5c, less than two months old, just went dark and will not respond to charging, restore or itunes at all.

HELP! i'm new to iPhones, and so far have been happy. thanksgiving night the phone was acting up so i made sure all updates and software were current, and restored.  woke up yesterday to dead phone. thought the outlet where i'm staying might have been broken, but it's the phone. not communicating with itunes, not charging, totally non-responsive.  HELP! is there anything to do besides go to the store?  thanks.

I am not disputing your statement is not logical or factual. However production of these devices are at least in my neck of the woods readily available. I just walked in less than a week ago and bought a new Apple 5s and my number was ported into it within twenty minutes. So it depends where you live I guess.
Using an analogy of too new to have refurbished devices I would say depending on production and the rate of failure with customer base thrown in (all providers) there has to be returned and refurbished devices. Be it fair!are on day one or day twenty one. You have piqued my curiosity in that I am going to call verizon first, the do a web search to see if broken iPhone 5 devices are replaced with brand new devices.
Of course since I have the 5s it would be a legitimate inquiry.

    Hard reset by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake lock button (BUtton on the bottom of your display, button you use to turn the screen black) hold them both down for 15 seconds till you see the apple reappear

    Plug it into an electrical outlet let it sit a few minutes. Then try performing a hard reset, by holding the home button and the lock buttons at the same time until an apple logo appears.

    Thanks for the question. It sounds like you may have a hardware issue with your device, however let's try to isolate as much as possible to determine if that is so. To isolate the issue, follow the regular troubleshooting steps for power issues:
    Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
    1. Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    2. Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
    Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
    3. Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    4. After at least 30 minutes, if:
                   - The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
                   - The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
                   - Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
    5. If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
                   - If the display turns on, go to step 4.
                   - If the display remains black, go to next step.
    6. Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
    7. If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

    You sure the battery is not out of power?
    Try doing a Restart/Reset.  In this case, it would be the Reset procedure if it does not turn on normally.

    You may  have stuff running that you don't know you hve running. Such as notifications default to on, so you may have a bunch of stuff going out and reaching for info that you don't realize is running. So you can look there, and also look at your mail. If it's set to fetch mails or to push. if it's on push, then y our iPad is reacing out to get the mail all the time.
    So try turning stuff off. but if the battery is still not acting like you want it to, make an appointment at your local apple store and have them run diagnostics on it, just to make sure. they might also be able to give you some tips or find what's draining your power.

    I have checked power and it is OK.  The iMac just looks like it is off.  Power button does nothing.

    If it doesn't make any noises or has any video at all this points to a failed power supply. Do you get any sounds such as fans, startup tones, etc...?

  • Z key in macbook pro pops up on right side. Little pin on scissor clip underneath has broken. No stress on computer, is this apple covered? Otherwise where do I get a new scissor clip. Less than 3 months old.

    On the Z key, the little scissor clip underneath on the right hand side has two little pointy bits which connect to the key, the top one of these has broken off and the key is barely hanging on, if pushed on the right side of the key, it pops up. I tried to push it back in but it keeps popping up.

    u can give try to using external enclosre and backup ur files. I hope u will get files back. or using external enclosre with ur hdd boot into Linux and try to mount ur harddisk.
    there are multiple no of tutorial to mount apple partion in Linux.

    Sorry to hear you're having issues with your Mac, but just like pretty much everything else, things can go wrong.
    The key is what Apple will do about it now that it has gone wrong. Because you are under warranty, contact AppleCare and explain the issues you are experiencing. There is a chance that your iMac may have to be sent in for repair.
    My iMac has had issues since first bought in late 2009, in one form or another and has been repaired three times. AppleCare are going to replace the item sometime in the future, I have no idea when, but I have been without a working Mac for over three weeks now, actually it might be over four weeks.
    As you said, AppleCare will sort the problem out for you, let's hope it's not a lengthy repair and they get you up and running quickly.

  • Top of the line TV $1500 cheaper less than two months later

    I recently, April 11, bought a brand new top of the line (from what I was told by the sales associates) TV with the latest technology for $5000.00. I looked on the website today as I was shopping for a different item and saw that it was on sale for $3500. I realize that part of electronics is the in with the new brings prices down but that figure less than two months later is astronomical. It's nearly 1/3 off.  I may be naive, but I never would have bought the top of the line had I known that it price would change so much.
    I called the rewards hotline (I'm an elite member) and they let me know that I could talk to the store manager because 15 days had passed and they had the final call. I went in and the manager basically told me the best he could do was offer me 50% off  laptop accessories. Not exactly what I was looking for.
    I am extremely dissapointed. Again, I realize that prices of electronics change but $1500 in less than two months is crazy to me. I learned a lesson but was hoping that someone could help me out.
    I would be willing to put any money I receive back right back to Best Buy for a new laptop ect...or at least a discount on that laptop. Otherwise I will have to go elsewhere
    I have been a loyal customer for many years (my family as well) and I think this would definitely change the opinion of the company/ I was told that I could talk to a manager who could help me out but then went in and found out that he could lose his job if he helped me. Quite confusing.
