360View schedule ok, but user can't

In Infoview a normal user can't schedule a webi report, although in 360View the user can schedule the document and can add documents to the map.
The following error occurs:
An error has occurred: Sorry, you do not have the right to 'Add objects to the folder' (ID: 1) for '' (ID: 49). Please contact your administrator if you require this right.
The same error occurs when the user tries to modify it's preferences in infoview.
An administrator can do both.
What else can it be than user rights or other suggestions?

Has an answer for this appeared? I'm having the same exact issue in XI 3.1.

Set up Mobile, but users can not authenticate

I have set up a iPrint Mobile appliance, have AirPrint and Email printing working to non-secured printers.
When I try to LOGIN with the iOS iPrint client, I can only LOGIN with the Admin user, not any of the users that I have imported with LDAP (from eDirectory)
Trying AirPrint, when I click on a secure printer, it will not acknowledge, just blinks and will not select
It appears to me that the password does not get brought over to the iPrint appliance on the user import, so users can't authenticate.
Any ideas on what more test to perform, or what the issue may be? I should be able to print to secure printers right?

OK, appreciated, I'll try and find an iOS 6 device and test with that.
About email printing: When I send a List Printers command, it does not list any of the secure printers. So is it correct that printing by email to secure printers is not supported? Can't see anything on that in the docs, though it makes sense from authentication point of view.

Secure printing should work with iOS 6 devices, but I don't believe
it's currently working with iOS 7. This is the only note I see in the
docs which doesn't mention iOS 7.

GPO Applied but User Can Change The Settings

I have a 2008 R2 domain. I have a GPO with computer configuration settings linked to OU containing computers only. Users are placed in a separate OU with no GPO is linked.
Now at the clients I see the GPO policies (such as wsus, snmp settings) getting applied normally but when I log-in to these systems as domain admin I can change these settings. How can I prevent these settings from getting changed at local level?

Yes, you are right. When you log in as the domain admin, the group policy settings pushed from Domain GPO is visible on the local system, if you configure them correctly.

Scponly with chroot setup but user can STILL forward ports... [SOLVED]

I'm using scponly and have chrooted a user to his home directory. I noticed however that I can ssh into the box enabling port forwarding which is a dangerous security breach in my opinion. I'd like to have the ability keep port forwarding for other users, but for the scponly user, I'd like to disallow ssh port forwarding. Anyone know how?

Turns out this can be accomplished by the addition of two new lines to the sshd_config:
Match user USERNAME
AllowTcpForwarding no

Ending a session but user can still log in...

I've created a series of jsp pages, and put headers in them to prevent caching of output. I have a bean to store the user info and the bean is stored in the session.
Fbean u = (Fbean) session.getAttribute("beanname");
When the user logs out, I have:
session.removeAttribute("beanname");
So it works fine at first. The user hits the BACK button and he's taken to a login page. If he presses the BACK button again he's taken to a page where the "PAGE EXPIRED ...hit refresh..." The problem is when I hit the refresh button I'm logged in again as if I didn't even log out.
Can anyone help solve this issue?

didn't even log out.Maybe the problem is in that page what you press refesh on. Are you checking the session to see if the user is a valid logged in user? This is just a guess
So when user logs in it sets a session attribute (let's say his/her username). So on the page where you are refreshing, the first thing you should do is

Users can delete GPO deployed printers

Hello,
I have a problem with a GPO deployed printer per-user using the print services "deploy via GPO".
Printers available for users, that's all right. But users can remove printers in some cases
(I'm still can't exactly reproduce this) and this affects other users logged on the same machine. One user removes printer and another can't print. Is it normal behavior or I have missed something?
P.S. In Security tab users can only Print.
P.S.S Client and server on Windows Server 2012 R2

There is a GPO to configure that:
User Configuration -> Policies -> Administrative Templates -> Printers -> Prevent deletion of printers. You need to enable it.

What is the "best" way to configure iTunes on an iMac with personal user acounts so each user can access the media library but sync devices on their personal user account?

I am trying to determine the best way to set up our imac so each user account can access the same media (songs, movies etc.) through itunes and also back up and manage their personal devices under their own personal user account. There are 4 users on our iMac. Me, my wife, and our 2 children. We have built an extensive library of music/media together using the same iTunes store account. I would like to establish a seperate apple id and iTunes store account for each of us going forward but have the ability for each of us to share our purchases. What is the best way to configure our system and devices in order to allow shared access to media and at the same time allow for individual management of devices including contacts, apps, photos, etc. Please help, I would like to do this once!

OK, seeing as no-one replied (presumably because a lot of this information is on the forums in bits elsewhere) here's how I've got on so far.
Applications - just went through them. About the only one I needed was my media server app. Just downloaded and re-installed, had a quick look back though my email to find the license key and it all went on fine. Installation never seemed quite right on my old machine so solved that problem too.
Movies - New iMovies just copied across the clips and projects into their respective folders. Seems to have worked but haven't checked it all that thoroughly. Some duplicate footage here but I can trim this out at some point when I get a chance to go through here.
Documents - Just copied these across.
Photos - used an app called iPhoto Library Manager. You can download for free but have to pay to use the part that consolidates your libraries. Possibly if I was willing to spend a bit more time I could have got away without using this but given I didn't know the state of my different libraries and just how many duplicates I had this was too much of a convenience to ignore. Also got my library into a state where I can now spend a few hours organising it a bit better with Faces / Events etc.
Not attempted Music or iPhone sync yet as been stuck trying to solve a problem with my power adapter.

Two users can't login to Bonjour, but other users can

All the Macs in my house are set to log into iChat on startup, which creates a defacto messaging network around the house. Quite handy. But now, on one particular machine (a G5 iMac iSight) two users can't seem to log into Bonjour, although on the same machine all the other users can.
I've looked at some other posts on this site, and have checked that Address Book shows 'me' as correct for both users. The Firewall is not set to Essential Services Only, and there is no limit on the bandwidth. The Quicktime streaming setting is set to 1.5 mbps.
In iChat, when using one of the two troublesome logins on the G5, when I click cmd-2 to bring up the Bonjour list, it says Bonjour is not enabled, and gives a click button to enable it. But clicking it does nothing - no effect whatsoever.
When those two same users use the external Buddy List (and an AIM screen name) their iChat works fine.

This is what I have found out.
It relates more to Shares shown in the Finder but may offer clues.
I have G4 Tower that has been upgraded from Jaguar actually, to Panther, Tiger and Finally Leopard.
Along the way I bought a MacBook Pro. (Now on Snow Leopard)
At this Point I changed the G4's Computer name to represent it was the G4 and called the MacBook Pro "MacBook Pro" rather than my first Admin Account name (otherwise both Computer names and Short names would have been the same)
I also changed the Leopard's My Card in the Address Book to give it a different Name in iChat.
Somewhere during this process the G4 ended up with a Ralph-G4.local ID, a computer's name of Ralph Johns's Computer, a Address Book ID of Ralph G4 and the short name of ralphjohns
The MacBook Pro has MacBook Pro as the Computer name and .local name and the short name is alsoralphjohns. The Address Book My Card is my full name.
Now in discussion with a Level 4 poster who knows more about this than I do I found out that in Leopard if File Sharing is Off the Bonjour ID is still supposed to show in the Snow Leopard Shares.
However if it is ON whether you use AFP or SMB or Both it is only supposed to appear once and mine was appearing twice.
Changing the Computer name to something else seemed to confuse things (I could not Log on to share from Either Computer)
Changing the name back resolved that but changed the .local ID on the G4 as well.
(Changing the .local name back to what it was before seems to have had now effect now.)
However the G4 now only shows once in the MacBook Pro Shares.
I do not think the Upgrades are the distinguishing feature more my poor attempts at making sure the new (then) MacBook Pro had a different ID than the G4.
I have been able to Bonjour Video and send files as well as see the Other Computer in the Bonjour Buddy lists.
So in summary.
The Address Book My Cards have to be Different.
Sometimes changing the Computer name or the .local name does seem to cause issues in File Sharing - which may have some influence on Bonjour as a whole.
Whilst my G4 was showing up in the MacBook Pro as two Shares it was listing the .local name and the Computer's Name as shown in Sharing which were different.
It maybe this if it is happening for this computer that may give clues.

They're stil there; Apple decided to hide your Library folder. Hold the Alt/Option key while selecting Go in a Finder menubar and select Library.
Do you have other backups, made with a proper backup app? If not, that's the best way to back up your data, rather than doing it "piecemeal" via drag & drop.

User can send but not receive emails

So I've just set up a band new server from scratch and am having trouble getting the email service to work 100%.
My dns is all correct, forward and reverse. The output of a changeip -checkhostname command is perfect. My domain name and its public ip address both point to each other fine and my A, MX and CNAME records have all been set at the domain vendor to point to my particular server.
I've made one user in WGM and that user can send emails no problem. But when I try to send an email back (or reply to the original message), this is the error I receive in the bounce message:

Solved my own problem: what was needed was to add a "server" entry to the A-records list that pointed to the IP.

The single download means that you won't be able to redownload it from the store without paying, either on a computer's iTunes or an iOS device - it doesn't stop you from copying the audiobook to your other computers or syncing it to your iOS devices, you just can't redownload it. (I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.)
You can download audiobooks on your computer's iTunes and sync them to iOS devices, you do not have to buy them directly on the device (if you do then you can copy them back to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the device and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option on your computer's iTunes).
What you are doing to sync them should work i.e.
- connecting the iPad to your Mac
- selecting the iPad on your Mac's iTunes
- selecting its Books tab and selecting the audiobooks that you want to sync to the iPad and syncing/applying that selection.
You should then get an audiobooks option in the Music app on your iPad. If they aren't appearing there then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music on the device - if you have audiobooks on the iPad then they should be listed there under an 'audiobooks' heading.
By 'restart the iPad' do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing its Music app via the iPad's taskbar : Force an app to close in iOS.
And do a soft-reset and retry syncing.
I assume that music and other items sync ok ?

Yes, if you purchased it in an Apple store, they should be able to assist you. Bring your MBP with you as well as the Drive.
