5.7.1 Command rejected - EPrint / Works from laptops not mobile devices

I have a new HP6500A Plus Printer and have trouble using EPrint with 3 mobile devices (Blackberry, Samsung & iTouch).  I get an error stating "5.3.0 Other mail system problem - '5.7.1 Command rejected'.  The process works fine when I send an email to print from my 2 laptops.  The ePrint Center records the emails that come in from my laptops but do not list the emails sent via my 3 mobile devices.  I followed all the typical/basic things - printer on, network on, correct address, no restrictions on who can sent printer emails, etc.  Any suggestions on how to get the mobile devices to work?

Does anyone know if there is a way to share ring tones or alert tones purchased from iTunes between mobile devices?  I purchased them on my iPhone and they come up on my computer but I cannot transfer them to my iPad.  Is it possible to share them between mobile devices like any other song?

If you just want to select the whole song as your ringtone (without cutting out the best part) go to your computer and check were the file is saved. When found create a copy of it and rename its extension from m4a to m4r. Now drag&drop that file into itunes and there is your ringtone

  • [solved] Troubleshoot ssh with keys (works from LAN, not WAN)

I'm trying to set up ssh so that I can connect to my work computer from home. It is pretty much essential that I keep the work box as secure as possible at all times. (So I can't disable the firewall, come home and test it because IT would not be at all happy.)
I'm not sure if this is an Arch question, a Fedora question or a general Linux/networking question.
The work box is running Fedora 17. It has a firewall eerily like the "simple stateful firewall" described on Arch's wiki. It is running sshd. Public key authentication is enabled. No other form of authentication is enabled. It has a rule allowing ssh connections.
My laptop is running Arch. It has a firewall very like that described on the "simple stateful firewall" page. It has a couple of rules allowing stuff I need at home (printer and something I had to enable for the LAN).
Initially, I was given an internal ip address. I got this working fine i.e. I could ssh into the box from my laptop while sitting next to it in my office over the LAN. I'm using the default form of key pair generated on Arch (i.e. rsa) and am using gpg-agent with ssh support in lieu of ssh-agent to manage keys. Pin entry is using the qt front end as I'm on KDE. (I adapted KDE's config so that it starts gpg-agent with ssh support for the session so that I didn't end up with two instances.)
Once the firewall was in place and sshd was running, they gave me a public ip address. At this point, no port was opened in their firewall to allow WAN connections but I tested the public ip address from within the LAN and it once again worked fine.
Once I'd confirmed the machine could connect out after getting a public ip, they arranged for the port to be opened for ssh. However, I cannot connect to the machine from home.

debug1: connect to address xxx.xxx.xxx.x port nn: Connection timed out
ssh: connect to host xxx.xxx.xxx.x port nn: Connection timed out
xxx.xxx.xxx.x is the public ip (works fine from LAN)
    nn is the port number
username is my user name (same on both machines)
The options for the host from ssh_config are:
    AddressFamily inet
    Compression yes
    ControlMaster auto
    ControlPath ~/.ssh/socket-%r@%h:%p
and the only generic option applied to all hosts is just a line to insist on protocol 2 which I think is default now anyway but I followed the wiki and specified it to be sure.
What have I missed? My networking knowledge is pretty basic at best. (I got this far using Arch's wiki, Fedora's documentation and a little trial and error. That seemed to work well but now I've added google and still can't figure it out. All the hits I get concern cases where the LAN connection works but authentication fails over WAN. But I'm not getting that far - it looks like my work box doesn't respond at all...)

So I discovered I'd also managed to kill off LAN access as well as the machine's ability to use any sort of DNS... (I did say it needed to be secure...)
Anyway, I fixed that, reestablished working ssh from LAN but still can't get it to work from WAN.
Question: if ShieldsUp! reports the port as stealthed does that mean that the port has not actually been opened? So the campus firewall is blocking the connection? Because if so, I'm knocking my head against a brick (fire)wall to no purpose whatsoever...
I figure it can't be the software firewall else I'd not be able to connect on the LAN. And it is a public ip address so there's no NAT translation required...

  • BPC Report emails only work from server (not client) - BPC v5.1

    Hi all.
Hope someone might have seen something like this before.
Basically, I setup our servers to send email from BPC about 3 weeks ago.
(NB - If it makes a difference, we use Lotus Notes via a Domino server)
The SMTP settings are all correct in BPC WebAdmin, the servers have been added to the allow list on the mail server and the port is open.
Anyway, when I try to send mail from a client (using the Offline Report Distribution Wizard), I get the following error:
"The transport failed to connect to the server".
At SAP's suggestion, I ran a test by installing Office and a BPC client directly onto the Web Server.
When I ran the wizard from the server, the email sent perfectly.
The problem I have now is that although I informed SAP of the test outcome, I haven't heard anything back in about 3 weeks, and I really need to get the reporting email system up and running properly.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this?
It's as though the system is telling the client to send the email itself, via the forwarding server, but this would mean allowing every user PC to access the mail server.
Hope you can help, but thanks for looking either way.
    Craig

    Hi Ludovic
The problem turned out to be mail server white-lists, due to the way that BPC sends emil.
Although you setup the email account/profile on the server, it actually sends from the client PC of whichever user makes the email request.
Our system is only configured to block all email requests with individual exceptions (ie a White-List).
It needed the PC of every user who would need to send email from the BPC system to be added to the white-list.
This is why it worked from the server, as we had added the server address to the list as part of the testing.
Not reall y a BPC problem, more of an issue with functionality due to the method that it uses to send the messages.
    Hope that helps
    Craig

  • What is best way to active sync large quantities of files on work PCs across multiple mobil devices of employees in the field?

I am looking for the best way for us to file share between our PC and mobil devices?  We have tons of PDF files and would benefit from being able to view/edit while in the field but are not sure of the best way to do so…
    - iCloud drive isn’t ideal because it requires everyone to have and maintain their own files via their individual devices and iCloud addresses
    - Dropbox seems to work, but it doesn’t actually store a local copy of the files so we have to load each time to view and their document viewers are not the most user friendly
    - Google Drive we used a long time ago, when it first came out, and it kind of worked well, but due to the volume of files and size of folders we constantly ran into crashing issues and sync problems so we gave up on it…
Ideally we would like to have local folders on our desktop that activesync to our mobil devices… Do you know of a way that this would be possible or do we need to purchase one of those large, robust field management programs?

    Hi Bob.
So what I should have done on my PC for all my files is gone to the File menu and used the Package command which would have converted it into a file with the images in it so they wouldn't need to be relinked.
From now on I will only be working on Mac (I gave away my PC) but I'm sure I could use a friend's pc (or at a later point install Windows on my Mac). But to use the Package command on PC I need to actually have the images in the correct folder on the PC right?

  • Download file from server to Mobile Device

    Hello everyone,
I would like to know firstly if downloading a file from a server to the Mobile device is possible or not. Secondly, if it is then is there a working example (code) I can use.
What I need is to simply download a text (.txt) file, nothing fancy :-)
    Thanks,
    TADA

    Hi,
First of all your mobile device has to support JSR75 (PDA Optional Package for J2ME = File connection & PIM).
Use following link to read a very useful article at SDN, about this API.

  • Uploading data from a windows mobile device to a server using GPRS

I want to upload data from a java application in pda (a Windows Mobile 6.1 device) to a server using a GPRS connection. My application uses a IBM weme VM.
I want to know whether I can do this in Java itself, because otherwise I would have to resort to some C++ methods(that uses the connection manager api) and call that using jni. But if there is some java method for this,it would have been helpful and straightforward..
Can I do this using socket connection in java? if so, Would somebody provide a code snippet ?Which port to connect to in that case?
Plz let me know about this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey forum....
When I dock my Windows Mobile device in a Windows 7 PC, the Windows Mobile Device Center opens and I can browse the device and copy files between it and the PC. However, I'm looking some kind of way to automate this process. All I'm really interested in
is a single file named TEXT.TXT which is stored in the My Documents folder. Basically, I'm looking for a script that will detect the Windows device (it's USB-attached) when docked, find the file TEXT.TXT in the My Documents folder and then copy this file to
the /Temp folder on the desktop.
I've tried using the synchronization feature of WMDC but it copies the file to a documents folder set up for the specific device. Instead, I'm looking to find and copy the file to C:\TEMP regardless of the device.
Thanks in advance for any help!
    Everett
Just configure the device to sync the folders you want to sync.  Start by reading the help very carefully.
This is not a scripting question and this forum is not for end user questions.   I suggest posting in the Windows Phone forum.
You can also sync via OneDrive over a cellular or wireless connection.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Working with files on mobile devices

    Hi everybody,
at the moment we are running a Vibe 3.4 server which is used most of the time by normal pc clients with the users using the browser or the Vibe desktop client to connect. Now we are getting a tablet project using Vibe more via mobile access (Android based) . The Problem now is, I can do many things with my mobile Vibe access or the Vibe App but I havent figured out how to work with my files stored in Vibe while accessing them via a mobile device.
Is there any possibility to open and work with the files/attachments?
If no, is this a planned feature for the future?
Any help, hint or trick is is greatly appreciated
    Regards,
    Andreas

  • Westell 7500 - can't remote access into work from laptops (desktop ok), no TiVO connection either

I successfully set up my "upgraded" Verizon DSL service and modem two weeks ago (have had internet connection on desktop and laptops since) but with that transition I lost the ability to remote access into my work computer from home and to have my TiVo connect to its server.  I am just completely disgruntled at Verizon's request to pay them $89 for the tech support I need to get my new stuff working as well as my old stuff did - and I'm hoping someone out there can help me instead.
The computer help guys at work said the system at work's port is 3389 and TiVo's support website give as whole list of possible ports (http://support.tivo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/402/c/105%2C109/r_id/100041).  Is this issue something that can be resolved in the router's port forwarding window?  Is so, how do I set that up correctly?  If it's something else, please tell me what and how!  I've read the Veralink 7500 User Manual and I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks in advance for any help that's out there!  And happy Father's Day to you... if that applies!

I solved the problems myself... and here's the solution in case anyone else would like to keep $89 in their pockets!
In both instances (remote access to work and connecting to the TiVO network), it is indeed the Port Forwarding feature you need to use in the Versalink 7500 router setup website (people will try to disuade you of this!).  In both cases, I did the following just using different port numbers (depending on what I was trying to get my computer to talk to) and with my computer's firewall on and the router's firewall set to medium.  Sorry I couldn't figure out how to post screen shots in this post... prepare to visualize!
    1. On the "New Port Forwarding Rule" page, click on "create" for #1, pick "host" for #2, and then select the computer your router is connected to in #3 (it might work with one of the other computers selected, but mine worked with the device he router was connected to).
    2. You need to do this step twice - first time select "direction" IN (in #3), second time select "direction" OUT.  On the "Create Port Forwarding Service" page, you can name it whatever you want for #1, keep "port forwading" selected" in #2, in #3 you'll need to figure out (a) if you need to select TCP, UDP, or BOTH for "protocol" (based on the online or manual documentation for the system you're trying to connect with), (b) "global portstart" (c) "global startend" and (d) "base hostport" should also be found in the documentation (see note below for Windows remote access and TiVo port info that worked for me) and they are all the same number (ex., global portstart = 80, global startend = 80, and base hostport = 80), and then (e) select the direction (first time, in; second time, out... remember, computer communication is a two-way street, just like humans!), and (f) leave "port direction" as DST.  Then you need to (g) click apply after you've added all the ports in both directions (my screen started this sequence of freaky flashy glitchy behavior, but apparently that was the fairy dust making the computer magic happen b/c when it was done, my connectivity was restored!).
    3.  The port that worked for me to remote access from Windowss PC to Windows PC was 3389.
    4.  This is the site that had the big list of ports for TiVo, but I think it was ports 80 and 8080 (see the first entry under the troubleshooting port issues) that made the magic happen for me: http://support.tivo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/402/c/105%2C109/r_id/100041
I hope this is useful to some others and that you just saved yourself $89 in tech support charges for this irritating little issue... go buy yourself a drink and enjoy the summer!
Now I'm off to figure out how to back up these router settings based on the less-than-friendly-to-laymen-computer-users Versalink manual.  Wish me luck!
