330 Auto Navigation

Hi all,
I have just purchased this product and am already completely stuck. I'm trying to install the Route 66 cd which came with it into my computer but can get no further when it says I must insert the sd card. I know nothing about such things, but would be very grateful if someone could tell me what to do next!
I've put the card into the 330 device and connected it via the USB cable provided into the computer. Nothing happened. I tried switching the 330 on, and it came on, but this made no difference to the problem with installing the cd, it still asks me to insert the sd card. Should I be putting the sd card directly into the computer? If so, I can't find a slot which takes it!
Also, if I can get past this basic problem, how do I go about transferring photos and music on to the 330 from my computer? The instructions are very brief and really only cover what to do once the files are on the 330. Is the compatible memory card writer to which it refers, the 330 itself? Or do I need some other piece of equipment?
Please help, I am completely clueless with this stuff!

Hi, I have the same problem but it's now worse!
I tried putting the card in the sat nav and it worked but could not get a gps signal. I left it for a while and it still didn't get a gps signal so I put the disk into my pc and plugged the sat nav into it via the cable provided. It said it had to format the card first which it did but then it wouldn't put anything on saying that I should check the card wasn't right protected (this is the card that came with the sat nav by the way).
When I go into the sat nav menu now, it lets me go to video, mp3, photo, etc but when I click Navigation, it makes a noise but stays on the menu screen. What have I done and how do I fix it please? I couldn't see anything in the manual about what to do with the cd etc so I used my initiative and it looks like that was a bad idea!

Nokia 330 Auto Navigation

Has nobody out there got a 330 Auto Navigation system?
I lost the car lighter end of my in-car charger over six months ago. Despite many emails to the Nokia help centre and to Nokia shops, nobody could help me. Not even supply me with a new one!!
Now I am informed that Nokia do not supply this charger any more. It is a DC3 12/24V input, 6V 2A output.
No help from Nokia then!!
Can anyone help me. Even a mains charger would help. If my sat nav has not been charged for some months will it lose it's data?

the closest match to the dc-3 is the dc-4 - not sure if it would be compatible though - mebbe get nokia to try testing and confirm this?

The indicator should be in the Top-Right Corner..
..but see that under Connectivity-->WLAN-->Settings-->Show WLAN Availability is set to 'YES'..

330 Car Navigation & GNS FM9 TMC adapter subscript...

So far the official webpage of europe.nokia.com.
When entering the gns-gmbh page there is an offer for Europe to buy that adapter for 24,90€.
But you need special voucher code from your seller, regular price of adapter is around 50€. This voucher my seller missed to hand over not only to me,also to a lot of other customer.
No problem I thought, give GNS a call. To get this special code for purchasing the adapter, GNS gave information to call the german hotline or go to the seller.
It was easier for me to contact the hotline, but even they have been very honest, they have not been aware about the special offer made officially by Nokia !!!
One of the hotlines arguments was that it would depend on the seller to get this voucher code !! How that can be ?
You're selling an TMC-adaptable unit w/o possibility to get the needed adapter ? They even did not announce this adapter as an official accessory ? Why the hell not ?
But they promised me to address this issue to management. Let's wait

Middle east maps for nokia 500 auto navigation

Thank you very much for your support, i would like if somebody can help me in my Device ( nokia 500 auto navigation ) i installed the Maps in my SD Card but once i put the SD card in my Device and checking the Mas its showing me the Maps is Locked ,
i would like to knowhow can i Unlock it .

I fully agree with your assessment. And I don't like to be treated like a monkey.
Nokia is showing such a low respect and care to their customers, especially in the Middle East. They became maybe too big to care for their customers. Apparently they have forgotten that what made them so big is precisely those customers they are ignoring today. It is a pity.
I am looking for a solution for the same problem since 9 month ow: updating middle east maps on my Nokia 500 Auto Navigation. thout any positive result.
What is making this case looking even worst is the promises I got from my Nokia reseller that maps WILL be updated on a regula basis!!! But till today, total blackout from our friends at Nokia.
And the funny thing : while typing this note, a popup appeared on my screen about Customer Feedback on the qualiity of Nokia support. They are really incredible those guys.

POP email does not work on Auto Navigation Email Messages

I was told by BB that this was supposed to be fixed with the new update. BB did not fix this! You cannot recieve POP email on your auto navigation systems. Mine is a 2013 Lexus 450H. Does anyone have any feedback on this issue.
Most of the email providers, ATT, Comcast, etc are POP email providers.
The Q10 does work with IMAP providers, but BB is ignoring half the email market!
So this is a huge issue.

Try creating a free email account with one of the other providers that are easy to setup on the iPhone. If you only see the problem with one account, it might be a restriction set by the email provider, maybe they only let you send/recieve on their network.

Nokia 500 auto navigation will not work

I have a nokia 500 auto navigation and it will not show maps or it start to boot and freezup and will not work Help!

I had the same problem a couple of months after activating the gps.
I think my problem came up after I had loaded some songs and video onto the SD card.
I used the DVD to restore the maps etc. Be careful with that. The software to run the video/music is not included on the restore DVD.
I had to do the restore multiple times. Finally, I found an update on the Nokia website and did the update. DON'T DO THAT = my bluetooth has now stopped working. Bluetooth says it's on and you can turn it off, however, there's no change. It says on, but no devices can connect to the gps anymore.
Frustrated with Nokia? YES. I have had it sent back, but since I bought it on ebay, forget about that.

Nokia 500 Auto Navigator -- Navigation License

I've now searched, everywhere, and send various calls and e-mails to Nokia with NO response, hope somebody can help:
This device is NOT a phone, it is the Nokia 500 Auto Navigator GPS. Please see on the Nokia web site link http://europe.nokia.com/A4577607 .
The devise shows the map, current location, and tracks the route traveled, but does not navigate. As soon as I try to select a route, I shows an error on the GPS screen " NO VALID LICENSE FOUND FOR THIS ROUTE". On the device it shows certain profiles and the one I believe to be the Navigation License called NAVI RSA and NAVY EUROPE are locked. I need to know how to either unlock this, or if I need to purchase a navigation license, how do I do this on this GPS devise manufactured and supplied by NOKIA. Again this device is NOT a phone, so I do not have the options of the menus to purchase extra licenses.
Please assist ASAP, and please do not again refer me back to distibutor Autopage where I purchased the devise, as they can not supply me with any information, and told me several times to contact NOKIA, as they should provide this support.
Hope to hear from someone soon.

Why won't you try to online purchase the rest of the navigation you need? I mean, it's possible for the general phone navigation, why it won't for navigations too??

Auto Navigation 500 maps

hi all , i have auto navigation 500 , and i am searching for Egypt Maps , do any one know any news about this map ? , when it will be published ?

As far as i know up to this day; Nokia will do nothing for supporting Nokia 500 Auto Navigation devices. They will not hear or respond anything related with it. I' ve purchased this device in Dubai, and now i live in Turkey. I have the europe map in the DVD; but of course the maps are locked. And they don' t even sell the keys for it. And even they didn't update the maps for this device almost 2 years and in the future they won' t; believe me. They have the chance to improve the software, but they won' t do it either. They prefer that everybody forgets about this device.
What Nokia do is not legal. If any of you know to deal with legal cases that would help maybe, but i don' t have time now.
The better choice maybe the hacking it back to win ce and use a software of a better known GPS company.
I am quiet dissapointed and angry with Nokia.. Because i gave money to a very useless and expensive product.

Auto Navigation to Next field.

Hi All,
I have a typical requirement. I have three fields for entering Telephone Numbers. The 1st is Area Code( Length 3 Chars), 2nd is Exchange( Length 3 Chars), , 3rd is Number( Length 4 Chars), .
I want the cursor to navigate automatically to 2nd field (i.e to exchange) when user finishes entering the 1st field( i. e three numbers in the Area Code field)

You can use 'Auto skip' property in your field.
If you go on the property palette of your item there would be this property.

Dont know how, but i managed to make the automatic iweb navigation rollover a certain colour... does anyone know how to manipulate this if i want to...

Nokia 500 auto navigation

I live in Portugal and I bought the nokia 500 auto gps. While searching the nokia pages I saw the update for my nokia. I made the update and all went fine. Then when i got to use the fm transmiter i saw that the frequency i used was no longer possible. I use frequency 108.0 witch worked prior to the update now the range goes up to 107.9. I can´t use this frequency because it was many jams and there is no other possible. Can i correct my gps so that i can use the frequency 108.0 again? Because in this way I can't use the FM transmitter. Please can someone help me?

I dont live in Portugal but surely you have more options than 108.0....
most FM radios go from 85.0 to 108.0 or so....
I use the FM transmitter on my N500 with the defualt 88.1 FM
Im not sure i understand your problem....does Portugal have THAT many FM radio stations that you have NO empty FM frequencies? Or is your radio not working correctly and you cant tune in an unused frequency?

Not ignoring you but Series 40 Ovi Maps 2.1 seems to have it's own set of rules as very firmware/region specific in it's deployment; on all other devices opening Ovi Maps application would re-create E:\Cities folder on memory card which is then recognised by Ovi Suite > Maps

My Nokia 330 Auto Navigation firmware seems damaged.
Does you have it or know where can I download it so I can re-flash it.
I have serch at all internet for those 3 files and i can not find it to start up again:

sadly the only info i could dig up from the users manual is that it can play these containers: mpeg-4, wmv, asf, mpg, and avi and it just states that : "the application does not necessarily support all the variations of these formats."

Well i am bored so about the windows media encoder i can't help u but try to play one of those if it plays well u know what codec it can handle ( the quality doesn't matter since it's 704*400 resolution @ random fps and bitrate. hope the size is not a problem, i think most 320*240 phones can't handle above 640*320 resolution but urs has a 3.5 screen....)

Navigating from Cue Points in a FLV

I am using Flash CS3 and AS2 on a PC. I am making a CD in Flash, for a client. The CD has videos, images and text. What I need is be able to go to the next scene once an FLV has finished playing. Also if a new FLV can be loaded once the curent ends. The FLV is in the FLVPlayback component. I need to add Cue Points which I can use to navigate with. The client would prefer a minimum of buttons, and thus auto navigation once a point is reached. I am not an expert with ActionScript, so please make your answers idiot friendly. I would prefer to avoid the need for me to use third party software or add-ons unless absolutely necessary. Thanks in advance.

open the as2 help files, click on "actionscript 2.0 component language reference", click on flvplayback component and click on flvplayback class. you only need to check the following sections:
flvplayback.complete (to detect when an flv has completed play so you can start your next flv)
flvplayback.addascuepoints (to add cuepoints that you can use to navigate).
there is sample code in the help files. copy the sample code and adjust the instance name(s) to match your project. if you have any trouble, return with your code attempt and the issue.
