why would this happen and seems like some of this is cached at webserver and intermittently clearing webserver cache clears this issue.
Any inputs as to why this would happen and best way to avoid this to reoccur.

  • HTTP 404 issue whenSSO to InfoView using WindowsAD

    Dear all,
I got the same issue as Mark Richardson (please read below). I was able to implement this SSO to InfoView using Java SSO (aka Vintela, Kerberos) with Authentication: Windows AD in QA environment. But now in Prod after putting all the settings i got error HTTP 404 like Mark's case below.
I got 'Credentials obtained' in stdout. And i was able to get a ticket when running kinit. But when client browser tried to open the InfoView URL, i got that HTTP 404 error.
I've applied all the required settings on client browser as per Tim Ziemba (and also OSS Note).
Any idea what could be the issue?
WinAD SSO errors for JAVA InfoView after SP3
WinAD SSO errors for JAVA InfoView after SP3
    ======================================================================================================
I had successfully deployed the WinAD SSO configuration for both the .NET and JAVA InfoView as documented in the SAP materials provided by Tim Ziemba and Miles Escow.
Yesterday, I applied the new BOE-XI (R-3.1) Service Pack 3 on our DEV server...and accepted the RE-DEPLOY WebApplications option during the install.
The .NET WinAD SSO is working 100% OK at http://<servername>/InfoViewApp/logon.aspx
However, after I updated all the server.xml and web.xml files as required for the Tomcat55 folders that were overwritten by the service pack - I am getting 404 "The requested resource is not available" errors for both the LogonService and the LogonNoSso.
    http://<servername:8080>//InfoViewApp/logon/logonService.do
    http://<servername:8080>/InfoViewApp/logonNoSso.jsp
If I comment-out the REALM and FILTER MAPPING sections that are mentioned on Pages 17 and 18 of Tim Ziemba's "Complete" document then I get a Manual Login Screen that works - but no SSO.
Is it possible that the logonService.do and logonNoSso.jsp are broken by BOE-XI (R-3.1) Service Pack 3, and is there any way to get those components back...?

    Hi Aswin,
Vintela libraries changed in SP3. Usually a 404 error means:
    - Typo in any of the xml tags (you can check opening it in IE)
    - Typo in the SPN (cannot be found). However, you mention seeing in stdout.log "credentials obtained" so it looks that's fine
    - If you are using keytab, comment those lines in web.xml and use the password in Tomcat > Java
If nothing mentioned above solve the issue, I will suggest you to enable debug in Tomcat and post here the stdout.log

The problem has been finally solved, it's due to the wrong configuration of the pipeline URL in SLD for the integration server, the port should be 80*, not 5*00, thanks to all of you.

  • Error executing application in the PDA

    Hi!
I'm doing the first steps with SAP Mobile Infrastructure.
    I have WAS 640, J2EE and ABAP with SP16.
    SAP MI 2.5 SP09.
I'm trying to run in a PDA the very first examples from the SAP Develloper Studio MDK Help.
In WebConsole, I have created an Application MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEJSP and  have uploaded the
    MDK_configExampleJSP.war.zip file.
Next, I assignied it to the device ID and after syncronization I have the file MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEJSP.war in directory MIwebapps.
Restarting the Mobile Engine, a new folder is created:
    MIWebappsMDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEJSP with other sub folders.
Running the Mobile Client, I have the new link to this application, but when I tap it, I have the error:
    "Not found(404)
    Original request:/
    MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEJSP/start
    Not found request:/
    MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEJSP/start"
All this works fine in a Laptop (WIN32).
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks in advance.
    Arnaldo Calçada.

    Hi,
error 404 means: Page not Found.
OnLaptop we have a complete JDK with the TOOLS.jar available. The benefit on that is, while we are running our App, MI can compile JSP to JAVA files and display them.
On PDA we do not have TOOLS.jar available. What we need to do is, we need to compile our JSP files with the MDK, while we create our WAR file. While creating the WAR file, after you selected to project, tick "Add JSP as compiled classes". This will solve the 404 issue on the PDA.
It is correct that you do not have a startup.bat file on the PDA. A PDA has no DOS shell like a PC and so STARTUP.BAT makes no sence. The startup is done automatically at restart of the PDA. You can find the MIServer shortcut in the folder WINDOWS/STARTUP on the PDA. IF you want to start it manually, just tick that shortcut. If it is already running, no second instance will be started, so it is not a problem to do that. BUT: as you can open the URL http://localhost:4444 in IE on the PDA, this machine is working fine. IF you do have problems, check the JCPOut file in the root folder of the PDA. You will find the Java trace there. If MI is running, there is a sharing restriction on this file. In that case, make a copy of the file on the PDA and transfer the copy down to your PC to open it.
I have create a BLOG, how to debug into PDA MI installations. Unfortunately, because you debug on a PC, you will most probably not find the 404 error there, because on a PC the JSP files will be compiled with the available tools.jar. Unfortunately it does not help to copy tools.jar to the PDA. The used Java implementation NSIcom Creme does not support that file.
Hope this helps to understand and solve this issue.

    Oliver

  • Random blank screen in SRM 7.0 with IE 10 punching out to catalog

    Hi -
After 4 days of insane hours testing, we're running into a complete brick wall with SRM 7.0 and IE 10.  We have a Punchout Catalog that loads the initial page, but the second the page is submitted to go to the second page inside the catalog, the page throws a blank white screen and you can't continue.
We've more or less ripped the catalog down to bare bones to see if we can get it to submit a form, which we have a couple of times, but then we've had the same code fail other times.
    Its worth noting the following:
    1) SSL is turned on.
    2) we currently use this catalog in production with IE7/8 without any problems.
    3) the catalog is deployed hundreds of times around the world and this is the ONLY instance where anything of the sort is happening.
    4) if you reference the same catalog outside of SAP, with the same browser, it works flawlessly.
    I'm at a loss.  Please...anybody...help?

I'm adding additional information here guys.  I made a more complete post elsewhere.  Here it is:
    Hi -
One of our customers has been standardized on IE8 for punching out to our catalog.   They want to move to IE10, but we're having really bizarre issues during the testing phase.  As a prereq, please note that the way this solution works is that they start their session inside SAP, punchout to our e-catalog, but the site retains a "frameset" (a traditional frameset...not iframes/ajax div etc) with the top frame being a way to return to the SAP system, and the bottom frame being the catalog.  The bottom frame is encoded and we don't really have any way to know if its manipulating our catalog code, or what.
ISSUE: In IE8, there are no issues with the system.  They use our shopping cart, add things to the cart, go to the review cart on the next page, and punch the data back into SAP.  In IE10, it blank screens on the second page, almost like a custom SAP 404 error - just completely blank...when you view source, it IS a 404 "this page cannot be displayed", but the URL that is given is for the internal SAP system, rather than our catalog (which it SHOULD be trying to look for a page on our catalog rather than an internal SAP page.  So its more or less like it doesn't like something on our catalog page, environment, whatever...and then redirects to a internal SAP page that doesn't exist/isn't working correctly).  Every time anything is clicked on the page (form submission, link, etc) that has to refresh the entire page/frame, the system white screens.  We are using iframes (yes, I know .  Ajax issues with IE8 was the driver there, IE8 was a requirement for our customer due to SAP...) to submit certain datapoints on the page, and we don't have any problem submitting to the iframe.  The second you submit to the whole page (or frame, I guess, if you want to look at it that way), white screen/404 issue.
    FACTORS:
    • It works fine in IE8.  It also works perfectly in IE10 OUTSIDE of the frameset SAP is generating.  Even inside of the customers secure environment.  The second SAP gets involved, the issue occurs.  We've never seen this issue with any other deployment of anything, anywhere...other ERPs, other browsers, etc.
    • SSL:  We managed to get the testers to get past the first page by turning off SSL, but they had to work their way outside of the traditional security in SAP as well so I'm not sure if this has any relevance at all.  But SSL compatibility with SAP or frameset as it pertains to IE10 was a thought process.
    • It doesn't seem to be a form submission issue.  We initially thought it might have something to do with the way IE10 interprets frame ID as we were submitting to _self, etc, but turns out traditional links don't work either with no sort of target information.
    • It's definitely on the page load itself, not on the submission of form data to the page, when the white screen happens.  We noticed that half of the page would load for a split second before it white screened.  Initially we thought it was based on something that was being sent, but its definitely past any header submissions or form posts.
    • We pretty much broke apart the entirety of the code and weeded out all kinds of factors and tested them independently and in different combinations...so extensively that I'm almost positive it isn't a traditional coding issue. The result pages ("second page") we set for the tests had almost no content at all...all of which is traditional HTML that has been supported by every browser since the dark ages.  We could not find any true consistent patterns.  Sometimes the user could make it to the second page, other times not (only on the tests, never on the actual catalog), but usually it was the same for all test scenarios (so if we had 9 test scenarios, they'd all fail, or they'd all succeed).
    Conclusions thus far:
    • We're almost positive it isn't code related. However, it could absolutely be caching related?  Although we have the user clearing caching almost every page test, I'm not sure if that clears everything like page load over SSL or something of that nature?
    • Clearly there is some major difference between IE10 and IE8 and how they interpret the same environment.  This might (probably is) just be a SAP issue.  Could it be our SSL type?  What is interpreted differently in those scenarios between the two browsers inside the same SAP wrapper?
Anything else you can think of would be greatly helpful.  We've been testing for countless hours....we have a really technically advanced team...really can't catch a break on this one or find any consistencies. If SAP wasn't a factor, we'd have this solved in 15 minutes.  I'm not really sure what else to explore since the SAP environment is in play.  Thanks for your help!

all the threads are "unread" and my id has magically changed. did i get flagged by "the man" or something? i'm going to try simply changing it back, but i wanted someone to see this... screenshot follows. i did NOT change my id or in any way mess with my preferneces. haven't been in there (prefs) for a month or more.

It looks like you've been a victim of the infamous account splitting...
i was thinking that, but it seems to have cleared up...
    full scenario.
i came into work and unlocked my system (had remained on all night - xp pro sp3, firefox 3.0.10).
i noticed i was STILL LOGGED IN HERE from yesterday.
hit refresh knowing that being on my home machine last night would have invalidated this login. nope. still logged in, at least it looked like it, even after refresh.
so i logged off using the "Sign Out" link at hte top of the page.
that worked and i hit login (the one that appears where my avatar and "welcome, dave milbut" appares in the shot above).
logged in with my normal login and password. refreshed page back to start of 2 forums in seperate tabs (ps lounge and this forum).
i went to click on a topic in the lounge about buying a new monitor ("Ezio Monitors") and got the 404. i refreshed and the switched tabs to this forum. refreshed and went to page 2 to find the 404 thread.
posted there that the 404 issue was still happening and that's when i noticed the issue.

  • SharePoint 2013 Picture Library Thumbnail Preview not Working

We are using SharePoint 2013 Enterprise edition.  We are using an enterprise wiki site collection template.  In the Site Collection Images library (Picture library), the thumbnail preview is NOT working.  For some users, they can see all of
the thumbnail previews, for other users they cannot see any.  Some users can see a few thumbnail preview images and the users that could not see any thumbnail preview images, after refreshing a few times could see SOME of the thumbnail preview images.
In addition it is likely not a security issue as all users have contribute rights to the library and I have SCA rights.  It is also not a browser issue as one user on my team has IE 9 with nearly (maybe identical) identical settings as I do, who am also
using IE 9.  We are having the problems in IE 8, 9 and 10.  Also, how could it be a browser issue if using IE 9 for example, users can see some of the thumbnail preview images but not others.  Lastly, it is not a file extension issue as the
problem happens with jpg's as well as png's.
Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!   FWIW - I'm chalking this up as a bug as it is SO odd and inconsistent, I cannot understand it any other way.

    Bill

  • JSP loading issue: HTTP 404 error

I have a JSP page that stopped loading up.
It gives me the Apache HTTP 404 error that it can not find the JSP page.
There are no servlet classes associated with the JSP page.
Simply, it is an HTML page calling a JSP page.
This issue appeared after we(IT team) incorporated servlets on the machine.
Directory structure changed, but it shouldn't have effected our JSP pages.
    Directory structure
    ../wwwroot/Finance/Labor.html goes to ../wwwroot/Finance/Labor.jsp

And how does the HTML page invoke the JSP page?
Are you doing it via a <form> or are you linking to it through an <a href>?
You really didn't provide very much information. There are a lot of things that could go wrong. For example, Tomcat generally likes its JSPs to be in a specific place which is NOT the default Apache document root. You'd explicitly have to configure Tomcat to use the same Apache document root though.
Similarly, application specific Servlets are usually in a sub-directory of the one containing JSP files for that application. In other words, you don't really put JSPs in c:/JSPs on one machine, HTML in /home/rycherX/www on another machine and Servlets in \\rycherX\workspace\Servlets on a third.
The first place to start is to tell us what Servlet Engine you just installed. Tomcat? JBoss? WebSphere?

    Hi
If I use APEX_ITEM.TEXTAREA with Embeded PL SQL Gateway and submit the page, it throws "HTTP 404-page not found" error.
It doesn't happen when I use apache server instead of EPG.
Our production APEX is down because of this issue.
Any help/suggestions would be greately appreciated.
Here are the simple steps to reproduce the same in a EPG environment.
Note: It works fine in apex.oracle.com [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=20193:6]
Create a blank page with a report region for the following query. Add a self submit button to it. Run the page and hit the submit button and you will get 404-page not found error.

    Hi Masa,
I am also facing the same issue. After creating a Target Mapping tile for our custom application, when I save I get the below error :
Configuration changes not saved for tile 'Target Mapping'
Error (404, Not Found) in OData response for PUT "/sap/opu/odata/UI2/PAGE_BUILDER_CUST/PageChipInstances(pageId='X-SAP-UI2-CATALOGPAGE%3Aicch_report',instanceId='00O2THPMYBCTODLKRWF1EBX3F')": HTTP request failed Details: Resource PageChipInstance not found.
I assigned a customizing transport as suggest in your response and saved again, but that did not help either.
The surprising thing is, when our basis consultant (who has SAP_ALL) saves the tiles, he can save them. This tells me that all the necessary services to create/save the tiles are active.
We have tried to trace my userid for missing authorizations - but none was found.
Not sure what is causing the error when I save the tile..

  • Having issues setting custom 404 page...

    Hey all,
I'm not sure if I'm missing a step, I created a custom 404 page ("404.html") and it's in the root of the website folder.  Under Websites (tab) > Server Website, I click Advanced Settings and set the custom error page to "/404.html", yet entering, say, website.com/abc, still brings me to the generic Apache 404 page.
I also tried specifying the 404 page as "/404" and "404.html", and I tried adding it to the index file list.. No dice.
I'm sure I could do it manually via the .htaccess file, but before I do that (and before I inquire about doing that), I want to make sure I'm doing everything I should be doing through the Server App.
    Any ideas?

Okay, I ended up creating and using a .htaccess file to override Apache's default settings, since I had issues saving changes to the .conf files in Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2, it's very locked down, and for good reason of course.
For those with the same issue,
0.5) In OS X Server app's Website settings, click "Advanced Settings" and check the "allow overrides using .htaccess files" box.
    1) Create a new document in your favorite text editor.  I used TextWrangler, free from the App Store.
    2) Copy the text
    ErrorDocument 404 /pathtofile
and change /pathtofile to the path to your custom 404 page, which can be HTML or PHP.
    3) Save the file as ".htaccess" ideally into the root of your website folder directly, because the dot at the beginning makes it hidden, so you can't save it to the desktop and move it later (unless you show hidden files via that Terminal command)
    4) Done!  You don't have to restart Apache or OS X Server or OS X for the change to take effect, just go to yoursite.com/someRandomURLthatDoesn'tExist and watch the magic.
