26687 error, no instantiation SCN provided
We have servers RAC1 and RAC2, using streams to replicate from RAC2 to RAC1
I had to drop and recreate a table
Now we get the following error
26687 error, no instantiation SCN provided
for "db"."table" in source database "string"
After recreating and loading the table, I got the SCN from RAC1 using
DBMS_FLASHBACK.GET_SYSTEM_CHANGE_NUMBER
then on RAC2 I executed
DBMS_APPLY_ADMIN.SET_TABLE_INSTANTIATION_SCN
("schema.table", "RAC1", 1.470+10)
What am I missing and how can I fix this problem
Thanks
You can look at instanciation SCNs using the following request at destination DB:
SELECT * from DBA_APPLY_INSTANTIATED_OBJECTS;
You can check the values against SCN at the source database.
The following statement enables to look at SCN taken during prepare phase
SELECT * from dba_capture_prepared_tables;
Either fix the SCN value
Either reinstaciate table by
1 preparing the table for instanciation
2 export the table from source to destination
You may benefit from taking a look at Oracle Streams Replication Administrator's Guide chapter 14 which mention your error code.

We are testing streams on Databases between our Main and Branch Campus. We set up the Capture, Propagation and the Apply for the databases and receive the error on the Apply process when doing an insert:
ORA-26687: no instantiation SCN provided for [TABLE] in source database [DATABASE]
We are running Oracle 10.2.0.2.0
Thank you in advance for your help.At source, execute the following as strmadmin
SELECT * FROM DBA_CAPTURE_PREPARED_TABLES;
Get the SCN for the correspoing table and use at destination
At destination:
BEGIN
DBMS_APPLY_ADM.SET_TABLE_INSTANTIATION_SCN (
source_object_name => 'schema.tablename',
source_database_name => 'global db name of source',
instantiation_scn => &iscn);
END;
Enter iscn that you got at souce.
Retry the error. This will work. -
STREAMS ORA-26687: no instantiation SCN provided for...
Hi guys,
I set streams replication on two instance oracle 10.2.0.3 capture and propagation seems working fine but on the apply side I got error message ORA-26687: no instantiation SCN provided for "SCOTT"."EMP" in source database "DB5.REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM" and I tried to instantiate the SCN to Required SCN from
select REQUIRED_CHECKPOINT_SCN
from dba_capture;
also tried to export import the table scott.emp again to instantiate to SCN but it didn't work still get the same error. Any Idea ?Set the instantiation SCN to few thousands less to current SCN. It will take care of the SCN. Otherwise find the required SCN and instantiate that number. Of course you need to stop streams process before doing it.
You can find the required SCN by using the following qury:
select REQUIRED_CHECKPOINT_SCN
from dba_capture; -
ORA-26687 No Instantiation SCN provided
Hi All Guru, i am newbies to stream.
I have try to setup the stream with full database replication.
However the apply process keep aborted on target db with error ORA-26698 No Instantiation SCN provided for "WSYS"."WK$INSTANCE" in source database "primdb".
I have already tried perform instantiation by using :
DECLARE
iscn NUMBER; -- Variable to hold instantiation SCN value
BEGIN
iscn := DBMS_FLASHBACK.GET_SYSTEM_CHANGE_NUMBER();
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ('Instantiation SCN is: ' || iscn);
END;
connect STRMADMIN/STRMADMIN@destination
BEGIN
DBMS_APPLY_ADM.SET_GLOBAL_INSTANTIATION_SCN(
source_database_name => 'primdb',
instantiation_scn => &iscn );
END;
Please advise how to workaround this issue ?
thanks.
Does anyone have any note on how to setup stream for one way replication from source to target (full database replication) ?
Thanks in advance.It would be helpful to know which version (3 decimal places) you are working with and what variation on Streams you have chosen.
For example under some situations you might want to do this:
conn / as sysdba
set serveroutput on
DECLARE
f_scn NUMBER;
BEGIN
f_scn := 0;
dbms_capture_adm.build(:f_scn);
dbms_output.put_line('The first_scn value is ' || :f_scn);
END;

Getting status as ERROR while instantiating Business Object in work flow?
Hi,
Getting status as ERROR while instantiating Business Object in work flow.
How to rectify it.
Tahnks in Advance.
Moderator message: please have a look at the dedicated Workflow forum on SCN.
Edited by: Thomas Zloch on Jan 19, 2012Hi,
Go to SWDD and create a new workflow. This workflow will have two steps. This is just for test purpose so we are not going to define any triggering event etc. First step will instantiate (creating a runtime object) a business object and second step will use that runtime object to execute one of its method. We know that to instantiate any BO we need the object key to be passed. Key uniquely identifies a runtime instance of Business Object (henceforth we will refer it as BO or business object interchangeably).
use Business Object SYSTEM and method GENERICINSTANTIATE to instantiate any Business Object in workflow -
Error while generating Data provider
We are facing a weird issue while using Design Studio 1.2. Locally the tool works fine but when we use it from BI-Launchpad or through BI Enterprise it gives intermittent error "Error while generating Data Provider"
Same setup works fine in our Validation Environment.
We have tried running repair for Design Studio, redeploy the war files, creating new view but issue still exist.
We have BI 4.0 SP7 installed on Windows 2008 R2 system.
4 CMS running in cluster, Design Studio 1.2 is installed on 3 Nodes out of 4.
For now we are using 1 tomcat to access the system to narrow down the issue.
Experts please help us to resolve this issue.
Attach is the error message we are receivingI am not clear what your data source is, but I recommend checking the PAM https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001013822013E because there are some limitations with Design Studio and BI4.0

Error while instantiating report Z_RD_ABSENCE_REPORT
Hi Guys,
we have just patched BWD, and while testing the broadcast setting i came across the following error.
Error while instantiating report Z_RD_ABSENCE_REPORT
Notification Number RSBOLAP 014
I am opening report designer and when i publish via Bex Broadcaster this message is shown. I have checked SDN and sap market place but most of the soultion seem to focus on WAD.
My feeling is that it is a JAVA error and is somethng basis might be able to fix.
Please can anyone let me know if they have come across this problem before, and help would be much appriciated.
Thanks
ForhadHello Forhad,
RSBOLAP 014 is a issue regarding communication between ABAP (backend ) VS BI Java side.
Read the note 937697 and follow his manual instructions.
This note will start the BI Diagnostics. There you will see a red mark with RSBOLAP issue. COrrect this red mark following the recommendation on "Action" field.
Good luck.

Error when generating Data Provider
Hi ,
While executing a query in the Quality system I get an error stating - "Error while generating Data Provider".
When the same query is executed in the Production system , it executes successfully .
Any pointer , Please reply asap .
Regards
ManpreetHi Manpreet,
Use the 'verify' icon in the query designer to check whether your query definition is correct. Also u you
can check if you can execute the query in the backend with transaction RSRT2. In RSRT2 try re-generating
the query before running it.
Hope it helps.

Oracle XML Parser v2 9.2.0.0.0
I'm using the Oracle XML Parser V2 9.2.0.0.0 library to apply a stylesheet to an XML document. However when I invoke the call to processor.processXSL() an XSLException is thrown with the following details:
oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLException: <Line 1, Column 116>: XSL-1047: (Error) Invalid instantiation of 'xsl:output' in 'INSERT' context.
exception
Below is the sequence of events:
// Create an instance of XSLProcessor to perform the transformation
XSLProcessor processor = new XSLProcessor();
// create a Reader from a String object that contains the stylesheet text
StringReader r = new StringReader( stylesheet );
// create a new XSL stylesheet, passing it the Reader object reference
XSLStylesheet sheet = processor.newXSLStylesheet(r);
// apply the stylesheet
// the variable sheet represents the XSLStylesheet object
// the variable source represents the XMLDocument object
// this call throws the exception
DocumentFragment df =
processor.processXSL(sheet,source);
I've included the Stylesheet and source XML file I'm processing below.
Note: My application works fine when I use the Oracle XML Parser v2 9.0.1 library. (although I have to use new XSLStylesheet() in place of XSLProcessor.newXSLStylesheet())
Any ideas on what has changed between the two releases? I do have a reproducible test case that I can send on if required?
thanks in advance

You're using the "simple form" of the stylesheet which

I am having an issue retrieving on a SmartView grid running 11.1.2.2.309.01 and SmartView 11.1.2.2.102.I have a grid with three attribute dimension and, at first it was long running and gave me a netretry netinterval error. I shared with my administrator and, they gave me the registry updates to increase my timeout for my default browser. Now, I try to retrieve the same sheet and after approximately five minutes, I get the message, "Smartview Error: "Cannot Connect to Provider. Make Sure It Is Running in the Specified Host/Port (503)". I am not sure what this means. I can retrieve on other grids with one attribute dimension or a regular retrieve but, for some reason, I notice when I retrieve on multiple attribute dimensions, I am having this issue. I had this tested with others and, they are experiencing the same result. Any thoughts. Thanks in advance
The timeout was updated to 7 minutes but, the timeout on the APS was never updated. What happened was there was a 7,000 member dimension where attributes where being used to build a retrieve. The attributes were what was causing the issue. Not to say you should not use attributes. Ultimately, an alternate hierarchy in the 7,000 member dimension will help but, I used other members to get the results I need. I just never saw the error message before and, did not see it in oracle support.. Thanks.

Hi,
I keep receiving the error below in the SQL Server Agent Error Log;
[165] ODBC Error: 0, Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]. [SQLSTATE 08001]
It is occurring approximately 20 times an hour and i cannot link it to any job failures. All jobs on the same SQL instance are working.
The server is a clustered server and there are no errors occuring in the SQL Server error log at the same time. I have attempted to trace using profiler looking for errors and warnings but anything that does occur doesn't seem to correspond to the reported
times of the errors within the sql agent error log.
Please could someone point me where to look next?
Many thanks.Please may I add that this is on a SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition patched to 10.50.1600.
Nah, that server is not patched at all, because 10.50.1600 is the RTM version. Find Service Pack 2 and install at the next maintenance window, after having performed tests according to your local policy.
It is not going to resolve your particular problem though.
It seems like you have a job that attempts to a connect to s server that is down or non-existing. The job may be configured to return success also on failures. I would check if there are jobs that target other servers.

KrishnaI had the same error, while implementing a new client webservice.
The Error ERROR_WEBSERVICE_RUNTIME_INIT was in my case solved by:
1. regenerating the CL_SOAP_APPLICATION_CLIENT class.
and
2. deleting the LPCONFIG setting and creating a new one.

TypeError: Error #1007: Instantiation attempted on a non-constructor.
So I am trying out Flex 4 and started so by creating a basic class that extends the spark.components.Application class.

It compiles time but at runtime I am getting this error:

Anyone have any insight into this? I found this http://forums.adobe.com/message/2724794 but it doesn't really seem to be a whole lot of help in my case.K so I just setup a simple mxml file for it
