30EA2 - refuses to unload results into new file

With ver 3.0.02.83 I'm getting "Not writable" message every time when I try to unload the results into a new file. SqllDeveloper refuses to write to a new file and I have to preallocate it first and then answer yes on override question.
Does anybody else have the same situation?

On what OS version?

  • Merge Multiple CSV Files Into One and save it into new file

    Below code run in specific directory. However I'm looking a code which will select the folder  & save it into new sheet.
    Can you help me with this? I've searched for a solution for a long time but could not find anything which worked.
    The following is the start of the macro code
    Sub OpenCSV()
    Dim i As Integer
    ' change this next line to reflect the actual directory
    Const strDir = "C:\Documents and Settings\shekar\"
    Dim ThisWB As Workbook
    Dim wb As Workbook
    Dim ws As Worksheet
    Dim strWS As String
    Set ThisWB = ActiveWorkbook
    Set fs = Application.FileSearch
    With fs
    .LookIn = strDir
    .Filename = "*.csv"
    If .Execute(SortBy:=msoSortByFileName, _
    SortOrder:=msoSortOrderAscending) > 0 Then
    For i = 1 To .FoundFiles.Count
    Set wb = Workbooks.Open(.FoundFiles(i))
    strWS = wb.Sheets(1).Name
    wb.Sheets(1).UsedRange.Copy (ThisWB.Worksheets(strWS).Range("A1"))
    wb.Close False
    Next i
    Else
    MsgBox "There were no files found."
    End If
    End With
    End Sub

    The below will do the.But be careful if any of csv file name is more than 31 then Excel will not allow it to name the sheet with filename.
    Sub OpenCSV()
    Dim i As Integer
    ' change this next line to reflect the actual directory
    Const strDir = "C:\Documents and Settings\shekar\"
    Dim ThisWB As Workbook
    Dim wb As Workbook
    Dim ws As Worksheet
    Dim strWS As String
    Dim sFileName As String
    Set ThisWB = ActiveWorkbook
    With Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogOpen)
    .InitialFileName = strDir
    .Filters.Clear
    .Filters.Add "CSV Files", "*.csv"
    If .Show Then
    For i = 1 To .SelectedItems.Count
    Set wb = Workbooks.Open(.SelectedItems(i))
    sFileName = .SelectedItems(i)
    Set ws = ThisWB.Worksheets.Add(before:=ThisWB.Worksheets(1))
    ws.Name = ActiveSheet.Name
    wb.Sheets(1).UsedRange.Copy ws.Range("A1")
    wb.Close False
    Next i
    Else
    MsgBox "There were no files found."
    End If
    End With
    End Sub

    For your questions:
    1) I don't want to store in the database as a nested table
    2) I don't want to retrieve data from the database. Data will come from function split_date() parameter and data will be processed in the function and function will return it in nested table format. For more detail please look at the raw function SQL.
    I have a SQL like:
    WITH all_dates

                UNION ALL
                SELECT bo_end_date + 1, -1 FROM black_out_dates),
         got_analytics
            AS (SELECT a_date AS start_date,
                       LEAD( a_date ) OVER (ORDER BY a_date, black_out_val)
                          AS end_date,
                       SUM( black_out_val ) OVER (ORDER BY a_date, black_out_val)
                          AS black_out_cnt

      SELECT start_date, end_date
        FROM got_analytics
       WHERE black_out_cnt = 0 AND start_date < end_date
    ORDER BY start_date;I want to change the tables black_out_dates and travel to Nested Array so I can use it in a function with Nested Array travel and Nested Array black_out_dates parameters and the function will return Nested Array of date ranges.
    Here is what I want in raw SQL:
        DECLARE

           g_travel_range        DATE_RANGE := DATE_RANGE( '20110101', '99991231' );

  • How to programmatically extract VL10C results into a file?

    Hi Experts,
    I need to extract VL10C results programmatically into a file for a downstream non-SAP application to consume.
    What's the best way to do it in a ABAP program?
    Many thanks!
    -Lily

    if you have some enhancement points (ECC) or user exit before the data is thrown to show on screen, use Export to memory in the code of VL10C and write one custom program where you import that memory to a local structure.
    OR
    Schedule a background job of this program get the spool and download the spool to local file.
    There are lots of program in SCN / WIKI and lots of thread which would help more to do this...

  • Export query results into .csv file?

    Hello I have a T-SQL script that gets row counts for a specified date range and then needs to loop (by incrementing +1 day to get the next day's counts) for a large date range.  I'm aiming to output & append each query results day counts
    into a .csv file via a SQL Agent job since this will take quite a while to complete.
    Would using the following as an example template...
    INSERT INTO OPENROWSET('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0','Text;Database=D:\;HDR=YES;FMT=Delimited','SELECT * FROM [FileName.csv]')
    SELECT Field1, Field2, Field3
    FROM DatabaseName
    ...be the method or something else?
    If this is good to use I've tried running this but get the following error:
    Msg 7357, Level 16, State 2, Line 76
    Cannot process the object "SELECT * FROM [FileName.csv]". The OLE DB provider "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" for linked server "(null)" indicates that either the object has no columns or the current user does not have permissions
    on that object.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Techresearch7777777,
    The error in your post says that the file FileName.csv has to be created with the column names in the first row. Like:
    Field1,Field2,Field3
    Either you can create a schema.ini file under the same folder:
     [FileName.csv]
     Format=CSVDelimited
     ColNameHeader=False
     Col1=Field1 [DataType]
     Col2=Field2 [DataType]
     Col3=Field3 [DataType]
    For the [DataType],you can reference
    Schema.ini File (Text File Driver)

  • Loading Query results into a file/cache

    Hi,
    We have a Query which returns huge volume of data.
    spooling all the records will take a lot of time.
    Is there any other way through which we can load the results of this huge query into Oracle's Cache / File
    Tables used in the Query are Range hash composite partitioned tables.
    But, in the query only a single partition is being used.
    Suggest any method to acheive the same.
    Thanks,
    Kris.

  • Recalling Spreadsheets and appending results into 1 file.

    Hi,
    i am in a stage of my program where i have to do numerical analysis on a set of data collected by an Optical spectrum analyser... the data has been saved in multiple spreadsheets... (each with a row for the wavelengths, x-values, and power, y-values)...i need to get the power values and put them all in 1 spreadsheet file, with the wavelngth values in the first row.
    so multiple 2D spreadsheets: Wavelength:  x1 x2 x3 .....
         Power 1     : P1 P2 P3....
         Wavelngth: x1 x2 x3...
         Power 2    : p1 p2 p3...
    Will turn to: Wavelength:  x1 x2 x3...
    Power11 P2 P3...
    Power21 p2 p3...
    attached below is my attempt at doing this, which doesnt seem to work. The loops are present so that 'read from spreadsheet' vi recalls all the spreadhseets...which it does do... but i don't know how to improve it so that all the files succesfully append into 1 2D array (as shown above).
    Please can someone help me figure out how to do this (recall multiple spreadsheets and then save into 1). right now only the files being recalled in the last loop iteration are saved into the single spreadsheet.
    the file paths of the spreadsheets are all dependent on the number (N) so the file paths are such that 00.txt,01.txt,02.txt,03.txt...0N.txt, 10.txt,11.txt...1N.txt,20.txt,21.txt... etc ...NN.txt and teh final file will be RESULTS.txt (as seen in the pic)
    Any input will be greatly appreciated, it seems like an easy concept, but the answer totally evades me.
    thanks a lot,

    as you can see in the image, i have used the required VIs to recall and save the spreadsheets, what i am having problems with is appending ALL of the spreadsheets, my loops are not working properly, i only append a select number of spreadsheets/arrays together dependent on the loop iterations,
    perhaps its something wrong with the way i got everything wired? i index at the outer loop, however this information gets lots in subsequent iterations... what i need ideally is some sort of VI which inserts sub arrays into consequative rows in an array though just one input (such as in my loops).
    any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    thank you!

    As far as writing to a text file, look in the File I/O palette for the Write to Text File primitive.  Also, if you go to Help->Find Examples... and do a search for "text file" you will get some examples of how to use it.

  • Convert jsp processed result into a file??

    when a JSP file has been processed, it returns HTML codes to browser, so how can i get that pure HTML source code and save it in an other html files.

    If you have a good idea, open your JSP file and (in Sun ONE anyways) you can right click and do "Show JSP Code in Servlet" since a JSP is just translated into a servlet anyways (you could alos find the <Your JSP>.java file in your web server's working directory.
    Anyways you will see a lot of out.println() statements where out is the response writer. So your options are:
    1. Create a FileWriter fwOut and copy all the out.println() statements and paste them as fwOut.println()'s.
    2. Create a class (or find one) that mimics the tee functionality in the UX world ie the class myTee opens the respose writer and the FileWriter, then some method (like myTeePrintln()) would take the input as a string and write it to both the response and FileWriter (and flush the streams).

  • Autoextend tablespace into new file

    I have a small program that captures images and from time to time the users fill up the image tablespace and I have to manually create a new tablespace. The way I have it setup is that my image tablespace is set to 2GB (the name of the datafile is /opt/oracle/oradata/image1.dbf). How can I (or CAN I) have Oracle (or my program) automatically create another datafile when space is getting low on the 1st. I thought about creating a bigger file to start with, but I don't want to chew up that much space unless it's needed (some clients need it, some don't).
    Edited by: user461089 on Aug 27, 2009 11:52 AM

    Oracle allows data files to autoextend. You can have it automatically increase the size of image1.dbf (or whatever other data files you have in the tablespace). You cannot have Oracle automatically add new data files to a tablespace, though you could certainly write a job (DBMS_JOB or DBMS_SCHEDULER) that would periodically look at the free space in a tablespace and add a data file if there was too little free space. I'm not sure I see the benefit to doing this rather than letting data files grow, though.

  • Insert into Flat File with no data

    Hello,
    One of my client is encountering a problem in loading data from oracle table to a Flat File.
    We are using a IKM SQL to File.
    A staging area different from Target and defined on the source Logical Schema.
    and options Genreate Header and Insert rows.
    The problem is :
    At the end of the interface execution, which finish without error we see in the file, the header correctly generated which let me think that there's no permission problem with the file.
    But there is no records...
    And I don't know why ???
    There is the .bad and .error files but they are empty.
    The file datastore seems to be well declared with the good delimiters....
    We are using the Sunopsis Driver File :

    jdbc:snps:file
    Cause the file are not accepted with the new one ...
    Note that all our interfaces which are reading flat file work fine.
    But there's no one writting in which work.
    If somebody ever had this problem, or just have an idea about this let me know please.
    Cordially,
    BM

    "Bonjour",
    I usually use the snpsoutfile API to unload data into flat file.
    It's not the exact solution at your question, but i's a technical solution.

  • Unable to save the webi report results in CSV file in XIR2 environment

    Hi Team,
    We have one WebI report in BOXIR2 version and it fetching nearly 76+ records in the report. The report is running fine without any issues and when i am trying to export the results into CSV file we are getting the error msg (Maximum Binary file size exceeded WIS30271). The file size is more than 80MB and hence it throwing this error. I have checked the Maximun Binary File size that is set in CMC and it is set to 80MB.
    When i ran the same query in the database and exporting the results in to csv file the file size is under 80MB. I would like to know the reason why there is a difference in the file size when running the query manually in database and exporting in to csv file and to export the results set in to csv through business objects.

    Below are the possible causes to get this error message:
    1] When a large Web Intelligence report is exported to CSV format, we get error: Max Binary file size limit exceeded. The document is too large to be processed by the server. Error WIS 30271
    Cause
    This error message appears because BusinessObjects Enterprise allows documents to be saved with the limit specified for Web Intelligence Report server settings in the Central Management Console(CMC).
    To resolve the error follow the below steps:
    - Login to Central Management Console (CMC) using BusinessObjects Enterprise "Administrator".
    - Navigate to "Home >> Servers".
    - Click on "Web Intelligence Report Server" to open its properties.
    - Increase the "Maximum Binary File Size"(Default value=50 MBytes; Maximum value = 65535 MBytes).
    - Click on "Apply" and then on "Update".
    - Allow the Web Intelligence server to restart.
    2] In Web Intelligence, when attempting to save a report to Excel or Portable Document Format  (PDF), the following error message appears:
    "Max binary file size limit exceeded. The document is too large to be processed by the server. Contact your database administrator. (Error: WIS 30271)".
    Cause:
    This error message appears because Business Objects Enterprise allows documents to be saved up to the limit set for Web Intelligence Report Server in the Central Management Console (CMC).  The default file size limit is 50 megabytes for binary file types like PDF and Excel.
    To resolve this error message, you will need to increase the Max Binary file size value.
    1.      Open the CMC.
    2.      Browse to Servers
    3.      Click on your Web Intelligence Report Server.
    4.      On the Properties page, increase the Maximum Binary File Size.
    5.      Apply the setting and allow the Web Intelligence Report Server to restart.
    Increasing these values too high could impact Web Intelligence performance when users attempt to save excessively large files.
    Hope this helps.
