns role
1x virtual 2008 R2(reserved 4cores, 8gb ram, 2xhdd dedicated to AD in raid 1) - GC and dns as well
Both controllers work well and replicate data between themselves. Both are GC, and 2003 holds all FMSO roles.
DNSs on DC's are configured as follows: preferred DNS - itself, secondary- second DC.
We wanted to configure them crosswise (preferred to second DC and secondary to itself) but it gave a following, strange situation:
When only 2003 DC is online we cannot login to it with RDP and locally. Workstation login takes quite long so I assume it timesout to finally login with cached credentials. The error message is "The
specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"
When only 2008 DC is online we can successfully login to it with RDP and workstation login takes quite long as well.
Unfortunatelly configuring preffered dns server to itself (local ip, not loopback) gives the same error.
    Steps that were performed:
    fully patch 2003 DC
    fully patch 2008 R2
join 2008r2 to 2000 level domain served by 2003 DC
upgraded 2000 level domain to 2003
upgraded 2000 forest level to 2003
promoted 2008r2 as second GC DC
    reconfigured dns as stated above.A
Above steps were performed in about one week time-span, so servers have had time to synchronize and replicate.
I would like to know what causes above situation, that without the new DC the old one doesn't serve clients nor DNS requests, so clients doesn't have internet access.
Next step is to add temporary third 2008r2 DC, migrate FSMO roles to them, demote 2003 and upgrade domain and forest to 2008 level but before that we wanted to test things and above situation occurred.
Additionally, when the old DC starts up without the new one it logs following errors:
DNS: event 4015 - critical error, check if dns service works and is availiable,
then, six DNS: event 4004 - error, dns server was unable to enumerate following dns zones <-this one repeats for every dns zone, including _mscds.domain_name.
I suspect dns service to fail but what's the reason? That's why server cant authenticate and serve dns requests
    Any suggestions?

  • Validate and Edit SQL Query Errors

I am trying to "Validate or Edit SQL Query" in APEX 3.0. When I open up the SQL Query its highlighted in red and when I click on the Validate or Edit button it gives me an error.
I modified my marvel.conf file to include:
    AddType text/xml xbl
    AddType text/x-component htc
and this still didnt take care of it. Any ideas and thank you in advance.
PS: OPS - Windows Server 2003
    Upgraded from 1.6 to 3.0

I've gotten so used to command line editing, that I rarely us "ed". back in the days of DOS, the default editor was EDLIN - one of those goofy editors that only showed one line at a time, so it wasn't much of an improvement. you could switch to the old dos editor, but that wasn't much better (just checked, it's still there)
some nice things with command line editing
to change everthing between the first two single quotes
c/'...'/'new criteria'to remove everything after a specific string
c/from.../fromto change a string that contains (or will contain) slashes
    c.1/2.1/4.
