2960S management int problem
I have a stack of 2 2960S switches that are dedicated for the storage net, only between SAN and blade system.
I have configured fastethernet0 (management interface) for static ip 192.168.163.25 which is then connected to my core data switch, so i can manage the storage switch.
So here is the issue: if there is nothing connected to that stack at all, except the management int the switch pings and i can telnet to it.
However, if i boot the stack with all storage network uplinks and downlinks connected the management int does not ping and i have no access to the switch. As soon as i unplug the last cable, the management interface starts to ping and i can telnet in. Then i can plug all the cables and everything works fine, until i reboot the switch again.
Anybody have any ideas whats going on?
I can paste the config if needed.
I understand that, and do not want to use it as a data carrying port.
All i want to do it to use it for telnet, mgmt, but i can't because it doesn't ping after the switch boots up if i have the rest of the data cables plugged it.

Can't put ACL on management int - WLC
Why is it so that I can't put an ACL on the management int or the mangement WLAN. I mean, I can put the ACL on the int/WLAN but it has no effect, it only denies everything.
Also, can someone please explain what the difference between putting an ACL on an interface vs one on a WLAN.
Thank you.Where you place the ACL determines when the packets are acted upon. Depending on how close to the client you put it determines how much cpu/bandwidth etc you use prior to the action.
There is a deny all at the end of every ACL. Are you sure the ACL has something to act on and isn't just getting to the deny?
What version of WLC code are you running?
An access control list (ACL) is a set of rules used to limit access to a particular interface (for example, if you want to restrict a wireless client from pinging the management interface of the controller). After ACLs are configured on the controller, they can be applied to the management interface, the AP-manager interface, any of the dynamic interfaces, or a WLAN to control data traffic to and from wireless clients or to the controller central processing unit (CPU) to control all traffic destined for the CPU. -

It seems to me that ABAP is running but J2EE startup framework have some problems.
Can you confirm that? What WP's can you see? Can you observe the windows processes
on startup (most suitable with ProcessExplorer from [Sysinternals|http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/sysinternals/default(en-us).aspx]). What happen on startup?
Additionally can you update the kernel? Patchlevel 75 is a little bit old, the most current is ~161.

OK so here's the deal:
I'm writing a client for a internet comunicator in java (J2ME to be precise). Unfortunately i have specs for this comunicator's protocol for c++ programing. The first problem I ran to is: I have to calculate a hash for a password so it doesn't go plain text on the network. The function in c++ that does this is:

Every operation works exactly like in c++ (I've checked) until this point:y = (y << z) | (y >> (32 - z));and to be exact (y << z) This doesn't turn out like in c++ so the whole function doesn't return the right vaule. I know it's because doing a bit operation on a unsigned int in c++ is different in than in java because unsigned variables have totally different bit values than signed ones. The question is: how to work this out. I managed to do aritmetic operations working but I have no idea how to deal with this. FCP 6, Media Manager, DualEyes Problem
I've locked picture on a 90 minute feature and I'm trying to export the sequence to an external drive so our colorist can do the grading.
The camera original footage came from various Canon DSLRs. Some of the footage was transcoded (Pro Res 422 HQ) off site and delivered to me. But most of the footage, I transcoded myself, using log and transfer.
I highlight the sequence I want to export in the FCP browser, then right click, but when I click “Media Manager”, nothing happens. The little icon spins for a split second, then nothing.
The same thing happens if I try to open Media Manager from the top menu. Nothing. Won’t open.
Everything in the timeline plays just fine. Exporting the timeline as a self-contained or reference file works without any problem.
It seems Media Manager doesn't like certain clips in the timeline.
I went through the timeline one clip at a time and started to compare the clips MM had a problem with versus those it didn't have a problem with.
It seems the offending clips are all clips that were created in DualEyes, off site, to sync second system audio.
Clips that I synched here, on site, using PluralEyes, do not offend Media Manager.
I don't know that this matters, but...
The offending DualEyes-created files that were created off site include a single, merged file - a video track and three audio tracks (a pair of tracks from the second system audio, and a single track from the camera mic that was used for reference).
One last thing I tried to confirm it was the created-off-site DualEyes files that were keeping MM from working...
I imported two files, residing in the same folder on the HD.
File A had been synched using DualEyes. It has a video track and three audio tracks (one from camera mic, two from second system audio).
File B had not been synched (an MOS take). It has a video track and two audio tracks (camera mic).
I laid both clips in the timeline, next to each other.
If I right click on File A and then click Media Manager, I get an "Error 34" message.
If I right click on File B and then click Media Manager, Media Manager opens normally.
Any idea what's going on here? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

JeffreyI have no idea why this problem is occuring, but you might try deleting the audio from your sequence before doing the media manage. You could then copy a mixed down track to the media managed sequence if you want audio reference.
Also, select one of the problematic clips and hit command-9 (clip settings) and tell us the settings for the clip. -
Batch Management (ROH) - Problem

We have activated Batch Management for Raw Materials.
I have done the following Configurations for PP Module.
1. Maintained Batch Mngt settings in ROH in MRP2, entry "3"
2. Strategy Type in SPRO
2. Search Procedure in OPLG
3. Maintained Search procedure in OPL8
4. Maintained Condition for that ROH in COB1
Now the problem is :
We have created 4 batches with some qty.
1st Production order: The batch determination is taking place properly, and Batch 1 gets consumed.
2nd Production order: The batch determination taking place properly, but the 1st Batch which has no qty. is being seen with EMPTY Field for QTY, and the Batch No. field is GREYED (non-editable).
Question:
Why the BLANK Batch is appearing, as because of which i am getting a error in costing "Consumption account cannot be determined", Area of responsibility as FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING.
But why should the BLANK FIELD APPEAR ?
please provide valuable inputs

I checked up, but since the Costing error is coming in the production order itself, hence it is not allowing for the confirmation, and is getting terminated in the confirmation stage itself.
One thing i came to know is that the BLANK field which is seen, when checked its Item Details, is showing as movement No. 531.
What can be the reason for the same ?

Solution Manager 3.2 SP 8- Change Request Management Configuration Problem
Hi friends,
We are in process of implementing SOLMAN 3.2 SP8 in our landscape.I am facing problem in configuring change request management.
When the developer is working on an urgent correction document we are facing a problem.The steps we are following are here under provided.
Step 1 :
Selected Action "In development" - > it created the transport request in the dev system.
Step 2:
Action "Log into System" -> made correction attached to the transport request manually and released the task.
Step 3:
Action "Release transport requests" -> The transport request in the development was released.
Step 4:
Went for action "Pass to correction" -> I am facing exceptions which conveys
Status was reset by system
A condition is not satisfied because of an exceptional situation
Not all transport requests yet released
And we would be thankful if you provide the authorization required for the different roles in the change request management.I have followed the help file of SOLMAN 3.2 and create the users as under

SOCM_RQSTR - ZSAP_SOCM_REQUESTER
(Derrived from SAP_SOCM_REQUESTER)
SOCM_DVLPR - ZSAP_SOCM_DEVELOPER

SOCM_CHNGNGR - ZSAP_SOCM_IT_OPERATOR
(Derrived from SAP_SOCM_IT_OPERATOR)
Even then I am facing problems while developer creating transport requests and while logging into development system.
I tried adding S_RFC,S_RFCACL auth objects to their roles but did not help.
Pl. suggest.

We are trying to implement the Change Request Management piece in Solution Manager 3.2.
We are facing the following issues which I think relate to the same reason:
1)We have created a Maintenance Project in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN and assigned it a logical component, which consists of our two system landscape (namely DEVàQAS). We have also created the IMG project in the DEV system and have distributed that IMG project to both the Solution manager system and the DEV system. Now we have to make the maintenance cycle and task list for that maintenance project, but as we select the project and click on create project cycle it shows the message "The project is not released. Hence cycle can not be created". It is showing the status of project as locked .How can we open or unlock the project to remove the error?
2) Also after selecting the SMI project when we click on the button CTS status switches or project specific Transport route it responds with the error "Project landscape not configured; set the project status to "open" first ".
3)When we click on synchronize single project it prompts for the login of connected system (Development System) and after login, it gives an error "Warning, problems during synchronization of the system Landscape".
For Error resolution, we have checked the system landscape and it does not give us any errors. We have done that, both from the solution manager by going to the transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN --> >system landscape tab>selecting our logical component and doing a check by clicking the "Check system Landscape" button. It returns with "no Errors". We also did a check on the TMS configuration by logging directly on to the TMS domain controller system and checking the Transport routes. We have checked the RFC connections without any errors.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Management console problem after installing recommended patch cluster
Hello everyone.
I just got a new SUN 440 server, it didn't come with the solaris os installed and so I installed solaris 9 12/03 to it. The installation went fine and I could start the management console with no problems at all. Then I went to sunsolve.sun.com to download the latest recommended patch clusters for solaris 9 (this was yesterday Sept.-06-2006), I downloaded the file, checked it with md5sum, unzipped it, went to single user mode and ran the install_patch script. After the patch cluster finished installing I rebooted the server for the patches to take effect, I logged in, tried to run console management 2.1 and it starts OK but I cannot use any services it offers because it says (in the console events):
"Server Not Running: no solaris management console server was available on the specified server. Please ensure there is a Solaris Management Console server available on the specified host and that it is running"
When I click on "See Exception" I get (for a particular service that is... in this case com.sun.admin.fsmgr.client.VFsMgr - for managing file systems):
java.rmi.RemoteException: Server RMI is null:
at sun.com.management.viperimpl.client.ViperClient.lookupServer(ViperClient.java:376)and so on...
I already checked that the service is running on port 898 and it seems that there is no other app. using that same port. I also restarted the service using /etc/init.d.init stop/status/start but I get the same results.
I don't know solaris very much and don't know what else to do, please help.

Starting Managed server problem ......

I need you guy's help in this regard, that I am using solaris 8 and installed Weblogic8.1 Server.
My Scenario is;
Have configured Admin Server and Managed server with nodemanager on one unix machine.
So, what am facing the problem;
I am not able to get run Managed server after starting the nodemanager and admin server, getting the error in nodemanager logs that is :

NodeManager requires proper SSL configuration. Are you sure you are using the right certificates?
Try running AS with following option
-Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true

MCX Managed printers problem with Adobe CS5.5
I manage 300 or so Macs running 10.6x with a 10.6 server using Workgroup Manager.
I am having a problem where the managed printers multiply exponentially in Adobe applications, so that on some machines there may be 15 or so versions of the same printer in the print dialogue box. This only happens in Adobe Applications. When I look in CUPS there are multiple MCX versions of the same printer, no other Applications seem to be picking up these extra printers. If I reset the print system and reboot then everything returns to normal for a while, but the extra printers slowly return. Is anybody else having the same problem and managed to solve it?Did you ever resolve this? I'm also having issues!

List view threshold and columns manage metadata problems

We have problem in our company since we have more files in library than is set in List view Threshold.
I have created index on column "year" and create view filter: Year is equal 2015.
and I get famous error: this view cannot be displayed because....

As I understand, you encountered the issue after you created view filter.
Every column type has the default number that can be created. You should go to check the number of your column created is less than the number by default.
Per my test, I can achieve it without exceeding list view threshold.
Check things below:
1. You can increase the number of the list view threshold, and after that, you can try again to see the same situation will occur.
2. Go to create another managed metadata column “year”, and create index on column "year", and create view filter in the same list to see the issue will occur.
3. Check ULS log to see the details about the cause of the issue.

Double click on menu = exception : managed bean problem ?

I am a beginner with JSF and I have to work on an existing project.
In my Web application, my problem is that if the user doubles click on some navigation links, then an exception is raised.
Technically, I think that 2 consecutive HTTP requests sent to the server enter in competition and thus the state of certain variables becomes inconsistent. This problem appears when the 2nd click is sent to the server before the server answered the treatment of the 1st click.
My current assumption is directed towards the managed beans used in the application (I am not (yet ;) ) a master on the subject). In fact, the main menu is �attached� to managed bean which are all of type �session�. At the time of the creation of the bean, a certain quantity of treatment is done to prepare information to be posted on the page. Other treatments are obviously done during the treatment of page JSF (Java code called by JSF of the).
I think that at the time of the first call, the managed bean is possibly initialized. At the time of the 2nd click on the page, this bean re-initialized or is simply removed if the user has clicked on another menu (which refers to another bean).
Would you have an idea of the veracity of my assumption?
Would you have an idea how to solve the problem?
I am currently looking for a JavaScript which allows me to disable all buttons on the page before the complete response of the server (that in order to prevent the user from clicking on an action before its preceding action is not treated).

Launch the Terminal utility and type this command, each followed by the "return" key:
ls -lad .Trash
ls -la .Trash
The "l" in those commands is the lower-case letter "L".
The first command shows you the ownership and permissions of the .Trash folder. On my system my user "short name" is listed as the owner and group. The permissions are "drwx------".
The second command shows you any files within the .Trashes folder. (Ignore the entries ending in one and two periods.) You should be the owner of anything in it. The permissions on anything there should start with "-rw" or "drw".
If you see anything different, describe what you see and someone will be able to give you instructions for repairing it. -
Thinkpad Power manager causing problems in Vista
Hi,
We have been having problems with the Thinkpad power manager (all versions that we've tried) on Vista with T400, T500, and T60 series laptops. These problems range from the program crashing to blue screens and reboots. If we remove the software and use Vista's built in power manager, the battery life gets cut in half but we do not have any problems. Has anyone else had these problems? Is there a way to reliably increase the battery life using Vista's built in power manager? If not, how can we get the thinkpad power manager working correctly?
